Today the water quality of many inland and coastal waters is compromised by cultural eutrophication in consequence of increased human agricultural and industrial activities. Remote sensing is widely applied to monitor the trophic state of these waters. This study investigates the performance of near infrared-red models for the remote estimation of chlorophyll-a concentrations in turbid productive waters and evaluates several near infrared-red models developed within the last 34 years. Three models were calibrated for a dataset with chlorophyll-a concentrations from 0 to 100 mg m−3 and validated for independent and statistically different datasets with chlorophyll-a concentrations from 0 to 100 mg m−3 and 0 to 25 mg m−3 for the spectral bands of the MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) and MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). The MERIS two-band model estimated chlorophyll-a concentrations slightly more accurately than the more complex models, with mean absolute errors of 2.3 mg m−3 for chlorophyll-a concentrations from 0 to 100 mg m−3 and 1.2 mg m−3 for chlorophyll-a concentrations from 0 to 25 mg m−3. Comparable results from several near infrared-red models with different levels of complexity, calibrated for inland and coastal waters around the world, indicate a high potential for the development of a simple universally applicable near infrared-red algorithm.  相似文献

Biophysical and above-water reflectance measurements collected in 2006 were used to evaluate the OC3M, standard GSM01, and a modified version of the GSM01 algorithms for estimating chlorophyll-a (chl) concentrations in the Strait of Georgia, located off the southwest coast of Canada. The Strait was generally a case 2 water body, transitioning from chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) dominant in the central region to possibly particulate dominant in Fraser River plume regions. Results showed that the OC3M algorithm was somewhat effective (R2 = 0.550) outside the most turbid areas of the Fraser River plume. However, a systematic overestimation of lower chl concentrations was found, which may have been related to the higher CDOM absorption observed throughout the Strait. The standard GSM01 algorithm had moderately good agreement with measured CDOM absorption (R2 = 0.593) and total suspended solids (TSS) concentrations (R2 = 0.888), but was ineffective at estimating chl concentrations. Localized characterization of the CDOM absorption, through a hyperbolic CDOM model, improved the modified GSM01 results with slightly better agreement with measure CDOM absorption (R2 = 0.614) and TSS concentrations (R2 = 0.933). When the modified GSM01 algorithm was limited to regions with lower combined CDOM and non-algal particulate absorption (adg (443) < 0.7 m− 1), it was more effective then the OC3M algorithm at estimating chl concentrations. This suggests that a threshold value on the adg (443) or bbp (443) estimated by the GSM01 algorithm may be beneficial for limiting turbidity influence on the algorithm. The further reinterpretation of phytoplankton absorption from the modified GSM01 algorithm with a two-component phytoplankton model resulted in a chl relationship with an R2 = 0.677 and a linear slope closer to one.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the spectral responses of algal chlorophyll and water, under natural sunlight with varying suspended sediment concentrations (SSC). Twenty levels of SSC with each of two sediment types were generated, ranging from 50 to 1000 mgl?1, in 75101 of water containing chlorophyll-a concentrations of 718 μgl?1 and 295 μgl?1. Results indicate that suspended sediments do not eliminate the prominent spectral patterns of algal chlorophyll, even as SSC reached 1000 mgl?1. Between 400 and 900 nm, the relation between reflectance and SSC satisfies the expression: d2R(λ)/dS2<0. The effects of varying SSC on the positions and magnitudes of pronounced chlorophyll features were investigated. The ratio between the NIR and red wavelengths was totally independent of SSC. Thus, our finding supports using it as an index for measuring chlorophyll in natural surface water containing suspended sediments.  相似文献

