In this study, glycidyl methacrylate was copolymerized with poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate to obtain a copolymer {poly[glycidyl methacrylate–poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate] [P(GMA–PEGMA)]}, which was crosslinked with α,ω‐diamino poly(propylene oxide) (Jeffamine) at various weight ratios and molecular weights to form novel gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs). The crosslinked copolymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermal analysis. The crosslinked polymers were amorphous in the pristine state and became crystallized after they were doped with lithium electrolyte. Furthermore, the crosslinking degree of the crosslinked polymers increased with increasing weight ratio of Jeffamine, and both the swelling properties and mechanical behaviors of the crosslinked polymers were heavily affected by the weight ratio and molecular weight of Jeffamine. The ionic conductivity (σ) of the GPEs from the crosslinked copolymers was determined by alternating‐current impedance spectroscopy. A higher molecular weight and increased weight ratio of Jeffamine resulted in a higher σ. The GPE based on P(GMA–PEGMA) crosslinked with an equal weight of Jeffamine D2000 exhibited the highest σ of 8.29 × 10−4 S/cm at 25°C and had a moderate mechanical strength. These crosslinked copolymers could be potential candidates for the construction of rechargeable lithium batteries. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2011  相似文献

In this work, melt processable poly(acrylonitrile‐co‐methyl acrylate) [(P(AN‐MA)] was hydrolyzed first and then formed into microporous membrane via thermally induced phase separation. In order to optimize the hydrolysis condition and fabricate hydrophilic PAN‐based membranes, a series of hydrolysis experiments were performed to indicate the influence of hydrolysis temperature, alkaline species and time. The structure and properties of hydrolyzed P(AN‐MA) [H‐P(AN‐MA)] membranes were also investigated. It was found that with the increase of hydrolysis temperature, pure water flux (PWF) increased first and then decreased. When the hydrolysis temperature increased to 30 °C, the PWF of the H‐P(AN‐MA) membrane was up to the maximum of 6712.7 L/m2 h, which increased by 1661.6 L/m2 h, compared with the P(AN‐MA) membranes. When 1 wt % sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was incorporated into the diluents, the PWF increased dramatically, especially in high hydrolysis temperature. When the hydrolysis temperature was up to 70 °C, the PWF of H‐P(AN‐MA) membranes containing 1 wt % SDS increased by 2.3 times compared to the sample without SDS under the same condition. With 2 wt % amino functionalized multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs‐NH2) employed as the additive, the tensile strength was up to 4.55 MPa. When 1 wt % SDS and 0.5 wt % MWCNTs‐NH2 were mixed together, the bovine serum albumin rejection increased from 31.2% to 40.9%. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Poly(GMA/MMA) beads were synthesized from glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) in the presence of a cross‐linker (i.e. ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate) (EGDMA) via suspension polymerization. The epoxy groups of the poly(GMA/MMA) beads were converted into amino groups with either ammonia or 1,6‐diaminohexane (i.e. spacer‐arm). An L ‐histidine ligand was then covalently immobilized on the aminated (poly(GMA/MMA)‐AH) and/or the spacer‐arm attached (poly(GMA/MMA)‐SAH) beads using glutaric dialdehyde as a coupling agent. Both affinity adsorbents were used in human serum albumin (HSA) adsorption/desorption studies under defined pH, ionic strength or temperature conditions in a batch reactor. The spacer‐arm attached affinity adsorbent resulted in an increase in the adsorption capacity to HSA when compared to the aminated counterpart (i.e. poly(GMA/MMA)‐AH). The maximum adsorption capacities of the affinity adsorbents were found to be significantly high, i.e. 43.7 and 80.2 mg g?1 (of the beads), while the affinity constants, evaluated by the Langmuir model, were 3.96 × 10?7 and 9.53 × 10?7 mol L?1 for poly(GMA/MMA)‐AH and poly(GMA/MMA)‐SAH, respectively. The adsorption capacities of the affinity adsorbents were decreased for HSA by increasing the ionic strength, adjusted with NaCl. The adsorption kinetics of HSA were analysed by using pseudo‐first and pseudo‐second‐order equations. The second‐order equation fitted well with the experimental data. The possibility of sorption of technetium‐99 in the form of pertechnetate anion (TcO4?) and the sorption kinetics for removing TcO4? from aqueous solution by chelating polymers based on glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) were investigated. Two samples of macroporous crosslinked poly(glycidyl methacrylate‐co‐ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (PGME), with different amount of the crosslinker (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, EGDMA), were synthesized by suspension copolymerization and functionalized with diethylene triamine (deta). We propose that nonspecific sorption of pertechnetate anion via electrostatic interactions takes place at the protonated amino groups of macroporous crosslinked copolymer. The results of batch experiments performed at pH 1–14 showed fast sorption kinetics for removing TcO4? by amino‐functionalized PGME‐deta in a wide range of pH, that is, from 1.0 to 9.0. Almost complete removal of TcO4? (91–98%) was reached within 180 min in the stated pH range (1.0–9.0), with the sorption half‐times of under 25 min. The partitioning coefficients of linear adsorption isotherms, with 180‐min equilibrium time, reach the high values of 2130 mL g?1 and 1698 mL g?1 for the two samples of synthesized PGME‐deta. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polyethylene‐octene elastomer (POE)/organoclay nanocomposite was prepared by melt mixing of the POE with an organoclay (Cloisite 20A) in an internal mixer, using poly[ethylene‐co‐(methyl acrylate)‐co‐(glycidyl methacrylate)] copolymer (E‐MG‐GMA) as a compatibilizer. X‐ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy analysis revealed that an intercalated nanocomposite was formed and the silicate layers of the clay were uniformly dispersed at a nanometre scale in the POE matrix. The nanocomposite exhibited greatly enhanced tensile and dynamic mechanical properties compared with the POE/clay composite without the compatibilizer. The POE/E‐MA‐GMA/clay nanocomposite was used to produce foams by a batch process in an autoclave, with supercritical carbon dioxide as a foaming agent. The nanocomposite produced a microcellular foam with average cell size as small as 3.4 µm and cell density as high as 2 × 1011 cells cm?3. Copyright © 2005 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

