A 2.4 GHz low power transceiver for low-rate wireless personal area network(LR-WPAN)applications is presented.The optimized low-IF receiver consists of a novel current reuse RF front-end with an inductor-less-load balun LNA and quadrature mixer,and an adaptive analog baseband to reduce power and area.It achieves-94 dBm of sensitivity,-9 dBm of IIP3 and 28 dBc of image rejection.The phase-locked loop based direct phase modulated transmitter is proposed to reduce power and deliver a+3 dBm output power.The phase noise of the low power frequency synthesizer with current reuse stacked LC-VCO achieves-107.8 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset.An ultra-low power nonvolatile memory is used to store configuration data and save power.The chip is implemented in a 0.18μm CMOS process,and the area is less than 2.8 mm2.The transceiver consumes only 10.98 mW in the receiving mode and 13.32 mW in the transmitting mode.  相似文献

With massive amounts of data stored in databases,mining information and knowledge in databases has become an important issue in recent research.Researchers in many different fields have shown great interest in date mining and knowledge discovery in databases.Several emerging applications in information providing services,such as data warehousing and on-line services over the Internet,also call for various data mining and knowledge discovery tchniques to understand used behavior better,to improve the service provided,and to increase the business opportunities.In response to such a demand,this article is to provide a comprehensive survey on the data mining and knowledge discorvery techniques developed recently,and introduce some real application systems as well.In conclusion,this article also lists some problems and challenges for further research.  相似文献

PUCRS University has been promoting the use of iPads in its classrooms in the light of student familiarity with these mobile devices. The opportunity then arises to use such resources to improve and stimulate the teaching and learning processes. Competence in manual skills and critical thinking are expected from health professionals in order to carry out their work. However, the development of these skills is restricted to real opportunities in the field of practice at a time when the student is experiencing supervised assisted practice. The objective of this article is to report an experience with the use of iPads in the teaching of nursing and nutrition undergraduates, as a creative educational methodology and a tool for the simulation of skills and critical thinking, helping to increase general and specific cognitive abilities in support of problem solving.  相似文献

This paper presents research into applying virtual environment (VE) technology to supply chain management (SCM). Our research work has employed virtual manufacturing environments to represent supply chain nodes to simulate processes and activities in supply chain management. This will enable those who are involved in these processes and activities to gain an intuitive understanding of them, so as to design robust supply chains and make correct decisions at the right time. A framework system and its hierarchical structure for visualising and simulating supply chains in virtual environments are reported and detailed in this paper.  相似文献

Improving the network interface performance is needed by the demand of applications with high communication requirements (for example, some multimedia, real-time, and high-performance computing applications), and the availability of network links providing multiple gigabits per second bandwidths that could require many processor cycles for communication tasks. Multicore architectures, the current trend in the microprocessor development to cope with the difficulties to further increase clock frequencies and microarchitecture efficiencies, provide new opportunities to exploit the parallelism available in the nodes for designing efficient communication architectures. Nevertheless, although present OS network stacks include multiple threads that make it possible to execute network tasks concurrently in the kernel, the implementations of packet-based or connection-based parallelism are not trivial as they have to take into account issues related with the cost of synchronization in the access to shared resources and the efficient use of caches. Therefore, a common trend in many recent researches on this topic is to assign network interrupts and the corresponding protocol and network application processing to the same core, as with this affinity scheduling it would be possible to reduce the contention for shared resources and the cache misses. In this paper we propose and analyze several configurations to distribute the network interface among the different cores available in the server. These alternatives have been devised according to the affinity of the corresponding communication tasks with the location (proximity to the memories where the different data structures are stored) and characteristics of the processing core. As this approach uses several cores to accelerate the communication path of a given connection, it can be seen as complementary to those that consider several cores to simultaneously process packets belonging to either the same or different connections. Message passing interface (MPI) workloads and dynamic web servers have been considered as applications to evaluate and compare the communication performance of these alternatives. In our experiments, performed by full-system simulation, improvements of up to 35% in the throughput and up to 23% in the latency have been observed in MPI workloads, and up to 100% in the throughput, up to 500% in the response time, and up to 82% in the requests attended per second have been measured in dynamic web servers.  相似文献

A Ka-band sub-harmonically pumped resistive mixer(SHPRM) was designed and fabricated using the standard 0.18-μm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS) technology.An area-effective asymmetric broadside coupled spiral Marchand balance-to-unbalance(balun) with magnitude and phase imbalance compensation is used in the mixer to transform local oscillation(LO) signal from single to differential mode.The results showed that the SHPRM achieves the conversion gain of-15--12.5 dB at fixed fIF=0.5 GHz with 8 dBm LO input power for the radio frequency(RF) bandwidth of 28-35 GHz.The in-band LO-intermediate freqency(IF),RF-IF,and LO-RF isolations are better than 31,34,and 36 dB,respectively.Besides,the 2LO-IF and 2LO-RF isolations are better than 60 and 45 dB,respectively.The measured input referred P1dB and 3rd-order inter-modulation intercept point(IIP3) are 0.5 and 10.5 dBm,respectively.The measurement is performed under a gate bias voltage as low as 0.1 V and the whole chip only occupies an area of 0.33 mm2 including pads.  相似文献

An incubator is an organization that supports new ventures to grow and survive during the early stages. Mainly dedicated to information technology, life science may appear to be the next hot spot for incubators. Are there stabilized good practices? Are the business models in information technology and in life science comparable when it goes to start-ups' incubation? Leveraging our experience as practitioner in this field and using an inductive methodology, this paper tends to propose simple principles to help build robust incubators in life science, and to contribute to disseminate an entrepreneurial approach through an industry still dominated by blue chips.  相似文献
