Data and software are nowadays one and the same: for this very reason, the European Union (EU) and other governments introduce frameworks for data protection — a key example being the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). However, GDPR compliance is not straightforward: its text is not written by software or information engineers but rather, by lawyers and policy-makers. As a design aid to information engineers aiming for GDPR compliance, as well as an aid to software users’ understanding of the regulation, this article offers a systematic synthesis and discussion of it, distilled by the mathematical analysis method known as Formal Concept Analysis (FCA). By its principles, GDPR is synthesised as a concept lattice, that is, a formal summary of the regulation, featuring 144372 records — its uses are manifold. For example, the lattice captures so-called attribute implications, the implicit logical relations across the regulation, and their intensity. These results can be used as drivers during systems and services (re-)design, development, operation, or information systems’ refactoring towards more GDPR consistency.  相似文献

Experimental analysis of the performance of a proposed method is a crucial and necessary task in an investigation. In this paper, we focus on the use of nonparametric statistical inference for analyzing the results obtained in an experiment design in the field of computational intelligence. We present a case study which involves a set of techniques in classification tasks and we study a set of nonparametric procedures useful to analyze the behavior of a method with respect to a set of algorithms, such as the framework in which a new proposal is developed.Particularly, we discuss some basic and advanced nonparametric approaches which improve the results offered by the Friedman test in some circumstances. A set of post hoc procedures for multiple comparisons is presented together with the computation of adjusted p-values. We also perform an experimental analysis for comparing their power, with the objective of detecting the advantages and disadvantages of the statistical tests described. We found that some aspects such as the number of algorithms, number of data sets and differences in performance offered by the control method are very influential in the statistical tests studied. Our final goal is to offer a complete guideline for the use of nonparametric statistical procedures for performing multiple comparisons in experimental studies.  相似文献

Bayesian networks provide the means for representing probabilistic conditional independence. Conditional independence is widely considered also beyond the theory of probability, with linkages to, e.g. the database multi-valued dependencies, and at a higher abstraction level of semi-graphoid models. The rough set framework for data analysis is related to the topics of conditional independence via the notion of a decision reduct, to be considered within a wider domain of the feature selection. Given probabilistic version of decision reducts equivalent to the data-based Markov boundaries, the studies were also conducted for other criteria of the rough-set-based feature selection, e.g. those corresponding to the multi-valued dependencies. In this paper, we investigate the degrees of approximate conditional dependence, which could be a topic corresponding to the well-known notions such as conditional mutual information and polymatroid functions, however, with many practically useful approximate conditional independence models unmanageable within the information theoretic framework. The major paper’s contribution lays in extending the means for understanding the degrees of approximate conditional dependence, with appropriately generalized semi-graphoid properties formulated and with the mathematical soundness of the Bayesian network-like representation of the approximate conditional independence statements thoroughly proved. As an additional contribution, we provide a case study of the approximate conditional independence model, which would not be manageable without the above-mentioned extensions.  相似文献

This paper discusses a method for the analysis of dependable interactive systems using model checking, and its support by a tool designed to make it accessible to a broader community. The method and the tool are designed to be of value to system engineers, usability engineers and software engineers. It has been designed to help usability engineers by making those aspects of the analysis relevant to them explicit while concealing those aspects of modelling and model checking that are not relevant. The paper presents the results of a user evaluation of the effectiveness of aspects of the tool and how it supports the proposed method. Knowledge inference systems are built to identify hidden and logical patterns in huge data. Decision trees play a vital role in knowledge discovery but crisp decision tree algorithms have a problem with sharp decision boundaries which may not be implicated to all knowledge inference systems. A fuzzy decision tree algorithm overcomes this drawback. Fuzzy decision trees are implemented through fuzzification of the decision boundaries without disturbing the attribute values. Data reduction also plays a crucial role in many classification problems. In this research article, it presents an approach using principal component analysis and modified Gini index based fuzzy SLIQ decision tree algorithm. The PCA is used for dimensionality reduction, and modified Gini index fuzzy SLIQ decision tree algorithm to construct decision rules. Finally, through PID data set, the method is validated in the simulation experiment in MATLAB.  相似文献
