Bayesian sequential state estimation for MIMO wireless communications   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9  
This paper explores the use of particle filters, rooted in Bayesian estimation, as a device for tracking statistical variations in the channel matrix of a narrowband multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) wireless channel. The motivation is to permit the receiver to acquire channel state information through a semiblind strategy and thereby improve the receiver performance of the wireless communication system. To that end, the paper compares the particle filter as well as an improved version of the particle filter using gradient information, to the conventional Kalman filter and mixture Kalman filter with two metrics in mind: receiver performance curves and computational complexity. The comparisons, also including differential phase modulation, are carried out using real-life recorded MIMO wireless data.  相似文献

该文分析了在存在噪声干扰的情况下,进行估计快衰信道的方法。在无线通信系统中,快衰信道可以采用AR(Auto-Regressive)模型进行预测,而LS (Least Square)算法和自适应Kalman滤波器可以分别对AR模型的参数和信道的冲激响应进行估计,但是这两种算法对噪声干扰非常敏感。该文提出改进型的RLM算法和Kalman 滤波器,并在存在噪声的情况下,使用它们并行对AR参数和信道的冲激响应进行联合估计。仿真结果显示:相比于传统的算法,改进后的算法在联合估计信道时,提高了抵抗大脉冲干扰的能力,加快了待估的参数的收敛速度。  相似文献

Benefitting from its ability to estimate the target state's posterior probability density function (PDF) in complex nonlinear and non‐Gaussian circumstance, particle filter (PF) is widely used to solve the target tracking problem in wireless sensor networks. However, the traditional PF algorithm based on sequential importance sampling with re‐sampling will degenerate if the latest observation appear in the tail of the prior PDF or if the observation likelihood is too peaked in comparison with the prior. In this paper, we propose an improved particle filter which makes full use of the latest observation in constructing the proposal distribution. The quality prediction function is proposed to measure the quality of the particles, and only the high quality particles are selected and used to generate the coarse proposal distribution. Then, a centroid shift vector is calculated based on the coarse proposal distribution, which leads the particles move towards the optimal proposal distribution. Simulation results demonstrate the robustness of the proposed algorithm under the challenging background conditions. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the average symbol error rate (SER) for a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) maximal ratio combining (MRC) system with Rayleigh fading desired signal in the presence of non‐Rayleigh fading co‐channel interferers (CCIs) and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). To simulate the actual environments of wireless transmission, we assume that the transceiver only obtains imperfect channel estimation (ICE). For the cases of Nakagami and Rician fading CCIs, analytic expressions for the SER have been derived approximately by introducing the modified signal‐to‐interference and noise power ratio (SINR) that can be obtained by averaging the CCI term in the original SINR over the distribution of ICE of intended user. These formulas can provide important reference of design of MIMO diversity systems. Numerical simulations verify the effectiveness of these formulas. Fast fading used in this paper refers to multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) channels with channel gains changing from sample to sample, even within a block symbol. The impact of spatially correlated and sample-to-sample variant (SCSSV) fading channels on the design and error performance of noncoherent receivers is not yet clear in the literature. In this paper, we derive optimal and suboptimal noncoherent receivers for operating on SCSSV MIMO fading channels. The joint effect of spatial correlation and sample-to-sample variation of channel gains on various receivers in Rayleigh and Rician fading is investigated by the derivation of their pairwise error performance. Numerical and simulation results are also presented to illustrate the theory and to compare the performance of the optimal and suboptimal receivers.  相似文献

For flat fast fading Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) channels, this paper presents a sampling based channel estimation and an iterative Particle Filter (PF) signal detection scheme. The channel estimation is comprised of two parts: the adaptive iterative update on the channel distribution mean and a regular update on the "adaptability" via pilot. In the detection procedure, the PF is employed to produce the optimal decision given the known received signal and the sequence of the channel samples, where an asymptotic optimal importance density is constructed, and in terms of the asymptotic update order, the Parallel Importance Update (PIU) and the Serial Importance Update (SIU) scheme are performed respectively. The simulation results show that for the given fading channel, if an appropriate pilot mode is selected, the proposed scheme is more robust than the conventional Kalman filter based superimposed detection scheme.  相似文献

A multicell multiuser massive multiple‐input‐multiple‐output (MIMO) network with Rician flat fading is considered. Given channel reciprocity, non‐orthogonal uplink channel training in conjunction with minimum mean square error channel estimation at the base stations are used to acquire channel state information. In the forward link, using maximal ratio transmission precoding, base stations send data to corresponding users. In this paper, first, a closed‐form expression for signal to interference and noise ratio and a lower bound on achievable rate are obtained for arbitrary number of base station antennas. Then, using random matrix theory, a simplified approximate expression for large number of base station antennas (i.e., massive MIMO scenario) are calculated. This simplified expression shows that in a multicell multiuser massive MIMO network with Rician flat fading, like Rayleigh fading, as the number of base station antennas goes to infinity, the effects of uncorrelated noise and intercell and intracell interferences tend to zero. The only factor limiting the performance of system is the correlated intercell interference, that is, pilot contamination, due to non‐orthogonality of channel training sequences in adjacent cells. Numerical results show that our obtained closed‐form expression is a good lower bound on sum‐rate for various system parameters. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

