Design of a high gain, small microstrip antenna with circular polarisation (CP) radiation is demonstrated. The small size of the microstrip antenna results from both the high-permittivity superstrate loading and the slits cut in the patch. In addition, the antenna gain is enhanced by setting the superstrate thickness at about one-quarter of the wavelength in the superstrate layer. A typical design with a 30%, decrease in antenna size and a 5.2 dB increase in antenna gain, as compared to the conventional CP design, is presented and analysed  相似文献

A new circularly polarized rectangular microstrip antenna using a proximity-coupled feed method is proposed in this paper. This antenna is fed by a microstrip line offset from the center of a rectangular microstrip antenna. The proposed antenna has no 90-degree hybrid coupler for circular polarization and allows easy connection between a microstrip line and an antenna element. The measured results verify the circular polarization and show that good return loss and axial ratio characteristics have been obtained  相似文献

The loading effects of the superstrate with various thickness on the circular polarisation (CP) performances of a cross-slot-coupled microstrip antenna are first investigated. Then, for improving the shifted centre frequency, the bad impedance matching, and the increased axial ratio, which are due to the superstrate effects, the key dimensions of the loaded antenna are adjusted to regain or even enhance the original unloaded CP performances. From the obtained experimental results, it is found that the CP bandwidth of the loaded antenna can be increased when the thickness of the superstrate is properly selected.  相似文献

为了简化方形切角圆极化微带天线单元的设计流程,提出了一种新颖的开槽切角圆极化微带天线单元形式。利用在微带天线单元上开矩形槽的方法,避免了调试切角圆极化单元的谐振频点和轴比时的反复迭代过程,缩短了调试时间。分析了矩形槽的不同宽度和深度对阻抗和轴比的影响,并通过仿真设计出一款性能良好的微带天线单元。单层微带天线单元仿真的最终阻抗相对带宽(S11 <-10 dB)为2. 05% (1. 980 ~ 2. 021 GHz);仿真的最终轴比相对带宽(AR<3 dB)为0. 50%(1. 995 ~2. 005 GHz)。加工了天线单元实物并进行测试,实测的阻抗相对带宽(S11 <-10 dB)为2. 05%(1. 975 ~2. 016 GHz);实测的轴比相对带宽(AR<3 dB)为0. 50% (1. 990 ~ 2. 000 GHz)。实测结果与仿真结果具有良好的一致性,验证了设计的正确性。  相似文献

With the loading of a high-permittivity superstrate layer and a 1 Ω chip resistor, a compact rectangular microstrip antenna with enhanced gain and wider bandwidth can be implemented. With the antenna size reduced to be ~6% that of a conventional patch antenna, the proposed structure can have an operating bandwidth of more than six times that of a conventional patch antenna, with an almost equal antenna gain level. RFID读写器天线的小型化一直是研究的热点之一,利用HFSS进行了一款手持RFID读写器天线的设计。通过在微带天线的贴片以及在接地板上开槽,同时在贴片上面加载高介电常数介质基片的技术,设计出了一款小型紧凑的RFID矩形微带天线。它的尺寸仅为传统微带天线的68%左右,10dB回波损耗阻抗带宽50MHz,该天线能满足RFID系统的需求。  相似文献

Experimental investigations are carried out for two configurations, namely a driven hexagonal patch and an electromagnetically coupled microstrip antenna (EMCA), with different dielectric superstrates. Superstrate loading of the antenna is found to cause a considerable shift in the resonance frequency. The driven patch with superstrate behaves as an RL network. The maximum bandwidth of 6.21% is observed for the EMCA with a bakelite superstrate when the dielectric constant of the superstrate and the substrate of the antenna are equal.  相似文献

The circular polarization condition for a rectangular microstrip patch antenna on a thin cylindrical substrate is investigated. The theoretical study is based on the modal-expansion theory, which is valid for the thin-substrate case. Numerical results for the aspect ratio of the cylindrical-rectangular patch, the optimal feed point for minimum voltage standing wave ratio and the 3-dB bandwidth for circularly polarized radiation are analyzed. The letter presents experimental results for a proximity-coupled microstrip patch antenna capable of 13% bandwidth. The impedance match (VSWR ? 2), copolarised radiation patterns and crosspolarised radiation were measured over this bandwidth to confirm operation. The construction is quite simple, consisting of a microstrip feedline on a substrate proximity-coupled to a rectangular microstrip patch on a covering superstrate; a small open-circuit tuning stub is connected in shunt with the feed line.  相似文献