This work presents data on human immunoglobulin G (HIgG) adsorption onto L ‐arginine ligand attached poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐based affinity beads which were synthesized from methyl methacrylate (MMA) and glycidiyl methacrylate (GMA) in the presence of a crosslinker (i.e., ethylene glycol dimethacrylate; EGDMA) by suspension polymerization. The epoxy groups of the poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA) beads were converted into amino groups after reaction with ammonia or 1,6‐diaminohexane (i.e., spacer‐arm). With L ‐arginine as a ligand, it was covalently immobilized on the aminated (poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐ AA) and/or the spacer‐arm attached (poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐SA) beads, using glutaric dialdehyde as a coupling agent. Both affinity poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐based beads were used in HIgG adsorption/desorption studies under defined pH, ionic strength, or temperature conditions in a batch reactor, using acid‐treated poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA) beads as a control system. The poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐SA affinity beads resulted in an increase in the adsorption capacity to HIgG compared with the aminated counterpart (i.e., poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐AA). The maximum adsorption capacities of the poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐AA and poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐SA affinity beads were found to be 112.36 and 142 mg g?1, and the affinity constants (Kd), evaluated by the Langmuir model, were 2.48 × 10?7 and 6.98 × 10?7M, respectively. Adsorption capacities of the poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐AA and poly(GMA/MMA/EGDMA)‐SA were decreased with HIgG by increasing the ionic strength adjusted with NaCl. Adsorption kinetic of HIgG onto both affinity adsorbents was analyzed with first‐ and second‐order kinetic equations. The first‐order equation fitted well with the experimental data. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 104: 672–679, 2007  相似文献

