An asymptotic approach is proposed to investigate nonlinear parametric vibration of axially accelerating viscoelastic strings. The string is constituted by the Kelvin model with the material time derivative. Both the Mote model and the Kirchhoff model of transverse motion are analyzed via the asymptotic approach in principal parametric resonance. The modulation equation is derived from the solvability condition. Closed-form expressions of the amplitudes and the existence conditions of steady-state responses are solved from the modulation equation. Numerical results are presented to highlight the effects the initial stress, the parameters in the Kelvin model, and the axial speed fluctuation amplitude on the amplitudes and the existence conditions of steady-state responses.  相似文献

Summary.  The steady-state transverse vibration of a parametrically excited axially moving string with geometric nonlinearity is investigated in this paper. The Boltzmann superposition principle is employed to characterize the material property of the string. The method of multiple scales is applied directly to the governing equation, which is a nonlinear partial-differential-integral equation. The solvability condition of eliminating the secular terms is established. Closed form solutions for the amplitude and the existence conditions of nontrivial steady-state response of the summation resonance are obtained. Some numerical examples showing effects of the viscoelastic parameter, the amplitude of excitation, the frequency of excitation, and the transport speed are presented. 研究非齐次边界条件和1∶3内共振下面内平动黏弹性板的横向非线性1∶2主参数振动的稳态响应。考虑黏弹性对边界条件的影响,建立了面内平动板的偏微分运动方程和相应的非齐次边界条件。采用直接多尺度法建立了次谐波参数共振时的可解性条件,并根据Routh-Hurvitz判据判别了系统幅频响应的稳定性。讨论了速度扰动幅值和黏弹性系数对幅频响应的影响,对比了齐次和非齐次边界条件下稳态响应的差异。最后,引入微分求积法验证直接多尺度法的近似解析结果。  相似文献

Two-to-one parametric resonance in transverse vibration of an axially accelerating viscoelastic string with geometric nonlinearity is investigated. The transport speed is assumed to be a constant mean speed with small harmonic variations. The nonlinear partial differential equation that governs transverse vibration of the string is derived from Newton's second law. The method of multiple scales is applied directly to the equation, and the solvability condition of eliminating secular terms is established. Closed-form solutions for the amplitude of the vibration and the existence conditions of nontrivial steady-state response in two-to-one parametric resonance are obtained. Some numerical examples showing effects of the mean transport speed, the amplitude and the frequency of speed variation are presented. Lyapunov's linearized stability theory is employed to analyze the stability of the trivial and nontrivial solutions for two-to-one parametric resonance. Some numerical examples highlighting the effects of the related parameters on the stability conditions are presented.  相似文献

采用Poincaré映射和分岔图分析轴向运动黏弹性弦线横向振动的非线性动力学行为。考虑由积分型本构关系描述的黏弹性弦线,并计及微小但有限的变形导致的几何非线性,建立了系统的控制方程。应用Galerkin方法将系统控制方程截断,并通过引入辅助变量将截断后的方程转化为便于数值积分的形式。计算了弦线中点Poincaré映射对轴向张力涨落幅值、轴向运动速度、黏弹性系数和黏弹性指数的分岔图。  相似文献

In this study asphalt-aggregate mixes are treated as both viscoelastic and viscoplastic. Following a damage mechanics approach, a nonlinear viscoelastic constitutive formulation is generated from a linear formulation by replacing ‘applied stresses’ with ‘effective viscoelastic stresses’. A non-dimensional scalar entity called ‘relative viscoelastic stiffness’ is introduced; it is defined as the ratio of applied to effective viscoelastic stress and encapsulates different types of nonlinearities. The paper proposes a computational scheme for exposing these nonlinearities by uncovering, through direct analysis of any test data, changes experienced by the ‘relative viscoelastic stiffness’. In general terms, the method is based on simultaneous application of creep and relaxation formulations while preserving the interrelationship between the corresponding time functions. The proposed scheme is demonstrated by analyzing a uniaxial tension test and a uniaxial compression test (separately). Results are presented and discussed, unveiling and contrasting the character of viscoelastic nonlinearities in both cases. A conceptual viewpoint is offered to explain the observations, illustrating the requirements from any candidate constitutive theory.  相似文献

A new analytical approach for’ micromechanical modeling of the effective viscoelastic behavior of a’ composite material is presented. Fractionexponential operators are. used to describe the viscoelastic properties of the constituents. To construct the corresponding elastic solution, effective field method is used. Effective viscoelastic operators are obtained from the Volter ra’s elasticity-viscoelasticity correspondence principle. Incompatible deformation that often occurs during the manufacturiig process is taken intp account. All the formulas are obtained in explicit ready-to-use form.  相似文献

