The effect of Sandospace R on the dyeability of gamma-irradiated wool, wool/polyester and polyester fabrics towards disperse dyes has been investigated. The effects of the different factors that may affect the colour yield of the dyed samples (such as radiation dose, Sandospace R concentration, pH strength of the dye bath, dye concentration, dyeing temperature and time were studied. In general, and regardless of the studied factor, the irradiated fabric showed a significant dye affinity for the disperse dyes employed compared/to the unirradiated fabrics. However, the different fabrics irradiated to a dose of 2Mrad showed the highest colour strength with a high level of dyeing. Also, it was observed that a concentration of Sandospace R as low as 0·5% effectively enhances the dye affinity for the disperse dyes used here. Moreover, it was found that the pH of the dyeing bath at which the highest colour strength obtained was 3. Increasing the dye concentration up to 4% based on fabric weight, caused a significant enhancement in the colour strength, whilst raising/the dyeing bath temperature from 60°C to 100°C appreciably accelerated the rate of dye uptake. Complete exhaustion absorption of the disperse dye occurred over a period of 2h. © 1998 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

采用真空氧等离子体对涤纶织物进行表面改性,探讨不同处理压强、处理时间下织物润湿性能和分散染料染色性能的变化。使用X射线光电子能谱技术研究了织物表面处理前后化学组成及元素含量的变化,利用扫描电子显微镜表征了处理后织物表面形貌的变化。结果表明:真空氧等离子体处理后的涤纶织物表面氧元素的含量从24.1%上升到40.7%,表面粗糙程度提高;同时织物的润湿性能提高,润湿时间由1680s下降到51s;等离子体处理后涤纶织物的分散染料染色性能改善,其表面深度值由12.3增加为15.6,透湿量由2941g/(m~2·d)增加为3282g/(m~2·d)。 相似文献

Radiation‐induced grafting of binary mixtures of acrylonitrile (AN)/styrene (S) and acrylamide (AAm)/styrene (S) onto polyester fabric (PET) has been investigated. Synergism during radiation grafting was investigated by determining the graft yield fraction for each monomer in the final graft copolymer. Moreover, by knowing the mole fraction of each monomer in the grafting solution, the reactivity ratio of the individual monomers in the comonomer mixture during graft copolymerization could be determined: in the case of AN/S comonomer mixture, the calculated reactivity ratios for AN and S are 0.04 and 0.05, respectively; the calculated reactivity ratios of AAm and S in their comonomer mixture are 1.82 and 0.41, respectively. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

以废旧涤棉织物为原料,乙二醇(EG)为醇解剂,通过改变醇解时间、醇解温度、EG/废旧涤棉织物中聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)质量比(mEG/mPET)、催化剂种类及用量等研究了蓬松态下废旧涤棉织物的醇解工艺,以及醇解过程对涤棉织物中棉纤维性能的影响。结果表明:随着醇解时间、醇解温度的提高,mEG/mPET的增大,涤棉织物的醇解程度增大,各参数达到一定程度后醇解程度基本不变;最佳醇解工艺为涤棉织物中mEG/mPET为2/1,催化剂用量为涤棉织物中PET质量的0.30%,醇解温度196℃,醇解时间1 h;在乙酸锌、碳酸钠、乙酸钾、氯化镁4种催化剂中,碳酸钠综合催化效果最佳;经醇解过程后涤棉织物中棉纤维表面变得粗糙,力学性能有较大下降。 相似文献

A conventional approach for modeling permeability of multifilament fabrics is to consider their warps and wefts to be individual thick filament made of homogeneous porous media and solve the flow equations for such monofilament fabrics. In this work, for the first time, the full 3-D geometry of an idealized multifilament woven fabric, wherein the filaments are packed in hexagonal arrangement, is generated to compute its permeability and compare with the homogeneous anisotropic lumped model of Gebart (1992. Permeability of unidirectional reinforcements for RTM. Journal of Composite Materials 26(8), 1100-1133). While a relatively good agreement is obtained, our results indicate that Gebart's model slightly underestimate the permeability of multifilament fabrics even at high yarn's solid volume fractions. 相似文献