Leaf area index (LAI) is a commonly required parameter when modelling land surface fluxes. Satellite based imagers, such as the 300 m full resolution (FR) Medium Spectral Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS), offer the potential for timely LAI mapping. The availability of multiple MERIS LAI algorithms prompts the need for an evaluation of their performance, especially over a range of land use conditions. Four current methods for deriving LAI from MERIS FR data were compared to estimates from in-situ measurements over a 3 km × 3 km region near Ottawa, Canada. The LAI of deciduous dominant forest stands and corn, soybean and pasture fields was measured in-situ using digital hemispherical photography and processed using the CANEYE software. MERIS LAI estimates were derived using the MERIS Top of Atmosphere (TOA) algorithm, MERIS Top of Canopy (TOC) algorithm, the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) Empirical algorithm and the University of Toronto (UofT) GLOBCARBON algorithm. Results show that TOA and TOC LAI estimates were nearly identical (R2 > 0.98) with underestimation of LAI when it is larger than 4 and overestimation when smaller than 2 over the study region. The UofT and CCRS LAI estimates had root mean square errors over 1.4 units with large (∼ 25%) relative residuals over forests and consistent underestimates over corn fields. Both algorithms were correlated (R2 > 0.8) possibly due to their use of the same spectral bands derived vegetation index for retrieving LAI. LAI time series from TOA, TOC and CCRS algorithms showed smooth growth trajectories however similar errors were found when the values were compared with the in-situ LAI. In summary, none of the MERIS LAI algorithms currently meet performance requirements from the Global Climate Observing System.  相似文献

Accurate remote assessment of phytoplankton chlorophyll a (chla) concentration is particularly challenging in turbid, productive waters. Recently a conceptual model containing reflectance in three spectral bands in the red and near infra-red range of the spectrum was suggested for retrieving chla concentrations in turbid productive waters; it was calibrated and validated in lakes and reservoirs in Nebraska and Iowa. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the performance of this three band model as well as its special case, the two-band model to estimate chla concentration in Chesapeake Bay, as representative of estuarine Case II waters, and to assess the accuracy of chla retrieval. To evaluate the model performance, dual spectroradiometers were used to measure subsurface spectral radiance reflectance in the visible and near infra-red range of the spectrum. Water samples were collected concurrently and contained widely variable chla (9 to 77.4 mg/m3) and total suspended solids (7-65 mg/L dry wt). Colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) absorption at 440 nm was 0.20 to 2.50 m− 1; Secchi disk transparency ranged from 0.28 to 1.5 m. The two- and three-band models were spectrally tuned to select the spectral bands for most accurate chla estimation. Strong linear relationships were established between analytically measured chla and both the three-band model [R− 1(675)-R− 1(695)] × R(730) and the two-band model R(720)/R(670), where R(λ) is reflectance at wavelength λ. The three-band model accounted for 81% of variation in chla and allowed estimation of chla with a root mean square error (RMSE) of less than 7.9 mg/m3, whereas the two-band model accounted for 79% of chla variability and RMSE of chla estimation was below 8.4 mg/m3. The three-band model with MERIS spectral bands allows accurate chla estimation with RMSE below 9.1 mg/m3. Two-band model with SeaWiFS bands and MODIS 667 nm and 748 nm bands can estimate chla with RMSE below 11 mg/m3. The findings underlined the rationale behind the conceptual model and demonstrated the robustness of this algorithm for chla retrieval in turbid, productive estuarine waters.  相似文献

Evapotranspiration (ET) is a major pathway for water loss from many ecosystems, and its seasonal variation affects soil moisture and net ecosystem CO2 exchange. We developed an algorithm to estimate ET using a semi-empirical Priestley-Taylor (PT) approach, which can be applied at a range of spatial scales. We estimated regional net radiation (Rnet) at monthly time scales using MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) albedo and land surface temperature. Good agreement was found between satellite-based estimates of monthly Rnet and field-measured Rnet, with a RMSE of less than 30 W m− 2. An adjustable PT coefficient was parameterized as a function of leaf area index and soil moisture based on observations from 27 AmeriFlux eddy covariance sites. The biome specific optimization using tower-based observations performed well, with a RMSE of 17 W m− 2 and a correlation of 0.90 for predicted monthly latent heat. We implemented the approach within the hydrology module of the CASA biogeochemical model, and used it to estimate ET at a 1 km spatial resolution for the conterminous United States (CONUS). The RMSE of modeled ET was reduced to 21.1 mm mon− 1, compared to 27.1 mm mon− 1 in the original CASA model. The monthly ET rates averaged over the Mississippi River basin were similar to those derived using GRACE satellite measurements and river discharge data. ET varied substantially over the CONUS, with annual mean values of 110 ± 76 mm yr− 1 in deserts, 391 ± 176 mm yr− 1 in savannas and grasslands, and 840 ± 234 mm yr− 1 in broadleaf forests. The PT coefficient was the main driver for the spatial variation of ET in arid areas, whereas Rnet controlled ET when mean annual precipitation was higher than approximately 400 mm yr− 1.  相似文献

