The emulsion polymerization of chloroprene in the presence of 1,3-dichloro-2-butene in various concentrations up to 5% was studied. In contrast to all other common chloroprene impurities, no influence of this compound on the kinetics of chloroprene polymerization and the properties of polychloroprene was found. 1,3-Dichloro-2-butene does not cause polymer chain transfer and it is not able to copolymerize with chloroprene under the given polymerization conditions. 相似文献

The presence of small amounts of divinylacetylene in the monomer during the emulsion polymerization of chloroprene results in substantial increase of the molecular weight, gel formation, and in corresponding changes of physical and mechanical properties of vulcanizates. These changes appear at concentrations of divinylacetylene as low as 0.05% in chloroprene. The polymerization kinetics of chloroprene are influenced to a relatively small extent. 相似文献

The free-radical emulsion polymerization of chloroprene containing monovinylacetylene in concentrations from 0% to 10% has been studied. It was found that in the presence of monovinylacetylene, a polymer with a great gel content, increased values of plasticity, and deteriorated physical and mechanical properties is formed. Monovinylacetylene has been proved to copolymerize with chloroprene under the conditions used. Acetylenic groups remain unchanged in the copolymer; they cause the crosslinking of polychloroprene macromolecules and corresponding changes in polymer properties. Copolymerization reactions of monovinylacetylene with chloroprene together with the crosslinking effect of monovinylacetylene cause a substantial lowering of the crystallization rate of polychloroprene. 相似文献

The influence of small amounts of 1-chloro-1,3-butadiene on the kinetics of the emulsion polymerization of 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene and on properties of the resulting polychloroprene has been studied. Some changes in the properties of the chloroprene polymers were observed at 1-chloro-1,3-butadiene concentrations in monomer as relatively high as about 5%. Polymer prepared in the presence of 5% 1-chloro-1,3-butadiene had decreased tensile strength, and also its crystallization tendency was somewhat lowered. At 1-chloro-1,3-butadiene concentrations near 1% or higher, the polychloroprene obtained had worsened thermo-oxidation stability which resulted in crosslinking during aging. The kinetics of emulsion polymerization of chloroprene are not influenced by 1-chloro-1,3-butadiene up to 5%. 相似文献

The influences of small amounts (up to 2%) of methyl vinyl ketone in chloroprene on properties of polychloroprene and kinetics of the emulsion polymerization of chloroprene with mercaptans as regulators has been studied. Methyl vinyl ketone causes a substantial increase in molecular weight of polymer, which results in increased viscosity, gel formation, lowered plasticity of polymer, deterioration of processability, decreased tensile strength, and high modulus of vulcanizates. Methyl vinyl ketone interferes with the regulation of molecular weight by both primary and tertiary dodecylmercaptan; some differences are due to lower reactivity of tertiary dodecylmercaptan. In the presence of diisopropyl xanthogene disulfide as a molecular weight regulator the polychloroprene properties are not affected by methyl vinyl ketone. All changes in polymer properties have been proved to be caused by the addition reaction of dodecylmercaptan on methyl vinyl ketone, yielding 1-dodecylthiobutan-3-one. This compound itself has no influence on the polymerization of chloroprene. Methyl vinyl ketone has a marked promoting effect on polymerization rates, which accounts for its high reactivity and solubility in the water phase. A fast polymerization of methyl vinyl ketone takes place in the water phase of emulsion polymerization system simultaneously with the reaction of methyl vinyl ketone with dodecylmercaptan. 相似文献
