The structure of pollycrystalline C60 films prepared by sublimation from 99.9% pure C60 powder and from graphite soot was investigated by X-ray diffraction. A complex fcc (111) line was found in the former samples. Comparison of experimental and simulated (111) profiles allowed to assess quantitatively the degree of stacking disorder introduced during the growth of the film. Probabilities could be derived for continuation of already started fcc and hep sequences, thereby characterizing the statistical microstructure of the C60 films. Also, the relative magnitudes of inter- and intra-layer disorder can be estimated. The films deposited from graphite soot show a high structural disorder.  相似文献

采用物理气相传输法(PVT法)在4英寸(1英寸=25.4 mm)偏<11¯20>方向4°的4H-SiC籽晶的C面生长4H-SiC晶体。用熔融氢氧化钾腐蚀4H-SiC晶体, 并利用光学显微镜研究了晶体中的堆垛层错缺陷的形貌特征和生长过程中氮掺杂对4H-SiC晶体中堆垛层错缺陷的影响。结果显示, 4H-SiC晶片表面的基平面位错缺陷的连线对应于晶体中的堆垛层错, 并且该连线的方向平行于<1¯100>方向。相对于非故意氮掺杂生长的4H-SiC晶体, 氮掺杂生长的4H-SiC晶体中堆垛层错显著偏多。然而, 在氮掺杂生长的4H-SiC晶体的小面区域, 虽然氮浓度高于其他非小面区域, 但是该小面区域并没有堆垛层错缺陷存在, 推测这主要是由于4H-SiC晶体小面区域特有的晶体生长习性导致的。  相似文献

Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) particles were immobilized on the inner wall of a fused-silica capillary and used in a study of the interactions between LDL and neutral drugs in electrochromatography. The effect of coating parameters (pH, ionic strength of the coating solution, duration of the coating procedure) on the properties and stability of the coating was examined. The stability of the coating was highest when the pH of the coating solution was under the pI value of the LDL particles. Interactions of unmodified LDL coatings with drugs were compared with those of acetylated LDL coatings. Acetylation of LDL neutralizes the positive charge on the lysine residues of the protein component of LDL particles, and acetylated LDL was used as a reference to examine the effect of the positively charged amino acids in the unmodified coating. Under similar coating conditions, acetylated LDL coating yielded stronger EOF evidently due to the decreased number of positive charges on LDL particles. The interactions of the unmodified and acetylated LDL coatings with steroids aldosterone, testosterone, and progesterone were comparable, which indicates that the density of immobilized LDL particles is not appreciably altered by acetylation. As expected, the strength of the interactions between steroids and the LDL coating increased with hydrophobicity of the drug.  相似文献

Recently observed non-classical rotational inertial (NCRI) in solid 4He is most probably related to defects which appear during the sample preparation. We have measured the energy of the stacking fault (SF) in an hcp 4He crystal at 0.2 K. The SF creates a groove with a dihedral angle of 155±5° on the crystal surface in a quasi-equilibrium with the liquid. The obtained value for the SF energy is (0.07±0.02) mJ/m2, which is ~0.4 of the surface tension of the liquid–solid interface of 4He. Our findings suggest that the phenomenon of burst-like creation of new atomic layers might be accompanied by the creation of SFs.  相似文献

Bilayer graphene nanoribbon with a zigzag edge is investigated with the tight binding model. Two stacking structures, ?? and ??, are considered. The band splitting is seen in the ?? structure, while the splitting in the wave number direction is found in the ?? structure. The search for deformation mechanisms in nanocrystalline metals has profited from the use of molecular dynamics calculations. These simulations have revealed two possible mechanisms; grain boundary accommodation, and intragranular slip involving dislocation emission and absorption at grain boundaries. But the precise nature of the slip mechanism is the subject of considerable debate, and the limitations of the simulation technique need to be taken into consideration. Here we show, using molecular dynamics simulations, that the nature of slip in nanocrystalline metals cannot be described in terms of the absolute value of the stacking fault energy-a correct interpretation requires the generalized stacking fault energy curve, involving both stable and unstable stacking fault energies. The molecular dynamics technique does not at present allow for the determination of rate-limiting processes, so the use of our calculations in the interpretation of experiments has to be undertaken with care.  相似文献

We report the first experimental demonstration of cavity-induced resonances that occur without total internal reflection. We obtained these resonances by observing the fluorescence spectrum from the molecules enclosed within a small, lossy capillary of the type used for capillary zone electrophoresis. Even with weak reflections from the capillary inner walls, enough feedback exists to superimpose resonances on the otherwise smooth fluorescence spectrum. These resonances, commonly called morphologydependent resonances or whispering-gallery modes, have typically been observed only in cavities in which total internal reflection is present.  相似文献

Values for the burnout heat flux and critical temperature difference are measured in boiling neon on the internal surface area of vertical capillaries. A hysteresis is observed as power increases and decreases, which becomes weaker after several increases of power up to the critical heat flux point.
