We have derived a simple, analytic formula for the prediction of the effective dielectric constant of binary 0-3 composite materials. In comparison with a popular formula in the field (Jayasundere and Smith [1]), it gives the expected asymptotic value for the internal electric field of the inclusions when their total volume fraction tends to one. It is also applicable to the whole range of the volume fraction of the inclusions and is reasonably good for all values of the dielectric constants of the constituents. For non-conductive constituents, it gives effective complex permittivity prediction that fits well to experimental data, out-performs the Jayasundere-Smith formula and a linearized version [2, 3] of the well-known Bruggeman formula.  相似文献

The future Space experiment IVIDIL is planned to study the influence of vibration stimuli on the measurements of diffusion and thermodiffusion coefficients. A binary mixture of water and isopropanol is chosen as a working liquid. The principle of the Space experiment and ground based research are outlined. In addition preparatory experiments might be performed during parabolic flights. Results of 3D numerical simulations of thermal vibrational convection in binary mixture at the conditions of the parabolic flight are presented. Heat and mass transport arising in the system with increasing of vibration actions is discussed.  相似文献

The minimum spouting velocity, Ums, defined for stable external spouting, is found also crucial to ensure good mixing when multi-component particles are involved in spouted beds. In this study, experiments were performed in a cylindrical-conical spouted bed to study the influences of diverse factors on the Ums of a binary system with the cylindrical particles and the spherical bed material. The results showed that the changes in Ums with the particle properties (particle shape, size, and density) and operating conditions were closely related to the blending ratio of the mixture. When the volume fraction of the non-spherical particles was relatively small (less than 40% to 50%), Ums mainly depended on the properties of the bed material. It was considered acceptable to estimate Ums by assuming that the system only consisted of the spherical bed material. Otherwise, the cylindrical particle shape has a significant influence on the flow dynamics and Ums. For such spouting systems, an equivalent diameter of the bed material was proposed to reflect the shape effects of non-spherical particles, whereby Ums would be independent of the blending ratio. Consequently, a novel empirical correlation is proposed to quantitatively predict the Ums of binary mixtures.  相似文献

The present study documents the drug-excipient incompatibility in the physical mixtures and its influence on bulk homogeneity and flowability for dry powder inhalers (DPI) applications. Binary mixtures with the model drugs (aceclofenac; salbutamol sulphate) and lactose monohydrate were prepared separately at varied drug loading (1–33 wt.%), and their physicochemical properties were assessed using various characterization techniques. The DSC, P-XRD and FT-IR studies show a significant shift in the signature peak of drug and excipient while ss-NMR, LC-MS show the absence of peaks. In contrast, new peaks are observed in LC-MS and GC studies. The insights are comprehended through a series of XPS studies. The findings indicated the formation of condensed or addition compound. This is attributed to an interaction between polar protic groups (-NH-, -COOH, -OH) and hemiacetal carbon (HO-C-OR) of drug and excipient in the solid-state. It induces crystal strain and alters bulk properties related to mixing (relative standard deviation, %RSD), cohesion and flow function coefficient (FFC). However, surface modification of excipient using MgSt and aerosil R972 (model nano-particle) eliminates such inter-particle interactions, crystal level changes. It improves the bulk properties of binary mixtures pivotal for DPI performance.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with applying the mixture theory of two chemically inert incompressible Newtonian fluids to some simple unsteady flows in the annular region between two infinitely long coaxial cylinders. The equations governing the motion of the binary mixture under discussion are reduced to a system of coupled partial differential equations. With the help of finite Hankel transforms, the exact solutions of these equations are obtained in series form for the following three problems: (i) unsteady axial Couette flow in an annulus, (ii) unsteady Poiseuille flow in an annulus, (iii) unsteady circular Couette flow in an annulus.  相似文献

We present an approximate analysis of a stochastic laser-beam transfer through a scattering two-component Markovian mixture. We also compare this transfer with a transfer of the beam through an equivalent uniform medium. The problem is considered by use of the so-called small-angle approximation. Within the framework of our approach we obtain some sets of differential equations, defining a total transferred energy and an effective beam size. Our results show that transfer of laser radiation through binary Markovian media differs considerably from transfer through uniform media.  相似文献
