Mammalian cells were exposed to 250 kVp X-irradiation in air, argon and nitrogen to determine whether cells irradiated when severely hypoxic have survival curves with lower extrapolation numbers (n) than their aerobic counterparts. Cells irradiated suspended in liquid showed no significant differences between values of 'n' irrespective of the gas used, neither was the sensitivity of cells irradiated in argon any greater than that of cells irradiated in nitrogen. In contrast, cells attached to glass dishes irradiated with the medium withdrawn were apparently much more sensitive in argon than in nitrogen. It has been demonstrated that the lower survival of cells irradiated in argon could have been caused by the greater photoelectric absorption in argon compared with nitrogen. When the dosimetric discrepancy was removed either by absorption of photoelectrons in liquid or by use of high energy radiations, there was no evidence that severe hypoxia during irradiation could lead to reduced values of 'n'. 相似文献

Nanostructuring of the surface layer of a cermet (titanium carbide + nickel alloy) by pulsed electron-beam treatment is studied experimentally. The nanostructural characteristics of the surface of the cermet after electron-beam treatment in gas-discharge plasma containing argon, argon + nitrogen, and xenon + nitrogen improve its frictional coefficient and correspondingly extend the working life of cermet plates in metal cutting. 相似文献

Physicochemical grounds for the possibility of replacing of argon with nitrogen during blowing a metal in the course of degassing
and in a ladle-furnace unit are obtained using a mathematical model of degassing steel for out-of-furnace treatment. According
to the data of examining the model for adequacy, the calculation error does not exceed 1%. A numerical experiment demonstrates
that the replacement of argon with nitrogen during degassing of steel does not lead to any increase in the nitrogen content
in it. Blowing in a ladle-furnace unit can be performed using an argon-nitrogen mixture taken in the proportion (2–3): 1.
The replacement of argon with nitrogen allows the cost of the out-of-furnace treatment of steel to be decreased. 相似文献

通过对淮钢100 t BOF-LF-RH-CC工艺流程冶炼45钢和42CrMo钢时各工序钢水取样分析氮含量,研究各工序对钢水中氮含量的影响。得出除吹氩和RH工序外,各工序都存在增氮现象:钢包至中间包长水口增氮占增氮总量的40%,LF精炼增氮占35%,出钢增氮占20%。所以控制转炉终点氮含量,控制LF渣层厚度,避免LF精炼补加合金和增碳,适当延长RH处理时间,提高长水口氩封效果是控制钢水氮含量的关键措施。 相似文献
