Complex evaluation of the quality and serviceability of yarns during preparation and processing processes

Conclusions -- The basic factors and principles which determine the stability of processes of preparing and processing yarns have been examined. It has been shown that it is advisable to use the figure for the mean length of a break-free yarn section as a general characteristic for technological stability for yarns of various types and various processes. -- Application of reliability theory shows that the mechanical properties of yarns (load-bearing ability) and technological reserve in mechanical properties (reserve coefficient) have basic importance to ensure stability of technological processes. Thereupon, one should take into account the change in yarn properties under the effect of external actions under the conditions of technological processes. -- The effect of structure heterogeneity and yarn defectiveness on nonuniformity in properties and yarn serviceability in technological processes has been analyzed. -- Various methods of predicting yarn serviceability which are based on evaluating both their breaking characteristics and also of complex quality criteria have been generalized and analyzed. -- New criteria for predicting the serviceability of yarns have been proposed: the scale coefficients of the breaking characteristics for the case of single stretching actions and a complex durability figure for the case of repeated actions of stretching and bending with abrasion. These criteria are particularly important for evaluating the serviceability of yarns with specific mechanical properties. -- The connection between complex quality criteria and the serviceability of yarns with the stability of technological processes (breakage) and the quality of the textile materials obtained has been examined. High-speed spinning and orientational strengthening of polyester fibres. Analysis and prospects for development. A review

The processes are classified and the theoretical and technological premises for substantiation of orientational strengthening schemes are examined. Modern technological schemes for separate and combined processes of high-speed spinning and orientational strengthening are described, and the prospects for development of new technologies are evaluated. The evolution of orientational strengthening technology is based on multistage drawing for obtaining high-strength fibres and one-stage processes for obtaining medium-strength fibres. Basic principles in developing waste-free technology for regeneration of components from spent solutions in synthetic fibre manufacture

Conclusions A methodological approach is given to the development of a technological process for regenerating the components from spent technological solutions. As the object we have examined a very complex system containing an aprotic amide solvent, a monohydric alcohol, water, and a salt component — a chloride of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal.Requirements have been formulated for heat- or heat-and-mass exchange processes for the preparation of chemical pure object regeneration products. Practical schemes have been examined for closed processes on regenerating components which assure low-waste technology conditions, and recommendations have been given for bringing them into a waste-free technological process.Translated from Khimicheskie Volokna, No. 2, pp. 52–54, March–April, 1989.

Electrophysical Properties of S87-2, S78-4, and S78-5 Glass

The results of the investigation of the effect of the thermodynamic processing conditions on the electrophysical properties of the materials used in devices for recording images in the near infrared wavelength region are presented. The dependences of the specific electrical conductivity on the temperature and on the time of the heat treatment at a continuous unidirectional current through the sample are determined, as well as for the symmetric alternating current, excluding the electro mass transfer. These results can be used to improve the existing technological processes and create new technological processes for the production of electronics products.
