通用串行总线（ＵＳＢ）是一种正在迅速发展的高速外设总线,它具有热插拔,智能化,易于使用等特点,本文介绍几种正在迅速发展的外设总线,然后讨论了ＵＳＢ技术的原理及其工作流程和实现技术。     

税控USB终端设备安全过滤器的设计与实现

为了防止不法分子在USB设备与电脑连接时植入非法程序,从而窃取电脑中的敏感信息或控制电脑向外设发出非法指令,本文针对USB-key的接入安全问题,提出了建立黑、白名单的方案。传统的USB-key安全防范措施都是基于加密认证,未考虑税控机接入的USB设备安全性。因此,本文提出对接入的USB设备进行分类,并对不同类别的USB设备执行相应的处理方案。通过设计开发针对税控系统的硬件检测设备和软件控制程序,从物理层面对接入税控机的USB设备进行安全检测。文中给出了USB设备过滤器的硬件设计图和软件控制程序的流程图,并对几种有代表性的设备进行了测试。测试结果表明,该设备能够对USB设备合法性进行有效的检测,并对违规的USB设备做出相应的处理,提高了税控系统USB-key接入USB设备的安全性。

FireWire finally comes home

The article discusses the IEEE 1394 networking standard, otherwise known as FireWire. FireWire was designed to link personal computers, digital cameras, televisions, DVD players, printers, and other home electronics equipment. At the time FireWire seemed like a perfect idea whose time had come, but there was one small problem: a competing technology, called Universal Serial Bus (USB), promised to do nearly the same thing. Like FireWire, USB can connect multiple peripherals to a single port on the back of our computers. But USB is designed to be a simpler, slower interface that is less expensive to manufacture. Because both technologies arrived at about the same time, hardware and software vendors had to make a choice as to which technology to develop and support. USB got the nod in the Wintel world-with Windows driver support for USB peripherals as early as October 1996-but it wasn't until Windows 98 that consumers got full OS support for USB. Early support on the Wintel platform, however, could account for the large number of USB components that have been popping up over the past two years, such as speakers, joysticks, printers, video cameras, and the like, all of which have made it to market much more quickly than FireWire based technologies. The prospect of the increasing use of FireWire is discussed     

Composable IO: a novel resource sharing platform in personal Clouds

A fundamental goal for Cloud computing is to group resources to accomplish tasks that may require strong computing or communication capability. In this paper we design specific resource sharing technology under which IO peripherals can be shared among Cloud members. In particular, in a personal Cloud that is built up by a number of personal devices, IO peripherals at any device can be applied to support application running at another device. We call this IO sharing composable IO because it is equivalent to composing IOs from different devices for an application. We design composable USB and achieve pro-migration USB access, namely a migrated application running at the targeted host can still access the USB IO peripherals at the source host. This is supplementary to traditional VM migration under which application can only use resources from the device where the application runs. We address reliability issues by keeping a backup VM. In addition, we define a security framework to ensure operating environment security when using composable IO in personal environment. Experimental results show that through composable IO applications in personal Cloud can achieve much better user experience.     

Universal RS232C cable

Manufacturers of peripherals are inconsistent in their use of male or female connectors on their equipment. Combined with the increasingly common practice of producing data terminal equipment that in some respects is like data communication equipment (to cut the costs of extra null modem cables), this means that it can be very difficult to make two devices communicate over an RS232C serial link. The paper addresses the problems of incompatible male-female D-type connectors and reversed transmit-receive lines for three-wire communication. These ideas could be expanded for the problems associated with incompatible handshake lines.     

USBWall: A novel security mechanism to protect against maliciously reprogrammed USB devices

Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a popular choice of interfacing computer systems with peripherals. With the increasing support of modern operating systems, it is now truly plug-and-play for most USB devices. However, this great convenience comes with a risk that can allow a device to perform arbitrary actions at any time while it is connected. Researchers have confirmed that a simple USB device such as a mass storage device can be disguised to have an additional functionality such as a keyboard. An unauthorized keyboard attachment can compromise the security of the host by allowing arbitrary keystrokes to enter the host. This undetectable threat differs from traditional virus that spreads via USB devices due to the location where it is stored and the way it behaves. We propose a novel way to protect the host via a software/hardware solution we named a USBWall. USBWall uses BeagleBone Black (BBB), a low-cost open-source computer, to act as a middleware to enumerate the devices on behalf of the host. We developed a program to assist the user to identify the risk of a device. We present a simulated USB device with malicious firmware to the USBWall. Based on the results, we confirm that using the USBWall to enumerate USB devices on behalf of the host eliminates risks to the hosts.

在社会信息化高度发展的今天,U盘作为电脑周边设备普及率最高的产品之一,一直保持高速增长。而现在市场存在着U盘同质化现象严重的问题,几乎所有商家都仅仅只是在U盘容量和外观设计上进行改进,缺乏技术创新,U盘也没摆脱需要电脑USB插口传输数据的束缚。同时电脑、手机、PDA等电子产品都具有了蓝牙无线传输功能,通过将蓝牙模块嵌入到U盘中,并对蓝牙U盘再设计使得蓝牙U盘具备了与所有具有蓝牙模块的电子产品进行数据无线传输的功能,具有即时性、便捷性。     

基于ISP1362的USB OTG接口设计

ISP1362是飞利浦公司推出的OTG解决方案系列产品,它在单芯片上集成了一个OTG控制器、一个高级主控制器（PSHC）和一个基于飞利浦ISP1161的设备控制器。首先对USBOTG进行简介,然后介绍了ISP1362的结构特点,在此基础上设计了一种基于ISP1362的USBOTG接口模块,该接口可以工作在主／从机两种模式,作为主机可以对USB设备进行操作,作为从机可以连接主机进行工作。文中给出了接口的软硬件设计方案。     

基于蓝牙技术的传感器网络自组织模型研究

针对数字设备和计算机外设间的电缆连线不便于携带、不便于安置的问题,提出了一种运用蓝牙技术替代电缆连线进行无线组网的方案,分析了蓝牙无线组网的硬件结构,以及适合自组织网络功能的上、下住机软件结构,并分析了蓝牙组网中常用的树形网络拓扑结构。实验结果表明该方案硬件体积小,能耗低,抗干扰能力较强,具有良好的应用前景。

Securing Pocket Hard Drives

Today, affordable storage media comes in various form factors with a wide range of capacities. USB is the most popular PC interface, offering data transfer rates as high as 480 Mbps (version 2.0), with enough power to operate storage devices such as 2.5" hard-disk drives. The Fire Wire interface offers similar capabilities. A few vendors offer software that lets users synchronize their email and network folders with USB storage. This lets them access these data items from several different computers. The U3 industry consortium promotes a model that lets users run programs, such as a Firefox Web browser, directly from the USB storage device, so users can access these applications even on PCs that don't have these applications preinstalled. Similarly, commonly used live CD-ROMs let you boot a PC from an OS resident on the CD-ROM. In this new mobile computing model called portable storage-based personalization, users can personalize a computer by booting from the USB storage media. Users' portable storage devices act as a pocket hard drive.
