Warm and hot punching using resistance heating was developed to improve the quality of sheared edges of an ultra high strength steel sheet. As the heating temperature increased, the depth of the shiny burnished surface on the sheared edge increased and that of the rough fracture surface decreased. The rollover depth and burr height of the sheared edge became large above 800 °C. Although the roughness of the burnished surface was almost constant, the roughness of the fracture surface increased from 650 °C. The punching load was extremely reduced by the heating, i.e. 40% of the cold punching load at 650 °C and 15% at 1070 °C. The local resistance heating of the shearing region was efficient for the warm and hot shearing. It was found that the warm and hot shearing of ultra high strength steel sheets is effective for improving the quality of the sheared edge and in reducing the shearing load. 相似文献

Based on detailed three-dimensional (3-D) local-electrode atom-probe (LEAP) tomographic measurements of the properties of Cu and M2C precipitates, the yield strength of a high-toughness secondary-hardening steel, BA160, as a function of aging time is predicted using a newly developed 3-D yield strength model. Contributions from each strengthening constituent are evaluated with the model, and superposition laws are applied to add each contribution. Prediction of the yield strength based entirely on 3-D microstructural information is thus achieved. The accuracy of the prediction depends on the superposition laws and the LEAP tomographic measurements, especially the mean radius and volume fraction of M2C precipitates. 相似文献

The paper concentrates on investigation results dealing with ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) dies for the use in sheet
metal hydroforming. A special mixture of UHPC for these tools with its mechanical properties and its manufacturing is presented.
The developed UHPC features a compressive strength of approx. 250 MPa and a Young’s modulus of approx. 50 GPa. Applying internal
pressure, the UHPC die (without confinement or reinforcement) failed between 80 and 96 MPa. The forming test proved a good
shape accuracy of the sheet metal parts but revealed critical tribological conditions. Drawing foil and already formed sheet
metal parts were tested successfully as interlayer and led to an appropriate material flow and surface quality of the sheet