A series of high temperature polymer electrolyte membranes were fabricated based on imidazolium poly(2,6‐dimethyl‐1,4‐phenylene oxide) (PPO) using methylimidazole (MeIm) and triethoxysilylpropyldihydroimidazole (SiIm) as quaternization reagents via the SN2 nucleophilic substitution. Meanwhile SiIm was also employed as a crosslinking agent and the crosslinked Si–O–Si network was constructed through a hydrolysis procedure of SiIm in an acid medium. Compared with the PPO‐100%MeIm membrane without the crosslinking structure, the imidazolium siloxane crosslinked PPO‐x%SiIm‐y%MeIm membranes exhibited increased acid doping contents, enhanced dimensional stabilities, improved mechanical properties and higher conductivities. The PPO‐30%SiIm‐70%MeIm/(198 wt% phosphoric acid) membrane displayed a conductivity of 0.08 S cm?1 at 180 °C without humidifying and a tensile strength of 6.4 MPa at room temperature. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Phosphonic acid functionalized siloxane crosslinked with 3‐glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) grafted polybenzimidazole (PBI) membranes are prepared by sol–gel process. The structure of the membranes is characterized by Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction spectroscopy. SEM images of the membranes show that the membranes are homogeneous and compact. The crosslinked membranes exhibit excellent thermal stability, chemical stability and mechanical property. The proton conductivity of the crosslinked membranes increases by an order of magnitude over range of 20 °C to 160 °C under anhydrous condition, which can reach 3.15 × 10?2 S cm?1 at 160 °C under anhydrous condition. The activation energy of proton conductivity for membranes decreases with increase of PBI, because the formation of hydrogen bond network between the phosphonic acid and the imidazole ring can enhance the continuity of hydrogen bond in the membrane. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(acrylonitrile‐co‐methyl acrylate) [P(AN‐MA)] flat microfiltration membranes were successfully prepared via the thermally induced phase separation (TIPS) method, by using low polar caprolactam (CPL) and methoxypolyethylene glycol 550 (MPEG 550) as the mixed diluent. In this work, P(AN‐MA) membranes exhibit bi‐continuous networks, porous surfaces, high porosity, and big pore size, when membrane fabricated from a high MPEG 550 content, low P(AN‐MA) concentration, and small cooling rate, it can be dry state preservation and do not need to be impregnated by any solvent. When the ternary system was composed of 15 wt % P(AN‐MA), 12.5 wt % CPL, and 87.5 wt % MPEG 550, formed at 25 °C air bath, membrane has the highest water flux of 4420 L m?2 h?1. The obtained P(AN‐AN) membrane displays a high carbonic black ink rejection ranging from 83.7 to 98.5 wt %. Moreover, P(AN‐MA) polymer not only retains the advantages of PAN but also reduces the polar component from 16.2 to 10.77 MPa0.5. It can be used membrane matrix to obtain pore structure and excellent mechanical property membrane via TIPS. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci. 2018 , 135, 46173.  相似文献

To improve the dispersity of multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate‐co?3‐hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) matrix, MWCNTs functionalized with carboxyl groups, hydroxyl groups, and atactic poly (3‐hydroxybutyrate) (ataPHB) through acid oxidation, esterification reaction, and “grafting from” method, respectively, were used to fabricate nanofiller/PHBV nanocomposites. The crystallization behavior, dispersion of MWCNTs before and after functionalization in PHBV matrices, and mechanical properties of a series of nanocomposites were investigated. The differential scanning calorimetry, wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction, and polarized optical microscope results suggested that the four types of MWCNTs acted as effective heterogeneous nucleation agents, inducing an increase in the crystallization rate, crystallinity, and crystallite size. Scanning electron microscope observations demonstrated that functionalized MWCNTs showed improved dispersion comparing with MWCNTs, suggesting an enhanced interfacial interaction between PHBV and functionalized MWCNTs. Consequently, the mechanical properties of the functionalized MWCNTs/PHBV nanocomposites have been improved as evident from dynamic mechanical and static tensile tests. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties of the poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) composites containing functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (f‐MWCNTs) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) hybrid nanofillers have been investigated. The observed electrical percolation threshold of FHC is 0.8 wt% with maximum conductivity of 1.21 × 10?3 S/cm at 4 wt% of f‐MWCNTs. The electrical transport mechanism and magneto resistance studied of hybrid composites have also been investigated. Progressive addition of f‐MWCNTs in rGO/PMMA composite results increase in mechanical (tensile strength and Young's modulus) and thermal (thermal stability) properties of f‐MWCNTs‐rGO/PMMA hybrid nanocomposites (FHC). The increased mechanical properties are due to the efficient load transfer from PMMA matrix to f‐MWCNTs and rGO through better chemical interaction. The strong interaction between PMMA and f‐MWCNTs‐rGO in FHC is the main cause for improved thermal stability. POLYM. ENG. SCI., 59:1075–1083, 2019. © 2019 Society of Plastics Engineers  相似文献

In this work, 3D printable gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) based on N,N‐dimethylacrylamide (DMAAm) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) in lithium chloride containing ethylene glycol solution are synthesized and their physicochemical properties are investigated. 3D printing is carried out with a customized stereolithography type 3D gel printer named “Soft and Wet Intelligent Matter‐Easy Realizer” and free forming GPE samples having variable shapes and sizes are obtained. Printed PVDF/PDMAAm‐based GPEs exhibit tunable mechanical properties and favorable thermal stability. Electrochemical proprieties of the printed GPEs are carried out via impedance spectroscopy in the temperature range of 25–90 °C by varying PVDF content. Ionic conductivity as high as 6.5 × 10?4 S cm?1 is achieved at room temperature for GPE containing low PVDF content (5 wt%) and conductivity of the GPEs is increased as temperature rises.  相似文献