This paper analytically and numerically investigates the nonlinear vibration in parametric and internal resonances of in-plane accelerating viscoelastic plates subjected to plane stresses. An approximate nonlinear plate theory was developed under the Kirchoff assumptions. The in-plane translating speed is characterized as a simple harmonic variation about the constant mean axial speed. The governing equation with the associated boundary conditions is derived from the generalized Hamilton principle and the Kelvin constitutive relation. The method of multiple scales is applied to establish the solvability conditions in principal parametric and internal resonances. The steady-state responses are predicted in three possible patterns: trivial, single-mode, and two-mode solutions. The stabilities of the steady-state responses are determined based on the Routh-Hurwitz criterion. The effects of the mean in-plane translating speed, the in-plane translating speed fluctuation amplitude, the viscosity coefficient, and the nonlinear coefficient on the steady-state responses are examined. The differential quadrature schemes are developed for the two-dimensional full plate model and the one-dimensional reduced plate model to solve the nonlinear governing equations numerically. The numerical calculations confirm the approximate analytical results regarding the trivial and single-mode solutions of the steady-state responses.  相似文献

This paper presents a homogenised finite element formulation for the transient dynamic analysis of asymmetric and symmetric unconstrained layer damping beams in which the viscoelastic material is characterised by a five-parameter fractional derivative model. This formulation is based on the weighted residual method (Galerkin’s approach) providing a fractional matrix equation of motion. The application of Grünwald-Letnikov’s definition of the fractional derivatives allows to solve numerically the fractional equation by means of two different implicit formulations. Numerical examples for a cantilever beam with viscoelastic treatment are presented comparing the response provided by the proposed homogenised formulation with that of Padovan, based on the principle of virtual work. Different damping levels and load cases are analysed, as well as the influence of the truncation and time-step. From the numerical applications it can be concluded that the presented formulation allows to reduce significantly the degrees of freedom and consequently the computational time and storage needs for the transient dynamic analysis of structural systems in which damping treatments have been applied by means of viscoelastic materials characterised by fractional derivative models.  相似文献

The paper proposes a modified formalism of continuum damage mechanics in order to describe plastic compressibility in the context of ductile damage. The model uses two damage state variables, one of them playing role of porosity in micromechanics based approaches like Gurson’s model. Various versions of the model are determined and compared with Gurson’s model, in terms of the constitutive responses for various loading conditions, as well as for simple structural examples like a free and a clamped plate under plane strain, and an axisymmetric notched bar under tension. The classical CDM is also applied and some advantages of the proposed approach are underlined.  相似文献

In the present work, the nonlinear response of a vertically moving viscoelastic beam subjected to a periodically varying contact load is investigated. The generalized Galerkin??s method is used to discretize the nonlinear partial differential equation of motion into the temporal equation of motion. The temporal equation of motion contains many nonlinear terms such as cubic geometric and inertial nonlinear terms, nonlinear damping term, and nonlinear parametric excitation terms in addition to forced excitation and parametric excitation terms. The first-order approximate solutions are obtained by using the method of multiple scales, and the stability and bifurcations of the obtained steady-state responses are studied. Extensive numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the influences of various types of system parameters for different resonance conditions. A significant amount of vibration reduction is obtained with the increase in the material loss factor. The results obtained by numerically solving the temporal equation of motion are found to be in good agreement with the results determined by the method of multiple scales. The obtained results are useful for reduction in the vibration of the viscoelastic flexible beam with prismatic joint or single-link viscoelastic Cartesian manipulator with payload subjected to a sinusoidally varying contact load.  相似文献

Two alternative approaches for estimating linear viscoelastic material functions from a single experiment under random excitation are derived and analyzed. First, Boltzmann’s superposition integral is discretized into a system of linear equations. Due to the ill-posedness of the resulting matrix equation, Tikhonov’s regularization is introduced. Second, the integral is transformed into a recursive formula, using a Prony series representation of viscoelastic material functions, in which gradient-based optimization is applied. Numerical results are provided to compare and verify the applicability of the presented numerical procedures.  相似文献

In this paper, the nonlinear transversal vibration of an axially moving viscoelastic string on a viscoelastic guide subjected to a mono-frequency excitation is considered. The model of the viscoelastic guide is a parallel combination of springs and viscous dampers. The governing equation of motion is developed using Hamilton’s principle. Applying the method of multiple scales to the governing partial differential equation, the solvability condition and approximate solutions are derived. Three cases, namely primary, subharmonic and superharmonic resonances are studied and appropriate analytical solutions are obtained. The effect of mean value velocity, force amplitude, guide stiffness and viscosity coefficient of the string on the frequency-response and bifurcation points is investigated. Findings are in good agreement with results extracted from numerical modeling.  相似文献

