A large screen — more than 4 m high by 5 m wide — colour display system has been developed. The display screen consists of matrix array of small, high luminant intensity light-emitting tubes, and can present sharp colour pictures even in daylight. It offers better colour and lower power consumption than conventional large displays based on incandescent lamps.  相似文献

Standard incandescent brake lamps have a relatively slow rise time. It takes approximately a quarter of a second for them to reach 90% of asymptotic light output, causing potential delays in responses by following drivers. The present study evaluated reaction times to brake signals from standard incandescent brake lamps and from three alternative brake lamps with substantially faster rise times: neon, LED, and fast incandescent. The study, performed in a laboratory, simulated a daytime driving condition. The subject's task was to respond as quickly as possible to the onset of either of two brake lamps in the visual periphery, while engaged in a central tracking task. Brake signals were presented at two levels of luminous intensity. The results showed that reaction times to the alternative brake lamps were faster than to the standard incandescent lamp, with the advantage averaging 166?ms for the LED and neon lamps, and 135?ms for the fast incandescent lamp. A reduction of the signals' luminous intensity from 42 cd to 5 cd increased the reaction time by 84?ms.  相似文献

Two experiments explore whether it would help readers re-locate information in an “electronic book” if different windows on the screen were used to display specific sections of the text. Experiment 1, using a within-subject design, showed that reading and question answering were faster with a single window than with a multi-window display. Experiment 2, in which procedural skills were developed before starting the experiment, and a between-subject design was used, showed that this advantage for the single window display would not generally be the case. The multi-window display was a significant help to readers relocating information once they were familiar with the procedures for manipulating the text. The studies suggest ways in which the display of lengthy electronic texts may be improved. They also illustrate the ease with which misleading results can be obtained in studies of human-computer interaction, and emphasize the need for establishing adequate levels of procedural skill before exploring display characteristics.  相似文献

提出严禁矿用一般型照明灯具、通信、自动化装置和仪器仪表等小功率非防爆设备用于煤矿井下;照明灯具应采用LED等冷光源,优选本质安全型或本质安全型与浇封型或隔爆型等其他防爆型式的复合型;用于煤矿井下的监控、通信、监视、控制设备和仪器仪表应优选本质安全型,设备之间传输的信号必须是本质安全型信号;大功率电气设备应优选隔爆型电气设备,隔爆型电气设备应将接线腔与主腔分腔布置。提出矿用通信与信号电缆和光缆可以盘圈。提出与隔爆型电气设备连接的矿用电缆必须耐爆;严禁矿用通信与信号电缆和光缆直接与单一隔爆型电气设备连接;与隔爆兼本质安全型电气设备连接的矿用通信与信号电缆和光缆必须耐爆。提出煤矿井下严禁使用铝芯电缆。提出用于局部通风机的欠压保护和失压保护应有延时措施;除掘进、开拓和临时施工场所外,尽量减少局部通风机的使用;严禁在形成全风压通风的回采工作面使用局部通风机稀释上隅角瓦斯等。提出矿灯应采用LED等冷光源,应采用本质安全型或本质安全型与浇封型等其他防爆类型的复合型;光源及灯绳(电池与头灯分离时)中传输的电能必须是本质安全型;严禁白炽灯等特殊型矿灯用于煤矿井下。  相似文献

Abstract— Backlights are indispensable for the operation of LCDs. Light sources or lamps are the core components of backlights. There are many types of light sources for backlights such as cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs), external electrode fluorescent lamps (EEFLs), hot‐cathode fluorescent lamps (HCFLs), flat fluorescent lamps (FFLs), and light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). Recently, FFLs are becoming one the most interesting light sources for LCD‐TV backlights. Channel profiles and the structure of FFLs in more detail are discussed in this paper. The channel profile of FFLs with maximum brightness uniformity was designed, fabricated, and characterized. The FFL backlight demonstrated 10,500 nits and the total power consumption was 110 W at room temperature.  相似文献