Experimental results are presented for nanocomposite foams based on unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride)/(wood flour)/(multi‐wall carbon nanotubes) (PVC/WF/MWCNTs). The nanocomposite samples were prepared in an internal mixer and foamed via a batch processing method using compression molding. Nanoparticles were functionalized by sodium hypochlorite solution, and the functionalization process was monitored by Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy. The effects of MWCNTs (both neat and functionalized) and blowing agent concentration on the morphological properties (cell size and cell density) and mechanical properties (tensile and flexural strength) of the foam samples were studied. The results revealed that foam cell sizes decreased and cell densities increased with addition of MWCNTs. The dispersion of nanoparticles in the PVC medium was increased by functionalization, and the morphological properties of the foams containing functionalized nanoparticles were improved. Density of nanocomposite foams decreased more with functionalized MWCNTs as compared to other samples. Chemical blowing agent concentration had no significant effect on sample density. Mechanical properties of the samples were improved by using functionalized MWCNTs in comparison with those of foams without this component. J. VINYL ADDIT. Microphase‐separated poly(styrene‐co‐sodium styrene sulfonate) random copolymer (PSSU) membranes were fabricated through a new copolymerization process. Two immiscible monomers, styrene and sodium styrene sulfonate were dissolved in a single solvent and formed homogeneous solutions, which were directly converted to wall‐to‐wall membranes via radical copolymerization process with microphase separation. Since urethane acrylate nonionomer (UAN) chain has amphiphilicity as well as reactivity with vinyl monomers, UAN chain could act not only as compatibilizer for polystyrene and poly(sodium styrene sulfonate), but also as macrocrosslinker, which makes it possible for the formation of crosslinked copolymer of two immiscible polymers without macrophase separation. TEM image of the PSSU membranes showed that nanosized hydrophilic domains formed by hydrophilic/hydrophobic microphase separation were dispersed at hydrophobic matrix phase. PSSU membranes fabricated using UAN chain having longer chain length of polyethylene oxide showed bigger size of hydrophilic domains, which was also confirmed by TEM images. Fabricated PSSU membranes showed proton conductivity higher than 10?2 S/cm and methanol permeability lower than 10?7 cm2/s of Nafion® 117 membranes. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work, the properties of novel ionic polymer blends of crosslinked and sulfonated poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) are investigated. Crosslinking and sulfonation of PVA were carried out using sulfosuccinic acid (SSA) in the presence of dispersed SPEEK to obtain semi‐interpenetrating network blends. PVA–SSA/SPEEK blend membranes of different compositions were studied for their ion‐exchange capacity, proton conductivity, water uptake, and thermal and mechanical properties. The hydrated blend membranes show good proton conductivities in the range of 10?3 to 10?2 S/cm. When compared with pure component membranes, the PVA–SSA/SPEEK blend membranes also exhibit improvement in tensile strength, tensile modulus, and delay in the onset of thermal and chemical degradation. Semi‐interpenetrating nature of the blends is established from morphology and dynamic mechanical analysis. Morphology of the membranes was studied using scanning electron microscopy after selective chemical treatment. The dynamic mechanical properties of the membranes are examined to understand the miscibility characteristics of the blends. The relative proportions of PVA and SPEEK and the degree of crosslinking of PVA–SSA are important factors in determining the optimum properties for the blend. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. A new compatibilizer [P(GMA‐co‐VCz) copolymer] containing carbazole moiety and reactive epoxide group, which can functionalize multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) for making superior epoxy composites, was prepared by a simple one‐pot free radical polymerization. The designed compatibilizer could noncovalently functionalize multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs) via π‐π interaction as evidenced from fluorescence, Raman, and FTIR spectra analysis, and efficiently disperse MWCNTs in organic solvents. TEM images suggest a good wrapping of P(GMA‐co‐VCz) on MWCNTs surface. P(GMA‐co‐VCz) functionalized MWCNTs were more homogeneously dispersed in epoxy matrix than the case without compatibilizer, indicating that the compatibilizer improves the compatibility between MWCNTs and epoxy resin. In addition, the presence of epoxide groups in compatibilizer could generate covalent bonds with the epoxy matrix and improve the interface interaction between MWCNTs and epoxy matrix. As a result, mechanical and electrical properties of the epoxy composites with compatibilizer were largely improved as compared with those of composites without compatibilizer. The addition of as little as 0.15 wt % of MWCNTs to epoxy matrix affords a great increase of 40% in storage modulus and 52.5% in elongation at break. Furthermore, a sharp decrease of almost 9 orders of magnitude in volume resistivity of epoxy composite is observed. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci. 2017 , 134, 45022.  相似文献

