It is difficult to give an accurate judgement of whether the traffic model fit the actual traffic. The traditional method is to compare the Hurst parameter, data histogram and autocorrelation function. The method of comparing Hurst parameter cannot give exact results and judgement. The method of comparing data histogram and autocorrelation only gives a qualitative judgement. Based on linear discriminant analysis we proposed a novel arithmetic. Utilizing this arithmetic we analysed some sets of data with large and little differences. We also analysed some sets of data generated by network simulator. The analysis result is accurate. Comparing with traditional method, this arithmetic is useful and can conveniently give an accurate judgement for complex network traffic trace. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

A wireless visual sensor network is a collective network of directional and battery‐operated sensor nodes equipped with cameras. The field of view of these nodes depends on the camera opening angle, its direction, and its depth of view. Therefore, coverage and object detection in this type of networks are more challenging compared with the traditional wireless sensor networks. Thus, many researchers propose algorithms and solutions in this field that need tests and simulations. In this paper, we focus on network simulator 3 (ns‐3), which is an open‐source and discrete‐event tool suitable for wireless network simulation targeted primarily for research and educational use. The lack of models that can simulate visual sensor nodes in this simulator motivated us to design and develop a new visual node module as an extension of the ns‐3 core libraries and also to adapt the NetAnim tool to present these nodes graphically. This module will help researchers to simulate, test, and visualize their solutions in wireless visual sensor networks field. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of the proposed module. Furthermore, we show how it can be used in ns‐3 to simulate different scenarios of object detection and visualize the results in NetAnim tool. 相似文献

In this paper we introduce a discrete-event-based simulation technology suitable to model cellular mobile radio systems with respect to their dynamic behavior. The latter results in the need for simulation tools which support mutable system configurations. The problems encountered when modeling mutable system configurations using conventional discrete-event simulators are discussed. In order to show a possible solution to this problem we introduce configuration events and configuration objects into the theory of discrete-event simulations. We demonstrate how configuration objects can be implemented in a discrete-event simulator using a dynamic map-function, hereby extending a definition of higher order functions. We apply the configuration objects in a Multiple Layer Model for modeling an entire mobile cellular radio network in a discrete-event simulator as an application for the extended theory. In this model we use the configuration objects to change the network's configuration during runtime. We show that this solution—combined with an object-oriented software design and, possibly, a visual programming language—is a powerful tool for the simulation of the dynamic aspects of mobile cellular radio networks. The software technology presented will be applied by the German cellular network operator Mannesmann Mobilfunk to model dynamic features applicable to the radio resource management of mobile radio networks and to access their performance by simulation. 相似文献
