In this paper, we studied the channel estimation problem for the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system when the statistics of the multi-path fading channel is not known or partial known. A channel estimation approach based on polynomial approximation of the channel response is proposed. The pilot symbols are periodically inserted the channel responses for entire OFDM data sequence for exploiting channel correlation in both time and frequency domain, which is obtained from a time-variant frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel model. Simulation shows that the method is robust to different channel statistics. Moreover, a window dimension adaptation algorithm is proposed to adapt the channel estimator to the channel statistics which further improves the robustness of the system.  相似文献

在OFDM系统中,准确的信道估计是对抗瑞利衰落信道中信道干扰的关键。提出了一种对OFDM信道估计的新方法,利用CR Spline函数的插值方法,设计一个特定的导频结构,从而导出信道估计的CR Spline函数形式,用该函数近似信道衰落包络。实验结果表明,仅用少量导频就可以近似出信道特性,并具有良好的平滑性。计算机仿真证明了提出算法的有效性。  相似文献

Uncoded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission technique applied in a multipath environment has a bit error rate (BER) comparable with a narrowband radio channel because the fading of each subcarrier is frequency-nonselective. To overcome this behaviour and to reduce the BER, a combination of OFDM and CDMA has been proposed recently. In an OFDM-CDMA system the energy of each information symbol is spread over several subcarriers. Therefore a diversity gain can be obtained in a broadband fading channel.In this paper we discuss the performance of OFDM-CDMA with coherent QPSK signalling over a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel. Channel estimation and demodulation are integral parts that determine the performance of the system. The method for channel estimation presented in this paper is based on a two-dimensional array of pilot symbols with second-order regression in the time domain and interpolation in the frequency domain. Quantitative comparison of four different detection algorithms in frequency-selective Rayleigh fading with noisy channel state information (CSI) will be presented in this paper: conventional correlation (equal gain correlation, EGC), orthogonality restoring correlation (ORC), ORC with a threshold in order to suppress subcarriers with low signal strength (TORC), and an iterative improvement based on a maximum likelihood approach. With TORC and iterative improvement a gain of approximately 9 dB over conventional OFDM can be obtained at a BER of 10–3 in Rayleigh fading.  相似文献

提出了一种基于判决反馈机制的信道估计方法,采用少量导频估计出初始信道信息,再从接收端检测出的符号中选取一组包含了少量错误的符号作为准导频,反馈到信道估计器,与初始的导频一起构成数量更多的导频序列,经过几次迭代,达到提高信道估计精度的目的。为提高初始估计的精度。信道估计采用了一种频域分集的方法。计算机仿真表明,在多径瑞利衰落信道下,本文的方法可以在较低的复杂度下有效地提高信道估计的精度,在MMSE接收条件下,系统具有良好的误比特率(BER)性能。  相似文献

Channel estimation techniques for OFDM systems based on a pilot arrangement are investigated. Channel estimation based on a comb type pilot arrangement is studied through different algorithms for both estimating the channel at pilot frequencies and interpolating the channel. Channel estimation at pilot frequencies is based on LS and LMS methods while channel interpolation is done using linear interpolation, second order interpolation, low-pass interpolation, spline cubic interpolation, and time domain interpolation. Time-domain interpolation is obtained by passing to the time domain by means of IDFT (inverse discrete Fourier transform), zero padding and going back to the frequency domain by DFT (discrete Fourier transform). In addition, channel estimation based on a block type pilot arrangement is performed by sending pilots in every sub-channel and using this estimation for a specific number of following symbols. We have also implemented a decision feedback equalizer for all sub-channels followed by periodic block-type pilots. We have compared the performances of all schemes by measuring bit error rates with 16QAM, QPSK, DQPSK and BPSK as modulation schemes, and multipath Rayleigh fading and AR based fading channels as channel models.  相似文献

