Microwave engineering often involves extensive circuit analysis and design, typically requiring precise calculations. To expedite the handling of complicated design calculations, a Web-based design tool named Microwave Engineering Solutions (MES) was developed as a graduate student project in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at North Dakota State University (NDSU), Fargo, and is described in this paper. JavaScript, PHP, and Perl were used to develop MES, which consists of three design tools: 1) FilTech*a design tool for analog filters, 2) LMatch*a design tool for impedance matching, and 3) MicroLines*a design tool for striplines and microwave network analysis. MES is used by Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) students studying various aspects of electromagnetics and is freely available on the Web via the link at http://venus.ece.ndsu.nodak.edu//spl sim/ronelson/MESLink/index.html. 相似文献

结合规则推理和实例推理推理模型,提出针对锅炉设计的模糊评估算法,经过模型与算法的结合,可有效实现锅炉的智能化设计。通过对设计过程的详细描述,给出了锅炉参数化设计中相关参数定义及要求,理论上论证了该模糊评估算法与推理模型结合的设计方案的可行性。该设计方案的提出和应用,为锅炉的智能化设计研究提供了一种较为合理可行的思路。结合现场锅炉设计案例,成功实现了锅炉的智能设计,证明了该方案在实际应用中的有效性和正确性。同时,结合实例还给出了每个设计过程中的一些必要的设计前提。结论揭示了该研究对于锅炉CAD智能化设计具有较大的参考价值。 相似文献

The gate-driven effect and substrate-triggered effect on electrostatic discharge (ESD) robustness of CMOS devices are measured and compared in this paper. The operation principles of gate-grounded design, gate-driven design, and substrate-triggered design on CMOS devices for ESD protection are explained clearly by energy-band diagrams. The relations between ESD robustness and the devices with different triggered methods are also explained by transmission line pulsing (TLP) measured results and energy-band diagrams. The turn-on mechanisms of nMOS devices with triggered methods are further verified using the emission microscope (EMMI) photographs of the nMOS devices under current stress. The experimental results confirm that the substrate-triggered design can effectively and continually improve ESD robustness of CMOS devices better than the gate-driven design. The human body model (HBM) ESD level of nMOS with a W/L of 400 μm/0.8 μm in a silicided CMOS process can be improved from the original 3.5 kV to over 8 kV by using the substrate-triggered design. We propose a novel conceptual structure of a large‐scale wave energy converter (WEC) and develop an electrical design method for tubular permanent magnet linear generators (PM‐LGs) adopted in the WEC. We describe the electrical design method of the PM‐LGs in detail, with design results of 1 MW PM‐LGs presented. Magnetic flux distribution obtained by the simulation is further analyzed, which shows good agreement with the design results. The electrical design method of large‐scale PM‐LGs described in this paper provides a reference to design large‐scale electric machines. 相似文献

This article provides an overview of senior design in the United States and its impact around the world. Within the United States, the National Science Foundation (NSF) Senior Design Projects to Aid Persons with Disabilities program has provided funding since 1988 to thousands of senior design projects that have been completed by students for persons with disabilities. This program combines the academic requirement of a design experience with enhanced educational opportunities for students, and it improves the quality of life for disabled individuals. Also described are two national design competitions hosted by the Rehabilitation Research's Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (RERC) on Accessible Medical Instrumentation (AMI) and the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA). In addition, there are a number of biomedical engineering (BMH) programs in the United States that provide an opportunity for students to design and construct projects for individuals in developing countries. 相似文献

This paper presents a design approach of a direct-drive permanent-magnet (PM) motor for a medium-sized injection-molding application. In the proposed approach, genetic-algorithm (GA) loop works to optimize the lamination design in order to meet the requirements for the target application. To achieve the design optimization within a realistic time scale, the repeated calculation required to obtain fitness evaluation does not use finite-element analysis (FEA) but consists of a geometric flux-tube-based nonlinear magnetic analysis developed specifically for this class of motors. The validity of the proposed design approach is verified through several comparative studies on the design results with FEA using a 942- 88.8-kW three-phase multipole interior PM motor, which is designed by the proposed optimizing GA approach. 相似文献

The increasing operating frequencies and decreasing IC feature size call for 3‐D electromagnetic (EM) methods, such as the Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) method, as necessary tools for the analysis and design of high‐speed systems. Very large systems of equations are often generated by 3‐D EM methods and model order reduction (MOR) techniques are commonly used to reduce such a high model complexity. A typical design process includes optimization and design space exploration, and hence requires multiple simulations for different design parameter values. Traditional MOR techniques perform model reduction only with respect to frequency and such design activities call for parameterized MOR (PMOR) methods that can reduce large systems of equations with respect to frequency and other design parameters of the circuit, such as geometrical layout or substrate characteristics. We present a novel PMOR technique applicable to the PEEC method that provides parametric reduced order models, stable and passive by construction, over a user defined design space. We treat the construction of parametric reduced order models on scattered design space grids. Pertinent numerical examples validate the proposed approach. 超导电机技术为减小大型直驱风力发电机体积、质量和成本提供了一种有效途径。提出了一种海上超导直驱风力发电机系统,其定子采用低温超导线圈产生励磁磁场,转子为常规的铜制电枢绕组。首先介绍了该电机的主要参数以及拓扑结构的选择,并分析了超导电机电磁设计过程中所需考虑的关键问题;之后介绍了超导电机的定转子设计方案,包括电磁设计、机械结构、转子风冷系统、超导定子的低温系统以及制冷系统等;最后估算了所设计超导电机的质量以及成本,并与相同功率等级的永磁直驱风力发电机进行了对比,结果表明所设计的超导电机的质量比永磁直驱风力发电机质量减轻约46%,而其初始材料成本仅为永磁直驱电机的71%。 相似文献
