The hot deformation behavior of homogenized Mg–6.5Gd–1.3Nd–0.7Y–0.3Zn alloy was investigated during compression at temperatures of 250–400 ℃ and at strain rates ranging from 0.001 to 0.100 s~(-1). Microstructure analyses show that the flow behaviors are associated with the deformation mechanisms. At the lower temperatures(250–300 ℃), deformation twinning is triggered due to the difficult activation of dislocation cross-slip. Dynamic recrystallization(DRX) accompanied by dynamic precipitation occurs at the temperature of 350 ℃ and influences the softening behavior of the flow.DRX that develops extensively at original grain boundaries is the main softening mechanism at the high temperature of 400 ℃ and eventually brings a more homogeneous microstructure than that in other deformation conditions. The volume fraction of the DRXed grains increases with temperature increasing and decreases with strain rate increasing.  相似文献

The flow behavior of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy during hot compression deformation was studied by isothermal compression test using Gleeble-1500 thermo-mechanical equipment. Compression tests were performed in the temperature range of 340-500 °C and in the strain rate range of 0.001-10 s?1.The results indicate that the flow stress of the alloy increases with increasing strain rate at a given temperature, and decreases with increasing temperature at a given imposed strain rate. The relationship between flow stress and strain rate and temperature was derived by analyzing the experimental data. The constitutive equation of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy during hot compression deformation can be described by the Arrhenius relationship of the hyperbolic sine form. The values of A, n, and α in the analytical expression of strain rate are fitted to be 1.49 × 1010 s?1, 7.504, and 0.0114 MPa?1, respectively. The hot deformation activation energy of the alloy during compression is 150.25 kJ/mol. The temperature and strain rate have great influences on microstructure evolution of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy during hot compression deformation. According to microstructure evolution, the dynamic flow softening is mainly caused by dynamic recovery and dynamic recrystallization in this present experiment.  相似文献

The fine-grained microstructure of TA15 titanium alloy was prepared through two-step forging technology combined with high and low temperatures, and a transnormal superplastic elongation of more than 2000% was obtained. The superplastic behaviour and microstructure evolution were systematically researched at different temperatures and strain rates through superplastic tensile test. The results indicate that the fine-grained TA15 alloy exhibits superplasticity at temperatures of 760–980°C and initial strain rates from 1.1 × 10−2 to 5.5 × 10−5 s−1. The optimal superplastic conditions are 940°C and 3.3 × 10−4 s−1, in which the average elongation is 2526% and the maximum elongation is 2743%. During superplastic deformation, dynamic recovery and recrystallization occur obviously, and the corporate effect of strain hardening and recrystallization softening decides the superplastic ability directly.  相似文献

High-temperature deformation behavior tests of as-cast Ti-45Al-2Cr-3Ta-0.5W alloy were conducted over a wide range of strain rates (0.001-1.0 s?1) and temperatures (1150-1300 °C). The flow curves for the current alloy exhibited sharp peaks at low strain levels, followed by pronounced work hardening and flow localization at high strain levels. Phenomenological analysis of the strain rate and temperature dependence of peak stress data yielded an average value of the strain rate sensitivity equal to 0.25 and an apparent activation energy of ~420 kJ/mol. Processing maps were established under different deformation conditions, and the optimal condition for hot work on this material was determined to be 1250 °C/0.001 s?1. The stable deformation region was also found to decrease with increasing strain. Dynamic recrystallization (DRX) was the major softening mechanism controlling the growth of grains at the grain boundary. Meanwhile, local globularization and dynamic recovery (DR) were the main softening mechanisms in the lamellar colony. When deformed at higher temperatures (~1300 °C), the cyclic DRX and DR appeared to dominate the deformation. Moreover, the evolution of the β phase during hot deformation played an important role in the dynamic softening of the alloy.  相似文献

