OBJECTIVE: It has previously been suggested that Alzheimer's disease patients have higher resting energy requirements than healthy individuals, which may contribute to their unexplained weight loss. We examined whether resting metabolic rate, the largest component of daily energy expenditure, is elevated in Alzheimer's patients compared with healthy older controls. DESIGN: Cross-sectional. SETTING: General Clinical Research Center and Baltimore VA Medical Center. PATIENTS: Twenty-five noninstitutionalized demented patients (74 +/- 8 years; mean +/- SD) with a wide range of Mini-Mental Examination scores (1 to 20) and 73 healthy older individuals (69 +/- 7 years). MEASUREMENTS: Resting metabolic rate was measured by indirect calorimetry, fat-free mass and fat mass by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, and daily energy intake by food diaries. RESULTS: No differences in fat-free mass and fat mass were noted between Alzheimer's disease patients and healthy older controls. Resting metabolic rate was similar in Alzheimer's disease patients (5446 +/- 962 kJ/day) and healthy older individuals (5647 +/- 887 kJ/day). These results persisted when resting metabolic rate was statistically adjusted for differences in body composition and age. CONCLUSION: These results provide no evidence for an elevation in resting energy requirements in noninstitutionalized demented patients.  相似文献

Children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) typically gain weight at excessive rates during and after therapy, and a high proportion of young adult survivors are obese. Previous studies have failed to identify the abnormalities in energy balance that predispose these children to obesity. The aim of this study was to determine the cause of excess weight gain in children treated for ALL by testing the hypothesis that energy expenditure is reduced in these patients. Twenty children [9 boys, 11 girls; mean age 10.9 (3.2) y] treated for ALL who had shown excess weight gain, but were not obese [mean body mass index SD score 0.70 (1.04)], were closely and individually matched with 20 healthy control children [9 boys, 11 girls; mean age 10.7 (3.0) y; mean body mass index SD score 0.27 (0.91)]. In each child we measured total energy expenditure by doubly-labeled water method, resting energy expenditure, energy expended on habitual physical activity, and energy intake. Total energy expenditure was significantly higher in control subjects than in patients: mean paired difference 1185 kJ/d (282 kcal/d), 95% confidence interval (CI) 218-2152. This difference was largely due to reduced energy expended on habitual physical activity in the patients. Resting energy expenditure was lower in the patients: mean paired difference 321 kJ/d (76 kcal/d), 95% CI 100-541. Energy intake was also lower in the patients: mean paired difference 1001 kJ/d (238 kcal/d), 95% CI 93-1909. Children treated for ALL are predisposed to excess weight gain, and subsequently obesity, by reduced total energy expenditure secondary to reduced habitual physical activity. Prevention of obesity in ALL should focus on modest increases in habitual physical activity, modest restriction of dietary intake, and monitoring of excess weight gain.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To measure energy expenditures of Alaskan sled dogs at rest and during racing under frigid conditions, using the doubly labeled water (DLW) technique. ANIMALS: 18 fit Alaskan sled dogs. PROCEDURE: Energy expenditure was measured in 9 dogs during a 490-km sled dog race by use of the DLW technique, whereby dogs were administered water enriched with nonradioactive isotopes of hydrogen and oxygen. Energy intake was determined by dietary analysis. Changes in background abundance of the isotopes 2H and 18O were monitored in 5 dogs that did not receive isotope-enriched water. RESULTS: Dogs completed the 490-km race at an average speed of 7 km/h at ambient temperature of -35 to -10 C. Total energy expenditure, measured by the DLW technique, was 47,100 +/- 5,900 kJ/d (4,400 +/- 400 kJ.kg-0.75/d), and metabolizable energy intake was 44,600 kJ/d (4,100 kJ.kg-0.75/d) during the 70-hour race. CONCLUSIONS: The sustained metabolic rate for these sled dogs during racing was extraordinarily high for a large mammal. This study validated use of the DLW technique in dogs with exceptionally high energy expenditure associated with prolonged exercise in the cold.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Leptin is the product of ob gene shown to regulate body fat in mice. It is produced by human adipose tissue as well, but its physiological functions in man are not known. We explored if there is a relationship in obese humans with serum leptin and energy and fuel metabolism. DESIGN: Cross-sectional study including 45 obese (10 men, 35 women; age and body mass index: 42 +/- 7 y and 35.1 +/- 3.6 kg/m2, respectively). MEASUREMENTS: Food intake by a four-day-food record, blood samples for serum leptin concentrations and resting energy expenditure by indirect calorimetry. RESULTS: Leptin concentrations showed an inverse association (adjusted for fat mass, age and sex) with resting energy expenditure, respiratory quotient and carbohydrate oxidation rate (r = -0.324, P < 0.05; r = -0.420, P < 0.01; r = 0.478, P = < 0.01, respectively), and interestingly, also with dietary fat intake (unadjusted r = -0.30, P < 0.05). Especially, leptin concentrations were elevated in those with low resting energy expenditure and respiratory quotient (below the median). CONCLUSION: Serum leptin concentrations in obese subjects showed an inverse association with resting energy expenditure, respiratory quotient and carbohydrate oxidation rate. The physiological significance of these associations is unclear at the moment but could indicate that obese subjects show resistance to the actions of leptin also outside the brain in terms of regulating metabolic rate and fuel metabolism.  相似文献