Thermoelastic networks were prepared by end‐linking hydroxyl terminated chains of poly(neopentylglycol hexafluoroglutarate) (PNGHFG) and poly(diethylene glycol terephthalate) (PDET) using, respectively, tri(p‐isocyanate‐phenyl)‐thiophosphate and 2,4‐bis(p‐isocyanate benzyl)‐p‐phenylisocyanate as crosslinking agents. The plots of birefringence versus stress for PNGHFG and PDET networks exhibit negative deviations from linearity at elongation ratios greater than 1.9 and 5, respectively. The values of the optical configuration parameter Δa for the former and latter networks are 2.98 Å3 at 5 °C and 20.80 Å3 at 30 °C, respectively. Theoretical calculations carried out using the conformational energies obtained from the critical analysis of the mean‐square dipole moments of diethyl hexafluoroglutarate and poly(neopentylglycol hexafluoroglutarate) give the value of 2.24 Å3 at 5 °C for this parameter, in fair agreement with the experimental result. Similar calculations carried out on PDET networks give Δa = 3.74 Å3 at 30 °C, a value significantly lower than the experimental result. The cause of the strong discrepancy between the theoretical and experimental results observed for the optical configuration parameter of PDET is discussed. © 2002 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

The aim of this study was the optimization of cone calorimeter to determine the burning behavior of textile fabrics. In particular, the combustion behavior of commercial polyester textile fabrics with varying densities was studied in terms of time to ignition (TTI), heat release rate (HRR), and relative peak (pkHRR) were monitored. Reproducibility and repeatability of the data have been verified by the influence of instrument variable including incident heat flux, the temperature of ceramic backing pads and retaining grid used during sample mounting as well as sample weight (as the number of fabric layers), the density of textiles, and the relative humidity. A low reproducibility has been obtained when a wire grid was not used to stabilize samples during the tests. The effects of these variables on TTI and pkHRR were observed. 对191#不饱和聚酯树脂进行了自然曝晒老化、人工热氧加速老化及人工氙灯加速老化试验,并对老化前后试样的外观形貌、光泽度、黄色指数、拉伸强度和弯曲强度进行了研究。实验结果表明,随着加速老化的不断进行,试样表面会出现泛黄、失光率增大和裂纹等现象,强度呈先增后降的趋势,弯曲强度由20 MPa(未老化时)增至最大值40 MPa(热氧老化60 d或氙灯老化45 d),拉伸强度由113 MPa(未老化时)增至最大值125 MPa(氙灯老化30 d)和128 MPa(热氧老化60 d);老化方式不同,老化前后试样的性能变化也不相同,即失光率对热氧老化更敏感、强度对紫外光老化更敏感;西部曝晒180 d,不饱和聚酯树脂仍处于后固化阶段,但强度已开始下降,下降程度与曝晒地区有关,变化最明显的是新疆尉犁地区,弯曲强度由最大值40 MPa(自然曝晒120 d)降低至35 MPa(自然曝晒180 d)。 相似文献