In typical Case 2 waters, accurate remote sensing retrieval of chlorophyll a (chla) is still a challenging task. In this study, focusing on the Galician rias (ΝW Spain), algorithms based on neural network (NN) techniques were developed for the retrieval of chla concentration in optically complex waters, using Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) data. There is considerable interest in the accurate estimation of chla for the Galician rias, because of the economic and social importance of the extensive culture of mussels, and the high frequency of harmful algal events. Fifteen MERIS full resolution (FR) cloud-free images paired with in situ chla data (for 2002-2004 and 2006-2008) were used for the development and validation of the NN. The scope of NN was established from the clusters obtained using fuzzy c-mean (FCM) clustering techniques applied to the satellite-derived data. Three different NNs were developed: one including the whole data set, and two others using only points belonging to one of the clusters. The input data for these latter two NNs was chosen depending on the quality level, defined on the basis of quality flags given to each data set. The fitting results were fairly good and proved the capability of the tool to predict chla concentrations in the study area. The best prediction was given for the NN trained with high-quality data using the most abundant cluster data set. The performance parameters in the validation set of this NN were R2 = 0.86, mean percentage error (MPE) = − 0.14, root mean square error (RMSE) = 0.75 mg m− 3, and relative RMSE = 66%. The NN developed in this study detected accurately the peaks of chla, in both training and validation sets. The performance of the Case-2-Regional (C2R) algorithm, routinely used for MERIS data, was also tested and compared with our best performing NN and the sea-truthing data. Results showed that this NN outperformed the C2R, giving much higher R2 and lower RMSE values. This study showed that the combination of in situ data and NN technology improved the retrieval of chla in Case 2 waters, and could be used to obtain more accurate chla maps. A local-based algorithm for the chla retrieval from an ocean colour sensor with the characteristics of MERIS would be a great support in the quantitative monitoring and study of harmful algal events in the coastal waters of the Rias Baixas. The limitations and possible improvements of the developed chla algorithms are also discussed.  相似文献

Assessment of water quality in Lake Garda (Italy) using Hyperion   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
For testing the integration of the remote sensing related technologies into the water quality monitoring programs of Lake Garda (the largest Italian lake), the spatial and spectral resolutions of Hyperion and the capability of physics-based approaches were considered highly suitable. Hyperion data were acquired on 22nd July 2003 and water quality was assessed (i) defining a bio-optical model, (ii) converting the Hyperion at-sensor radiances into subsurface irradiance reflectances, and (iii) adopting a bio-optical model inversion technique. The bio-optical model was parameterised using specific inherent optical properties of the lake and light field variables derived from a radiative transfer numerical model. A MODTRAN-based atmospheric correction code, complemented with an air/water interface correction was used to convert Hyperion at-sensor radiances into subsurface irradiance reflectance values. These reflectance values were comparable to in situ reflectance spectra measured during the Hyperion overpass, except at longer wavelengths (beyond 700 nm), where reflectance values were contaminated by severe atmospheric adjacency effects. Chlorophyll-a and tripton concentrations were retrieved by inverting two Hyperion bands selected using a sensitivity analysis applied to the bio-optical model. The sensitivity analysis indicated that the assessment of coloured dissolved organic matter was not achievable in this study due to the limited coloured dissolved organic matter concentration range of the lake, resulting in reflectance differences below the environmental measurement noise of Hyperion. The chlorophyll-a and tripton image-products were compared to in situ data collected during the Hyperion overpass, both by traditional sampling techniques (8 points) and by continuous flow-through systems (32 km). For chlorophyll-a the correlation coefficient between in situ point stations and Hyperion-inferred concentrations was 0.77 (data range from 1.30 to 2.16 mg m− 3). The Hyperion-derived chlorophyll-a concentrations also match most of the flow-through transect data. For tripton, the validation was constrained by variable re-suspension phenomena. The correlation coefficient between in situ point stations and Hyperion-derived concentrations increased from 0.48 to 0.75 (data range from 0.95 to 2.13 g m− 3) if the sampling data from the re-suspension zone was avoided. The comparison of Hyperion-derived tripton concentrations and flow-through transect data exhibited a similar mismatch. The results of this research suggest further studies to address compatibilities of validation methods for water body features with a high rate of change, and to reduce the contamination by atmospheric adjacency effects on Hyperion data at longer wavelengths in Alpine environment. The transferability of the presented method to other sensors and the ability to assess water quality independent from in situ water quality data, suggest that management relevant applications for Lake Garda (and other subalpine lakes) could be supported by remote sensing.  相似文献