This study examined differences between long-term exercising (LE) and long-term nonexercising (LNE) women [n = 24; age 56.4 +/- 6.2 (SD) yr] for resting metabolic rate (RMR) and energy expenditure in the free-living state by using doubly labeled water (DLW). There was a statistically significant difference (P = 0.0002) between the 12 LE (94.85 +/- 8.44 kJ . kg-1 . day-1) and 12 LNE (81.16 +/- 6.62 kJ . kg-1 . day-1) for RMR, but this difference was only marginally significant (P = 0.06) when the data (MJ/day) were subjected to an analysis of covariance with fat-free mass as the covariate. The DLW data indicated that the eight most active LE (12.99 +/- 3.58 MJ/day) expended significantly (P = 0.01) more energy than did the eight least active LNE (9.30 +/- 1.15 MJ/day). Energy expenditures ranged from 7.64 to 18.15 MJ/day, but there was no difference (P = 0.96) between the LE and LNE in energy expenditure during activity that was not designed to either improve or maintain fitness. These cross-sectional data on 49- to 70-yr-old women therefore suggest that 1) aerobic-type training results in a greater RMR per unit of body mass and also when statistical control is exerted for the effect of the metabolically active fat-free mass, 2) there is a large range in the energy intake necessary to maintain energy balance, and 3) aerobic training does not result in a compensatory reduction in energy expenditure during the remainder of the day.  相似文献

Intervention studies have shown that the adaptation of fat oxidation to fat intake, when changing the dietary fat content, is not abrupt. This study was conducted to measure the time course of adaptation of oxidation rates to increases in the fat content of the diet, when feeding subjects at energy balance. Twelve healthy, non-obese males and females (age: 26 +/- 2, BMI: 21.4 +/- 0.5, habitual fat intake: 29 +/- 1% energy) consumed a low-fat diet for 6 days (days 1-6) followed by a high-fat diet for 7 days (day 7-13). Days 5-9 and day 13 were spent in a respiration chamber. After adjusting energy intake to 24h energy expenditure on day 5, subjects were in energy balance (range -0.15 to +0.23 kJ/day) on days 6-9 and day 13. Fat balance was zero on day 6 but became positive after changing to the high-fat diet (1.06 +/- 0.15, 0.75 +/- 0.15, and 0.55 +/- 0.14 MJ/day for days 7, 8, and 9 respectively, p. < 0.05), reaching a new balance on day 13, 7 days afterwards. Thus, in case of energy balance, lean subjects are capable of adjusting fat oxidation to fat intake within 7 days, when dietary fat content is increased.  相似文献