A feature-suppressed orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system and the corresponding channel estimation and intersymbol interference (ISI) mitigation techniques are investigated in this paper. Cyclic prefix (CP) and pilot tones, which are commonly used in civilian OFDM systems for ISI mitigation and channel estimation, create distinctive waveform features that can be easily used for synchronization and channel estimation purposes by intercepting receivers. As a result, CP and pilot tones are eliminated in the proposed feature suppressed OFDM system to reduce the interception probability. Instead, a set of specially designed OFDM symbols, driven by different pseudorandom sequences, are employed as preambles to avoid unique spectral signature. These preambles are inserted into the OFDM data symbol stream periodically and in a round-robin manner. In addition, a random frequency offset is introduced to each preamble to further mask the multicarrier signature. New challenges arising from these feature suppression efforts are studied, including robust channel estimation and demodulation techniques in the presence of frequency offset and severe interference. Based on our interference analysis, an iterative ISI and intercarrier interference (ICI) estimation-cancellation-based technique is proposed for both channel estimation and OFDM data demodulation. Our channel estimator performs joint frequency offset and channel impulse response estimation based on the maximum-likelihood (ML) principle. To reduce its complexity, we employ a number of techniques, which include approximation of the ML metrics, as well as fast Fourier transform pruning. The performances and feasibility of the proposed feature suppressed OFDM system and the channel estimator are analyzed and verified through numerical simulations.  相似文献

提出了一种在瑞利衰落信道中移动多载波调制(OFDM)接收机的Doppler Spread估计方法.利用OFDM符号所固有的循环前缀,采用自相关检测方法,可以较准确地估计由于移动接收机运动所引起的Doppler Spread.在保证OFDM循环符号结构的条件下,不需要增加辅助导频和训练序列,可以直接用于普通OFDM接收机,以及采用发送分集(TD)和多输入输出(MIMO)技术的移动OFDM通信系统.理论分析和实验结果证明了方案的可行性.  相似文献

Trellis-coded modulation (TCM) is a power and bandwidth efficient signaling scheme. In this letter, we propose interleaved trellis-coded (TC) 8DPSK/OFDM combined with decision-directed (DD) channel estimation on frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channels. We use a subchannel block interleaver in an OFDM symbol interval to randomize the burst errors due to the correlated dispersive fading channel. We also use DD channel estimation using the previous detected 8DPSK symbols in the temporal direction to improve the performance at fast fading. 提出了一种基于直接判决的OFDM系统的快时变信道估计方法。采用了直接判决算法进行信道估计,并从中选择有效的估计结果,联合导频信号进行信道跟踪。将基于训练序列的信道估计结果作为直接判决算法的初始值,利用传输信号直接判决的统计特性进行了信道估计,并利用改进的导频算法进一步地跟踪信道在时间上的变化。Simulink仿真结果表明,该估计算法适用于时变信道,比基于导频的信道估计方法和基于训练序列的信道估计方法效果都要好。  相似文献

In this article, channel estimation for space-time coded orthogonal-frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems is considered. By assuming that the channel frequency response is quasi-static over two consecutive OFDM symbols, we develop channel parameter estimators based on the use of space-time block coded (STBC) training blocks. Using an STBC training pattern, a low-rank Wiener filter-based channel estimator with a significant complexity reduction is proposed. A simplified approach for the optimal low-rank estimator is also proposed to further reduce the estimator complexity while retaining an accurate frequency domain channel estimation. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed low complexity channel estimators for space-time trellis coded OFDM systems.  相似文献

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) with pilot symbol assisted channel estimation is a promising technique for high rate transmissions over wireless frequency-selective fading channels. In this paper, we analyze the symbol error rate (SER) performance of OFDM with M-ary phase-shift keying (M-PSK) modulation over Rayleigh-fading channels, in the presence of channel estimation errors. Both least-squares error (LSE) and minimum mean-square error (MMSE) channel estimators are considered. For prescribed power, our analysis not only yields exact SER formulas, but also quantifies the performance loss due to channel estimation errors. We also optimize the number of pilot symbols, the placement of pilot symbols, and the power allocation between pilot and information symbols, to minimize this loss, and thereby minimize SER. Simulations corroborate our SER performance analysis, and numerical results are presented to illustrate our optimal claims.  相似文献

We propose a new scheme for pilot-symbol-aided channel estimation in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems in multipath fading channels, that does not require knowledge of the channel statistics (e.g., Doppler or power spectrum). It is based on using the radial basis function (RBF) network to model the dynamics of the fading process. Both one-dimensional and two-dimensional RBF networks are proposed to exploit the channel correlation in the time domain and in the time-frequency domain. The proposed RBF networks are essentially nonlinear interpolators of the pilot channels. Compared with the existing OFDM channel estimation methods based on linear filtering, the proposed new techniques offer both robustness to fading rate, and a better performance especially in relatively fast fading channels.  相似文献

