In e-learning environments that use the collaboration strategy, providing participants with a set of communication services may not be enough to ensure collaborative learning. It is thus necessary to analyse collaboration regularly and frequently. Using machine learning techniques is recommended when analysing environments where there are a large number of participants or where they control the collaboration process. This research studied two approaches that use machine learning techniques to analyse student collaboration in a long-term collaborative learning experience during the academic years 2006–2007, 2007–2008 and 2008–2009. The aims were to analyse collaboration during the collaboration process and that it should be domain independent. Accordingly, the intention was to be able to carry out the analysis regularly and frequently in different collaborative environments. One of the two approaches classifies students according to their collaboration using unsupervised machine learning techniques, clustering, while the other approach constructs metrics that provide information on collaboration using supervised learning techniques, decision trees. The research results suggest that collaboration can be analysed in this way, thus achieving the aims set out with two different machine learning techniques.  相似文献

Inter‐organizational collaboration is increasingly a topic for studies into accidents and disasters as well as exercises. In this study, which is based on interviews with first responders, we compared perceived collaboration during an exercise with crisis work. The three organizations included in this study—fire department, police and ambulance services—perceived the investigated tunnel exercise completely different, ranging from harmonious interaction to power struggles between commanding officers, fragmented decision‐making and ambiguity. When comparing the exercise with an incident, we found that collaboration was more evident during incidents than in exercises. However, collaboration exercises appear to improve inter‐organizational collaboration by stimulating informal structures, practicing listening and delegating, getting to know one another and learning a common language.  相似文献

当前服务替换方法多关注于替换服务与失效服务在功能和质量层面的匹配,缺乏对两者协作关系的考量。针对上述问题,提出一种融合服务聚类与协作关系的服务替换方法。首先,利用服务之间的组合关系构建服务协作图谱,基于node2vec进行序列采样并生成协作向量,进而计算服务之间的协作相似度。然后,通过引入服务簇缩减替换时的服务查找空间,从功能和质量层面快速构建候选替换服务集合。最后,在候选替换服务集合中综合服务质量评分和协作相似度实现可替换服务的择优推荐。实验证明该方法可以有效提高服务替换的效率与合理性。  相似文献

The HUB-CI model is investigated in a telerobotic system in a client/server network to manage the lifecycle of engineering design and prototyping. The purpose of this platform is to support collaborative engineering design and proof of concept to enhance distributed team collaboration and resource utilization. The suggested platform is exemplified in two collaboration support tools and a physical prototyping platform. Structured Co-Insight Management is developed to support innovative idea exchanges and the consensus decision-making during the design process. Conflict/error detection management helps preventing conflicts and errors during the lifecycle of design and development. Physical collaboration over the network occurs when a team controls the telerobot operation during prototyping and testing in design cycles. A pilot system is implemented with a group project for the design of an electronic circuit (including both hardware and software designs). The functional assessment method is used to compare this platform to other collaborative design tools. The system presented offers unique qualitative advantages as an integrated collaboration support system.  相似文献

This study examined affect during high school students' face‐to‐face collaborative inquiry learning in science, supported by the web‐based software Virtual Baltic Sea Explorer. Self‐reported affective states during the inquiry process in peer groups were related to evaluations of a group's collaboration and performance in three phases of interdisciplinary science inquiry (biology and chemistry). Results indicate that despite high cognitive demands, positive affect prevailed whereas negative affect was infrequent. Structural equation modelling was used to analyse the significance of affect on collaboration and group performance. The relationship between affect, collaboration, and the groups' productive outcome revealed that self‐assurance had a significant effect on collaboration and support, intertwined with scientific understanding and group performance. Furthermore, a cross‐lagged analysis showed a reciprocal relation between positive affect, scientific understanding, collaboration, and support. These outcomes contribute to the scarce literature on the nature and importance of affect in the process of face‐to‐face computer‐supported collaborative inquiry and learning in science.  相似文献