The adipocyte hormone leptin regulates body weight in mice by decreasing food intake and increasing energy expenditure. Whether leptin is of physiological importance for these processes in humans is, however, not clear. We therefore studied the relation between leptin and habitual food intake in 64 healthy postmenopausal women. Dietary habits were assessed with a modified diet history method. Body fat content was measured using bioelectrical impedance. In the 64 women, aged 58.6+/-0.4 yr (mean+/-SD), serum leptin was 19.3+/-12.7 ng/mL, body mass index was 25.0+/-3.5 kg/m2, body fat content was 31.6+/-4.3%, fasting glucose was 4.6+/-0.5 mmol/L, and fasting insulin was 56+/-21 pmol/L. Leptin levels were negatively correlated to total energy intake (r=-0.34; P=0.006), carbohydrate intake (r=-0.36; P=0.004), and total (r=-0.27; P=0.034) as well as saturated fat intake (r=-0.31; P=0.014). Leptin was correlated to the absolute, but not to the percent, intake of these nutrients. When normalized for body fat content, the correlations remained significant. Our results suggest that plasma leptin is involved in the physiological regulation of food intake in humans, and that leptin is related to the quantity rather than the quality of habitual food intake.  相似文献

Dietary compensation for energy provided as ethanol is reportedly limited. Whether this is a function of the ethanol or other aspect of the medium in which it is ingested is not known. Eight male and eight female adults ingested 1.08 liters of beer (5.0% ethanol w/v, 1891kJ), light beer (2.9% ethanol w/v, 1197kJ), no-alcohol beer (0.1% ethanol w/v, 816kJ), cola (1749kJ) or carbonated water (0kJ) every 3-4 days with a midday meal. Diet records were kept the preceding day and day of beverage ingestion. Energy intake was significantly higher each day an energy-bearing beverage was consumed relative to its preceding day. A literature review revealed dietary compensation for modifications of energy intake via fluids is less precise than when solid foods are manipulated. These findings demonstrate dietary adjustment for energy derived from ethanol is imprecise, but also indicate energy from carbohydrate elicits little dietary response when ingested in a beverage.  相似文献

This study aimed to measure energy intake (EI) and total energy expenditure (TEE) of asthmatic males and to validate diet history as a method of estimating their energy requirements. EI was assessed by dietary history and TEE by the heart-rate monitoring method in a group of asthmatic and nonasthmatic males. Resting energy expenditure (REE) adjusted for fat-free mass was higher in asthmatic than in nonasthmatic males (5,037 versus 4,839 kJ x day(-1), p<0.05). TEE (93+/-1.8 versus 8.4+/-1.4 MJ x day(-1), respectively; p=NS) and EI (9.2+/-15 versus 8.8+/-15 MJ x day(-1), respectively, p=NS) were not statistically different in asthmatic and nonasthmatic male. EI was not statistically different from TEE in both groups of males. Asthmatic males showed an acceptable agreement between TEE and EI at the individual level (range of agreement: -3.2 to 2.9 MJ x day(-1)), and a good agreement at the group level (95% confidence interval for the bias, - 1.1 to 0.8 MJ x day(-1)). Males with mild-to-moderate asthma have a higher metabolic activity per unit fat-free mass than nonasthmatic males. This increased requirement is apparently well compensated by an adequate energy intake. Diet history is a suitable method for estimating energy requirements in males with mild-to-moderate asthma.  相似文献

