实用美术是特教美育重中之重

Premarital education, marital quality, and marital stability: Findings from a large, random household survey.

One of the limitations of experimental studies on the effectiveness of premarital education is the reliance on samples of mostly White, middle-class couples. In contrast, although survey methods allow only weak inferences about causal relations, representative surveys can yield important information about use and estimated effects across a diverse population. Using a large random survey of 4 middle American states, the authors found that participation in premarital education was associated with higher levels of satisfaction and commitment in marriage and lower levels of conflict-and also reduced odds of divorce. These estimated effects were robust across race, income (including among the poor), and education levels, which suggests that participation in premarital education is generally beneficial for a wide range of couples. Early ambulatory experience in the undergraduate education of family physicians

A number of benefits have been claimed for early ambulatory experience in the training of family physicians, although few practical examples have been reported. This paper describes an approach to the education of first and second year medical students interested in family medicine which places heavy emphasis on community-based ambulatory care. During the first year, an elective introductory preceptorship permits students to participate in the office practice of a family physician in a limited role. Seminars are offered concurrently to provide integrating principles and perspective. In the second year, a nine-month-long continuity clerkship is offered in which students gain intimate contact with a small panel of families and practice the skills of primary care in the offices of family physicians. Clinical experience is accompanied by weekly seminars and integrated with elements of the required curriculum. Selected evaluation data are presented, which attest to the achievement of course objectives and provide support for the claim that this approach is beneficial to students seeking careers in primary care.     

Physical therapy education in family practice residency programs

BACKGROUND: This study investigated the role and extent of physical therapy education in family practice residency programs. Physical therapy is not specifically included in graduate curricula guidelines, and the literature contains little information on its involvement in programs. METHODS: A questionnaire was developed to determine how physical therapy education is taught in family practice residencies. The questionnaire was mailed to all (391) directors of US-accredited family practice residency programs. RESULTS: A total of 256 directors (65.5%) responded. The majority of directors (67%) stated that there was a significant need for the physical therapy component. Only 52% (133/256), however, included physical therapy in their curricula. Physical therapy education was most frequently (67.6%, 92/136) included in required rotations (eg, orthopedics) and taught mostly by hospital-based physical therapists (77.0%, 104/135) or subspecialists (55.6%, 75/135). CONCLUSION: This study shows that physical therapy education offers a potentially relevant and important element of family practice residency training, but it has been underemphasized.