Isothermal compression testing of Ti555211 titanium alloys was carried out at deformation temperatures from 750 to 950 °C in 50 °C intervals with a strain rate of0.001–1.000 s~(-1). The high-temperature deformation behavior of the Ti555211 alloy was characterized by analysis of stress–strain behavior, kinetics and processing maps. A constitutive equation was formulated to describe the flow stress as a function of deformation temperature and strain rate, and the calculated apparent activation energies are found to be 454.50 and 207.52 k J mol~(-1)in the a b-phase and b-phase regions, respectively. A processing map based on the Murty instability criterion was developed at a strain of 0.7. The maps exhibit two domains of peak efficiency from 750 to 950 °C. A *60 % peak efficiency occurs at 800–850 °C/0.001–0.010 s~(-1). The other peak efficiency of *60 % occurs at C950 °C/0.001–0.010 s~(-1), which can be considered to be the optimum condition for high-temperature working of this alloy. However, at strain rates of higher than 1.000 s~(-1)and deformation temperatures of 750 and 950 °C, clear process flow lines and bands of flow localization occur in the hightemperature deformation process, which should be avoided in Ti555211 alloy hot processing. The mechanism in stability domain and instability domain was also discussed.  相似文献

High-performance bearing steel requires a fine and homogeneous structure of carbide particles. Direct deformation spheroidizing of bearing steel in a dual-phase zone can contribute to achieving this important structure. In this work, warm compression testing of 52100 bearing steel was performed at temperatures in the range of 650–850°C and at strain rates of 0.1–10.0 s?1. The effect of deformation temperatures on mechanical behavior and microstructure evolution was investigated to determine the warm deformation temperature window. The effect of deformation rates on microstructure evolution and metal flow softening behavior of the warm compression was analyzed and discussed. Experimental results showed that the temperature range from 750°C to 800°C should be regarded as the critical range separating warm and hot deformation. Warm deformation at temperatures in the range of 650–750°C promoted carbide spheroidization, and this was determined to be the warm deformation temperature window. Metal flow softening during the warm deformation was caused by carbide spheroidization.  相似文献

Hot deformation behavior and processing maps of the 2099 Al-Li alloy are investigated by tensile test at the temperature range from 250 to 450 °C and the strain rate range from 0.001 to 5.0 s?1. The typical true stress-true strain curves show that the flow stress increases with increasing the strain rate and decreasing the deforming temperature. All curves exhibit rapid work hardening at an initial stage of strain followed by remarkable dynamic softening. Based on the flow stress behavior, the processing maps are calculated and analyzed according to the dynamic materials model (DMM). The processing maps exhibit an instability domain in the temperature and strain rate ranges: T = 250-260 °C and \(\dot{\upvarepsilon }\)  = 0.1-0.5 s?1. The maps also exhibit an optimum hot working condition in the stability domain that occurs in the temperature of 400 °C for a strain rate of 0.001 s?1 and having a maximum efficiency of 60%. The microstructural examinations exhibit the occurrence of dynamic recovery (DRV) during hot deformation of the 2099 alloy which is the dominant softening mechanism in the alloy. The fracture behavior changes from a brittle fracture to a ductile fracture as strain rate decreases and temperature increases.  相似文献

Hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of TC4 titanium alloy   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The hot deformation behavior of Ti-6Al-4V(TC4) titanium alloy was investigated in the temperature range from 650 °C to 950 °C with the strain rate ranging from 7.7×10-4 s-1 to 7.7×10-2 s-1.The hot tension test results indicate that the flow stress decreases with increasing the deformation temperature and increases with increasing the strain rate.XRD analysis result reveals that only deformation temperature affects the phase constitution. The microstructure evolution under different deformation conditions was characterized by TEM observation. For the deformation of TC4 alloy, the work-hardening is dominant at low temperature, while the dynamic recovery and dynamic re-crystallization assisted softening is dominant at high temperature.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of an ultra-pure 17%Cr ferritic stainless steel was studied in the temperature range of 750–1000 °C and strain rates of 0.5 to 10 s?1 using isothermal hot compression tests in a thermomechanical simulator. The microstructural evolution was investigated using electron backscattered diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. A modified constitutive equation considering the effect of strain on material constant was developed, which predicted the flow stress for the deformation conditions studied, except at 950 °C in 1 s?1 and 900 °C in 10 s?1. Decreasing deformation temperature and increasing strain was beneficial in refining the microstructure. Decreasing deformation temperature, the in-grain shear bands appeared in the microstructure. It is suggested that the dynamic softening mechanism is closely related to deformation temperature. At low deformation temperature, dynamic recovery was major softening mechanism and no dynamic recrystallization occurred. At high deformation temperature, dynamic softening was explained in terms of efficient dynamic recovery and limited continuous dynamic recrystallization. A drop in the flow stress was not found due to very small fraction of new grains nucleated during dynamic recrystallization.  相似文献