The growth of heterostructure of n-type GaN/AlN/Si(1 1 1) is carried out using the molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) Veeco model Gen II system. The surface morphology of the as-grown GaN sample showed pits on the GaN surface in a ratio small than those found by other research groups. Porous GaN samples were synthesized by an electrochemical etching technique combined with increasing the current density to 75 mA/cm2. The formation of pore structures are of different sizes, the etched surface became hexagonal, and pore structures are confined to a smaller size. The PL results showed greater blue shift luminescence in comparison to results found by other research groups. The reduction in crystallite size is confirmed by an increase in the broadening of XRD spectra. Raman spectra also displayed a strong band at 522 cm−1 from the Si(1 1 1) substrate, and a small band at 301 cm−1. These are due to the acoustic phonons of Si. Two Raman active optical phonons are assigned to h-GaN at 139 cm−1 and 568 cm−1, due to E2 (low) and E2 (high) respectively. The sensitivity of the gas sensor is increased as a function of the hydrogen flow rate and they became much higher compared to the as-grown sample.  相似文献

Accurate estimation of phytoplankton chlorophyll a (Chla) concentration from remotely sensed data is particularly challenging in turbid, productive waters. The objectives of this study are to validate the applicability of a semi-analytical three-band algorithm in estimating Chla concentration in the highly turbid, widely variable waters of Taihu Lake, China, and to improve the algorithm using a proposed four-band algorithm. The improved algorithm is expressed as [Rrs(λ1)− 1 − Rrs(λ2)− 1][Rrs(λ4)− 1 − Rrs(λ3)− 1]− 1. The two semi-analytical algorithms are calibrated and evaluated against two independent datasets collected from 2007 and 2005 in Taihu Lake. Strong linear relationships were established between measured Chla concentration and that derived from the three-band algorithm of [Rrs− 1(660) − Rrs− 1(692)]Rrs(740) and the four-band algorithm of [Rrs− 1(662) − Rrs− 1(693)][Rrs− 1(740) − Rrs− 1(705)]− 1. The first algorithm accounts for 87% and 80% variation in Chla concentration in the 2007 and 2005 datasets, respectively. The second algorithm accounts for 97% of variability in Chla concentration for the 2007 dataset and 87% of variation in the 2005 dataset. The three-band algorithm has a mean relative error (MRE) of 43.9% and 34.7% for the 2007 and 2005 datasets. The corresponding figures for the four-band algorithm are 26.7% and 28.4%. This study demonstrates the potential of the four-band model in estimating Chla even in highly turbid case 2 waters.  相似文献

Mapping lake CDOM by satellite remote sensing   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
Given the importance of coloured dissolved organic matter (CDOM) for the structure and function of lake ecosystems, a method to estimate the amount of CDOM in lake waters over large geographic areas would be highly desirable. Advanced Land Imager (ALI) images were acquired in southern Finland (in 2002) and southern Sweden (in 2003) together with in situ measurements of bio-optical properties of 34 lakes (39 measuring stations). Based on this dataset, a band-ratio type algorithm was developed using ALI band 2 and band 3 for estimating CDOM content (absorption of filtrated water at 420 nm) in lakes. Correlation between in situ measured CDOM and the remote sensing estimate of CDOM was high, r2=0.73. The CDOM retrieval algorithm obtained on the basis of two images and in situ data was validated on a third ALI image (eastern Finland, 2002) that was available in the ALI image archive. In situ water-colour monitoring data from 22 lakes (27 measuring stations) in the third image were available in a database of the Finnish Environment Administration. The water-colour data were converted to CDOM absorption values, which were then compared to the results from a third ALI image. The correlation between remotely estimated and in situ CDOM values in the algorithm validation image was high, r2=0.83. These results support the conclusion that CDOM content in lakes over a wide range of concentrations (aCDOM(420) between 0.68 and 11.13 m−1) can be mapped using Advanced Land Imager data.  相似文献