The nutritional habits regarding intake of calories, carbohydrates, fat and protein of 25 nonobese type-I diabetic subjects were compared with the recommendations given at onset of diabetes by a dietician and with the official recommendations of the American Diabetes Association. Food questionnaires indicated that the subjects currently ate 39% more calories than originally recommended by the dietician. The carbohydrate part of total energy was 4 +/- 7% and thereby lower than recommended by the dietician and officially by the professional society (55%). Fat consumption was 38 +/- 7% of total energy and therefore higher than recommended (30%). 17.2% of total energy was fat with saturated fatty acids (recommendation: maximum 8 to 10%). Protein consumption was 1.25 +/- 0.35 g/kg BW/d and thereby above the recommended amounts (0.8 g/kg BW/d). Thus, dietary counseling of type-I diabetic subjects at disease onset is frequently hypocaloric, probably because of lack of appetite. Patients show a tendency to add fat and protein calories thereafter, instead of increasing carbohydrate intake. Dietary habits of type I diabetic subjects should therefore be re-evaluated periodically by a dietician and adjusted to the individual requirements and to the official guidelines.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether increased total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) associated with repetitive, involuntary movements contributes to growth failure in girls with Rett syndrome (RS). STUDY DESIGN: Fourteen girls with RS and 11 healthy girls were studied for 10 days to obtain measurements of height, weight, body circumference, and skin-fold thickness with stadiometric and anthropometric methods; whole-body potassium by potassium 40 counting; 72-hour dietary energy intakes by test weighing; 24-hour activity patterns using observational methods; and TDEE using the doubly-labeled water technique. RESULTS: TDEE, when adjusted for differences in lean body mass, did not differ significantly between girls with RS and healthy girls. Although girls with RS spent more waking hours in physical activity than their healthy counterparts (85%+/-10% vs. 73%+/-11% awake time per day, p < 0.05), their repetitive movements were not sufficiently intense to increase TDEE. However, girls with RS had significantly less lean body mass, but not body fat, which contributed to their lower absolute TDEE in comparison with that of healthy girls (845+/-251 vs. 1453+/-534 kcal/day, p < 0.01). Dietary energy intake, when adjusted for differences in body weight, was not significantly different in girls with RS compared with healthy girls. CONCLUSIONS: Increased TDEE as a result of repetitive, involuntary movements does not explain the alterations in growth and body composition of girls with RS.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to describe the impact of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the elderly on health care utilization. The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) file for the year 1984 through 1991 involving beneficiaries < or = 65 yr were searched for the diagnoses of asthma and COPD by ICD-9 codes. The study groups were created by determining the first admission for an exacerbation of either disease during each year from 1984 through 1991. Patients were identified by their social security number. The 1984 cohort consisted of 56,692 patients with asthma exacerbation and 162,899 with COPD exacerbation. The 1991 cohort consisted of 67,758 patients with asthma exacerbation and 131,974 patients with COPD exacerbation. In addition, the 1984 cohort was tracked by social security number for evidence of rehospitalization for either asthma or COPD through 1991. Length of hospitalization increased as patients grew older. The discharge rate to an independent living facility diminished as age increased. The use of convalescent and nursing homes or home health care after discharge more than doubled from 1984 through 1991. The utilization of health care resources by elderly patients with asthma and COPD is immense, both during hospitalization and after discharge.  相似文献

This study is the first to report approximations of energy requirements for male and female breast-fed and formula-fed infants based on individual estimates of total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) and energy deposition derived from total body fat (TBF) and fat-free mass (FFM) gain as determined by total-body electrical conductivity. In 46 healthy, full-term infants the effect of > or = 4 mo of exclusive breast-feeding compared with formula feeding on macronutrient and energy intake, TDEE, energy deposition, and growth were investigated prospectively. Metabolizable energy intake (MEI) was assessed from macronutrient intake by test weighing (MEI-TW) and from the sum of TDEE and energy deposition (MEI-Pred). At 1-2, 2-4, 4-8, and 8-12 mo of age MEI-Pred averaged 431 +/- 38, 393 +/- 33, 372 +/- 33, and 355 +/- 21 kJ x kg(-1) x d(-1) for boys, and 401 +/- 59, 376 +/- 25, 334 +/- 33, and 326 +/- 17 kJ x kg(-1) x d(-1) for girls. No significant difference between breast-fed and formula-fed infants was found with respect to weight, length, head circumference, TBF, FFM, and TDEE at all ages, or for gain in length, weight, TBF, and FFM. MEI-TW was significantly different between feeding groups at 1-4 mo of age (formula-fed being greater than breast-fed, P < 0.005). This feeding effect, however, was not significant for MEI-Pred (MJ/d). MEI-TW differed from MEI-Pred only in breast-fed infants at 1-4 mo (P < 0.05 at 2-4 mo). The data from this study indicate that energy requirements in infants are lower than the recommendations in guidelines currently in use.  相似文献

Malnutrition in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is classically ascribed to an increased resting energy expenditure (REE) secondary to high cost of breathing. However, malnutrition correlates only weakly with the severity of respiratory dysfunction, which suggests other mechanisms. The aim of the present study was to determine the possible role of diet-induced thermogenesis (DIT). Therefore, we evaluated the relationship between DIT and nutritional status, in particular fat-free mass (FFM) estimated by bioelectrical impedance analysis in 26 patients with stable COPD (mean FEV1 +/- SEM = 36.5 +/- 3.8% of predicted). Ten patients were undernourished (weight < 90% of ideal body weight [IBW] and/or FFM < 69% of IBW), and 16 were normally nourished. Diet-induced thermogenesis was determined by comparing postprandial energy expenditure and REE, the latter being measured after an overnight fast and the former over 4 h after a mixed test meal of 0.4 times REE load. No statistical difference in DIT was found between undernourished and eutrophic patients. There was no relationship between DIT and nutritional or functional parameters, notably FFM. These results suggest that malnutrition is not a consequence of an increased DIT.  相似文献

