ABSTRACT

The bulk density of garlic slices at different moisture levels (ranging from approximately 3 to 65% MC wet basis) was determined by weighing the contents of a container of known volume. The porosity was calculated using its relationship with bulk and apparent densities. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that bulk density and porosity were affected significantly by moisture and slice thickness as well as the interaction of these variables. Bulk density varied in a positive linear fashion with moisture and thickness while a negative linear correlation was found for the calculated bulk porosity. The linear model met the adequacy criterion for characterising the behaviour of garlic. Using a laboratory unit, the vertical resistance to airflow through the product and the effect of misture and slice thickness were investigated for an airflow rates of 0.09 to 1.2 m3/s-m2. A higher resistance to airflow was noted for the wet product with the experimental data fitting to Shedd's model when the aifflow range was divided into two sub-flow rates and to a modified Ergun's equation for the full range.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A software for simulating the drying operation of diluted suspensions in conical spouted beds of inert particles has been developed. This computer program combines the fluid flow and the solids circulation models with the drying kinetic equations. The simulated results for drying animal blood in a spouted bed of inert particles compare with data reported in the literature.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We investigate experimentally the behaviour of the receding evaporation front during the drying of food products by measuring the temperature distribution profile within the potato slab. The effect of key process parameters on the receding speed of this evaporation front is investigated. We show that the square root of the drying time varies linearly with the transient position of the front. Also, the receding velocity of the front is seen to be related to the drying rate of the product as the front decelerates inward to the center of the material.  相似文献

Since Sideman et al.[1] derived an analytical solution of the Nusselt number for a spherical drop in the direct contact evaporation in an immiscible liquid, many researchers have performed theoretical research on this field under different assumptions [2]-[6]. However drops moving in another immiscible liquid do not take a spherical form, but oblate form, which may be well approximated as an ellipsoid. This paper establishes the mathematical model of heat transfer for a moving ellipsoidal drop in an immiscible liquid, and presents results from numerical calculation. The relationship of the Nusselt number with the Weber number and the Peclet number is given, which is suitable for a relatively large range of We and Pe. The theoretical results for the Nusselt number show good agreement with experimental data. Some important conclusions are obtained.  相似文献

实验研究了直径为 35mm的除油水力旋流器能量耗散与分流比的关系 .结果发现 ,当改变溢流孔径 (分别为 4、 6、 8mm)和入口流量 (分别为 30、 40、 5 0、 6 0、 70L·min-1)时 ,只要分流比小于 2 5 % ,旋流器的能量耗散在不同入口流量下都能保持与入口流量对应的某一常数值 .当入口流量分别为 30、 40、 5 0、 6 0、 70L·min-1时 ,旋流器的能量耗散大约分别为 10、 30、 80、 140、 2 0 5N·m·s-1.根据旋流器的这一特征 ,并结合理论分析 ,建立了除油水力旋流器压降比数学模型 .该模型预测计算的压降比与分流比关系曲线与实验室测定的结果能很好地吻合  相似文献

油,水分离用水力旋流器是一种高效、节能的新型分离装置,其结构及尺寸与固、液分离用水力旋流器有较大的差别。通过研究,计算确定了水力旋流器的几何结构及各部分尺寸,并制造了一台样机,在自行设计的试验台上进行了试验研究,分离效率达95%。同时试验了不同参数(压力P,流量Qi,浓度Ci,分流比F,尾管长度l3等)对分离性能的影响,找出了一些规律,为进一步深入的研究及试验打下了基础。  相似文献

以二乙烯基苯(DVB)为交联剂,在对甲苯磺酸(PTS)的作用下对中温煤沥青进行改性,制备出性能优良的炭材料用改性沥青,并对改性沥青的性能进行表征。结果表明,未固化沥青的软化点为112℃,残炭率达68.0%,而固化后沥青的残炭率高达74.2%;改性后的沥青中出现很多中间相小球体;与未改性的煤沥青相比,该沥青炭化产物的孔隙尺寸明显变小。  相似文献

采用自制焙烧型电刷和进口高阻电刷在交流串激式高速微电机进行电刷磨损性能测试,并对电刷刷体温度进行了测量,考察了电刷刷体温度与电刷磨损速率的关系,运用相关理论对刷体温度、对电刷磨损性能的影响进行了详细分析。研究结果表明,电刷刷体温度的高低对电刷的磨损性能具有决定性的影响,刷体温度越高,电刷磨损越快。刷体温度可以作为考察高速微电机电刷磨损性能重要的指标参数。  相似文献
