We propose a parallel two-step phase-shifting digital holography technique capable of instantaneous measurement of three-dimensional objects, with a view toward measurement of dynamically moving objects. The technique is based on phase-shifting interferometry. The proposed technique carries out the two-step phase-shifting method at one time and can be optically implemented by using a phase-shifting array device located in the reference beam. The array device has a periodic two-step phase distribution, and its configuration is simplified compared with that required for three-step and four-step parallel phase-shifting digital holographies. Therefore the optical system of the proposed technique is more suitable for the realization of a parallel phase-shifting digital holography system. We conduct both a numerical simulation and a preliminary experiment in the proposed technique. The results of the simulation and the experiment agree well with those of sequential phase-shifting digital holography, and results are superior to those obtained by conventional digital holography using the Fresnel transform alone. Thus the effectiveness of the proposed technique is verified.  相似文献

We propose a scheme to improve the reconstructed image in parallel quasi-phase-shifting digital holography. Parallel quasi-phase-shifting digital holography is a technique capable of noiseless instantaneous measurement of three-dimensional objects, and it implements four kinds of phase shifting at a time with an array of 2 x 2 phase-shifting devices located in the reference wave. In the phase-shifting calculation in the reconstruction process of the technique, the scheme assigns the 2 x 2 cell configuration for each pixel in the vertical direction and for each 1-pixel interval in the horizontal direction of the hologram recorded by the image sensor. We conduct both a numerical simulation and a preliminary experiment. The results show that the proposed scheme can improve the quality of the reconstructed image calculated by the conventional scheme of parallel quasi-phase-shifting digital holography we previously proposed, and then the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified.  相似文献

Parallel phase-shifting digital holography using a phase-mode spatial light modulator (SLM) is proposed. The phase-mode SLM implements spatial distribution of phase retardation required in the parallel phase-shifting digital holography. This SLM can also compensate dynamically the phase distortion caused by optical elements such as beam splitters, lenses, and air fluctuation. Experimental demonstration using a static object is presented.  相似文献

We propose an algorithm for compensating the phase-shift error of polarization-based parallel two-step phase-shifting digital holography, which is a technique for recording a spatial two-step phase-shifted hologram. Although a polarization-based system of the technique has been experimentally demonstrated, there had been the problem that the phase difference of two phase-shifted holograms had been changed by the extinction ratio of the micropolarizer array attached to the image sensor used in the system. To improve the performance of the system, we established and formulated an algorithm for compensating the phase-shift error. Accurate spatial phase-shifting interferometry in the system can be conducted by the algorithm regardless of phase-shift error due to the extinction ratio. By the numerical simulation, the proposed algorithm was capable of reducing the root mean square errors of the reconstructed image by 1/4 and 1/5 in amplitude and phase, respectively. Also, the algorithm was experimentally demonstrated, and the experimental results showed that the system employing the proposed algorithm suppressed the conjugate image, which slightly appeared in the image reconstructed by the system not employing the algorithm, even when the extinction ratio was 10:1. Thus, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm was numerically and experimentally verified.  相似文献

We describe what we believe is a new phase-shifting algorithm called a double three-step algorithm developed to reduce the measurement error of a three-dimensional shape-measurement system, which is based on digital fringe-projection and phase-shifting techniques. After comparing the performance of different existing phase-shifting algorithms, we present the new double three-step algorithm based on the error analysis of the standard three-step algorithm. In this algorithm, three-step phase shifting is done twice with an initial phase offset of 60 degrees between them, and the two obtained phase maps are averaged to generate the final phase map. Both theoretical and experimental results showed that this new algorithm worked well in significantly reducing the measurement error.  相似文献

We present a polarization Linnik interference microscope with a nematic liquid-crystal (NLC) phase shifter for full-field optical coherence tomography of high-quality images. The rotating half-wave plate in conventional achromatic phase shifters was replaced by three liquid-crystal (LC) half-wave plates for implementing three-step phase-shifting interferometry. Thus, the NLC device generates phase shifts quickly and has no vibrations. In addition, the phase shift can be set to an arbitrary value between 0 and 2π by altering the azimuth angles of the LC cells. A tomographic image is retrieved from three sequential phase-shifted interferograms by using a three-step algorithm. The experimental results confirm the feasibility of the proposed technology.  相似文献