A novel compact triple band slit cut circular patch antenna with superstrate is proposed; slits on the patch provide additional resonances. The superstrate (cover) of dielectric layer provides protection to printed circuit antenna from environmental hazards due to abnormal weather conditions. The slits add two resonances in the resonance of a circular patch to achieve triple band antenna for multi services. The dielectric superstrate or cover above the microstrip patch causes the change in fringing fields between the patch and ground plane. The change in fringing field is accounted to calculate the effective relative permittivity. The effective permittivity is considered to evaluate the changes in resonance frequency due to superstrate. The various parameters of the antenna have been investigated and the antenna is simulated on Ansoft’s HFSS software simulator. A prototype of antenna is fabricated to confirm the return loss by measurement using the Agilent Technologies’ N5230A PNA-L Network Analyzer. The proposed structure with superstrate possess triple band characteristics and provides protection from environmental hazards. The resonating frequencies of the bands are 7.3, 8.7 and 10.3 GHz. The analytical results are found in good agreement with the simulated results obtained by Ansoft’s HFSS and further confirmed by measurement. Antenna is worth for X band operations such as remote sensing, WPAN and military satellite communication and vehicular applications.  相似文献

In this letter, a kind of metamaterial superstrate based on rectangular metallic grids is presented to enhance the directivity of patch antenna at two frequency bands for two orthogonal polarizations. According to the periodic boundary condition, the influences of its important geometry parameters are investigated in detail by simulating its unit cell. It is found that the transmission peak frequency is intimately related to the size of rectangular metallic grid. Then, a dual band dual polarization patch antenna with metamaterial is studied and compared with conventional patch antenna. It is demonstrated that by introducing the proposed metamaterial superstrate, the gain of the patch antenna is improved by 9.5 dB at 14.1 GHz for x polarization and 12 dB at 15.4 GHz for y polarization, respectively.  相似文献

采用曲流技术在贴片内部开十字形缝隙,在贴片边缘开矩形缝隙,并通过对贴片切角形成微扰,设计了一种UHF频段小型圆极化微带天线。设计的贴片天线尺寸为59×59mm^2(即0.176λ),与相同频率相同介质的普通微带贴片天线相比有约54%的尺寸下降。天线的实测结果显示,在898—925MHz内回波损耗小于-10dB,在910—920MHz实现圆极化特性。  相似文献

A general scattering formula is derived for an arbitrary resonant conductive body within a layered medium, which shows that the body radar cross section (RCS) is directly related to the radiation efficiency of the body. The radar cross section of a rectangular microstrip patch antenna in a lossy substrate-superstrate configuration is then investigated as a specific case. This paper presents a flat four-beam compact phased array antenna. The low-cost and compact phased array antenna is designed using a circular array of four circular microstrip antennas made of low-cost material and four 1-bit phase shifters. The main beam of the antenna can be switched in four directions with the gain of about 4 dBi in each main-beam direction. More than 90° half-power beamwidth and over 10 dB F/B ratio are obtained. In addition, the diversity performance is considered and the diversity performance of this antenna can be provided with the envelope correlation about 0.6  相似文献

提出了一种单对角线开缝的方形单元构成的透射型极化旋转超表面,并将其应用于宽带圆极化微带缝隙天线的设计中。采用等效电路法分析了超表面实现线-圆极化转换的工作机制,并对天线圆极化带宽的影响因素进行了参数扫描。仿真结果表明:加载超表面使线极化微带缝隙天线产生了圆极化辐射;同时,扩展了天线的阻抗带宽。天线相对阻抗带宽达到了33.2%,3 dB轴比带宽达到了19.5%,在阻抗带宽内天线增益均高于6.8 dBi,证实了新型超表面结构具有良好的极化旋转特性。  相似文献

在传统圆极化天线的基础上,设计了一种宽带四元组合圆极化微带天线,采用双层电磁耦合馈电结构,不仅拓宽了阻抗匹配带宽,而且有效改善了天线的圆极化轴比特性。经过计算和测试,天线工作于Ku波段时,阻抗带宽和3dB轴比带宽分别达到了26.4%(VSWR<2)和8.64%。这种结构的圆极化天线在卫星通信等领域应用前景广阔。  相似文献

本文提出了一种基于切换馈电网络的极化可重构微带天线阵。阵列单元采用正方形辐射贴片,利用微带线缝隙耦合进行馈电,通过在馈电结构中心加载短路柱,可获得宽带性能的同时,有效抑制偶次谐波。综合采用串联组阵和并联组阵技术,优化设计了一款2×2的天线阵列,将阵列端口分别与微带分支线耦合器及微带混合环相连,最终实现了水平和垂直线极化,左旋和右旋圆极化四种模式的切换。实验结果表明,所提出的天线在ISM频段2.4~2.5 GHz频率范围内获得了良好的匹配和多极化特性。该天线阵设计简单、易于操作,可潜在应用于无线通信系统中天线极化分集的场合。  相似文献
