We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel configuration of a multiwavelength tunable fiber ring laser with equally increased or decreased wavelength spacing. Wavelength tuning is achieved by tuning the strain gradient of a sampled chirp fiber Bragg grating (SCFBG), which is integrated in the laser cavity. To achieve equally increased or decreased wavelength spacing, the SCFBG is surface-mounted at a slant onto one lateral side of a plate so that each wavelength-selective element of the SCFBG will experience an equal strain increment when an external force is applied to the plate. We experimentally obtain seven lasing wavelengths with equally increased or decreased wavelength spacing.  相似文献

We demonstrate a mode-locked, multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber laser at 2.5 GHz with 25-GHz channel spacing and that is wavelength tunable from 1545 to 1558 nm. Stable, room-temperature operation is obtained by exploiting four-wave mixing in a length of highly nonlinear fiber. At a central wavelength of 1549.5 nm, we obtain 30 wavelengths within 3 dB and 46 wavelengths within 6 dB; the full-width at half-maximum of the envelope is 85 ps.  相似文献

A new tunable multiwavelength fiber laser is proposed. Such a laser contains a homogeneous and inhomogeneous broadening media, i.e., a Fabry–Perót laser diode and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier, in the laser cavity. The Fabry–Perót laser diode is used to obtain tunable multiwavelength lasing. By adjusting the injection current of the Fabry–Perót laser diode, emission at a single wavelength, dual wavelengths, triple wavelengths or quadruple wavelengths are obtained. The lasing wavelength is tuned by bending a section of fiber in the laser cavity. The tuning ranges for single wavelength lasing and dual wavelength lasing are 20 nm and 10 nm, respectively, while those for triple wavelength lasing and quadruple wavelength lasing are 7 nm and 3 nm, respectively.  相似文献

() ()基金项目: 。摘要:为了实现高稳定性的可调谐激光输出,提出并设计了一种基于Mach-Zehnder(M-Z)滤波结构,结合Fabry-Perot(F-P)滤波器的可调谐掺铒光纤激光器,并对激光器的原理及实现方案进行理论分析和实验验证。所设计激光器系统的泵浦源工作波长为976 nm;长度5 m的掺铒光纤作为增益介质;采用全光纤M-Z结构进行滤波,并结合F-P滤波器实现单波长激光可调谐输出。实验中,通过调节F-P滤波器,在泵浦功率为60 mW时,实现了1547~1568 nm范围内单波长激光的稳定可调谐输出,波长调谐间隔小于1.7 nm,每个输出波长的边模抑制比均大于55 dB,线宽均小于0.1 nm。  相似文献

Simultaneous continuous-wave multiwavelength operation of a Raman fiber laser is demonstrated with sampled Bragg grating (SBG) at room temperature. The characteristics of multiwavelength fiber ring laser can be easily controlled by adjusting the parameters of the SBG, including the sampling period and the sampling length. In the proposed fiber laser, stable four oscillating wavelengths with 100- and 50-GHz spacing has been achieved, respectively, as well as five oscillating ones with a wavelength spacing of only 25 GHz by varying the sampling period of the SBG.  相似文献

提出一种稳定的波长间隔可调谐的双波长单纵模环形光纤激光器。在复合环形谐振腔中,采用由数字微镜装置(DMD)滤波器和两个不同长度的次级环形谐振腔组成的多重滤波的方式来选择激光器的工作模式。其中,DMD滤波器可以从掺铒光纤的自发增益谱中任意选择两个波长并将它们耦合进光路中;次级环形谐振腔作为模式滤波器,可以保证激光器输出单纵模激射;利用非线性光子晶体光纤(HN-PCF)的四波混频(FWM)效应,使激光器输出均衡平稳的双波长激射。在室温条件下,不用移动实验装置中的任何器件,通过将位置不同的光栅映射在DMD滤波器上来实现双波长间隔可调谐,调谐范围为0.165nm到1.08nm,调谐步长为0.055nm。  相似文献

