Resonant frequency characteristics of rectangular resonators in a generalized shielded suspended substrate line are analysed using a rigorous spectral domain technique. The computed dominant mode resonant frequency of rectangular resonators in a suspended microstrip with centred dielectric, inverted microstrip and suspended microstrip are presented as a function of various structural parameters. These characteristics are distinct from those obtained for a conventional microstrip rectangular resonator. Experiments are carried out in the frequency range 4-18 GHz to verify the computed resonant frequencies for a suspended microstrip with a centred dielectric using first-order basis functions. The results should find applications in the design of inverted microstrip and suspended microstrip passive microwave and millimetre wave integrated circuits.  相似文献

The curved microstrip bend consisting of a microstrip ring segment between two microstrip lines is analyzed for its transmission properties. The microstrip lines are modeled by equivalent ideal magnetic wall waveguides for which the electromagnetic field solutions are known. The field solutions in the microstrip ring segment are derived by using a perturbation analysis of a modified (magnetic wall) curved waveguide model. Other techniques have been formulated to evaluate the fields inside curved metallic waveguides. These include the use of an equivalent nonuniformly loaded straight waveguide and rectangular and annular model analysis. The perturbation solution for the fields in the equivalent curved waveguide model presented is readily adaptable to the mode-matching procedure, and is used to calculate the properties of the curved microstrip bend discontinuities. The frequency-dependent reflection and transmission coefficients of curved microstrip bends are determined and compared with those of the right-angle and chamfered right-angle microstrip bends  相似文献

Loading a triangular microstrip antenna with a shorting pin can significantly reduce the antenna size at a given operating frequency. Experimental results of such a triangular microstrip antenna are presented. Variations of the resonant frequency of the triangular microstrip patch with different shorting-pin positions are given, and comparisons of the compact and conventional triangular microstrip antennas are also presented and discussed  相似文献

A 90° microstrip bend is characterized using a time-frequency method based on the finite-difference-time-domain (FDTD) method. Time evolution of the currents generated by FDTD are Fourier transformed to lead to S-parameters and the radiated powers characteristic of the microstrip bend. The method for calculating both radiation and surface wave losses is developed for microstrip structures. The results of the 90° microstrip bend are compared with the results of the mitered microstrip bend  相似文献

Variational Method for the Analysis of Microstrip-Like Transmission Lines   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A theoretical method is presented by which microstrip-like transmission lines can be analyzed. These transmission lines are characterized by conducting strips, large ground planes, multi-dielectric-layer insulation, and planar geometry. The method is essentially based on a variational calculation of the line capacitance in the Fourier-transformed domain and on the charge density distribution as a trial function. A shielded double-layer microstrip line is analyzed by this method. Derived formulas for this structure are also applicable to simpler structures: a double-layer microstrip line, a shielded microstrip line, and a microstrip line. The calculated values of the line capacitance and the guide wavelength are compared with the measured values where possible. Oxide-layer effects on a silicon microstrip line and shielding effects on a sapphire microstrip line are also discussed based on this theory. The limitations and possible applications of this method are described.  相似文献

研究了一种复合基底微机械微带,通过理论推导得出微机械微带的特性计算表达式。首先用计算机模拟该微机械微带的性能,再用表面微细加工工艺加工了该微机械微带模型,最后用安捷伦矢量网络分析仪器测试模型,得出该微带在100GHz内无色散,最大损耗小于2dB。该微机械微带利于集成、尺度微小,可应用在微波、毫米波通信系统(器件)中,克服了常规微带在高频工作时色散严重、损耗大等缺点。  相似文献

Radiation and scattering characteristics of microstrip antennas and arrays printed on ferrite substrates with a normal magnetic bias field are described. The extra degree of freedom offered by the biased ferrite can be used to obtain a number of novel characteristics, including switchable and tunable circularly polarized radiation from a microstrip antenna having a single feed point, dynamic wide-angle impedance matching for phased arrays of microstrip antennas, and a switchable radar cross section reduction technique for microstrip antennas. Results are obtained from full-wave moment method solutions for single microstrip antennas and infinite arrays of microstrip antennas. A cavity model solution for a circular patch antenna on a biased ferrite substrate is also presented, to aid in understanding the operation of these antennas  相似文献

Three microstrip antennas of increasing complexity with electromagnetic and heating characteristics potentially suitable as applicators for superficial hyperthermia have been designed, developed, and tested in different radiative conditions: a microstrip disk, a microstrip annular-slot, and a microstrip spiral. Electromagnetic design criteria are presented together with the determinations of the applicator return loss versus frequency and thermograms of the near-field heating pattern in muscle-like phantom. 非平行微带线是印刷电路板(PCB)上不可避免的互连结构。针对PCB 上非平行微带线间的串扰问题,用平行微带线近似非平行微带线,把平行耦合微带线间的串扰抵消方法应用到非平行耦合微带线中,提出了利用耦合传输线信道传输矩阵方法来进行远端串扰抵消,在对非平行耦合传输线信道传输矩阵进行特征值分解的基础上构建串扰抵消电路。仿真了非平行微带线间夹角分别为q=3°、5°、10°时的串扰,结果表明,该方法可以有效改善非平行微带线上信号眼图的质量,串扰抵消效果良好。  相似文献