在OFDM 系统中,限幅常用于抑制信号的峰平比,而限幅会引入额外的限幅噪声,以致干扰数据和导引符号,恶化传输性能.本文针对限幅OFDM系统,提出一种基于导引符号的限幅噪声消除算法.该算法在插入导引符号之前,滤除位于导引位置的限幅噪声,从而改善信道估计性能.在此基础上,本文还提出了利用迭代算法以进一步提高信道估计精确度.本文对所提出的限幅噪声消除算法及迭代算法进行了仿真验证,结果表明,新算法能够明显改善信道估计,优化传输性能.  相似文献

As an effective technique for combating multipath fading and for high data rate transmission over wireless channels, orthogonal frequ- ency division multiplexing (OFDM) is extensively used in wireless local area network (WLAN) systems to support high-performance bandwidth- efficient multimedia services. In this paper, a robust channel estimation scheme is proposed for the OFDM-based WLAN systems with imperfect synchronization. The frame structure information, the preamble information, the pilot information are efficiently utilized in the proposed channel estimation scheme. 在多输入多输出(MIMO)-正交频分复用(OFDM) 系统中,怎样在较高频谱利用率的情况下对快时变信道进行较为准确的估计是一个具有挑战性的课题。该文在利用压缩感知理论可提高系统频谱利用率的基础上,提出了一种适合于快时变环境下MIMO-OFDM 系统的稀疏自适应信道估计方法。该方法不再受到奈奎斯特采样频率条件约束,避免了传统导频辅助信道估计方法频谱利用率低的缺点。该文方法通过构建多天线群时频结构特征稀疏基,利用多天线间和群时变OFDM符号内信道冲激响应具有更强稀疏性的特点,对MIMO-OFDM快衰落信道进行稀疏变换。由于实际MIMO-OFDM快衰落信道往往处于频率选择性、时变性和多种干扰并存的复杂环境,受到干扰的信道参数对系统而言是未知,采用该方法克服了现有基于压缩感知理论的信道估计方法需要预先知道信道冲激响应稀疏度才能重构信道参数的不足,在信道稀疏度未知道的情况下,运用稀疏自适应的方法来对不同时频结构特征的信道参数进行估计。仿真结果表明所提估计方法具有对快时变信道参数估计的鲁棒性和较高频谱利用率,且均方误差小。   相似文献

We proposed a novel interleaving technique for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), namely adaptive interleaving, which can break the bursty channel errors more effectively than traditional block interleaving. The technique rearranges the symbols according to instantaneous channel state information of the OFDM subcarriers so as to reduce or minimize the bit error rate (BER) of each OFDM frame. It is well suited to OFDM systems because the channel state information (CSI) values of the whole frame could be estimated at once when transmitted symbols are framed in the frequency dimension. Extensive simulations show that the proposed scheme can greatly improve the performance of the coded modulation systems utilizing block interleaving. Furthermore, we show that the adaptive interleaving out performs any other static interleaving schemes, even in the fast fading channel (with independent fading between symbols). We derived a semi-analytical bound for the BER of the adaptive interleaving scheme under correlated Rayleigh fading channels. 本文针对频率选择性衰落环境下结合正交频分复用技术的放大转发多中继协同通信系统,提出了基于导频频分复用的频域信道估计算法,包括最小二乘(LS)估计算法和线性最小均方误差(LMMSE)估计算法。理论分析和仿真结果表明,该算法不仅成功分辨了多中继协同通信系统的所有频域信道衰落系数,避免了各中继节点转发的导频符号在目的节点上的混叠干扰,而且减少了频域信道估计所需的导频符号数量和时隙周期长度,提高了协同通信系统的传输效率和频谱利用率,同时显著提高了信道估计的精度,降低了算法的复杂度,具有较高的实用价值。   相似文献

One of the principal disadvantages of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is very sensitive to carrier frequency offset. The integer frequency offset has no effect on the orthogonality among the subcarriers, but it causes a circular shift and phase rotation of the received data symbols sequence, resulting in a Bit Error Rate(BER) of 0.5. In this paper, a novel integer frequency offset estimator for OFDM is derived based on maximum likelihood estimation technique and exploration of the differential relation between two consecutive OFDM data symbol sequences in frequency domain. Its performance is compared with the conventional method by computer simulations for the additive white Gaussian noise channel and a multipath fading channel. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed estimator is better than the conventional estimator.  相似文献
