Emerging distribution systems accommodate a large number of dynamic devices such as distributed energy resources, their controllers and other smart devices. Complex interactions among these dynamic devices may result in a number of instability issues. One of the important instability concerns is the small signal instability caused by oscillatory modes with lower values of frequency and damping ratios. In such cases, a suitable control methodology must be applied to ensure the stability of an emerging distribution system. In this paper, a robust control methodology for a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) is proposed for the enhancement of system stability. The impact of active and reactive power of the DFIG on a low damped mode is assessed. The effectiveness of the controller is tested in an IEEE 43 bus distribution system with distributed generation units. Results show that the proposed robust controller for the DFIG can support damping of critical modes.  相似文献

This paper identifies the impact of thermostat strategies on heating and cooling energy consumptions in buildings, thus suggesting the importance of a database for understanding the effect of thermostat settings and for deciding energy-conscious strategies.Using computer simulation, diverse thermostat strategies – change of setback period, change of set-point temperature, and change of setback temperature – were tested parametrically in a typical USA single-family homes, located in two climate zones, namely cold (Detroit, Michigan) and hot-humid (Miami, Florida).Analysis revealed that heating and cooling systems were significant energy-consuming components in each climate zone. Accordingly, heating energy in cold climate zones and cooling energy in hot-humid climate zones have potential for matchingly significant saving. Diverse thermostat strategies (changes of setback period, of set-point, of setback temperature) demonstrated their obvious impacts on such saving. In the cold climate in particular, the heating system showed the most significant energy-saving effect via proper thermostat strategies. Proper setback period, set-point and setback temperature need to be established to achieve energy efficiency in residential buildings.  相似文献

除了开/关控制,常规PID控制器是HVAC系统现场控制中应用最为广泛最基本的控制器,但对于非线性、时变的系统,常规的PID控制则很难达到满意的控制效果。本文提出了自适应模糊PID控制器模型,可以根据系统误差和误差变化率不断对PID控制器的输出进行在线调整。以某空调房间温度控制系统为研究对象,对自适应模糊PID控制器和常规PID控制器进行了对比。计算结果表明,自适应模糊PID控制器具有良好的动、静态性能,并且鲁棒性较强。  相似文献

While having the potential to significantly improve heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system performance, advanced (e.g., optimal, robust and various forms of adaptive) controllers have yet to be incorporated into commercial systems. Controllers consisting of distributed proportional-integral (PI) control loops continue to dominate commercial HVAC systems. Investigation into advanced HVAC controllers has largely been limited to proposals and simulations, with few controllers being tested on physical systems. While simulation can be insightful, the only true means for verifying the performance provided by HVAC controllers is by actually using them to control an HVAC system. The construction and modeling of an experimental system for testing advanced HVAC controllers, is the focus of this article.  相似文献

This paper describes an improved algorithm for generalised predictive control (GPC) and applies it to a floor radiant heating system in a full-scale outdoor test-room. The floor heating system is first identified by means of recursive least squares techniques associated with a set of supervision rules for robust system identification. The performance of the floor heating system controlled by GPC, on-off and PI controllers is then evaluated through computer simulations, using the identified models. Experimental results show that the room temperatures predicted with the identified models agree well with the measured data. Simulation results demonstrate that the behaviour of GPC is superior to the other two controllers in terms of response speed, minimum offset and on-off cycling frequency.  相似文献