A CO2 sensor based upon a continuous-wave thermoelectrically-cooled distributed feedback quantum cascade laser operating between 2305 and 2310 cm−1 and a 54.2 cm long optical cell has been developed. Two approaches for direct absorption spectroscopy have been evaluated and applied for monitoring of the CO2 concentration in gas lines and ambient laboratory air. In the first approach optical transmittance was derived from the single channel laser intensity, whilst in the second approach a ratio of signal and reference laser intensities (balanced detection) was used. The optimum residual absorption standard deviation was estimated to be 1.9 × 10−4 for 100 averages of 1 ms duration and 0.1 cm−1 scans over the P(46) CO2 absorption line of the ν3 vibrational band at 2306.926 cm−1. A CO2 detection limit (1 standard deviation) of 36 ppb was estimated for 0.1 s average and balanced detection.  相似文献

Near real-time data from the MODIS satellite sensor was used to detect and trace a harmful algal bloom (HAB), or red tide, in SW Florida coastal waters from October to December 2004. MODIS fluorescence line height (FLH in W m− 2 μm− 1 sr− 1) data showed the highest correlation with near-concurrent in situ chlorophyll-a concentration (Chl in mg m− 3). For Chl ranging between 0.4 to 4 mg m− 3 the ratio between MODIS FLH and in situ Chl is about 0.1 W m− 2 μm− 1 sr− 1 per mg m− 3 chlorophyll (Chl = 1.255 (FLH × 10)0.86, r = 0.92, n = 77). In contrast, the band-ratio chlorophyll product of either MODIS or SeaWiFS in this complex coastal environment provided false information. Errors in the satellite Chl data can be both negative and positive (3-15 times higher than in situ Chl) and these data are often inconsistent either spatially or temporally, due to interferences of other water constituents. The red tide that formed from November to December 2004 off SW Florida was revealed by MODIS FLH imagery, and was confirmed by field sampling to contain medium (104 to 105 cells L− 1) to high (> 105 cells L− 1) concentrations of the toxic dinoflagellate Karenia brevis. The FLH imagery also showed that the bloom started in mid-October south of Charlotte Harbor, and that it developed and moved to the south and southwest in the subsequent weeks. Despite some artifacts in the data and uncertainty caused by factors such as unknown fluorescence efficiency, our results show that the MODIS FLH data provide an unprecedented tool for research and managers to study and monitor algal blooms in coastal environments.  相似文献

An assessment of the black ocean pixel assumption for MODIS SWIR bands   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Recent studies show that an atmospheric correction algorithm using shortwave infrared (SWIR) bands improves satellite-derived ocean color products in turbid coastal waters. In this paper, the black pixel assumption (i.e., zero water-leaving radiance contribution) over the ocean for the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) SWIR bands at 1240, 1640, and 2130 nm is assessed for various coastal ocean regions. The black pixel assumption is found to be generally valid with the MODIS SWIR bands at 1640 and 2130 nm even for extremely turbid waters. For the MODIS 1240 nm band, however, ocean radiance contribution is generally negligible in mildly turbid waters such as regions along the U.S. east coast, while some slight radiance contributions are observed in extremely turbid waters, e.g., some regions along the China east coast, the estuary of the La Plata River. Particularly, in the Hangzhou Bay, the ocean radiance contribution at the SWIR band 1240 nm results in an overcorrection of atmospheric and surface effects, leading to errors of MODIS-derived normalized water-leaving radiance at the blue reaching ~ 0.5 mW cm− 2 μm− 1 sr− 1. In addition, we found that, for non-extremely turbid waters, i.e., the ocean contribution at the near-infrared (NIR) band < ~ 1.0 mW cm− 2 μm− 1 sr− 1, there exists a good relationship in the regional normalized water-leaving radiances between the red and the NIR bands. Thus, for non-extremely turbid waters, such a red-NIR radiance relationship derived regionally can possibly be used for making corrections for the regional NIR ocean contributions without using the SWIR bands, e.g., for atmospheric correction of ocean color products derived from the Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFS).  相似文献

