Solid particles were dried in the riser of circulating fluidized bed with internals to study the drying kinetics. Experiments were conducted in a circulating fluidized bed, having perforated plates as internals covering wide range in the operating parameters. The effects of various operating parameters, i.e., initial moisture content, temperature, and flow rate, of the heating medium and solid circulation rate on the rate of drying have been critically examined. It has been observed from the present investigation that the presence of internals enhances the solids holdup in the riser of circulating fluidized bed. The drying efficiency of a circulating fluidized bed with internals has been compared with the drying performance of a circulating fluidized bed without internals under the same operating conditions.  相似文献

This article deals with investigation and modeling of batch drying process of solids in fluidized bed apparatus. There has been used model of fluidized bed drying, which consists two zones: emulsion zone and bubbling zone with taking into consideration the presence of solid particles in the bubbles. The results of theoretical expectations that arise from simulation calculations have been verified with experimental data obtained with the use of fluidized bed dryer 0.225 m in diameter. A drying process of silica gel, sand, and ammonium sulfate has been tested. To verify the model, the concept of a generalized drying curve has also been employed.  相似文献

This article presents experimental and modeled drying kinetics of potato slices of the Desiree variety (9 × 9 × 3 mm3) in a pulsed fluid bed as a function of the air velocity, air temperature, and rotating disk velocity of the pulse generator. A statistical multifactor experimental design (23) was applied to analyze the drying process with two levels each of drying temperature, air velocity, and rotating disk velocity. The results showed that the significant factors were air temperature, air velocity, rotating disk velocity, and the binary interactions of air velocity with both the temperature and the rotating disk velocity. The simplified variable diffusivity model (SVDM) gave the least deviation for the experimental data. The effective diffusivity values determined in this work are similar to those reported in the literature.  相似文献

This research explores the production of low-moisture, high-rank coal using a batch-type, laboratory-scale, circulating fluidized bed to dry low-rank Indonesian coal with a high moisture content of 35 wt%. The operation was performed using air as a fluidization gas in a riser (a 4-m-tall pipe with an inner diameter of 0.04 m) at a gas velocity ranging from 2.0 to 2.7 m/s and a riser temperature of 80 to 150°C. The electric heaters were installed in the upper part of a downcomer to prevent the condensation of the evaporated moist- ure. The drying rate of the coal was investigated in terms of the inlet gas temperature, the gas velocity, and the drying time in order to determine the optimum operating conditions. Changes in the moist- ure content of the coal, before and after the experiments, were char- acterized by a proximate analysis, an ultimate analysis, the higher heating value (HHV), the lower heating value (LHV), a particle size analysis, and by the equilibrium moisture content. The results show that 70 to 80 wt% (wet basis, wb) of the total moisture can be reduced when the gas velocity of the riser is 2.0 m/s and the gas temperature is 150°C. In experiments, a simple mathematical model based on the heat and mass balances and a thin-layer drying model were simul- taneously used to predict the drying behavior of coal under the given operating conditions. The results of the model are similar to those of the experiment.  相似文献

The drying kinetics of oil palm frond particles in a laboratory-scale agitated fluidized bed dryer were investigated under various operating conditions: inlet air temperature (50–80°C), superficial air velocity (0.6–1.0 m/s), bed load (200–300 g), and agitation speed (300–500 rpm). To study the effects of these variables on the drying time and drying rate, an experimental design using Taguchi orthogonal array was employed. Based on analysis of variance (ANOVA), the results indicated that inlet air temperature greatly affected the drying rate, followed by superficial air velocity and bed load. The effect of agitation speed on the drying rate was found to be small. The experimental drying kinetics data were compared with the values obtained from three different models, namely, the Page model, modified quasi-stationary method (MQSM), and a new composite model. It was found that the proposed new model could satisfactorily predict the complete drying rate curve for the drying of oil palm fronds.  相似文献

本研究采用光纤激光多普勒测速仪(LDV),通过两列信号处理系统,同时测定了气体和颗粒局部速度,研究了低密度循环流化床提升管内局部滑落速度的变化规律。实验结果表明,提高颗粒循环速率,在任一径向位置的气固滑落速度均增加;提高气体表观速度,反而使气固之间局部滑落速度减小。由于固体颗粒在近壁区的团聚行为,在近壁区气、固局部滑落速度出现一个极大值。  相似文献

The fluidization in the furnace of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers is described. Data have been obtained from a 12 MWth CFB boiler and from literature. The bottom bed is bubbling rather than fast or turbulently fluidized as is often assumed. There is an extended splash zone above this bed, in which particles are thrown up by the bubbles and fall back onto the bottom bed. Other particles are carried further into the transport zone, initially as a saturated gas flow, but some particles move into the wall layers and the density decays towards the exit. The density of the transport zone is low, and the circulation rate is relatively seen small. Therefore, this flow is in a state of dilute-phase transport and not in the fast fluidization regime, such as is often claimed.  相似文献

The drying of carbohydrate suspensions on polypropylene particles in a pulsed fluidized bed was studied by means of a 25 experimental design, to determine the effect of the air flow and temperature, suspension flow rate, and free section and rotating speed of the rotary plate on the Nusselt number, the moisture content of the product, and the percentage of solids retained inside the bed (which were minimized to 4.9 and 14.4%, respectively) with an air flow of 600 m3/h at 90°C and 720 mmHg, a suspension flow rate of 6 L/h, and a plate with 6% free section, rotating at 50 rpm.