为了实现多波长激光输出,提出了一种改进的多波长主动锁模光纤环形激光器,采用集成级联采样光纤光栅进入激光腔形成稳定的多种波长激光的方法,进行了理论分析和实验验证。结果表明,双环形腔结构对于所有波长激光,其腔长度是一致的,从而可以用相同的锁模信号实现所有波长的同步锁模。实验中光纤环形激光器成功实现了以1.6nm为间隔的波长多达14个;它的输出功率大于0dBm,边模抑制比约30dB,最高模式锁模频率为1.05GHz,输出脉冲序列的脉宽是216ps。这一结果对光纤传输系统设计是有帮助的。  相似文献

A multisegment all-PM fiber ring laser is constructed to demonstrate a tunable dual-wavelength laser source with continuous tuning in absolute wavelength and discrete tuning in wavelength spacing. The tuning method is based on birefringence filtering properties of a segmented all-PM fiber ring resonator. Using this method, we show a discrete wavelength spacing of dual-wavelength output from 0.9 to 2.5 nm, and continuous wavelength tuning over a few nanometers. A single-/dual-wavelength switchable and tunable erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) with super-narrow linewidth has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated at room temperature. The fiber laser is based on a compound cavity simply composed of a ring main cavity and a two-ring subring cavity (TR-SC). Regardless of single- or dual-wavelength operation, the EDFL could always work well in single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) state at every oscillating wavelength. In dual-wavelength operation, the spacing could be tuned from 0 nm to 4.83 nm. In single-wavelength operation, the EDFL could lase at a fixed wavelength of 1 543.65 nm or another wavelength with a tunable range of 4.83 nm. The super-narrow linewidths of 550 Hz and 600 Hz for two wavelengths are obtained. The proposed EDFL has potential applications in microwave/terahertz-wave generation and high-precision distributed fiber optical sensing.  相似文献

An active multiwavelength mode-locked fiber ring laser is demonstrated by exploiting cross-gain modulation in a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier. A length of dispersion-compensation fiber is incorporated in the ring cavity to enhance the multiwavelength performance. Simultaneous tunable triple-wavelength mode-locking is implemented with the pulse repetition of 10 GHz and wavelength spacing of 1.12 nm. The results provide an effective approach to fulfill all-optical clock recovery and data pattern conversion in multiwavelength for future optical communication systems.  相似文献

设计了一种结构简单的波长间隔双倍布里渊频移的可调谐多波长布里渊/铒光纤激光器。利用一个3 dB耦合器形成复合环形腔结构,使奇数阶斯托克斯信号被局限在一个腔内循环,仅有初始布里渊抽运信号和偶数阶的斯托克斯信号能够耦合输出,实现了波长间隔双倍布里渊频移的多波长输出。分析了不同布里渊抽运功率、不同980 nm抽运功率下激光器的输出特性。在布里渊抽运信号功率10 dBm,980 nm抽运功率110 mW的情况下,激光器在1555~1565 nm范围内获得了波长间隔0.176 nm的6个波长输出。  相似文献

In this paper, we report a simple method for the production of an all-fiber, tunable and wavelength switchable erbium-doped fiber ring laser (EDFRL). We use the shift in resonance wavelength and notch-depth of arc-induced long-period fiber gratings (LPFGs) when it is subject to controlled bend to suppress some wavelength gain and promote lasing in a selective way in a fiber laser system. By changing the bending radius, the operating wavelength of the EDFRL can be tuned from 1526 to 1538 nm and then switched and tuned from 1568 to 1557 nm. The maximum separation measured between laser lines was ~42 nm. This is one of the highest laser separations reported in a wavelength switching operation of an EDFL using a single LPFG as wavelength selective filter.  相似文献

A novel room-temperature multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber (EDF) laser is demonstrated. Stable multiwavelength lasing at room temperature is realized by incorporating a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA)-based phase modulator in the laser cavity. The SOA is biased below the transparent point with a sinusoidal signal applied to achieve phase modulation, to suppress the homogenous line broadening of the EDF. Stable multiwavelength lasing with wavelengths up to 26 and wavelength spacing as small as 0.19 nm is demonstrated at room temperature.  相似文献

