Insufficient vitamin value of the food rations for children at nurseries is expressed in lowered levels of vitamins and their metabolites in the urine, as well as in a higher frequency of vitamin and, particularly, polyvitamin deficiency in children, especially, in the winter-spring period. Improvement of the quality and increasing the quantity of food, prophylactic administration of polyvitamins in the periods of higher vitamin deficiency would be effective and real ways for optimization of vitamin status of children. Dragee "Undevitum" and "Hexavitum" proved to be most effective among the prophylactic polyvitamins, the synergy of action of their components provides the improvement in the values of renal excretion of vitamins and their metabolites, as well as reduction in the frequency of micro-symptoms of polyvitamin deficiency.  相似文献

Actual nutrition, health state and physical working capacity were studied in schoolchildren of three age groups after intake of the polyvitamin "Undevitum" during a month. The results of the investigation conducted have shown that prophylactic measures produced a positive effect on the schoolchildren aged from 11 to 13 and from 14 to 17 years who received 1 degree of "Undevitum" daily. No positive effect was recorded in schoolchildren aged 7-10 years who received 1 degree of "undevitum"/day, every other day.  相似文献

The results have been presented of the study of ferrokinetic values and providing with ascorbic and folic acids, vitamins B2 and B12 in women with latent iron deficiency, before and after preventive measures with the use of the lactic acid product "Biolact" combined with the polyvitamin "Gendevitum". The data obtained have shown that latent iron deficiency is attended by vitamin deficiency. "Biolact" enriched with iron and ascorbic acid, combined with "Gendevitum" normalizes iron metabolism and vitamin providing.  相似文献

Multiple stressor actions (immobilization, swimming in water, starvation) are attended by ulcerous lesions of the gastric wall. Preliminary (3 days, daily) and combined with stress factors (up to 6 days, daily) oral administration of the polyvitamin drug "Undevitum" reduces the number of test rats with stress ulcers. It prevents the development of manifest changes in the content of glycoproteins (according to proteins, hexosamines and sialic acids) in the gastric mucosa.  相似文献

The activity of xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes was studied in the liver of male Wistar rats, which were fed for 4 weeks diets, containing 100 (control), 50 and 20% of vitamin adequate level. Moderate (50%) polyvitamin deficiency increased activity of EROD (by 13%), MROD (by 34%; p<0,05), 4-nitrophenol hydroxylase (by 16%), 6beta-testosterone hydroxylase (by 17%), UDP-glucuronosyle transferase (by 26%, p<0,05) and quinone reductase (by 55%, p<0,05). Deep (20%) polyvitamin deficiency decreased in liver activity of MROD (to 78% of control level, p<0,05), 4-nitrophenol hydroxylase (to 74%, p<0,05), heme oxygenase-1 (to 83%, p<0,05) and quinone reductase (to 60%, p<0,05). At the same time a 22% increase in the UDP-glucuronosyle transferase activity compared to the control group was found; activities of EROD, PROD, 6beta-testosterone hydroxylase and the total activity of glutathione S-transferase were unchanged. Deep polyvitamin deficiency had no significant effect on CYP1A1 mRNA and AhR mRNA level, whereas the expression of CYP1A2 mRNA and CYP3A1 mRNA were decreased to 62 and 79%, respectively, as compared with control.  相似文献

Presently is no consensus of opinion of the size of human optimal daily allowance as for thiamine and riboflavin, so for magnesium, what their content in polyvitamin and mineral preparations testify to. The study was conducted in 60 volunteers, who once took oral dosing of magnesium -bearing preparation "Magnerot" (500 mg of magnesium orotat converting to Mg2+ 32,8 Mg) and "Centrum" (100 mg of magnesium oxide converting to Mg2+ - 60,3 Vg) or vitamins B1 and B2 in 10, 20 and 30 mg doses. The received data testify that during the application of both of these preparations, equal concentration of this element takes place, though in case of magnesium oxide it happens later. As for the used vitamin B1 and B2 doses, it is determined that 10 mg is the optimal dose for treating their hypoavitaminosis.  相似文献