The hot deformation mechanisms of an as-extruded Ti-44Al-5V-1Cr alloy with a large amount of remnant lamellae were investigated by hot compression tests at temperatures of 900-1250 °C and strain rates of 0.001-1 s?1. The hot processing map of the as-extruded Ti-44Al-5V-1Cr alloy was developed on the basis of dynamic materials modeling and the Prasad criteria. There were four different domains in the hot processing map, according to the efficiency of power dissipation, η. The flow soft and hot deformation mechanisms for different domains were illustrated in the context of microstructural evolution during the process of deformation. As a result, the dynamic recrystallization and superplastic deformation occurred at 1125-1150 °C near 0.001 s?1, and this region is suitable for superplastic forming. The α phase dynamic recrystallization and dynamic recovery occurred at 1250 °C and 0.1 s?1. The existence of small amount of the γ and β phases effectively inhibited the growth of α grains.  相似文献

The superplastic behavior and deformation mechanism of a heat-resistant Al–Cu–Mg–Ag–Mn alloy prepared by ingot metallurgy was investigated by using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. It is shown that the Al–Cu–Mg–Ag–Mn alloy shows good superplastic properties at temperatures higher than 450 °C and strain rates lower than 10?2 s?1. A maximum elongation-to-failure of 320% was observed at 500 °C and 5 × 10?4 s?1, where the corresponding strain rate sensitivity index m is 0.58 and the flow stress σ is 5.7 MPa. Microstructure studies revealed that the observed superplastic behavior resulted from severe grain elongation rather than grain boundary sliding. It is suggested that this phenomenon may provide a new concept for developing superplastic materials.  相似文献

The high temperature deformation behaviors of Ti-45Al-2Nb-1.5V-1Mo-Y alloy were investigated in the temperature range 1100–1250 °C and the strain rate range 0.001–1.0 s?1. The true stress-strain curves exhibit typical work hardening and flow softening features; The peak stress of current alloy decreases with increasing temperature and decreasing strain rate, which can be represented by a hyperbolic sine equation using the Zener-Hollomon parameter. Thanks to the additions of element Mo and V, and the resulting B2 phase, this alloy possesses a low activation energy value of 370 kJ/mol, as well as a wide processing window of temperature above 1150 °C and strain rate under 0.1 s?1. The deformed microstructure consists of dominated DRX areas plus several remnant lamellar colonies; the inhomogeneous deformation microstructure is ascribed to the anisotropic plastic flow of lamellar colonies. By TEM observation and EBSD analysis further, the deformation mechanism of current alloy is concluded as dislocation slip and mechanical twins.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of AMS 5708 nickel-based superalloy was investigated by means of hot compression tests and a processing map in the temperature range of 950-1200 °C and a strain rate range of 0.01-1 s?1 was constructed. The true stress-true strain curves showed that the maximum flow stress decreases with the increase of temperature and decrease of strain rate. The developed processing map based on experimental data, showed variations of efficiency of power dissipation relating to temperature and strain rate at constant strain. Interpretation of the processing map showed one stable domain, in which dynamic recrystallization was the dominant microstructural phenomenon, and one instability domain with flow localization. The results of interpretation of flow stress curves and processing map were verified by the microstructure observations. There are two optimum conditions for hot working of this alloy with efficiency peak of 0.36: the first is at 1150 °C for a strain rate of 1 s?1 that produces a fine grained microstructure. The second is at 1200 °C for a strain rate of 0.01 s?1 that produces a coarse grained microstructure.  相似文献