The direct electrochemistry of house fly cytochrome P4506A1 (CYP6A1) confined in dioctadecyl dimethyl ammonium bromide (DDAB) film was achieved. The immobilized CYP6A1 displayed a pair of redox peaks with a formal potential of −0.36 mV in pH 7.0 O2-free phosphate buffers at scan rate of 1 V s−1 and the direct electron transfer of CYP6A1 was characterized by voltammetry. The CYP6A1 in the DDAB film retained its bioactivity and could catalyze the reduction of dissolved oxygen. Upon addition of its substrate aldrin or heptachlor to the air-saturated solution, the reduction peak current of dissolved oxygen increased, which indicates the catalytic behavior of CYP6A1 to its substrates. By amperometry a calibration linear range was obtained to be 9.08 × 10−6-4.54 × 10−5 mol L−1 with a sensitivity of 80 μA mM−1 for aldrin or 8.91 × 10−6-4.46 × 10−5 mol L−1 with a sensitivity of 66 μA mM−1 for heptachlor. The apparent Michaelis-Menten constant for the electrocatalytic activity of CYP6A1 was found to be 7.468 × 10−5 mol L−1 for aldrin and 4.316 × 10−5 mol L−1 for heptachlor. The bioelectrocatalytic products were analysed using gas chromatography (GC) and electron ionization-mass spectrometry (EI-MS). The results confirmed that epoxidation was the main pathways of CYP6A1-mediated organochlorine pesticides oxidation.  相似文献

The study presents and discusses the application of in situ data from the ocean color component of the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET-OC) to assess primary remote sensing products from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the AQUA platform and from the Sea-viewing Wide-Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFS) on the OrbView-2 spacecraft. Three AERONET-OC European coastal sites exhibiting different atmospheric and marine optical properties were considered for the study: the Acqua Alta Oceanographic Tower (AAOT) in the northern Adriatic Sea representing Case-1 and Case-2 moderately sediment dominated waters; and, the Gustaf Dalen Lighthouse Tower (GDLT) in the northern Baltic Proper and the Helsinki Lighthouse Tower (HLT) in the Gulf of Finland, both characterized by Case-2 waters dominated by colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM). The analysis of MODIS derived normalized water-leaving radiance at 551 nm, LWN(551), has shown relatively good results for all sites with uncertainties of the order of 10% and biases ranging from − 1 to − 4%. Larger uncertainty and bias have been observed at 443 nm for the AAOT (i.e., 18 and − 7%, respectively). At the same center wavelength, results for GDLT and HLT have exhibited much larger uncertainties (i.e., 56 and 67%, respectively) and biases (i.e., 18 and 25%, respectively), which undermine the possibility of presently using remote sensing LWN data at the blue center wavelengths for bio-optical investigations in the Baltic Sea. An evaluation of satellite derived aerosol optical thickness, τa, has shown uncertainties and biases of the order of tens of percent increasing with wavelength at all sites. Specifically, MODIS derived τa at 869 nm has shown an overestimate of 71% at the AAOT, 101% at GDLT and 91% at HLT, respectively. This result highlights the effects of a limited number of aerosol models for the atmospheric correction process, and might also indicate the need of applying a vicarious calibration factor to the remote sensing data at the 869 nm center wavelength to remove the effects of uncertainties in the atmospheric optical model and the space sensor radiometric calibration. Similar results have been obtained from the analysis of SeaWiFS data. Finally, in view of illustrating the possibility of increasing the accuracy of satellite regional radiometric products, AERONET-OC data have been applied to reduce systematic errors in MODIS and Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) LWN data likely due to the atmospheric correction process. Results relying on MODIS match-ups for the Baltic Sites (i.e., GDLT and HLT) and MERIS matchups for the AAOT, have indicated a substantial reduction of both uncertainty and bias in the blue and red center wavelengths.  相似文献

