In universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS), session management (SM) maintains a communication session between a user equipment (UE) and the core network. 3GPP TS 24.008 specifies the SM functions and the communication protocols between the UE and the core network. However, the interaction between the SM and other entities in the UE are not specified in detail. This paper designs and implements the SM software. We use a finite state machine (FSM) to model the SM functions. Based on the FSM and the primitives, we describe how to set up the development steps to implement the SM at the UE. With high-bandwidth and on-demand applications continuing to emerge, next-generation core optical networks will require significant improvements in capacity, configurability, and resiliency. These advancements need to be achieved with architectures and technologies that are scalable with respect to network cost, size, and power requirements. To investigate the limitations of extending today's solutions to meet these goals, a North American backbone network with a tenfold growth in traffic is modeled. The results of this paper illuminate at least three areas that will potentially require innovative solutions, namely 1) transmission modulation formats, 2) switching granularity, and 3) edge traffic grooming. In addition to probing issues related to increased capacity, configurability is also examined, mainly in the context of switching architectures. Advanced network protection is discussed as well, at a high level. A central theme is how to harness the trend of optics scaling better than electronics. Throughout this paper, potential advancements in architecture and technology are enumerated to serve as a foundation for the research needed to attain the goals of next-generation core networks.  相似文献

 在高速发展的移动业务和日趋激烈的竞争环境下,移动运营商面临着多方面的挑战:高额的能耗、高涨的建设和运维成本、紧张的频谱资源、快速增长的业务流量以及日趋严峻的成本压力。为解决这些挑战并追求未来可持续的增长,根据现网条件和技术进步的趋势,提出了面向绿色演进的新型无线接入网构架C-RAN。C-RAN是基于集中化处理(Centralized),协作式无线电(Cooperative Radio)和实时云计算构架(Real-time Cloud Infrastructure)的无线接入网构架, 集中式基带处理可以大大减少覆盖同样区域所需基站的数量;面向协作的无线远端模块和天线可以提高系统频谱效率;基于开放平台的实时云型基础设施和基站虚拟化技术可以降低成本,共享处理资源,减少能源消耗,提高基础设施利用率。这些特点能够很好地解决移动运营商所面临的上述挑战,并满足营收和未来移动互联网业务同步发展要求。  相似文献

By introduction of relay nodes, LTE‐Advanced can provide enhanced coverage and capacity at cell edges and hot‐spot areas. The authors have been researching the issue of power saving in mobile communications technology such as WiMax and Long Term Evolution (LTE) for some years. Based on the previous idea of load‐based power saving, two strategies each with associated schemes to integrated relay nodes and user equipment in power saving are proposed in the paper. Simulation study shows the benefit of the proposed schemes in terms of better power saving than the standard‐based scheme at the cost of moderately increased delay. Extended discussion about the impact of different load distribution among user equipments and the impact of a worse backhaul link on power saving is also presented in the paper. Dissemination of wireless networks and mobile devices, such as smartphones, has motivated the appearance of several types of location-based services. Consequently, the interest in low-complexity cost-effective mobile positioning techniques against the traditional method based on global positioning system has emerged. An interesting alternative is to utilize radio frequency (RF) signals to estimate the location of mobile terminals, as in multilateration and RF fingerprinting techniques. In this context, the objective of this work is to propose a new radio strength signal-based user equipment location method using a machine learning regression-based model to find directly the geographical coordinates of the mobile user in cellular networks. Numerical results show that, in most cases, the proposed method can meet the location accuracy requirements established by the Federal Communications Commission for network-based localization methods.

利用数值方法研究了超精细能级分裂的原子系统中电磁诱导透明暗态随时间的演化和驻波光场中稳态布居的空间相关性。考虑圆偏振和线偏振两种极化方案 ,并且将组合后的结果与简单三能级情况相比较。分析结果表明,圆偏极化方式下暗态的布居分布比线偏极化方式下更接近简单三能级的分析结果,而且圆偏极化方式下的局域化分辨率更好。演化的过程还说明,系统达到稳态需要足够长的相互作用时间。  相似文献

It’s a promising way to improve performance significantly by adding reconfigurable processing unit (RPU) to a general purpose processor. In this paper, a Reconfigurable Multi-Core (RMC) architecture combining general multi-core and reconfigurable logic is proposed. Reconfigurable logic is separated into RPUs logically, which are coupled with general purpose cores as co-processors via a full crossbar switch. An RPU Manager (RPU-M) is also designed to manage RPUs. To verify RMC, a simulation method based on the Simics and Virtex 5 FPGA is adopted, which simplifies the simulation and assures the evaluation accuracy of hardware function cores. Five workloads are selected to test RMC, including 3-DES, AES, SHA2, IDCT and JPEG_ENC. The experimental results show a 3.10 times average speedup over software implementation on the original multi-core, and the data and control communication overhead on RMC is acceptable.  相似文献