A method for phase measurement in common-path interferometers, believed to be novel, is presented. We use the property of phase reconstruction algorithms, such as the Carré and Hariharan algorithms, that do not require uniform phase across the reference beam. Only the ratio of the phase steps must be the same at each pixel. We show phase measurement and reconstruction in a common-path interferometer by shifting either the tilt or the focus of the reference wave front. We present a theoretical explanation of phase measurement using this property. We also present results from a proof-of-principle experiment using a scatterplate interferometer, in conjunction with the tilt phase-shifting technique, to measure the reflected phase of a test optical element. Furthermore, we present a computer simulation to demonstrate the mathematical validity of this measurement technique using defocus shifting, rather than tilt shifting, in the reference wave front.  相似文献

We propose a color digital holography by using spectral estimation technique to improve the color reproduction of objects. In conventional color digital holography, there is insufficient spectral information in holograms, and the color of the reconstructed images depend on only reflectances at three discrete wavelengths used in the recording of holograms. Therefore the color-composite image of the three reconstructed images is not accurate in color reproduction. However, in our proposed method, the spectral estimation technique was applied, which has been reported in multispectral imaging. According to the spectral estimation technique, the continuous spectrum of object can be estimated and the color reproduction is improved. The effectiveness of the proposed method was confirmed by a numerical simulation and an experiment, and, in the results, the average color differences are decreased from 35.81 to 7.88 and from 43.60 to 25.28, respectively.  相似文献

Abstract: Phase‐shifting digital holographic interferometry is a new method to measure displacement distribution on the surface of an object. Usually holography has speckle noise, which leads to a large error in the analysis of displacement and strain distributions. We previously proposed windowed phase‐shifting digital holographic interferometry (windowed PSDHI). The use of this method leads to accurate displacement analysis, decreasing the effect of speckle patterns. However, noise reduction involves a defect, which renders the spatial resolution low. In this paper, by comparing the conventional noise reduction method using spatial averaging with the windowed PSDHI on spatial resolution, the effectiveness of noise reduction is discussed.  相似文献

A method for optical encryption of three-dimensional (3D) information by use of digital holography is presented. A phase-shifting interferometer records the phase and amplitude information generated by a 3D object at a plane located in the Fresnel diffraction region with an intensity-recording device. Encryption is performed optically by use of the Fresnel diffraction pattern of a random phase code. Images of the 3D object with different perspectives and focused at different planes can be generated digital or optically after decryption with the proper key. Experimental results are presented.  相似文献

We describe data compression in phase-shifting digital holography. We demonstrate by experimentation that an image of a diffusely reflecting object can be reconstructed only by phase data of the derived complex amplitude. It is shown that reduction of the bit depth of the phase data does not seriously damage the image even down to 1 bit. We observe enhancement of halo in the image with low bit depths. This tendency is verified quantitatively by a one-dimensional simulation. Our procedure for smoothing the images that result from the data-compression methods is shown to be effective.  相似文献

The use of an optical fringe projection method with two-step phase shifting for three-dimensional (3-D) shape measurement of small objects is described. In this method, sinusoidal linear fringes are projected onto an object's surface by a programmable liquid-crystal display (LCD) projector and a long-working-distance microscope (LWDM). The image of the fringe pattern is captured by another LWDM and a CCD camera and processed by a phase-shifting technique. Usually a minimum of three phase-shifted fringe patterns is necessary for extraction of the object shape. In this method, a new algorithm based on a two-step phase-shifting technique produces the 3-D object shape. Unlike in the conventional method, phase unwrapping is performed directly by use of an arccosine function without the need for a wrapped phase map. Hence, shape measurement can be speeded up greatly with this approach. A small coin is evaluated to demonstrate the validity of the proposed measurement method, and the experimental results are compared with those of the four-step phase-shifting method and the conventional mechanical stylus method.  相似文献