Organic thin film transistor (OTFT) chemical sensors rely on the specific electronic structure of the organic semiconductor (OSC) film for determining sensor stability and response to analytes. The delocalized electronic structure is influenced not only by the OSC molecular structure, but also the solid state packing and film morphology. Phthalocyanine (H2Pc) and tetrabenzoporphyrin (H2TBP) have similar molecular structures but different film microstructures when H2Pc is vacuum deposited and H2TBP is solution deposited. The difference in electronic structures is evidenced by the different mobilities of H2TBP and H2Pc OTFTs. H2Pc has a maximum mobility of 8.6 × 10−4 cm2 V−1 s−1 when the substrate is held at 250 °C during deposition and a mobility of 4.8 × 10−5 cm2 V−1 s−1 when the substrate is held at 25 °C during deposition. Solution deposited H2TBP films have a mobility of 5.3 × 10−3 cm2 V−1 s−1, which is consistent with better long-range order and intermolecular coupling within the H2TBP films compared to the H2Pc films. Solution deposited H2TBP also exhibits a textured film morphology with large grains and an RMS roughness 3-5 times larger than H2Pc films with similar thicknesses. Despite these differences, OTFT sensors fabricated from H2TBP and H2Pc exhibit nearly identical analyte sensitivity and analyte response kinetics. The results suggest that while the interactions between molecules in the solid state determine conductivity, localized interactions between the analyte and the molecular binding site dominate analyte binding and determine sensor response.  相似文献

Mapping of total suspended matter concentration (TSM) can be achieved from space-based optical sensors and has growing applications related to sediment transport. A TSM algorithm is developed here for turbid waters, suitable for any ocean colour sensor including MERIS, MODIS and SeaWiFS. Theory shows that use of a single band provides a robust and TSM-sensitive algorithm provided the band is chosen appropriately. Hyperspectral calibration is made using seaborne TSM and reflectance spectra collected in the southern North Sea. Two versions of the algorithm are considered: one which gives directly TSM from reflectance, the other uses the reflectance model of Park and Ruddick (2005) to take account of bidirectional effects.Applying a non-linear regression analysis to the calibration data set gave relative errors in TSM estimation less than 30% in the spectral range 670-750 nm. Validation of this algorithm for MODIS and MERIS retrieved reflectances with concurrent in situ measurements gave the lowest relative errors in TSM estimates, less than 40%, for MODIS bands 667 nm and 678 nm and for MERIS bands 665 nm and 681 nm. Consistency of the approach in a multisensor context (SeaWiFS, MERIS, and MODIS) is demonstrated both for single point time series and for individual images.  相似文献

We used spaceborne imaging spectroscopy provided by the Earth Observing-1 Hyperion sensor to quantify the relative importance of precipitation and substrate age that control ecosystem development and functioning in Metrosideros polymorpha rainforests of Hawaii. Four hyperspectral vegetation indices provided metrics of forest canopy structure, biochemistry and physiology to compare along gradients of annual rainfall (750 to > 6000 mm year 1) and substrate age (0 to 250,000 years). The canopy greenness index NDVI increased with annual precipitation and substrate age, but saturated in forests with rainfall of 3000 mm year 1. Precipitation and substrate age were roughly equal contributors to the observed greenness of the forests. A canopy water content index (NDWI) also increased with precipitation and substrate age, but did not reach a maximum until very wet (> 5000 mm year 1) forest conditions were encountered on the oldest substrates. The water index appears superior to the NDVI in capturing spatial and climate-substrate driven variations in canopy structure. The photochemical reflectance index (PRI) indicated highest light-use efficiency levels in canopies on the most developed substrates and at annual precipitation levels of 3-4500 mm year 1. A leaf carotenoid index (CRI) suggested a maximum canopy photosynthetic capacity at ∼ 4000 mm rainfall year 1 on the oldest substrates. These results quantify the sensitivity of rainforest canopies to changing precipitation and soil conditions, and they corroborate plot-scale analyses in native Hawaiian forests ecosystems. Structural and functional studies of remote rainforest regions are possible with spaceborne imaging spectroscopy, and could be used to understand the dynamics of rainforests with climate change.  相似文献

An electrochemical genosensor based on 1-fluoro-2-nitro-4-azidobenzene (FNAB) modified octadecanethiol (ODT) self-assembled monolayer (SAM) has been fabricated for Escherichia coli detection. The results of electrochemical response measurements investigated using methylene blue (MB) as a redox indicator reveal that this nucleic acid sensor has 60 s of response time, high sensitivity (0.5 × 10−18 M) and linearity as 0.5 × 10−18-1 × 10−6 M. The sensor has been found to be stable for about four months and can be used about ten times. It is shown that water borne pathogens like Klebsiella pneumonia, Salmonella typhimurium and other gram-negative bacterial samples has no significant effects in the response of this sensor.  相似文献