New methods of coupled mathematical modeling of steady-state creep rate and creep rupture strength of metals in tension have been devised. Two nonlinear fractional power functions with four material constants are used as basic dependences of the steady-state creep and creep rupture life on stress. Computation of the functions is based on optimally solving two nonlinear and inconsistent — in the conventional meaning — equations sets by the method of minimization of quadratic residuals. The authors outline the methods for calculating material constants, which were used to derive analytical expressions that optimally approximate the test results for 10Kh15N27T3MR steel at 600°C under various stresses. A method of piecewise-linear approximation of creep rupture strength test results, which involves the use of a two-segment broken line, is put forward. It implies that the locations of kinks as well as other numerical characteristics of the broken line are determined from the condition of the line’s optimal arrangement relative to the experimental data points. A new experimental technique has been developed for the determination of wood viscoelastic compliance in tension. It associates tensile creep tests parallel to, and off the material symmetry axes with a strain measurement system using a rosette gauge. Particular attention has been paid to accurate strain measurement, and to hydrothermal and mechanical disturbance factors. Application is restricted to the determination of the four compliances which characterize the viscoelastic behaviour of spruce in the LR (radial) plane, at 21°C and 12% equilibrium moisture content. The time-dependent strain induced by load level up to 58% of the ultimate strength, and applied during 4 to 10 days, is largely recoverable. As proposed by Schniewind and Barrett, the compliances are represented by time power functions. The experimental results support earlier observations that the creep level is much higher in tension in the radial direction than parallel to the grain, and that the creep level in shear over the LR plane is an intermediate between the above two cases. Finally, the experimental results illustrate the validity of the superposition principle under the test conditions examined, which is the basis of the linear viscoelastic model introduced here.
Resume On présente une méthode d’essais originale pour la détermination des complaisances viscoélastiques du bois sans défaut en traction. Elle combine des essais de fluage en traction d’éprouvettes taillées suivant les axes d’anisotropie et taillées avec un angle de désorientation (essais ‘hors axes’). Le mesurage des déformations est effectué par des jauges d’extensométrie (rosettes). Préalablement aux essais, il a été réalisé une réflexion méthodologique portant sur les essais de traction sur bois sans défaut et une analyse expérimentale de la stabilité au cours du temps des systèmes de mesurage (jauge/colle). Ce dernier point, lié aux effets mécaonosorptifs, nous a permis de préconiser l’utilisation des jauges KFC en association avec celle de la colle époxy.

This study presents the characterization of the nonlinearly viscoelastic behavior of hot mix asphalt (HMA) at different temperatures and strain levels using Schapery’s model. A recursive-iterative numerical algorithm is generated for the nonlinearly viscoelastic response and implemented in a displacement-based finite element (FE) code. Then, this model is employed to describe experimental frequency sweep measurements of two asphalt mixes with fine and coarse gradations under several combined temperatures and shear strain levels. The frequency sweep measurements are converted to creep responses in the time domain using a phenomenological model (Prony series). The master curve is created for each strain level using the time temperature superposition principle (TTSP) with a reference temperature of 40°C. The linear time-dependent parameters of the Prony series are first determined by fitting a master curve created at the lowest strain level, which in this case is 0.01%. The measurements at strain levels higher than 0.01% are analyzed and used to determine the nonlinear parameters. These parameters are shown to increase with increasing strain levels, while the time–temperature shift function is found to be independent of strain levels. The FE model with the calibrated time-dependent and nonlinear material parameters is used to simulate the creep experimental tests, and reasonable predictions are shown.  相似文献

Based on the generalized Maxwell-model, a viscoelastic material approach for steady-state rolling structures has been developed. Unlike a transient finite element formulation the final state is attained in a few load increments and just one time step. The consistent linearization of the steady-state viscoelastic constitutive formulation leads to additional coupling matrices so that the number of non-zero entries in the global stiffness matrix is increased. The steady-state formulation of the viscoelastic material approach as well as the transient formulation allow the addition of so-called Prandtl-elements to consider elastoplastic effects, too. Numerical results confirm the robustness, reliability and capability of the steady-state viscoelastic material formulation.  相似文献

Morphology and viscoelastic behaviour during the initial stages of crystallisation of isotactic polypropylene were explored as a function of time and angular frequency by light microscopy and dynamic oscillatory rheology. Results were evaluated according to the Krieger-Dougherty and Palierne models for viscoelastic suspensions of spheres. The data obtained from light microscopy were introduced in the rheological models reproducing quite well the viscoelastic response during crystallisation. The Palierne model was able to describe the behaviour of the system, though it was not possible to observe all the model’s features due to a limited angular frequency range. Further, at high filler contents, an ‘equilibrium’ modulus needs to be introduced for the model to fit the experimental data. The exponent required to model the changes occurring in the ‘equilibrium’ modulus over time resembles that of chemical gelation more than physical gelation.  相似文献