MgLiAl alloy containing 9 wt% Li and 1.5% Al composed of hexagonal α and bcc β phases was cast under protecting atmosphere and hot extruded. Various methods of severe plastic deformation were applied to study their effect on structure and grain refinement. Rods were subjected to 1–3 passes of Twist Channel Angular Pressing TCAP (with helical component), cyclic compression to total strain ε?=?5 using MAXStrain Gleeble equipment, both performed at temperature interval 160–200 °C and, as third SPD method, KOBO type extrusion at RT. The TCAP pass resulted in grain refinement of α phase from 30 μm down to about 2 μm and that of β phase from 12 to 5 μm. Maxstrain cycling 10?× up to ε?=?5 led to much finer grain size of 300 nm. KOBO method performed at RT caused average grain size refinement of α and β phases down to about 1 μm. Hardness of alloy decreased slightly with increasing number of TCAP passes due to increase of small void density. It was higher after MAXStrain cycling and after KOBO extrusion. TEM studies after TCAP passes showed higher dislocation density in the β region than in the α phase. Crystallographic relationship (001) α|| (110) β indicated parallel positioning of slip planes of both phases. Electron diffraction technique confirmed increase of grain misorientation with number of TCAP passes. Stress/strain curves recorded at temperature 200 °C showed superplastic forming after 1st and 3rd TCAP passes with better superplastic properties due to higher elongation with increasing number of passes. Values of strain rate sensitivity coefficient m were calculated at 0.29 after 3rd TCAP pass for strain rate range 10?5 to 5?×?10?3 s?1. Deformation by MAXStrain cycling caused much more effective grain refinement with fine microtwins in α phase. Superplastic deformation was also observed in alloy deformed by KOBO method, however the value of m?=?0.21 was obtained at lower temperature of deformation equal to 160 °C and deformation rate in the range 10?5 to 5?×?10?3. Tensile samples deformed superplastically showed grain growth and void formation caused by grain boundary slip. Summarizing, all methods applied resulted in sufficient grain refinement to obtain the effect of superplastic deformation for alloys of two phase α?+?β structure.  相似文献

The microstructure and mechanical properties improve substantially by hot working. This aspect in as-cast Mg-7.7Al-0.4Zn (AZ80) alloy is investigated by compression tests over temperature range of 30-439°C and at strain rates of 5 × 10?2, 10?2, 5 × 10?4 and 10?4 s?1. The stress exponent (n) and activation energy (Q) were evaluated and analyzed for high-temperature deformation along with the microstructures. Upon deformation to a true strain of 0.80, which corresponds to the pseudo-steady-state condition, n and Q were found to be 5 and 151 kJ/mol, respectively. This suggests the dislocation climb-controlled mechanism for deformation. Prior to attaining the pseudo-steady-state condition, the stress-strain curves of AZ80 Mg alloy exhibit flow hardening followed by flow softening depending on the test temperature and strain rate. The microstructures obtained upon deformation revealed dissolution of Mg17Al12 particles with concurrent grain growth of α-matrix. The parameters like strain rate sensitivity and activation energy were analyzed for describing the microstructure evolution also as a function of strain rate and temperature. This exhibited similar trend as seen for deformation per se. Thus, the mechanisms for deformation and microstructure evolution are suggested to be interdependent.  相似文献

Hot compression tests of the Cu–Fe–P alloys (KFC alloy and C194 alloy) were performed on Gleeble 1500 system at strain rates ranged between 0.01 and 10 s?1 and temperatures between 650 and 850 °C. The results show that the flow stress and deformed microstructure strongly depend on the Fe contents. For the KFC alloy, the true stress–true strain curves are characterized by multiple peaks or a single peak flow, followed by a steady state flow stress, mainly related to dynamic recrystallization. For C194 alloy, the true stress–true strain curves exhibit a peak stress in the initial stage of deformation, after which the flow stress decreases monotonically, dynamic particles coarsening seemed to be responsible for flow softening. The values of deformation activation energy for the KFC alloy and the C194 alloy are 289 and 316 kJ/mol, respectively. Both are higher than that of the polycrystalline copper. The increase of deformation activation energy of the Cu–Fe–P alloys is due to the existence of the Fe-rich particles, which act as obstacles for the dislocation movement, and lead to a increase of the flow stress.  相似文献