The adsorption of two widely used fluorescent whitening agents (FWAs) on unbrightened cotton fabrics has been investigated as a function of temperature, hardness of the wash liquor, initial concentration of FWA in solution, and fabric to wash liquor ratio. Sorption efficiencies of FWAs have been studied using a UV spectrophotometry technique. A mechanistic model has been developed to describe the dissolution process of FWAs, convective mass transport into the fabrics, diffusion in the stagnant layer to the fabrics' surface, and adsorption of FWAs on cotton fabrics. Dual porosity of the fabrics (inter‐yarn and intra‐yarn porosity) has been considered by allowing two different regions (outer and inner areas of the cotton fabrics) where FWAs molecules can diffuse and adsorb. Modifications in textile properties of polyester because of laser irradiation were studied. Properties included fabric weight, fiber diameter, tensile strength and elongation, yarn abrasion, bending, surface luster, wetting, air permeability as well as crystallinity. Some properties were affected significantly while others were found unchanged. Besides, some properties were positively affected and some were adversely changed. Generally speaking, laser irradiation could not affect the bulk property of polymer because of its low penetration depth, and hence, the effect of the laser irradiation on the bulk and structural properties was limited. However, the performance and comfort properties of the laser irradiated polyester could be largely affected by laser irradiation as these properties could have been changed considerably if the surface was modified. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An experimental investigation was carried out to study the effect of a silicone coating on the mechanical properties of polyester/woven glass fabric composites, fabricated by resin transfer molding. E‐glass woven fabrics were coated with a silicone elastomer by solution dip coating. The effect of variation of silicone amounts on the impact resistance, toughness, and mechanical properties of the composite was determined. Short beam shear tests were performed to assess the effect of coating on the adhesion of the fiber to the matrix. The coated specimens exhibited worse interlaminar shear strength over that of uncoated fabrics. Three‐point bending tests were also performed to investigate the effect of the coating on flexural properties. Whereas flexural strength and Young's modulus decreased with increasing amount of coating, the toughness, represented by the area under the stress–strain curve, presented a maximum. Finally, notched Izod impact tests were carried out and the curve for the energy absorbed during impact versus the amount of coating also appeared to have a maximum, indicating an interesting slot for optimum impact performance. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The results of a comparison between the effects of sodium hydroxide and calcium hydroxide on poly(ethylene terephthalate) fabrics are presented. Calcium hydroxide can produce weight‐loss effects similar to an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. The effects of some treatment variables on weight loss, fiber diameter, bending rigidity, and strength of yarns taken from fabrics are examined. In this research, the effect of CO2 laser on various properties of polyester fabric specially dyeing was studied. Three disperse dyes of red, yellow, and blue were used and irradiation was performed before and after dyeing. To evaluate the color changes due to laser treatment, CIELAB ΔE color difference values were calculated. The morphology of the irradiated surfaces was examined by scanning electron microscopy. Other properties including color fastness, bending rigidity, wettability, and crystal size were also examined. The results revealed that laser treatment had an increasing effect on the color difference value. Among the three laser parameters examined in this work, laser power had the strongest effect. While no significant color fastness improvement with low laser intensity was observed, high‐intensity laser irradiation increased the light and rubbing fastness. 研究了碱减量处理中碱液浓度、处理温度、处理时间以及促进剂等工艺条件对防寒涤纶面料减量率的影响。同时,还研究了碱减量处理对面料透气性的影响,以及对其后的拒水拒油整理效果及耐洗涤性的影响。结果表明,随碱液浓度提高、处理温度增加、处理时间延长,面料的减量率和透气性随之提高,面料表面亲水性和表面粗糙度增加,使织物在后整理中可获得更好的拒水拒油性能和耐水洗性;但减量率不宜太高,在4%~6%左右较为合适;另外,使用阳离子表面活性剂作为碱减量处理的促进助剂,可降低碱的用量,达到既提高处理效率又降低成本的目的。 相似文献

The particle size parameter is a key factor that affects radiative properties of nanopigments, and consequently, pigments of the same type but different sizes represent different spectral performance. Therefore, current study dealt with a systematic experimental investigation on the effect of TiO2 pigmented coatings on spectral reflectance and color performance of white and colored polyester fabrics in UV, VIS, and NIR region of electromagnetic spectrum, with a special emphasis on VIS region. In order to accomplish this target, polyester fabrics were coated with TiO2 nanopigment with various concentrations and different diameters, and their reflectance spectra were measured using spectrophotometric method. Two‐way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was utilized to investigate the significance of the effect of TiO2 nanopigment on the color performance of coated fabrics. According to experimental observations, an organized color shift appears in color coordinate of fabrics coated with TiO2 nanopigment of various sizes. Moreover, although TiO2 nanopigment with 35 nm diameter has the most significant impact on short wavelength region (UV region), the effect of pigment with 250 nm diameter is more noticeable on NIR region as long wavelength region. 相似文献