Investigations were conducted in 110 schoolchildren aged 7-10 and 11-14 years. They had received insufficiently balanced traditional nutrition deficient in animal proteins, vegetable oils, calcium, and, especially, in vitamins. Excretion of ascorbic acid, thiamine, riboflavine, N1-HA was decreased as compared to the lower standard limits 3.5-1.9 times in 85-90% of schoolchildren aged 7-14 years, microsymptoms of vitamin deficiency (including polyvitamin deficiency) were noted in 33-53% of the children. Administration of varying doses of "Undevitum" (0.5, 1 and 1.5 dragees/day) has shown that for normalization of vitamin status, decreasing morbidity rate and improvement of their mental capacity, the schoolchildren of 1-4 forms should receive 1 dragee and those of 5-8 forms--1.5 dragee of "Undevitum"/day as an optimum dose.  相似文献

The Aerodyne aerosol mass spectrometer (AMS) was used to characterize physical and chemical properties of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formed during ozonolysis of cycloalkenes and biogenic hydrocarbons and photo-oxidation of m-xylene. Comparison of mass and volume distributions from the AMS and differential mobility analyzers yielded estimates of "effective" density of the SOA in the range of 0.64-1.45 g/cm3, depending on the particular system. Increased contribution of the fragment at m/z 44, C02+ ion fragment of oxygenated organics, and higher "delta" values, based on ion series analysis of the mass spectra, in nucleation experiments of cycloalkenes suggest greater contribution of more oxygenated molecules to the SOA as compared to those formed under seeded experiments. Dominant negative "delta" values of SOA formed during ozonolysis of biogenics indicates the presence of terpene derivative structures or cyclic or unsaturated oxygenated compounds in the SOA. Evidence of acid-catalyzed heterogeneous chemistry, characterized by greater contribution of higher molecular weight fragments to the SOA and corresponding changes in "delta" patterns, is observed in the ozonolysis of alpha-pinene. Mass spectra of SOA formed during photooxidation of m-xylene exhibit features consistent with the presence of furandione compounds and nitro organics. This study demonstrates that mixtures of SOA compounds produced from similar precursors result in broadly similar AMS mass spectra. Thus, fragmentation patterns observed for biogenic versus anthropogenic SOA may be useful in determining the sources of ambient SOA.  相似文献

The inhibitory effects of vitamin C esters 1 and 2 on the diphenolase activity of mushroom tyrosinase have been studied. The results showed that compounds 1 and 2 inhibited tyrosinase with IC50 values of 0.58 and 0.16 mM, respectively. The dose–response curves demonstrated that compounds 1 and 2 not only lengthened the lag time, but also decreased the steady-state rate. The kinetic analyses showed that the inhibition by compound 2 was reversible and its mechanism was mixed type, which was different from compound 1 (irreversible inhibitor). Furthermore, the antioxidant activities of these compounds against hydroxyl radical scavenging, superoxide anion radical scavenging, and DPPH radical scavenging were also investigated. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited potential antioxidant activities. In particular, compound 2 was found to be the most effective antioxidant, more potent than the well-known antioxidants vitamin C and TBHQ.  相似文献

The authors have estimated the influence of polyvitamin intake on mental and physical working capacity of schoolchildren beginning their study from 6 years. A total of 74 children were under observation. They were divided into 2 groups: control (30 children) who were not given vitamins, and the main group (44 children) who received Undevitum (1/2 capsule, 2 times/day) during 6 months of the winter-spring period. It was found that already after 3 months of vitamin intake children studying in kindergartens or at school demonstrated increased number of letters looked through, muscle strength, decreased number of mistakes after introduction of a differential component. At the same time no favourable changes were recorded in the control group who did not receive vitamins. Six months after the beginning of vitamin intake the number of letters looked through by the children in the main group was higher by 22-37% than in the control group, the muscle strength was higher by 37-40%, the fatigue limit--by 113-119%, while the latent period of visual-motor reactions was lower by 25-30%, and that of audio-motor reactions--by 12-14%, as compared to the control group.  相似文献

