Economic Production of Hydrogen for Processes in Fat Chemistry The most important methods for the production of pure hydrogen for the processes in fat chemistry are described. Based on the difference in energy prices, the costs of production in steam reforming process and electrolytic process are compared. The optimum application of these two processes is shown. The process of reforming natural gas in combination with a suitable purification process is described in details. Experience gathered in such a plant with regard to cost of investment and processing is communicated. Finally, interesting new processes in the field of hydrogen manufacture are discussed together with the prospects of future development.  相似文献

Historical and conventional methods for the treatment of vegetable oil waste water are described. The results obtained and the economics of the various processes for oil-water separation are reported. A process utilizing selective adsorption filtration is described. The new regeneration procedure for cleaning the filter media allows for its total reuse. The process produces effluent water which will conform to existing government regulations for oil content. Development of the filtration/regeneration process is described up to full-scale installation with test results.  相似文献

Combination of thickener and continual pressure filter to improve solid/liquid separation processes. The fundamental concept of the proposed process combination, which basically entails a division of the whole solid/liquid separation stage into sub-stages, is presented. The influence of the suspension's concentration on the formation and dewatering of filter cakes under ideal conditions is then discussed, after which possible deviations of the product from the ideal behaviour are described along with their influence on the process results. Actual engineering conditions are then considered, and the consequences of a suspension pre-thickening for the results of a drum filter are demonstrated. The conditions necessary for satisfactory results are discussed. Based on the results of conventional filtration, the further increase in filter efficiency occurring on avoiding the conventionally unavoidable gas throughput by a new process is explained. Finally a conceivable combination of apparatus for performing the described process is sketched.  相似文献

A new refining technique is described in which the normal earth-bleaching process is replaced by a treatment of the neutral oil, in light petroleum solution, on a column of activated alumina. The products are generally of somewhat improved color and have considerably longer keeping times compared with conventional oils. The application of the process on the semi-large seale is described. Miscella refining of crude cottonseed oil has become a generally accepted commercial process for the past 20 years. The simple and efficient continuous process for removal of undesirable impurities is described, having changed little in its basic form since discovery 40 years ago. The individual unit processes, control systems, process flow charts, chemical reactions and oil-to-hexane ratios used in miscella refining are described. A new process is described in which ultra-oriented polymers are produced by drawing a billet of initially isotropic polymer through a converging die. The process, called die-drawing, has been used to make oriented polypropylene rods with room temperature Young's moduli up to 20.6 GPa. The considerable advantages of this process compared with conventional tensile drawing and hydrostatic or ram extrusion are discussed.  相似文献

Summary A process for making break-free soybean oil is described in which crude oil is treated with a small amount of an organic acid anhydride and then degummed by water addition and phase separation. The break-free oil can be used for industrial applications or processed to an edible grade of oil without alkali-refining. Laboratory data are presented, comparing quality of edible oils, processing losses, and composition of deodorizer distillates of alkali-refined soybean oils with oils prepared by the degumming process described in this paper.  相似文献
