MOTIVATING THE IS PEOPLE OF THE FUTURE

What is the most critical personnel issue of the rest of this decade? To keep programmers, analysts, and developers motivated in their work so they will continue to be productive members of the IS staff. Managers can achieve this by giving proper feedback and by creating a clear career path for IS staff members to grow and contribute their talents to the organization.     

IPRA—ENHANCING THE SENSING ABILITIES OF AMBIENT INTELLIGENCE

The ability of ambient intelligence to serve a person could be considerably enhanced, if intelligent devices would take into account the person's current cognitive and affective state. One primary source for state information are physiological measures. However, obtaining state information requires concertedly employing a multitude of different techniques. To facilitate the use of physiological signals as sources of state information and thereby allow improving ambient intelligence, we developed Ipra , an integrated pattern recognition approach which (a) employs all techniques necessary to appropriately analyze physiological data, (b) is broadly applicable, and (c) is easy to use even for nonexperts. This approach together with results of its first application are presented in this contribution.

THE MINIMUM ENTROPY PRINCIPLE IS NOT THE PRINCIPLE OF MINIMUM CROSS-ENTROPY

In this current paper the following problems are addressed: (1) extending the knowledge of a partially known probability distribution function to any point of a continuous sample space, (2) constructing an imprecise probability distribution based on the knowledge of a set of credible or confidence intervals, and (3) computing the lower and upper expected values of a random continuous variable. An example is provided.

在磁盘驱动器中借助光伺服技术可以大幅度提高道密度我们的方法是；采用光刻工艺，在磁盘上记录高精度有磁，无磁伺服图形，通过磁头读取伺服信息。本文设计了用于刻写伺服图形的光记录系统。该系统可以完成６３５０ＴＰＩ磁盘的刻录。

时态信息系统转换方法的改进

利用Rough Set方法分析时间序列,已经取得了成果。时态信息系统(TIS)是时间序列的形式化表示。将时态信息系统转化为传统的信息系统(IS),是将Rough Set方法应用于时间序列挖掘的基础。目前,已有的将TLS转换为IS的方法,依赖于固定的时间间隔,具有一定的局限性。本文在已有算法的基础上,提出了两种改进方法,并结合Rough Set理论,使之适用于一般的时间序列的挖掘。     

Towards More Practical Linear Programming-based Techniques for Algorithmic Mechanism Design

R. Lavi and C. Swamy (FOCS 2005, J. ACM 58(6), 25, 2011) introduced a general method for obtaining truthful-in-expectation mechanisms from linear programming based approximation algorithms. Due to the use of the Ellipsoid method, a direct implementation of the method is unlikely to be efficient in practice. We propose to use the much simpler and usually faster multiplicative weights update method instead. The simplification comes at the cost of slightly weaker approximation and truthfulness guarantees.

An important part of the IS department's function is to provide timely, quality assistance to its users as well as its senior managers, who often need detailed information to make critical business decisions. In most organizations, however, the IS department is not positioned properly to perform this much-needed task. This article discusses three principles for rightsizing the IS department so it can properly manage its resources in support of the organization and its users.

本文在文献「３」的基础上，详细且深入讨论了构成候选关键字的属性特性，提出了相关关系，最大相关块等概念，讨论了有关定理，最后给出了求基数为Ｍ的候选关键字的多项式时间算法。

There are serious deficiencies in economic business and management theories concerning the cybernetics of socioeconomic systems and countries when these theories are to be implemented to accelerate change from a routinized society and economy to an innovative one such as is needed for example in todays transitional economies of Central and Eastern Europe CEE The Japanese experience with the total quality TQ concept of 1951 suggests that total quality is a potentially usable tool But the current practice of total quality management TQM reengineering and other contemporary management approaches demonstrates some deficiencies which demand that the concepts be refined Some ideas on how to make TQ M a more systemic and hence useful concept are suggested

适于水下船体的爬壁机器人关键技术及其研究进展

水下船体表面清刷和检测为爬壁机器人开辟了新的应用领域,其特点是机械本体稳定地吸附在水下船体表面上,同时能够灵活地完成移动、转向、越障等行走功能,进而完成针对船体表面的检测、清刷等作业。文中重点介绍了几种水下船体作业的爬壁爬行机器人,并对机器人的吸附和行走两个关键技术进行了分析,总结了水下船体作业机器人研究中的一些难点问题及其发展趋势。     

基于XML模型的支持多终端的MVC模式实现方式的研究

MVC是目前应用最广泛的一种设计模式。针对目前分散的、异构的数据环境,以及客户端类型的多样化,提出用XML虚拟数据库代替JavaBean／EJB来实现MVC模式的模型部分;同时,由终端识别模块识别终端类型,并通过XSLT处理器以统一的方式生成最适合终端类型显示的视图。     

关于一个串为正则语言中某串的子串的判定算法

本文给出一个判定∑上的任意串s是否为一正则语言L中某个串的子串的算法,即设s为∑上的任一串,L是∑上的任一正则语言,则s为L中某个串的子串,当且仅当s为集合V_n={w∈∑|w∈L,|w|≤2n+k-2}中某串的子串,其中k=|s|,n是某个自然数。