A simple design of a stable multiwavelength pulse generator was demonstrated using a dispersion-tuned actively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber (EDF) ring laser with distributed dispersion cavity. The distributed dispersion cavity in the fiber laser successfully reduced the cross-gain saturation in EDF, and thus, enabled multiwavelength operation. Simultaneous generation of wavelength-tunable 10-GHz pulses up to four different wavelengths was achieved with the same wavelength space of 2.94 nm. The extinction ratio of all wavelengths was above 30 dB. In addition, smooth wavelength tuning was achieved over more than 41 nm when the laser was working at dual-wavelength mode. The super mode noise was /spl sim/60 dB below the signal level at both wavelengths. The laser state was found to be very stable.  相似文献

对多波长掺铒光纤激光器进行了实验研究。通过在环形腔掺铒光纤激光器中引入一个全光纤相位调制器,在双折射光纤长度约为4.1m时,实现了室温下16个波长的稳定输出,波长间隔为0.8nm,满足ITU信道标准。而且通过改变双折射光纤的长度,可实现相邻时长间隔的精确调节。激射波长线宽小于0.1nm。功率谱比较平坦,在近12nm的谱宽内功率起伏小于dB。  相似文献

本文利用国产半导体激光器泵浦掺Yb3+光纤环形激光器获得成功.掺Yb3+光纤长3 m,与1053 nm/980 nm波分复用器(WDM)构成交叉耦合型全光纤环形腔.总腔长为4 m,泵浦波长980 nm,激光波长为1042.3 nm,斜率效率9.6%,激光阈值低于0.5 mW,利用可调谐钛宝石激光器泵浦,得到该光纤激光器的最佳泵浦波长为978 nm.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate a flexibly switchable multiwavelength fiber laser with multiple functionalities like a wide tuning range of lasing wavelength, wavelength spacing, and the number of channels simultaneously. The lasing wavelength is controlled in the range from 1510 to 1620 nm based on the effect of nonlinear gain compression of a semiconductor optical amplifier incorporated with an erbium-doped fiber amplifier. The wavelength spacing and the number of channels in the multiwavelength fiber laser are readily controlled by the effective length of polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF) segments in the intracavity PMF Lyot-Sagnac filter.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a novel room-temperature multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) with a 0.8-nm wavelength spacing based on four-wave mixing (FWM) in a length of high-nonlinear photonic crystal fiber and sampled-fiber Bragg grating. The FWM processes suppress the wavelength competition of the EDFL and increase the number of lasing wavelength. By adjusting the FWM efficiency, the number of the concurrent lasing wavelengths can be changed, and the peak power differences among the main oscillation wavelengths are less than 2.0 dB.  相似文献

A tunable self-seeded multi-wavelength Brillouin-erbium fiber laser (BEFL) is proposed and demonstrated based on a few-mode fiber filter (FMFF) with varying temperature. The FMFF configuration is a section of uncoated few-mode fiber (FMF) sandwiched between two up-tapers. As the temperature varies from 25 °C to 125 °C, the transmission spectrum of FMFF moves towards the longer wavelength. The self-excited Brillouin pump is internally achieved by cascaded stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in the single mode fiber (SMF). Then employing the FMFF temperature variation characteristics in the ring cavity fiber laser, the multi-wavelength of the output laser can be tuned, and the tunable range is about 8.0 nm. The generation of up to 15 Brillouin Stokes wavelengths with 16 dB optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) is realized.  相似文献

室温稳定的多波长光纤激光器( MWFL)中最关键的技术是如何有效抑制掺杂光纤的均匀展宽效应。综述了国际上近年来提出的实现室温稳定多波长光纤激射的主要技术。介绍了近几年我们在该领域的一些创新性研究工作:提出了多种基于多谐振峰的光纤布拉格光栅(FBG) ,如多模光纤布拉格光栅、保偏光纤布拉格光栅、取样光纤布拉格光栅等的可开关多波长光纤激光器的新方法和新结构,实现了多种波长间隔小于2 nm,室温工作稳定性好、波长及波长间隔可调的可开关多波长光纤激光器;提出了基于非线性光纤环镜( NOLM)和非线性偏振旋转(NPR)效应的两种多波长掺铒光纤激光器(EDFL)实现技术,实现了室温稳定、功率谱分布平坦的宽带多波长激光输出,3 dB带宽内的波长个数可达50个,每个波长的功率波动在2 h内小于0 .1 dB。  相似文献
