The Design and Application of a Minority Logic Gate-A Senior Project

As a senior laboratory project, fifteen minority logic gates were designed and built utilizing MOS field-effect transistors. The minority gates were then used as logic modules in the design of a binary comparator, a parallel binary adder, and a ternary counter. While the project did not yield an economically competitive logic gate, minority logic applications were verified, student creativity was encouraged, and a facility was developed for future laboratory projects.

PROFIBUS-DP广泛应用于工业控制系统当中.在水质在线监测中,PROFIBUS因为其传输速率较快而被运用,为保证数据通信正常传输,通常采用双网数据通信,当一条总线出现问题时,可以利用冗余总线切换设计.在切换设计中运用了FPGA,使得数据可以正常及时的传输,利用FPGA实现了双网逻辑切换,保证数据可以正常传输,不会因为一方总线故障而丢失信息.仿真实验证明可以达到预定目标,具有可行性.     

An Undergraduate Design/Project Course Utilizing a Microcomputer

Project-based courses offer one of the greatest education opportunities in an electrical engineering student's undergraduate curriculum. The ultimate success of this type of educational experience is keyed primarily to 1) the selection of a project with a high chance of success along with the right amount of challenge and 2) adequate planning. Faculty may choose to avoid a microcomputer-based design/ project due to their lack of experience in selecting suitable projects and planning for the support required. This paper describes a project which has considerable flexibility for individual definition of goals and, hence, the amount of challenge can, in some sense, be customized. The support required for a microcomputer-based design/project is distinct from that of a conventional design/project course. These planning and support requirements for microcomputer-based projects are described along with the course structure, content and approach to grading

Design of a Ferroelectric Programmable Logic Gate Array

A programmable logic gate array has been designed utilizing ferroelectric field effect transistors. The design has only a small number of gates, but this could be scaled up to a more useful size. Using FFETs in a logic array gives several advantages. First, it allows real-time programmability to the array to give high speed reconfiguration. It also allows the array to be configured nearly an unlimited number of times, unlike a FLASH FPGA. Finally, the Ferroelectric Programmable Logic Gate Array (FPLGA) can be implemented using a smaller number of transistors because of the inherent logic characteristics of an FFET. The devices were only designed and modeled using Spice models of the circuit, including the FFET. The actual device was not produced. The designs consist of a small array of logic gates. Other gates could easily be produced. They are linked by FFETs that control the logic flow. Timing and logic tables have been produced showing the array can produce a variety of logic combinations at a real time usable speed. This device could be a prototype for a device that could be put into imbedded systems that need the high speed of hardware implementation of logic and the complexity to need to change the logic algorithm. Because of the non-volatile nature of the FFET, it would also be useful in situations that needed to program a logic array once and use it repeatedly after the power has been shut off.

An Electronic Instrumentation Design Project for Computer Engineering Students

Ongoing technological progress in electronic instrumentation triggered the development of an innovative, hands-on teaching program to help students toward a fuller understanding of recent changes in the field. This paper describes the different stages of a design project to teach electronic instrumentation to computer engineering students at the University of Oviedo, GijÓn, Spain. The project involves designing a weather station to measure the main meteorological variables and then displaying this information on a computer screen. Although this course is intended for nonspecialist students of electronics, it could easily be adapted to other syllabuses with minimum modification of the specifications. The course provides not only enhanced academic training but also increased student motivation, as students participate actively in all course activities and work in a team within which each student has specific responsibilities.

一种基于蓝牙通信的FPGA无线下载器设计

在对Xilinx可编程器件进行配置的过程中,为了避免必须使用专用有线下载器的弊端,设计了一种基于蓝牙通信的无线下载器。以ST公司STM32F103单片机作为下载器的核心处理器,主从机一体蓝牙模块HC-05负责接收无线数据并交由单片机处理,片外存储器SD卡负责存储通过无线接收的器件配置文件。在ARM处理器中嵌入FATFS文件系统方便管理配置文件,通过解码程序将配置文件转化为符合JTAG协议的时序信号完成对可编程器件的配置,实现了对Xilinx可编程器件FPGA的无线配置。

Operation Stalactite was a senior project to design and build a frequency stabilized helium-neon laser. The project objectives, approach, and teaching techniques are reviewed. Insights into student interactions and efforts to focus an undergraduate education will be given. Stalactite required the students to organize, plan, propose, and execute research plan in accordance with a schedule and budget. Reactions, educational benefits, and results of a post-project survey will be given.     

An Undergraduate Project on a Piezoelectric Loudspeaker

A sophomore laboratory project of growing a piezoelectric crystal for use in the construction of a loudspeaker is described. This project was quite successful in stimulating student interest and imagination and also has the advantages of being inexpensive and requiring only standard laboratory equipment.     

基于FPGA的某型遥测装置检测工作台设计

针对传统的信号源只能产生单一的信号、不可调等缺点,及本次某型遥测装置的测试需求,提出了一种基于上位机控制输出并且可以手动调节的检测工作台设计方案。本文对检测工作台结构、工作原理进行了详细的设计和分析,以及上位机的简单介绍,该检测工作台以FPGA、数字量板、继电器为核心,具有集成度高、多路复用、结构简单、操作便捷等特点。检测工作台包含2路数字量、13路可调的模拟信号和1路-230V~0V模拟电压,13路模拟信号通过上位机实现0~30V模拟电压调节,1路-230V~0V模拟电压由220V逆变器得到。试验表明该检测工作台的数字量输出完全正确,模拟量的输出误差小于1%,完全满足此次测试的要求,并且抗干扰能力强,具有很好的复用性和实用价值。