Twenty-four-hour energy expenditure (EE) and substrate oxidation (respiratory chamber), and whole-body glucose uptake and oxidation rates (euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp [EHC] and indirect calorimetry) were measured in 10 male patients with posthepatitis, Child B cirrhosis, and 8 healthy male controls matched for age, body size, and body composition. Twenty-four-hour EE was higher in cirrhotic patients than in controls (8,567 +/- 764 vs. 6,825 +/- 507 kJ/d; P < .001). Resting energy expenditure (REE) was also higher in cirrhotic patients than in controls (7,881 +/- 1,125 vs. 5,868 +/- 489 kJ/d; P < .01). Twenty-four-hour respiratory quotient (RQ) (trend) and fasting RQ (0.76 +/- 0.05 vs. 0.82 +/- 0.04; P < .05) were lower in cirrhotic patients than in controls, reflecting higher lipid oxidation rates in the former group. Whole-body glucose uptake was markedly reduced in cirrhotic patients when compared with controls (22.4 +/- 3.2 vs. 44.5 +/- 7.6 mmol/kg/min; P < .001). Carbohydrate oxidation rates, computed during the last 40 minutes of the clamp, were 8.5 +/- 1.1 mmol/kg/min in cirrhotic patients and 22.6 +/- 6.1 mmol/kg/min in controls (P < .001). Nonoxidative glucose disposal was 13.9 +/- 2.5 mmol/kg/min in cirrhotic patients and 22.0 +/- 5.5 mmol/kg/min in normal controls (P < .01). In conclusion, our data indicate that patients with Child B cirrhosis who still maintain a nutritional status (i.e., body composition) comparable with healthy controls are characterized by a cluster of metabolic defects that include hypermetabolism, increased lipid utilization, and insulin resistance. This suggests that the above metabolic syndrome precedes and probably leads to malnutrition in the natural history of the liver disease. In fact, in spite of the absence of a significant difference in caloric intake between cirrhotic patients and normal controls, the elevated 24-hour EE might allow for a relevant weight loss in cirrhotic patients, because, with time, the differences may be cumulative. However, whether this hypermetabolism can lead to a real weight loss remains to be evaluated in a longitudinal study.  相似文献

Obesity could be due to excess energy intake or decreased energy expenditure (EE). To evaluate this, we studied 18 obese females (148 +/- 8% of ideal body weight [IBW], mean +/- SD) before and after achieving and stabilizing at IBW for at least 2 mo and a control group of 14 never obese females (< 110% of IBW or < 30% fat). In the obese, reduced obese, and never obese groups, the percent of body fat was 41 +/- 4%, 27 +/- 4%, and 25 +/- 3%; total energy expenditure (TEE) was 2704 +/- 449, 2473 +/- 495, and 2259 +/- 192 kcal/24 h; while resting metabolic rate was 1496 +/- 169, 1317 +/- 159, and 1341 +/- 103 kcal/24 h, respectively. 15 obese subjects who withdrew from the study had a mean initial body composition and EE similar to the subjects who were successful in achieving IBW. In 10 subjects followed for at least one year after stabilizing at IBW there was no significant relationship between the deviation from predicted TEE at IBW and weight regain. These studies indicate that, in a genetically heterogeneous female population, neither the propensity to become obese nor to maintain the obese state are due to an inherent metabolic abnormality characterized by a low EE.  相似文献