The flow behaviors of PM titanium aluminide alloy were studied by isothermal compression simulation test. The apparent activation energy of deformation was calculated to be 313.53 kJ mol?1 and a constitutive equation had been established to describe the flow behavior. Processing map was developed at a strain of 0.7. With an increase of strain, two domains can be found: dynamic recrystallization and superplastic deformation, which are further confirmed by microstructural observations. The dynamic recrystallization occurs extensively at 1000 °C and 10?3 s?1, with a peak efficiency of 50%, and the superplastic deformation occurs at 1100 °C and 10?3 s?1, with a peak efficiency of 60%. At a strain rate higher than 10?1 s?1, the alloy exhibits flow instability.  相似文献

The hot deformation behavior of a novel imitation-gold copper alloy was investigated with Gleeble–1500 thermo-mechanical simulator in the temperature range of 650–770 °C and strain rate range of 0.001–1.0 s?1. The hot deformation constitutive equation was established and the thermal activation energy was obtained to be 249.60 kJ/mol. The processing map at a strain of 1.2 was developed. And there are two optimal regions in processing map, namely 650–680 °C, 0.001–0.01 s?1 and 740–770 °C, 0.01–0.1 s?1. Optical microscopy was employed to investigate the microstructure evolution of the alloy in the process of deformation. Recrystallized grains and twin crystals were found in microstructures of the hot deformed alloy.  相似文献

Hot deformation behavior of extrusion preform of the spray-formed Al–9.0Mg–0.5Mn–0.1Ti alloy was studied using hot compression tests over deformation temperature range of 300–450 °C and strain rate range of 0.01–10 s?1. On the basis of experiments and dynamic material model, 2D processing maps and 3D power dissipation maps were developed for identification of exact instability regions and optimization of hot processing parameters. The experimental results indicated that the efficiency factor of energy dissipate (η) lowered to the minimum value when the deformation conditions located at the strain of 0.4, temperature of 300 °C and strain rate of 1 s?1. The softening mechanism was dynamic recovery, the grain shape was mainly flat, and the portion of high angle grain boundary (>15°) was 34%. While increasing the deformation temperature to 400 °C and decreasing the strain rate to 0.1 s?1, a maximum value of η was obtained. It can be found that the main softening mechanism was dynamic recrystallization, the structures were completely recrystallized, and the portion of high angle grain boundary accounted for 86.5%. According to 2D processing maps and 3D power dissipation maps, the optimum processing conditions for the extrusion preform of the spray-formed Al–9.0Mg–0.5Mn–0.1Ti alloy were in the deformation temperature range of 340–450 °C and the strain rate range of 0.01–0.1 s?1 with the power dissipation efficiency range of 38%–43%.  相似文献

Compression tests of 7050 aluminum alloy have been conducted at different temperatures (340, 380, 420, and 460 °C) and different strain rates of 0.1, 1, 10, and 100 s?1. The microstructure characteristics of the alloy after deformation are investigated using OM, electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) technique and TEM. Results show that the volume fraction of recrystallized grains and the average misorientation angle increase with the increase of deformation temperature with the strain rate of 0.1 s?1. When the 7050 aluminum alloys were deformed at 460 °C, the volume fraction of recrystallized grains and average misorientation angle decrease with increasing strain rate. The primary softening mechanism of the 7050 aluminum alloy deformed at 340, 380, and 420 °C with the strain rate of 0.1 s?1 is dynamic recovery. Dynamic recrystallization is the main softening mechanism of the alloy deformed at 460 °C and different strain rates. The softening mechanism of the alloy is not sensitive to strain rate.  相似文献
