A two-dimensional (2-D) least squares (LS)-based filtering scheme for high fidelity stereo image compression applications is introduced in this correspondence. This method removes the effects of mismatching in a stereo image pair by applying the left image as the reference input to a 2-D transversal filter while the right image is used as the desired output. The weights of the filter are computed using a block-based LS method. A reduced order filtering scheme is also introduced to find the optimum number of filter coefficients. The principal coefficients and the disparity vectors are used together with left image to reconstruct the right image at the receiver, The proposed schemes are examined on a real stereo image pair for 3D-TV applications and the results were benchmarked against those of the block-matching method.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel approach that performs post-processing for stereo matching. We improve the performance of stereo matching by performing consistency check and adaptive filtering in an iterative filtering scheme. The consistency check is only done with asymmetric information so that very few additional computational loads are necessary. The information in the valid pixels is propagated into invalid pixels through the adaptive filtering. The proposed post-filtering method can be used in various methods for stereo matching. We demonstrate the validity of the proposed method by applying it to hierarchical belief propagation and semi-global matching. The performance of the post-processing method for hierarchical belief propagation is comparable to state-of-the-art methods in the Middlebury stereo datasets. In order to verify the performance of asymmetric consistency check, we compare it with other reliability estimation methods in the proposed post-processing scheme. Moreover, in order to verify the performance of post-filtering method in noisy environment, the proposed post-filtering method is applied to the stereo images denoised by NL-means algorithm. We find that the iterative filtering scheme reduce an error which may be caused in stereo matching for the denoised images and improve the performance of stereo matching.  相似文献

A strategy for efficiently coding stereo video sequences is investigated. To fully utilize the suppression and the contrast sensitivity property of the human visual system, a novel coding scheme with two special mechanisms, the spatiotemporal HVS model and the binary correlation disparity estimator, is proposed to efficiently reduce the video signal redundancy and the computational complexity, while maintaining a high subjective image quality. Compared with existing stereo video coding systems, the proposed coding scheme supports a lower transmission bit rate and has less computational complexity. The simulation results also show that the subjective image quality of the reconstructed full color stereo sequences at 0.25-0.4 bits per pixel (bpp) is satisfactory  相似文献

Based on the classical fractal video compression method, an improved object-based stereo video compression scheme with Shape-Adaptive DCT is proposed in this paper. Firstly, we use more effective macroblock partition scheme instead of classical quadtree partition scheme; thus reducing the block searching strategy. The stereo fractal video coding is proposed which matches the macroblock with two reference frames in left and right view results in increasing compression ratio and reducing bit rate when transmitting compressed stereo data. The stereo codec combines the Motion Compensation Prediction (MCP) and Disparity Compensation Prediction (DCP). Fractal coding is adopted and each object is encoded independently by a prior video segmentation alpha plane, which is defined exactly as in MPEG-4. The testing results with the nature monocular and stereo video sequences provide promising performances at low bit rate coding. We believe it will be a powerful and efficient technique for the object-based monocular and stereo video sequences coding.  相似文献

The Multidimensional Multiscale Parser (MMP) is a pattern-matching-based generic image encoding solution which has been investigated earlier for the compression of stereo images with successful results. While first MMP-based proposals for stereo image coding employed dictionary-based techniques for disparity compensation, posterior developments have demonstrated the advantage of using predictive methods. In this paper, we focus on recent investigations on the use of predictive methods in the MMP algorithm and propose a new prediction framework for efficient stereo image coding. This framework comprises an advanced intra directional prediction model and a new linear predictive scheme for efficient disparity compensation. The linear prediction model is the main novelty of this work, combining adaptive linear models estimated by least-squares algorithm with fixed linear models provided by the block-matching algorithm. The performance of the proposed intra prediction and disparity compensation methods when applied in an MMP encoder has been evaluated experimentally. Comparisons with the current stereo image coding standards showed that the proposed MMP algorithm significantly outperforms the Stereo High Profile of H.264/AVC standard. In addition, it presents a competitive performance relative to the MV-HEVC standard. These results also suggest that current stereo image coding standards may benefit from the proposed linear prediction scheme for disparity compensation, as an extension to the omnipresent block-matching solution.  相似文献

FM multiplex broadcasting is a system for providing additional text and graphics, while maintaining compatibility with existing stereo sound broadcasting. The digital signals are multiplexed in a higher frequency band than baseband FM stereo signals. This paper describes a modulation method and an error correction method for a new high-capacity FM multiplex broadcasting system called DARC (Data Radio Channel), which has a bit rate of 16 kbit/s. Simulation results show that stereo sound signals interfere with a multiplexing signal under multipath conditions. LMSK (level controlled MSK) is proposed as a modulation scheme to ensure good transmission quality. It is shown that an error correction scheme using a product code of (272190) codes has a good performance for mobile reception. Field tests on the DARC for mobile reception are conducted in the service area of the NHK Tokyo FM station. These show that the correct reception rate can be obtained at more than 80% when transmitting information of 6 kbytes  相似文献

运动补偿预测.视差补偿预测以及两者相结合的联合补偿预测是研究立体视频编码的关键技术。不同预测模式不仅考虑了左右视频通道各自的时间相关性、而且考虑到了左右视频通道之间的空间相关性。本文提出了一种自适应选择预测模式的立体视频编码算法,并在预测模式确定后通过选取不同的加权值来达到联合补偿预测的目的。实验结果表明,本文提出的算法在改善编码性能的同时,提高了编码速度。  相似文献

随着3D技术的发展,3D电影逐渐进入到一个快速发展阶段.低感知强鲁棒的数字水印方案是水印技术在3D电影版权保护应用中的一项研究重点.已有的研究证明,基于HVS的JND模型在提高水印不可见性上具有很好的效果,但是现有的JND模型大都建立在单目视觉掩蔽特性基础上,而对于立体图像需要进一步考虑双目视觉掩蔽特性.提出了一种基于BJND(Binocular JND)模型的立体图像鲁棒水印算法.水印嵌入强度受BJND值调制后,使得水印表现出更好的透明性.实验结果证明,在水印不可见的条件下,基于BJND模型的立体水印方案在抵抗加噪、JPEG压缩等全局攻击上具有更强的鲁棒性.  相似文献
