Epoxy film adhesives are of prime importance for the fabrication of lightweight honeycomb structures for aerospace industries. This work involves the synthesis of oxazolidinone modified epoxy novolac resin (EPN-OXA) via the reaction of EPN and toluene diisocyanate. EPN-OXA was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography, and epoxy equivalent weight. EPN-OXA was blended with solid epoxy resin, polyethersulfone (PES) toughened liquid epoxy resin, dicyandiamide, and aluminum powder to fabricate a film adhesive curing at 170–180 °C. Effect of additives and curative on the adhesive property was studied to optimize the composition. Effect of PES on the optimized composition was studied in detail. The best composition exhibited lap shear strength of 370 ± 10 kgf cm−2 at 25 °C and the strength was retained to 75% at −196 °C and 52% at 120 °C. PES significantly enhanced the interfacial strength at different temperatures (~1.6-fold at −196 and 25 °C and ~1.8-fold at 120 °C). It also improved tensile strength and fracture toughness by 1.4- and 2-fold, respectively. The toughening effect of PES was further confirmed by scanning electron microscopy images. A structural adhesive from I.C.R., X07 Extreme®, was fully characterised through tensile test, static and dynamic lap-shear strength test, cleavage peel test and DSC. Lap-shear tests were performed by using either aluminium, stainless steel and glass fibre reinforced polymer as substrate and after aging the specimen under extreme environmental conditions. The performance of this novel adhesive was compared to that of a structural adhesive of a competitor. The work summarises the typical procedures intended for the qualification of a structural adhesive for marine joints. 相似文献

Adhesives that are stable in Li‐ion battery electrolytes are required to realize the potential of new battery designs that integrate structural elements with energy storage. Here, several polymers, commercial adhesives, and sealants were investigated to bond and seal a Li‐ion battery sandwich panel. Gravimetric electrolyte uptake measurements were compared with Hansen solubility parameters to predict long‐term durability of the materials exposed to battery electrolyte. The durability of adhesively bonded joints with an epoxy adhesive, which was selected as the lowest electrolyte uptake material, was examined using single lap shear strength tests and three‐point bending tests in a fabricated sandwich panel. The strength of the epoxy decreased after exposure to battery electrolyte due to solvent uptake in the bond. The addition of lithium hexafluorophosphate to the ethylene carbonate/dimethyl carbonate mixture severely decreased the strength with respect to the pure solvents. In device testing, the sandwich panel did not show any visible damage or leakage when loaded to above 1000 N during three‐point bending tests. Using sol extraction measurements and differential scanning calorimetry analyses, the optimized curing temperature for the epoxy adhesive ranged from 80 to 100 °C. The development of a one-component epoxy adhesive for cell phone board repair was described. The most important goal of this study is to obtain long storage stability in conjunction with the curing reaction process at a relatively low temperature of 95 °C. Bisphenol-A type, bisphenol-F type, and NBR-based epoxy resins were used as the basic resins. Dicyandiamide (DICY) was used as a curing agent, and 2-methylimidazole (2MI) was used as an accelerator. 2MI was encapsulated using a copolymer of methacrylic acid and dodecyl methacrylate to achieve latent curing performance. After mixing the epoxy resin with DICY and encapsulated 2MI, this curing system showed excellent storage stability with almost no viscosity increase for 2 months at 20 °C, and full curing was achieved at 95 °C for 50 min. We determined the optimum formulation of the epoxy adhesive for adhesion of a cell phone board after the measurement of physical properties. 相似文献

采用机械共混法和胶料成膜技术制备出一种酚醛树脂(PF)-橡胶型膜状胶粘剂(胶膜)。结果表明:当n(37%甲醛)∶n(苯酚)∶n(氢氧化钠)=1.8∶1∶0.1、反应温度为70℃和反应时间为2.5 h时,合成的甲阶PF具有较高的羟甲基含量(28.3%),满足PF-橡胶型胶膜的制备要求;当m(氯丁橡胶)∶m(氯化天然橡胶)∶m(PF)∶m(炭黑)=100∶(5~10)∶(70~80)∶40、m(PF)∶m(硼酚醛树脂)=4∶1时,胶膜的剪切强度超过5.0 MPa、180°剥离强度超过4.0 kN/m且胶接件的破坏形式多为橡胶内聚破坏;该胶膜具有较好的热稳定性(热失重温度为300℃左右),满足氯化橡胶生胶片与金属之间的热硫化胶接要求;该胶膜与适宜底胶配合而成的双涂型胶接体系,可实现氯化橡胶生胶片与树脂基复合材料之间的热硫化胶接。 相似文献

以环氧树脂(EP)和二乙烯三胺基甘油正丁基醚(593)固化剂为基体,以自制底胶和预处理过的石英粉为填料,制取室温固化双组分EP结构胶。研究了不同配方、粘接工艺对EP结构胶粘接性能的影响。实验结果表明,该EP结构胶在室温条件下具有优异的粘接性能,用于粘接45#钢/钢时,其室温拉伸剪切强度为27.4MPa;该EP结构胶浇铸体的拉伸强度为44.6MPa,拉伸模量为6.82GPa;一种新的自制底胶和经KH-560偶联剂处理过的石英粉填料是拉伸剪切强度显著提高的关键因素。 相似文献