Additionally, the effects of temperature, air flow, and suspension flow rate on the residence time distribution (RTD) were determined, using the stimulus-response methodology. The RTD was represented by 1.1 to 2 tanks in series, according to this model. The mean residence time of the dried carbohydrate particles was between 5.4 and 8.2 min.

Finally, an egg suspension could be dried at 4 L/h, with air at 90°C, with a mean residence time about 50% longer that that found for drying carbohydrate suspensions.  相似文献

The basic properties of cotton stalk (CS) of length 10–100 mm and its ash were investigated. Studies concerning the combustion characteristics of CS were performed in a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) test facility with a heat input of 0.5 MW. According to previous cold tests, there is very little segregation during the mixing of CS with this size profile and bed material at a fluidization number of N > 7, but the hot experimental results indicate that slight segregation has a small effect on the steady combustion of the dense region. Experiments were carried out with the aim of investigating the effects of operating conditions on the axial temperature and gas concentration profiles along the combustor height, as well as the emission performance and combustion efficiency of the CFB. The experimental results indicate it is difficult to react alumina bed material with alkali metals from CS ash following 26 h of combustion. The overall conclusions appear to indicate that the application of circulating fluidized bed boilers to fire pure CS of length 10–100 mm, is feasible.  相似文献

Hydrodynamics and flow development are studied in a long riser circulating fluidized bed reactor (15.1 m). Optic fiber probes were used for the measurement of local solids distribution. Pressure drops were also measured with pressure transducers along the riser. The flow development in the riser center is almost instant with solids holdup remaining constant and low, and particle velocity remaining high along the riser. The particle flow is firstly developed from center, and then towards the wall. The riser height is an important factor for the design of circulating fluidized bed reactors. Increasing the solid circulating rate significantly slows down the flow development process, while increases in the superficial gas velocity accelerate it.  相似文献

Solid recycle characteristics through a conventional and a newly developed loop‐seal (0.08 m i.d.) system are determined in a circulating fluidized bed of FCC or silica sand particles. In the loop‐seal developed here, gas was injected downward tangentially to the wall of the loop‐seal to increase solids mass flux with stable flow. For conventional loop‐seal, solids mass fluxes increase linearly with increasing aeration rate but it reaches a maximum value. At the same aeration rate with different aeration locations (0.1 – 0.6 m) in a conventional loop‐seal, a maximum solids mass flux is seen at a height to diameter ratio of 2.5. For the newly developed loop‐seal, mass fluxes of FCC and sand particles are higher and more stable than in conventional loop‐seal at the same aeration rate. The solid mass fluxes obtained have been correlated with the aeration rate and Archimedes number.  相似文献

Abstract

The use of a fluidized bed dryer with a lateral air flow and mechanical agitation to the drying of sludge from a wastewater treatment plant was investigated. Experimental curves of moisture content vs. drying time, as well as heat transfer coefficients and the size characteristics of the products, were determined at temperatures between 80°C and 110°C, a stirring rate of 55 rpm and air velocity of 0.9 m/s for 3 kg sludge batches with initial moisture contents of 0.55 and 0.65 (d.b.). Experimental drying kinetics were compared with values derived from three models based on Fick's second law, namely: the constant diffusivity model, the simplified variable diffusivity model, and the modified quasi-stationary model.  相似文献

A fluidization reactor was designed to study the possibility of performing circulating turbulent fluidized bed (CTFB) by using only single feed gas injection. The effect of the design parameters was studied based on the Geldart classification and Archimedes number. Two sizes of sand particles represented Geldart group B, whereas a polyvinyl chloride particle represented the Geldart group A. The effect of the operating parameters was studied by manipulating the solid recirculation rates. Interpretation of the solid fraction profile along riser height could be used to determine the bed front. The appearance of CTFB in the system was indicated by the disappearance of the bed front along the riser height. A suitable riser height was lower than the maximum solid particle bed expansion; this is a crucial design parameter to support the action of CTFB.  相似文献

在高8m,内径186mm的循环流化床中,利用光纤激光多普勒测速仪测量了FCC颗粒的局部速度沿轴径向的分布。实验结果表明:局部颗粒速度沿径向分布是不均匀的,床中心区域分布比较平坦,近壁环形区域分布较陡,颗粒沿轴向运动有较长的加速段。由实验数据回归得到预测低密度循环流化床局部颗粒速度的经验关联式。  相似文献
