针对高清视频信号处理对动态范围大,运算速度快的模数转换器(ADC)的要求,提出了一种流水线宽带电流型运算放大器。该运算放大器的主放大器采用套筒式增益提高结构,辅助运算放大器用电流型放大器替代。采用电流共模反馈电路调节主运算放大器的支路电流以稳定输出共模电平;采用TSMC 0.18μm CMOS工艺设计电路。实验结果显示:辅助运算放大器采用源极输入,减小了信号主通路上的寄生电容,提高了整个运算放大器的电路速度。运算放大器的增益为83.19dB,相位裕度为61.6°,单位增益带宽为1.6GHz,功耗为9.3mW;在满幅度阶跃输入的情况下,输出建立时间小于1.83ns。将该运算放大器用于高清视频信号的流水线ADC中,实现了170MS/s,10bit精度的模数转换。同传统的电压型运算放大器相比,该运算放大器响应速度更快,功耗更低,可满足处理视频信号的要求。  相似文献

The paper presents the foundations of a new approach to design, optimisation and modelling of a new class of pipeline analogue-to-digital converters (PADC). The approach employs the results of analytical and applied research on the concurrent optimisation of the analogue and digital parts of adaptive estimation systems. Application of the approach allows to modify the known architecture and principles of conversion used in conventional PADC in the way significantly improving quality of conversion. Particularities of functioning of new PADC were studied in advanced simulation experiments, which confirmed the results of analytical investigations. Special attention was paid to comparison of the performance of new and known PADC and assessment of potentially achievable benefits.  相似文献

This article presents the different ways used to characterize A/D converters through the “CanTest System” test bench and its functionalities. The different ways used to characterize A/D converters dynamically could be organized into three parts: time domain, statistical and spectral analysis. The most commonly used algorithms in time domain analysis are presented. Due to instrumentation error, some may give “inaccurate” results. We explain why and propose a new method based on a direct estimation of conversion noise to avoid this problem. The different methods and applications linked to statistical analysis are also described. We explain the three different methods used to measure the differential non-linearity (DNL) and the integral non-linearity (INL). A comparison between these three algorithms in simulation and through an experimental case shows that their behaviours differ when the histogram presents edging effects. The final study presented in this paper concerns the A/D converter performance evaluation by analysis in frequency domain. From the output power spectrum, relationships are given for the computation of all spectral parameters. We present a correction to include in the computation of spectral parameters when the analog input does not span the entire full-scale range of the A/D converter under test. When the input generator provides a sine wave with harmonics, we propose the “Dual-Tone” method in order to separate the distortion associated with the component and the one associated with the generator. In the last part of this paper, we describe the test bench giving its specifications (acquisition system, frequency range,…). Some typical measurements and comments about the interest of analysis in different modes are given also.  相似文献

Dithering is a useful technique that removes quantization error and part of the linearity error in A/D converters. Removing the remaining static error requires a periodical fast measurement of the characteristic, which is a rather difficult task because of the intrinsic very high resolution of the dithered device. Focusing on this issue, the paper examines three possible test methods: statistical analysis, time domain analysis, and, with more detail, frequency domain analysis. The peculiar nature of the static characteristic of dithered converters makes the third method particularly attractive. The frequency domain technique is proposed, therefore, as a good practical tool for implementing linearization in A/D converters with dither.  相似文献

The paper presents a new method of elimination of influence of drift-like errors in so called intelligent cyclic A/D converters, in particular, errors caused by drifts (droops) of voltage at the output of sample-and-hold blocks. The method is based on application of the extended multi-dimensional algorithm, which estimates simultaneously values of the input sample and drift rate. Implementation of the extended algorithm in the intelligent cyclic A/D converters requires only insignificant changes in the digital part of the converter and does not increase their production costs. The motivations to these investigations resulted from practical realizations of the intelligent cyclic A/D converter in CMOS technology and difficulties in design of a precise sample-and-hold circuit. The results of selected simulation experiments related to analysis of influence of a droop rate on the final performance of the intelligent cyclic A/D converters employing the standard (one-dimensional) and extended algorithms are discussed and compared in the paper. The results of experiments show that application of the proposed solution enables efficient functioning of the converters even in the presence of relatively large drifts.  相似文献