Yellow wine (YW) has been claimed to have beneficial effects on the prevention of cancer and cardiovascular disease, which are related to the oxidation activity in vivo. In this study, the antioxidant activity of YW and its concentrate and volatile compounds (VC) was determined in terms of total antioxidant, reducing capacity, free radical scavenging, metal chelating and superoxide anion radical scavenging activities. These various antioxidant activities were compared with synthetic antioxidant, such as butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). The total phenolic compounds were also determined. Results indicated that YW and its concentrate exhibited similar strong total antioxidant activity. The inhibition percentage of 100 μl of YW and its concentrate on peroxidation of 2.5 ml of linoleic acid emulsion was 97.99% and 95.74%, and both of them also had effective reducing capacity, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and superoxide anion radical scavenging activities, but had very low metal chelating activity on ferrous. However, the VC in YW had little antioxidant activities. Results indicated that active antioxidants were nonvolatile and resided in the concentrate after evaporation. Phenolic compounds may play a very important role in the antioxidant function. However, identification of specific antioxidant components should be further investigated.  相似文献

An in vitro digestion/Caco-2 cell culture model was used to assess the stability and bioavailability of phenolic compounds in aqueous extracts of four herbal infusions, traditionally used as functional drinks in Portugal. Alterations in antioxidant power were monitored by ABTS+, whereas the profile of phenolic compounds was ascertained by HPLC-DAD. The bioavailability of rutin - an important flavonoid present in such extracts, and thus a representative of those compounds, was assessed across Caco-2 cells via LC-MS/MS. Our results indicate that several antioxidant compounds are not affected by the (simulated) digestive process, whereas others undergo decreases in their activity throughout said process; a few have their antioxidant capacity hampered under stomach-like conditions. It was also found that rutin can be transported across the Caco-2 cell barrier.  相似文献

In this work, some organoleptic and nutritive parameters related to fruit quality (color, firmness, total soluble solids, and total acidity), the content of bioactive compounds (total phenolics and total carotenoids) as well as the total antioxidant activity (TAA) due to hydrophilic (H-TAA) and lipophilic (L-TAA) compounds have been determined in both skin and flesh of 10 flat peach and nectarine genotypes (7 peaches and 3 nectarines). Results showed that genotype plays an important role in determining the organoleptic and nutritive quality, as well as the concentration of bioactive compounds and the related TAA, since these parameters differed largely among cultivars. Overall data suggest that for commercial purposes and consumer's acceptability (based on color, firmness, acidity, and bioactive compounds), the flat nectarine "ASF-06-83" and the flat peaches "Sweet Cap" and "ASF-06-91" could be considered as the best cultivars. Additionally, it is suggested that the content of bioactive compounds should be included as an important factor in future breeding program to obtain new genotypes with enhanced bioactive compounds. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: Genotype of flat peaches and nectarines plays an important role in determining the organoleptic and nutritive quality, as well as the content of bioactive compounds. Given the differences on bioactive compounds concentration and antioxidant activity among peaches and nectarines flat cultivars, these parameters should be included as an important factor in future breeding program to obtain new genotypes with enhanced bioactive compounds.  相似文献

A number of life forms, including seeds, certain nematodes, bacterial and fungal spores, and cysts of certain crustaceans, show an ability to survive desiccation. The present article reviews the literature available on this subject and critically evaluates the evidence for various mechanisms that may be responsible for these phenomena. Specific mechanisms considered include vitrification (glass formation) by sugars and other polyhydroxy compounds that are accumulated by the desiccated structures, specific effects of polyhydroxy compounds on membranes, effect of “compatible solutes” on conformation of key proteins, as well as other biochemical mechanisms.