A structured light system using a digital video projector is widely used for 3D shape measurement. However, the nonlinear gamma of the projector causes the projected fringe patterns to be nonsinusoidal, which results in phase error and therefore measurement error. It has been shown that, by using a small look-up table (LUT), this type of phase error can be reduced significantly for a three-step phase-shifting algorithm. We prove that this algorithm is generic for any phase-shifting algorithm. Moreover, we propose a new LUT generation method by analyzing the captured fringe image of a flat board directly. Experiments show that this error compensation algorithm can reduce the phase error to at least 13 times smaller.  相似文献

A novel TV holography method is proposed for parallel evaluation of in-plane and out-of-plane deformation fields. The method permits a trade-off between in-plane and out-of-plane measuring sensitivity. A four-exposure, four-frame phase shifting technique is used in the experiments; the experimental results for an aluminum specimen subjected to both rotation in its own plane and a bending couple load at the center are presented.  相似文献

We present an optoelectronic method to analyze three-dimensional (3D) scenes that is able to detect the presence, and also the position and orientation, of a reference 3D object. The data-acquisition procedure is based on digital holography. A phase-shifting interferometer records a single digital Fresnel hologram of the 3D scene with an intensity-recording device. Holographic information of the 3D reference object is also obtained with the same method. Correlation techniques are then applied to recognize the presence and position of the 3D reference object in the 3D scene. The technique also allows us to detect the 3D reference with a small out-of-plane rotation. Preliminary experimental results are presented that demonstrate the theory.  相似文献

A new parallel photodisplacement technique that achieves extremely high-throughput imaging is proposed, and its practical realization is studied numerically. In this technique, a linear region of photothermal displacement is excited by use of a line-focusing intensity-modulated laser beam and detected with a parallel heterodyne interferometer in which a charge-coupled device linear image sensor is used. Because of the integration and sampling effects of the sensor, the interference light is spatiotemporally multiplexed. To extract the photodisplacement component from the multiplexed sensor signal, a scheme of phase-shifting light integration under an undersampling condition is proposed for parallel interferometry. The frequencies of several control signals, including the heterodyne beat signal, modulation signal, and sensor gate signal, are optimized so as to eliminate undesirable components, allowing only the displacement component to be extracted. Preliminary numerical simulation results show that the proposed technique has the potential to perform photodisplacement imaging more than 10,000 times faster than conventional photoacoustic microscopy.  相似文献

We propose a new computer-controlled phase-shifting method based on computer-generated holograms (CGHs) displayed on a spatial light modulator (SLM). In this method the accurate phase shifts required in phase-shifting digital holography or interferometry are induced by a suitable transformation of the encoding patterns of the CGH displayed on a SLM. Both the theoretical analysis and the experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of this approach. We also discuss possible applications of this method in the field of interferometric null testing of aspheres.  相似文献

We present results from numerical simulations of a dynamic phase-shifting speckle interferometer used in the presence of mechanical vibrations. The simulation is based on a detailed mathematical model of the system, which is used to predict the expected frequency response of the rms measurement error, in the time-varying phase difference maps, as a result of vibration. The performance of different phase-shifting algorithms is studied over a range of vibrational frequencies. Phase-difference evaluation is performed by means of temporal phase shifting and temporal phase unwrapping. It is demonstrated that longer sampling windows and higher framing rates are preferred in order to reduce the phase-change error that is due to vibration. A numerical criterion for an upper limit on the length of time window for the phase-shifting algorithm is also proposed. The numerical results are finally compared with experimental data, acquired with a phase-shifting speckle interferometer of 1000 frames/s.  相似文献

We discuss image formation in phase-shifting digital holography by developing an analytical formulation based on the Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction theory. Image-plane position and imaging magnification are derived for general configurations in which a spherical reference is employed. The influences of discrete sampling of the resulting interference patterns by a CCD and numerical reconstruction on qualities of point images are investigated. Dependence of the point images on the ratio of the minimum fringe spacing to pixel pitch of the CCD is numerically analyzed. Two-point resolution and magnification are also investigated as a function of pixel numbers by a simulation using a one-dimensional model. In experiments magnified images of biological objects and a resolution target were reconstructed with the same quality as by conventional microscopy.  相似文献