提出了一种新的基于粒子滤波器的盲辨识及盲均衡算法。在对信道进行辨识时,通过对信道均值的采样来代替对真实信道的采样,避免了对信道的后验密度进行采样,从而降低了算法的复杂度。算法还采用先验密度作为重要性函数,以便于对重要性函数进行采样。仿真结果表明,该算法收敛速度快,所需的数据量少,在信噪比较低时也能完成对信道的盲辨识和盲均衡。  相似文献

The performance of wireless communication systems is improved over flat fading channel by using Alamouti coding scheme, which provides the quality of diversity gain. In this paper, performance analysis of symbol error rate (SER) and particle swarm optimization (PSO)–based power allocation (PA) for Alamouti amplify and forward (AF) relaying protocol using maximum ratio combining (MRC) technique is presented. Analytical expression of SER upper bound and SER approximation is derived for Alamouti AF relaying protocol with quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation over Rayleigh fading channel and Rician fading channel. In addition, PSO‐based optimum PA factor is calculated on the basis of the minimum SER of proposed method. PSO‐based optimum PA gives 0.5 dB of improved signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) compared with the equal power allocation (EPA). The theoretical approximate SER result is compared with the simulated SER. The proposed protocol provides full diversity gain and reduces SER compared with the existing AF and decode and forward (DF) relaying protocols over Rayleigh fading channel and Rician fading channel.  相似文献

针对多输入多输出(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output,MIMO)无线通信系统,在基于Kronecker 的MIMO信道模型中综合考虑了路径损耗、阴影衰落和多径衰落等因素,实现了基于现场可编程门阵列(Field Programmable Gate Array,FPGA)的MIMO信道模拟器,并分析了硬件设计方案以及MIMO信道模拟的实现方法。实测结果表明,设计的MIMO信道模拟器可以模拟瑞利衰落、莱斯衰落以及阴影衰落等常见的信道衰落类型,能够应用于3GPP、COST-207等标准信道模型的复现。该模拟器可作为无线通信系统研究的测试设备,辅助通信系统研究的算法验证、方案优化以及性能分析。  相似文献

We provide an analysis of the performance of maximum likelihood detection (MLD) over flat fading channels in a wireless multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) antenna system. A tight union bound with an asymptotic form on the probability of symbol error rate (SER) for MIMO MLD systems with two-dimensional signal constellations (such as QAM and PSK) is introduced. 传统的信道估计方法往往假设多径分量数已知且为常数,粒子滤波算法可估计服从高斯分布的时变信道。实际无线环境中,多径分量数目与幅度皆为时变,则粒子滤波估计方法性能恶化。本文提出基于二进制粒子群算法和卡尔曼滤波的MIMO-OFDM信道混合估计方法。采用随机集建模MIMO信道,并分析得到其多径转移概率模型;基于此模型将信道分解为离散部分和连续部分,推导得到此两部分与整体信道关系;采用二进制粒子群算法拟合信道离散部分,利用卡尔曼滤波估计信道幅度,将利用信道估计计算得到的观测值与真实观测值的近似程度作为适应度函数。仿真结果表明:本文所提出的信道估计方法性能优于基本粒子滤波的信道估计方法。  相似文献

Spatial multiplexing (SMX) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are promising candidates to enhance the achievable throughput and the overall spectral efficiency in future wireless systems. Performance studies of these systems over different channel conditions assume simplified models for the channel phase distribution. This paper highlights the impact of the channel phase distribution assumption on the performance of SMX MIMO systems. The Nakagami-m and the \(\eta -\mu\) fading channels are considered in this study. In existing literature, performance studies of SMX MIMO systems over Nakagami-m fading channel assume uniform phase distribution. Though, it has been reported recently that the Nakagami-m channel phase distribution is not uniform. In this article, we show that the assumption of the channel phase distribution has a major impact on the performance of SMX MIMO systems. The obtained results demonstrate that the performance of SMX MIMO systems significantly varies with different channel phase distributions. Furthermore, it is shown that uniform assumption of channel phase distribution is incorrect and leads to erroneous conclusions. Detailed performance analysis for more accurate channel models are provided and results are sustained through Monte-Carlo simulations.  相似文献