The article presents potential applications relevant to food technology and to biotechnology and reviews the research required to materialize more effective use of desiccation in food and biopreservation.  相似文献

Influence of sugar and mixtures of sugar on color retention of two varieties of blackberries, Thornfree and Cacanska bestrna, were investigated during storage at − 18C for 12 months. After harvest, blackberries were coated with sugars (sucrose, fructose and glucose) and different sugar (sucrose  +  fructose  +  glucose, fructose  +  glucose, fructose  +  sucrose) mixtures. Anthocynin content, total phenol content and free radical scavenging activity of prepared samples were evaluated. Ratio of fruit : sugar was 1:1. The highest anthocyanin retention was in blackberry samples with glucose addition and the lowest in samples with sucrose addition, in both cultivars. Blackberry samples with sucrose addition had even lower retention than samples without sugar addition. Samples with an addition of other sugars had higher retention of anthocyanin than samples stored without sugars.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION


Possibility of phenols retention of blackberries due to sugar addition, during cold storage was investigated. Results showed that glucose had the most positive effect on anthocyanins retention as well as total phenolic compounds content. For that reason, certain amount of sucrose in fruit preserves can be replaced by addition of glucose, and for that reason retention of phenolic compounds can be higher and, as could be expected, more effective against oxidative stress in human body due to intake of product formulation with glucose.  相似文献

The effect of malic acid and essential oils (EOs) of cinnamon, palmarosa and lemongrass and their main active compounds as natural antimicrobial substances incorporated into an alginate-based edible coating on the shelf-life and safety of fresh-cut "Piel de Sapo" melon (Cucumis melo L.) was investigated. Melon pieces (50 g) were coated with alginate-based edible coating containing malic acid (EC) and EOs or their active compounds before to be packed in air filled polypropylene trays and stored at 5 degrees C for shelf-life and sensory studies. On the other hand, melon pieces were inoculated with a Salmonella Enteritidis (10(8) CFU/ml) culture before applying the coatings containing malic acid and EOs or their active compounds to safety study. Controls of fresh-cut melon non-coated or coated with EC without EOs were also prepared. EC was effective to improve shelf-life of fresh-cut melon from microbiological (up to 9.6 days) and physicochemical (>14 days) points of view in comparison with non-coated fresh-cut melon, where microbiological and physicochemical shelf-life was up to 3.6 days and lower than 14 days, respectively. In addition, the incorporation of EOs or their active compounds into the edible coating prolonged the microbiological shelf-life by more than 21 days in some cases due probably to an enhanced antimicrobial effect of malic acid+EOs; however, some fresh-cut melon characteristics were affected such as firmness and color causing a reduction of physicochemical shelf-life. Significant reductions (p<0.05) of S. Enteritidis population in inoculated coated fresh-cut melon were achieved, varying the effectiveness of the coatings depending on the EOs or the active compound and their concentrations. According to the results, palmarosa oil incorporated at 0.3% into the coating appear to be a promising preservation alternative for fresh-cut melon, since it had a good acceptation by panellists, maintained the fruit quality parameters, inhibited the native flora growth and reduced S. 以"宝交""大将军"和"红宝石"3个品种的草莓为试材,采用顶空固相微萃取-气相色谱质谱联用技术(GC-MS)和嗅闻技术(GC-O)、感官评价以及快速气相电子鼻对果实的香气成分进行分析。3个品种共检测到71种挥发性成分,"宝交""大将军"和"红宝石"分别有60,70和66种。酯类物质种类最多(21~26种),而醛类物质含量最多(51.37%~63.63%)。其中,丁酸甲酯、丁酸乙酯、乙醛、己酸甲酯、(E)-2-己烯醛、己酸乙酯、乙酸己酯、芳樟醇在3个样品中具有较高的含量及香气强度,为草莓的主要特征香气物质。经感官评价,"宝交"较强甜香气的来源可能是由于2-戊酮的存在;"大将军"青香和花香更强,青香可能由于它具有更高的己醛和反式-2-己烯醛含量,而花香可能来源于芳樟醇、橙花叔醇和β-紫罗兰酮。由快速气相电子鼻可以显示出3个品种草莓很好的区分度。  相似文献