Crosslinked sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) membranes were prepared through the electron beam (EB)‐irradiation crosslinking of SPEEK/1,4‐butanediol under various irradiation conditions and used as a proton exchange membrane (PEM) for fuel cell applications. The crosslinked membranes were characterized by gel fraction, a universal testing machine (UTM), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), and small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS). The gel fraction of the crosslinked membranes was used to estimate the degree of crosslinking, and the gel fraction was found to be increased with an increase of the crosslinker content and EB‐absorbed dose. The UTM results indicate that a brittle EB‐crosslinked membrane becomes more flexible with an increase in the crosslinker content. The DMA results show that the EB‐crosslinked membranes have well‐developed ionic aggregation regions and the cluster Tg of membranes decrease with an increase in the 1,4‐butanediol crosslinker content. The SAXS results show that the Bragg and persistence distance of crosslinked membranes increase with an increase in the crosslinker content. The proton conductivities of the EB‐crosslinked membranes were more than 9 × 10?2 S/cm. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci. 2015 , 132, 41760.  相似文献

A series of the copolymer, poly(styrene‐random‐glycidyl methacrylate) (P(St‐r‐GMA)), is synthesized by free radical polymerization, and characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. The various substrates are then modified by P(St‐r‐GMA) under ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. Subsequently, the poly(2‐methyl‐2‐oxazoline) (PMOXA) based coatings are prepared by anchoring amino‐terminated PMOXA onto the P(St‐r‐GMA) modified surfaces through the reaction between the amino group of PMOXA and epoxy group of P(St‐r‐GMA). The results of ellipsometry, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and water contact angle reveal that PMOXA‐based coatings can be prepared successfully on the substrates through UV‐crosslinked P(St‐r‐GMA) as anchoring coatings. Besides, the PMOXA‐based coatings display not only a superior antifouling property but long‐term stability as well. Furthermore, the location of the coating formed on the substrate can be well controlled through selecting the site of UV irradiation, which can be utilized for the selectivity of protein adsorption (or resistance) on special devices.  相似文献

In this investigation, terpolymers, copolymers, and homopolymer of acrylonitrile with dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide (DMAPA), itaconic acid (IA) viz., poly(acrylonitrile‐ran‐3‐dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide‐ran‐itaconic acid) [P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA)], poly(acrylonitrile‐co‐3, dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide) [P(AN‐DMAPP)] were synthesized with varying amounts of comonomers using solution polymerization process. The chemical structure, composition, bonding network were determined employing infrared, 1H and, 13‐carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic techniques. Molecular characteristics of as‐synthesized polymers such as different kinds of average molecular weights, molecular weight distribution were estimated applying solution viscometry and size exclusion chromatography. The influence of comonomers (DMPAA, IA) on the thermal stabilization characteristics of acrylonitrile terpolymers in comparison with copolymers and homopolymers of acrylonitrile were studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), hyphenated thermal techniques (thermal gravimetry coupled with differential thermal analyzer). The DSC curves of P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA) exhibit a distinct broader bimodal peaks with thermal exotherm initiating at as low as 165 °C, and followed by two peaks with temperature difference of 42 °C, releasing the evolved heat at a release rate of 0.7–0.11 J g?1s?1over 10 min as compared to 1.2, 7.5 J g?1s?1 in 4.5, 2 min as observed in P(AN‐DMAPP), polyacrylonitrile, respectively. The thermal stability of P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA) and P(AN‐DMAPP), as evidenced by TGA‐DTA was found to be higher than PAN homopolymers. Specific heat capacity measurements confirmed the DSC results. Bulk densities of P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA) were in the range 0.31–0.35 g/cc. These results confirm the low‐temperature stabilization characteristics and suitability of P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA) as low cost carbon fiber precursor polymers. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. In order to prepare the bio‐based polymeric materials, a gallic acid epoxy resin (GA‐ER) is synthesized by using biodegradable gallic acid, and the nanocomposites of GA‐ER/glycidyl methacrylate (GMA)/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were prepared by dual hybrid cationic ring‐opening reaction. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results show that the curing reaction temperature of the nanocomposites is between 150 and 225°C. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results suggest that MWCNTs are homodispersing in the GA‐ER/GMA matrix when the MWCNTs content is not more than 1.0 wt%. The glass transition temperature of the nanocomposite with 0.5 wt% MWCNTs is 9.3°C higher than that of pure resin system. The initial thermal degradation temperature and degradation activation energies Ea of the nanocomposite with 1.0 wt% MWCNTs is 10°C and 68.6 kJ/mol higher than that the pure resin system, respectively.
