Here, we describe a novel method for surface passivation of the thin‐film light addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS). To form a uniform passivation layer, perhydropolysilazane (PHPS) was utilized as a spin‐coatable precursor of silica. After transformation of PHPS into silica by baking, we introduced an O2 plasma treatment aiming for enhancement of the water resistance of the PHPS‐derived silica (PDS) film by completing the PHPS‐to‐silica conversion. To confirm the effect of the O2 plasma treatment, the PDS film was deposited on a thin‐film LAPS electrode and tested by immersion in a cell culturing medium. The immersion test demonstrated that the plasma‐treated PDS film could keep the electrode stable longer than the untreated could. With the treated PSD film of 600 nm in thickness, a lifetime of the thin‐film LAPS was estimated at over 2 weeks, which is sufficient for cell culturing experiments. © 2011 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. The trend in high‐speed digital circuits is to increase speed and density and to operate at lower voltage. This fast increase in the switching speed combined with the decrease of the operating voltage causes the allowable absolute voltage variations to decrease, which makes the PDS design a more challenging task than ever. Moreover, the complex 3D nature of the modern PDS causes it to be more sensitive to capacitors' placement as well as capacitance value. In this paper, we introduce an efficient complete solution for the design of high‐speed digital PDS. This solution (a) takes the effects of the decoupling capacitor placement into consideration through a 3D electromagnetic simulation of the PDS, (b) defines a more‐realistic PDS design target, and (c) presents a clear capacitor value selection methodology. Finally, we applied our methodology to an industrial test case, compared its results with that of industrial design, and showed its advantages. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Wireless power transmission via a sheet medium is a novel physical form of communication that utilizes a surface as a medium to provide both data and power transmission services. To efficiently transmit a relatively large amount of electric power (several watts), we have developed a wireless power transmission system via sheet medium that concentrates electric power on a specific spot by using phase control of multiple inputs. However, to find the optimal phases of the multiple inputs that let the microwave energy converge on a specific spot in the sheet medium, prior knowledge of the device's position and a preliminary experiment measuring the output power are needed. In the field of wireless communication, it is known that the retrodirective array scheme can efficiently transmit power in a self‐phasing manner, which uses pilot signals sent by client devices. In this paper, we apply the retrodirective array scheme to our wireless power transmission system via a sheet medium, and propose a power transmission scheme using the phase‐adjusted power transmission inputs. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, we evaluate its performance by computer simulation and real‐world measurement. Both results show that the proposed scheme can achieve retrodirectivity over wireless power transmission via a sheet medium. 相似文献

Power conversion systems and, in particular, power drives, are now present in a large number of applications and environments. The switching operations of power drive systems (PDSs) are sources of radiated and conducted EMIs that give rise to problems of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) with other systems. This paper proposes an efficient numerical technique to evaluate the radiated emissions due to a PDS, taking into account the radiation from intentional apertures (i.e., those for ventilation). The power section of the PDS is simulated by a combination of radiating dipoles in which the current is known. The radiated electromagnetic (EM) field induces on the PDS metallic cage surface currents that, in turn, radiate outside the cage. These currents are computed by an efficient numerical method known as the partial-element equivalent circuit technique. The proposed prediction model is, hence, able to predict the total radiated emission from a PDS in its design stage in order to fulfill the ERIC requirements called for by the international standards 相似文献

Polymer optical fiber (POF) is a promising transmission medium to provide broad-band telecommunication services within the customer's premises. POF offers several attractive features for data transmission such as broad bandwidth and low cost for in-house, access, and local-area-network (LAN) applications. This paper presents a review on optical transmission systems using POF and their enabling technologies.