为了使微带均衡器满足衰减特性与给定的误差曲线逐点拟和的要求,就必须使其频率可调、衰减可调、品质因数可调。因此,本文通过大量仿真和实验,研究了加载了薄膜电阻的微带谐振器及其在微带均衡器中的应用,研究分析了薄膜电阻对微带均衡器传输特性及驻波特性的影响。研究结果表明将薄膜电阻加载到微带谐振器上构造微带均衡器,可以通过改变谐振器的尺寸使其频率可调,通过改变电阻阻值及位置使其衰减可调、品质因数可调。大量HFSS仿真及实验证明这种方式很适合微带均衡器的设计制造。本文利用这种结构设计制作出了一个宽带微带均衡器,得到了很好的实验结果。  相似文献

A convenient model for analyzing coupled microstrip line discontinuities is presented. A planar-lumped model similar to the planar waveguide model for single microstrip lines is developed for coupled microstrip lines. Fields underneath the two strips and those fringing at the outer edge are modeled by two equivalent planar waveguides. Electric and magnetic field coupling in the gap region is modeled by a lumped network. The lumped network parameters are evaluated such that [C] and [L] matrices for the model are identical with those for coupled lines. The model is verified by comparing coupler characteristics with those obtained by the conventional coupled line analysis. Just as the planar model of a single microstrip has been used for characterizing microstrip discontinuities, the planar-lumped model developed is used for coupled line discontinuities. Examples given include coupled microstrip sections with chamfered bends located at right angles to single microstrip lines, for which the results are in good agreement with experimental values  相似文献

This paper describes a computer-aided analysis of dissipation losses in uniform isolated or coupled transmission lines for microwave and millimeter-wave integrated-circuit applications. The analysis employs a quasi-TEM model for isolated transmission lines and for the even- and odd-mode transmission lines associated with coupled-line structures. The conductor and dielectric losses are then related to equivalent charge density distributions, which are evaluated using a method-of-moments solution. The transmission lines treated by this analysis may contain any number of Iossy conductors and inhomogeneous dielectrics, consisting of any number of different homogeneous dielectric regions. A development is provided to explicitly relate the four-port terminal-electrical performance of directional couplers to evaluated even- and odd- mode loss coefficients. Examples of evaluated losses are presented in graphical form for isolated lines of inverted microstrip and trapped inverted microstrip and edge-coupled microstrip with a dielectric overlay. The analysis accuracy has been confirmed using microstrip and coplanar waveguide configurations. A comparison is made of the total loss characteristics for microstrip, coplanar waveguide, inverted microstrip, and trapped inverted microstrip. Calculations are compared with measurements for the coupled-line structure. Accuracy of the solution and suggested refinements are discussed. Five computer programs are documented.  相似文献

The method of moments is applied to three-dimensional microstrip problems to calculate lumped (or excess) capacitance. As examples, the capacitance of open-circuited microstrip lines and the capacitance of rectangular microstrip sections are computed. The open-circuit data are basic to any three-dimensional problem. The method is a general one and can be used to compute the lumped capacitance of any microstrip discontinuity, such as bends and T junctions.  相似文献

Periodically nonuniform microstrip lines are analyzed on the basis of a numerical field calculation. Floquet's theorem is used to express all field quantities in terms of their spatial harmonics, so that the problem can be treated similarly to the uniform microstrip line. The boundary-value problem for the microstrip line in an enclosure is formulated in a rigorous way and then solved using Galerkin's method in the Fourier-transform domain. Numerical and experimental results are presented for a sinusoidal and a zigzag-shaped microstrip line.  相似文献

The quasi-TEM characteristics of a class of cylindrical microstrip lines are rigorously determined. The class of microstrip lines considered consists of multiple infinitesimally thin strips on a multilayered dielectric substrate on a perfectly conducting wedge. Expressions for the potential distribution inside and outside the dielectric substrate, charge distribution on the strips, and capacitance matrix of the microstrip lines are derived. The problems of a microstrip line on a cylindrically capped wedge and on a cylindrical dielectric substrate on perfectly conducting core are also considered as special cases. One particular discontinuity encountered in microstrip circuitry, the end effect of microstrip lines, is discussed. Experimental data of the end effect of 10 microstrip lines are plotted and compared with previously published data. With the appropriate placement of the slots and via holes, the microstrip second higher order leaky-mode antenna fed by a microstrip is presented. Two main beams with titled angles from the strip are measured in the predicted radiation leaky band. The leaky band of the microstrip second higher order mode is deduced from the characteristics of the propagation constants that are calculated by the spectral domain analysis.