Abstract— A new optical rewritable (ORW) liquid‐crystal‐alignment technology has been developed to create a display and to demonstrate its maturity and potential. ORW displays have no electrodes and use polarizers as substrates. The display requires no photolithography on plastic. Its simple construction secures durability and low cost for mass production. The on‐screen information is optically changed in a writing unit that consists of an LCD mask and an exposure source that is based on LEDs, low power, and low cost in comparison with Hg lamps or lasers. A high contrast image can be easily written, viewed, and rewritten through a polarizer, while the multi‐stable gray‐level image requires zero power to maintain the image. Reconfigurable LC alignment using ORW technology best suits plastic‐card displays as well as for LC photonics and various one‐mask processes of patterned LC‐alignment applications.  相似文献

研究室内照明亮度调节优化问题,由于室内照明系统中,根据需要亮度各有不同。针对实际照度需求,为了能自动调整亮度,达到提高工作效率和节能的目的,提出建立遗传算法的室内灯具亮度调节精确模型。构建了以最小化照度误差和能量消耗的适应度函数,优化使亮度需求达到照度值。将灯具亮度调节分为场景切换和特定场景下灯具亮度微调两种模式,用不同场景灯具,对特定场景下需求亮度的调节进行了仿真,结果证明改进方法可以按不同照度需求时获得优化亮度。  相似文献

Abstract— Tristimulus colorimeters commit systematic errors due to their imperfect realization of the CIE color‐matching functions. A method is proposed to characterize display colorimeters in a single session using a monochromator independently of any display. Colorimeter spectral responsivity functions are obtained that then serve to predict correction matrices for all the possible displays. Experiments show that this can be done with sufficient accuracy to meet practical requirements.  相似文献

Reading text from computer screens is better when text is printed in dark letters on light background (positive polarity) than when it is printed in light letters on dark background (negative polarity). An experiment is presented that tests whether this positive polarity advantage is due to the fact that overall display luminance is typically higher for positive than for negative polarity displays. To this end, text-background polarity and display luminance were manipulated independently. No positive polarity advantage was observed when overall display luminance of positive and negative polarity displays was equivalent. There was only an effect of display luminance, with better performance for the higher-luminance displays. This suggests that the positive polarity advantage is in fact due to the typically higher luminance of positive polarity displays. Readability of text presented on computer screens (e.g. on websites) is better when the overall display luminance level is high, as in positive polarity displays (dark letters on light background). Display polarity per se does not affect readability.  相似文献

This research proposed an experimental method to predict plasma properties in fluorescent lamps with the aid of electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation. A set of power‐controllable fluorescent lamps are placed between two antennas as a layered plasma medium. The electron density of plasma was adjusted through luminance control of the fluorescent lamps, and the transmission of the EM wave through the area occupied by plasma was achieved. The EM wave reflection and transmission through the plasma area were experimentally measured. By using the time‐domain experimental method, and with aid of the Fourier transformation, EM wave changes in the phase and variance in the intensity are tested. The plasma collision frequency and electron density are then mathematically derived based on the EM wave scattering model theory in unmagnetized plasma. This research provides an experimental approach to predict the plasma properties and diagnose the interaction between EM waves and plasma. The proposed experimental method can be implemented with other types of antennas and extended to a wide range of circumstances, such as monitoring the discharge changes in other plasma sources.  相似文献

Abstract— In this study we applied both numerical simulation and experimental validation to characterize the thermal deformation of the panel and the direct‐lit backlight unit (BLU) of a thin‐film‐transistor liquid‐crystal‐display television (TFT‐LCD TV). Heat emitted from cold‐cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) causes thermal deformation of the LCD and extrudes the panel from the metal front shield at both upper corners: this finally leads to color distortion. In the numerical simulation based on thermal‐fluidic fields of the TFT‐LCD TV, natural convection of air that surrounded the CCFLs resulted in a high temperature at the upper‐right and upper‐left corners of the LCD panel. Numerical results were verified by temperature measurements with good consistency. Additionally, this study has established a measurement system to characterize the temperature distribution on both the BLU and panel and the thermal deformation of the panel causing the color distortion.  相似文献
