In pharmaceutical industry, micronization is used to achieve solubility enhancement through the increase in specific surface area, and finally improving the dissolution rate of the drug. Industrial application of micronization is mostly based on experience and trial and error method. This research deals with the micronization of dronedarone hydrochloride and the path for evaluation of characteristics of micronized drug. Micronization was performed in laboratory spiral jet mill and the samples were analyzed to determine particle size distribution, span of distribution, sphericity, shape, and specific surface area. Results were analyzed using analysis of variance and in terms of specific energy consumption. Paths for evaluation of particle size and span of distribution were proposed and good correlation between experimental and model results was achieved. 相似文献

A systematic study on the comminution of amorphous glass particles with complex composition (seven constituents) to produce nanoparticles has been performed in a high-energy stirred media mill. The influence of solids loading, dispersion stabilisation via pH and addition of dispersants on particle size was investigated in aqueous suspensions. Further, the effect of using 2-propanol and benzyl alcohol as dispersion media on the particle size and morphology is presented and compared to the aqueous system. The specific surface area of the product powder was analysed by the BET method, the secondary particle size was determined by static light scattering and the morphology was investigated by SEM and TEM. Dispersion viscosity and stability was measured using rotational viscosimetry and zeta-potential measurements, respectively. The results show that the solids loading plays a central role in the comminution efficiency, where lower loadings lead to finer particles after a given milling time. Stabilisation of the aqueous powder dispersion by adjusting the pH or by adding a dispersant did not result in an enhanced milling efficiency in terms of fast reduction of the particle size. The smallest glass nanoparticles with a primary particle size were achieved by a two-step comminution process. The particles were irregularly shaped when milled in water, however, when processed in 2-propanol and benzyl alcohol, they had a plate-like geometry. 相似文献

Parameter effects on dry fine pulverization of alumina particles in a fluidized bed opposed jet mill
The paper presents the experimental results on dry fine pulverization of alumina particles in a fluidized bed opposed jet mill. The effect of operating parameters (i.e., feed load, inlet air pressure and the distance between nozzle outlet and jet meeting point) on the grinding results was investigated in detail. The breakage behaviors of alumina particles with respect to the effects of different parameters were discussed via the selection and breakage functions calculated by the first Kapur function method. In addition, the product size distributions could be simulated by a proposed model. 相似文献

Preparation of high solid loading homogeneous titania suspension using modified boiling rice extract (BRE) as consolidator (network-former)/binder for gelcasting application has been investigated. To achieve in situ consolidation forming of TiO2 ceramic, the gel network formed by swelling and gelatinization of the modified BRE (MBRE) with 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate was studied. The dispersion behaviour of the titania powder and rheology of the suspension under the influence of binder content, dispersant (Darvan 821A) concentration and pH of the dispersing media have been discussed. The present process of gel casting deals with 50-80 weight% solid loading of titania particles with MBRE (2-10 weight% to that of total solid loading) in presence of dispersant (ammonium salt of polyacrylic acid [(C4H5O2-NH4+)n]). The influence of BRE concentration and solid particle loading on rheological properties of aqueous titania suspensions has been analyzed under steady and oscillatory shear conditions. Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) on gelcast green body has been evaluated and analyzed. The characterization of green and sintered body has been done with respect to density, porosity and microstructure. 相似文献