The generalized receiver (GR) based on a generalized approach to signal processing (GASP) in noise is investigated in a direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS-CDMA) wireless communication system with frequency-selective channels. We consider four avenues: linear equalization with finite impulse response (FIR) beamforming filters; channel estimation and spatially correlation; optimal combining; and partial cancellation. We investigate the GR with simple linear equalization and FIR beamforming filters. Numerical results and simulation show that the GR with FIR beamforming filters surpasses in performance the optimum infinite impulse response beamforming filters with conventional receivers, and can closely approach the performance of GR with infinite impulse response beamforming filters. Channel estimation errors are taken into consideration so that DS-CDMA wireless communication system performance will not be degraded under practical channel estimation. GR takes an estimation error of a maximum likelihood (ML) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel estimation and GR spatially correlation into account in computation of minimum mean square error (MMSE) and log-likelihood ratio (LLR) of each coded bit. The symbol error rate (SER) performance of DS-CDMA employing GR with a quadrature sub-branch hybrid selection/maximal-ratio combining (HS/MRC) scheme for 1-D modulations in Rayleigh fading is obtained and compared with that of conventional HS/MRC receivers. Procedure of selecting a partial cancelation factor (PCF) for the first stage of a hard-decision partial parallel interference cancellation (PPIC) of the GR employed in DS-CDMA wireless communication system is proposed. A range of optimal PCFs is derived based on the Price’s theorem. Computer simulation results show superiority in bit error rate (BER) performance that is very close to that potentially achieved and surpasses the BER performance of the real PCF for DS-CDMA systems discussed in literature.  相似文献

This paper presents field experiments on a Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) system that combines Adaptive Beamforming (ABF) and Spatial Multiplexing (SM) procedures. The combination of SM signal processing with ABF is applied to WiBro, the South Korean Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system that follows the IEEE 802.16e standard. The field experimental results show that ABF-MIMO OFDM system outperforms a simple MIMO OFDM system by 2 dB (1.5 dB) in the signal to noise ratio (SNR) for 16-QAM (64-QAM) under low correlated fading channel and 4 dB (2.5 dB) in the SNR for 16-QAM (64-QAM) under highly correlated fading channel, respectively, at the frame error rate (FER) of 1%. Details on the implementation of ABF-MIMO OFDM system is also presented in this paper. Through the system implementation and its field experimental results, we verify that the combination of MIMO OFDM system with ABF provides improved performance over a simple MIMO OFDM system in real propagation channel environment and, in particular, it is more effective in highly correlated fading channel.  相似文献

该文提出了一种适用于MIMO-OFDM系统的基于自适应滤波器的信道估计方法,此方法在不需要任何信道统计信息的前提下,通过自适应滤波的方法对时变信道状态参数进行即时跟踪与估计。仿真结果表明该文提出的基于自适应滤波的信道估计方法,相比于不考虑噪声的基于LS算法的信道估计方法,MSE和BER性能均有很大的提高。其中基于LMS滤波器的信道估计方法具有计算复杂度小的特点;而基于RLS的信道估计方法具有收敛速度快,MSE和BER性能均优于基于LMS方法的特点。  相似文献

By employing spatial multiplexing, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless antenna systems provide increases in capacity without the need for additional spectrum or power. Zero-forcing (ZF) detection is a simple and effective technique for retrieving multiple transmitted data streams at the receiver. However the detection requires knowledge of the channel state information (CSI) and in practice accurate CSI may not be available. In this letter, we investigate the effect of channel estimation error on the performance of MIMO ZF receivers in uncorrelated Rayleigh flat fading channels. By modeling the estimation error as independent complex Gaussian random variables, tight approximations for both the post-processing SNR distribution and bit error rate (BER) for MIMO ZF receivers with M-QAM and M-PSK modulated signals are derived in closed-form. 在目标跟踪中,为了克服粒子滤波的粒子退化和贫化问题,提高滤波精度,文中将差分演化算法与容积粒子滤波相结合,形成了差分演化容积粒子滤波算法。在粒子进行先验更新时, 使用容积卡尔曼滤波算法融入当前时刻的量测信息并用其来产生重要性密度函数,并且在重采样阶段,用差分演化算法对根据重要性密度函数抽取的采样粒子做优化操作,从而克服粒子滤波存在的粒子退化及贫化问题,提高滤波性能。实验结果表明,和粒子滤波、无迹粒子滤波、容积粒子滤波相比,该算法有着更高的滤波精度和更好的稳定性,并且能够提高雷达机动目标跟踪的精确性。  相似文献

A new receive antenna subset selection algorithm with low complexity for wireless Multipie-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems is proposed, which is based on the orthogonal components of the channel matrix. Larger capacity is achieved compared with the existing antenna selection methods. Simulation results of quasi-static fiat fading channel demonstrate the significant performance of the proposed selection algorithm.  相似文献
