Use of a new sugar substitute,erithritol, in the diet therapy of type 2 diabetes patients

It was investigated the influence of a diet supplemented with erithritol on dynamic of basal and postprandial glycemia, lipid levels, blood pressure, body weight in 30 patients with type 2 diabetes. The results indicated that supplementation of erithritol (30 g/day) in traditional hypocaloric diet did not decrease the efficacy of dietary therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes. After ingestion 30 g erithritol dissolved in 300 ml of water, blood glucose did not show a marked increase in compared with 30 g isomalt (control).     

Fasting diet therapy in gastrointestinal tract diseases

The article is devoted to an effective not medicamentous method of therapy--to the medical starvation. Indications and contra-indications to carrying out of medical starvation are given. Own results of use of medical starvation are resulted at diseases of bodies of digestion. Practical recommendations on applications of medical starvation for patients with diseases of bodies of a gastroenteric path are submitted.

Readaptive mechanisms arising during diet therapy]

Results of clinical observations and special investigations characterizing peculiar features of readaptive mechanisms emerging under the effect of dietetic therapy are reported. The most favourable shifts in the metabolic status of the patients are shown to occur under the influence of dietetic therapy by the end of the 2nd and at the beginning of the 3d week of the treatment. Toward the end of the treatment there is seen stabilization of readaptive reactions which can be later regulated by a prolonged outpatient treatment.     

Use of scanning electron microscopy techniques in the biocatalyst immobilization

Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) has become a routine technique for the characterization of inert support materials for biocatalyst immobilization as well as for the observation of immobilized cells, especially cell colonization and cell-support interaction. SEM is expected to have important future applications in the observation of immobilized enzymes and will prove a useful technique in the engineering design and scale-up of immobilized biocatalyst systems.     

Use of fish oil enriched with carotenoids isolated from sea cucumbers in the diet therapy of patients with hypertension and ischemic heart disease

Usage of antisclerotic diet with fish oil and carotinoides in patients with IND and high blood pressure resulted in positive dynamic of clinic manifestation, blood lipid, coagulogramms, antioxygen and immune status.     

Ways of improving the diet therapy of industrial workers

A conceptual model of the organizational system of the diet therapy of workers at industrial enterprises has been developed. The system analysis permitted the authors to reveal its ineffective components and to outline the ways for their correction. Approbation of the system at industrial enterprises contributed to the improvement of the social-medical and social-economic effectiveness of the diet therapy under industrial conditions.     

Experimental-clinical substantiation of the diet therapy with zosterin in kidney diseases

The results of enterosorbent of marine origin zoosterol application under nephropathy are cited. Detoxicational, lipid corregated action of zoosterol was revealed as a result of experimental researches on nephrocalcinosis model, but calcium accumulation was observed in animals' kidney tissue. Clinical examinations including zoosterol application and dietotheraphy showed the decreasing of heightened calcium level in serum and urine, cholesterol and triglycerides, stabilization of membranodestructive processes in urinary excretive system for patients with chronic pyelonephritic.     

Applications of computer vision techniques in the agriculture and food industry: a review

Over the last decades, parallel to technological development, there has been a great increase in the use of visual inspection systems. These systems have been widely implemented, particularly in the stage of inspection of product quality, as a means of replacing manual inspection conducted by humans. Much research has been published proposing the use of such tools in the processes of sorting and classification of food products. This paper presents a review of the main publications in the last ten years with respect to new technologies and to the wide application of systems of visual inspection in the sectors of precision farming and in the food industry.