In this Grand Round, two children are described with atypical generalized scleroderma and severe failure to thrive. Neither had Raynaud's phenomenon nor evidence of gastrointestinal (GI) disease. Treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, prednisone, D-penicillamine, alpha and gamma interferon was unsuccessful in reversing the sclerodermatous changes and growth arrest. Dietary intake analysis and extensive GI investigation were performed in both. In one case, resting energy expenditure (Ee) was repeatedly measured. His intake did not meet requirements for growth. Supplemental tube feeding (900 kcal in 6 h) was commenced, causing an increase in weight from 11 to 16 kg. The other patient refused supplementary tube feeding and no weight gain has been observed for 5 yr. In conclusion, early-onset generalized scleroderma in the absence of visceral involvement, but with growth failure, may represent an atypical form of systemic sclerosis. The response of the two patients to conventional therapy was disappointing. However, the rapid catch-up growth induced by tube feeding observed in one patient underlines the importance of adequate dietary management.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate energy expenditure after three isoenergetic meals of different nutrient composition and to establish the relationship between the thermic effect of food (TEF), subsequent energy intake from a test meal and satiety sensations related to consumption. DESIGN: The study employed a repeated measures design. Ten subjects received, in a randomized order, three meals of 2331+/-36 kJ (557+/-9 kcal). About 68% of energy from protein in the high protein meal (HP), 69% from carbohydrate in the high carbohydrate meal (HC) and 70% from fat in the high fat meal (HF). SETTING: The experiments were performed at the University of Milan. Subjects: Ten normal body-weight healthy women. METHODS: Energy expenditure was measured by indirect calorimetric measurements, using an open-circuit ventilated-hood system; intake was assessed 7h later by weighing the food consumed from a test meal and satiety sensations were rated by means of a satiety rating questionnaire. RESULTS: TEF was 261+/-59, 92+/-67 and 97+/-71 kJ over 7 h after the HP, HC and HF meals, respectively. The HP meal was the most thermogenic (P < 0.001) and it determined the highest sensation of fullness (P=0.002). There were no differences in the sensations and thermic effect between fat and carbohydrate meals. A significant relationship linked TEF to fullness sensation (r=0.41, P=0.025). Energy intake from the test meal was comparable after HP, HC and HF meals. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that TEF contributes to the satiating power of foods.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to investigate the mechanisms that determine abnormal gas exchange during acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Thirteen COPD patients, hospitalized because of an exacerbation, were studied after admission and 38+/-10 (+/-SD) days after discharge, once they were clinically stable. Measurements included forced spirometry, arterial blood gas values, minute ventilation (V'E), cardiac output (Q'), oxygen consumption (V'O2), and ventilation/perfusion (V'A/Q') relationships, assessed by the inert gas technique. Exacerbations were characterized by very severe airflow obstruction (forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) 0.74+/-0.17 vs 0.91+/-0.19 L, during exacerbation and stable conditions, respectively; p=0.01), severe hypoxaemia (ratio between arterial oxygen tension and inspired oxygen fraction (Pa,O2/FI,O2) 32.7+/-7.7 vs 37.6+/-6.9 kPa (245+/-58 vs 282+/-52 mmHg); p=0.01) and hypercapnia (arterial carbon dioxide tension (Pa,CO2) 6.8+/-1.6 vs 5.9+/-0.8 kPa (51+/-12 vs 44+/-6 mmHg); p=0.04). V'A/Q' inequality increased during exacerbation (log SD Q', 1.10+/-0.29 vs 0.96+/-0.27; normal < or = 0.6; p=0.04) as a result of greater perfusion in poorly-ventilated alveoli. Shunt was almost negligible on both measurements. V'E remained essentially unchanged during exacerbation (10.5+/-2.2 vs 9.2+/-1.8 L x min(-1); p=0.1), whereas both Q' (6.1+/-2.4 vs 5.1+/-1.7 L x min(-1); p=0.05) and V'O2 (300+/-49 vs 248+/-59 mL x min(-1); p=0.03) increased significantly. Worsening of hypoxaemia was explained mainly by the increase both in V'A/Q' inequality and V'O2, whereas the increase in Q' partially counterbalanced the effect of greater V'O2 on mixed venous oxygen tension (PV,O2). We conclude that worsening of gas exchange during exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is primarily produced by increased ventilation/perfusion inequality, and that this effect is amplified by the decrease of mixed venous oxygen tension that results from greater oxygen consumption, presumably because of increased work of the respiratory muscles.  相似文献
