A knowledge based tutoring system is used to support the education of power engineering students. The aim of this project is to make teaching and learning more productive and efficient by employing modern technologies. It seeks to find new methods to teach large numbers of students with no increase in staff. The tutoring system is based on an expert system shell. It provides a functionally interacting set of theory and problems, and supports student progress through monitoring and assessment. This paper describes the development of the tutoring system for teaching electrical engineering subjects, and in particular, fault analysis in power systems. The expert system based software has been successfully used by power engineering students. They found this software easy to use and understand, and it has become an extra teaching tool  相似文献

The design concept and use of the power system toolbox (PST), a Matlab-based power system dynamics simulation and control design package, are discussed. The motivation for developing the package was to provide a flexible environment for teaching power system simulation techniques and control design concepts to advanced undergraduate and graduate students, and for graduate students to perform research and development on power systems. The authors discuss the capabilities of PST and the software development philosophy. Sample applications are given. Some potential educational usage is suggested. In this paper, an introduction to the main design features of a computer-aided educational package addressed to students of the final years of Electronic and Computer Engineering is presented. The software includes interrelated tutorial, computer simulations, and test questions in which graphical outputs, hypertexts, and animations are widely used. The package is devoted to the simulation study of electrooptic and acoustooptic theory and devices. It provides instant numerical evaluation and a graphical display of different studies. The software presented in this paper has all the following features: an integrative character, self-evaluation tests, a personalized and active learning process, adaptability to teacher's aims, versatility as a teaching tool, multimedia resources, and simplicity. This study has been completed with final-year students at the Superior Polytechnic School of Cordoba, Spain, with highly favorable results when compared with students who did not use the software.  相似文献

This paper discusses the approach adopted by the authors for teaching an undergraduate course (lecture and laboratory) in digital controls. Theoretical material is developed in the lecture concerning the application of direct digital control (DDC) to an analog bench-scale system consisting of a DC motor and tachometer. A simulation of the closed-loop control system with embedded digital controller is developed and run by the students using the TUTSIM dynamic simulation language. Finally, students perform a laboratory experiment in which they write a program to control the actual system using a personal computer and inexpensive interface card. The combination of hands-on experience and computer simulation with the more traditional, theoretical lecture material provides a well-rounded learning experience that better prepares the students to implement digital control systems in the real world  相似文献

The protection of power system elements has become more complicated and it is difficult for design engineers to design perfect protection systems. Qualified engineers feel they are under much more pressure at work because they are expected not only to be use their old skills and experience, but must also take in new technological information at the same time. However, expert system technology is a promising approach to help to do some or most design tasks. This paper proposes an expert system for designing the protection system of a transformer by making use of a support tool, OPS83, with a graphical menu and a friendly interface. The developed expert system is applied to the design work of Henan Electric Power Design Institute in China (HEPDIC) to check its operation.  相似文献

With the fast development of computer networks, people can access information and communicate with others without being constrained by space and time. Through network communications, people can discuss things with others to solve their problems. Therefore, how to implement distance cooperative computer-assisted learning (CAL) systems on computer networks becomes an interesting and challenging issue. In this paper, the authors present their work of applying a fuzzy expert system to support the tutoring strategies of a distance cooperative CAL environment. They analyze the special needs for developing CALs in the distance cooperative environment, and define a set of parameters, which is concerned with effectiveness of learning through networks. They also model the behaviors of the students on networks through their online operations. A theoretical framework and some methodologies are proposed based upon the concepts and the techniques of fuzzy expert systems to cope with the problems. A fuzzy expert system is then implemented to guide the students during the learning processes and to help the CAL system to present feasible subject materials to the students. By evaluating their approach with a small group of college freshmen, they conclude that this research is worth further studying  相似文献

针对当前流量计教学中存在的理论讲解过于抽象化、视频展示过于简洁,缺少互动环节,而实物演示教学设备成本太高的问题,设计了流量计三维教学仿真系统.在此系统设计中,以π型管段式超声波流量计为研究对象,首先是利用3DMAX建模工具对其进行三维建模,再将经过渲染处理后的模型导入上位机软件Unity3D中,然后制作能够控制教学展示的下位机系统,最后让下位机系统与上位机系统进行通信,从而实现了超声波流量计的三维动态展示和交互式教学仿真的功能.该系统充分利用虚拟现实技术中的三维建模技术和三维交互技术的优势,给教学带入了真实感,增强了学员学习的积极性,提升了学习效率,缩短了学习周期,降低了教学成本.  相似文献

A Microsoft Windows graphical package to facilitate the teaching and learning of power system symmetrical components is described in this paper. This package is written in Microsoft Visual Basic 3.0. This software calculates and displays graphically, the ABC sequence and the corresponding symmetrical component phasors. Students can manipulate the graphical displays by keyboard input or by mouse operation. This paper describes a successful project using computer animation to teach the concepts of microprogramming to lower division computer science majors. The students write a simulator for the Mic-1 horizontal microcontroller described in the book Structured Computer Organization by Tanenbaum. The simulation is enhanced by the use of a graphical representation of the machine to animate the simulation. This creative use of computer animation enables the students to see the results of their simulation without having to write an extensive user interface. They can concentrate on implementing the instruction cycle, an activity that directly enhances their understanding of microprogramming and the conventional machine level. The XTango animation package is used, making the animation facility portable to any Unix system with an X display. This paper describes a simulation package for performing transient stability study of a power system. The package includes four parts which are a fast decoupled load flow program, a short circuit calculation program, a transient simulation program and a plotting program. The simulation program consists of a coordinator and many modules, each of which simulates a power component, a controller or a physical process. Simulated results can be displayed on the screen by identifying the components and variables. The package is rich in providing modules for nonlinear representations of power components, though user-defined modules can also be easily interfaced into the package. The three data files are designed in such a way that maximum convenience in data preparation is achieved. The package can be used for teaching and doing research related to power system dynamics and control. Application examples and experience gained with the use of the package are discussed  相似文献

The use of the electronic spreadsheet as a modeling and simulation tool in the engineering fields is increasingly popular with an increasing number of tertiary institutions, including spreadsheet as a teaching resource in the core curriculum of these fields. Concurrently, the dramatic improvement in Internet speed allows certain course material to be delivered online, facilitating electronic-learning (E-learning). E-learning frees students from the restriction of time, although they are still largely constrained by space to the nearest wired computer. However, the boundary of computing has expanded with the advance in wireless communication; now numerous handheld mobile devices (e.g., personal digital assistants (PDAs) and cellular phones) are available that will allow computing to be accomplished on the move. In turn, this wireless trend has contributed to move E-learning toward mobile learning (M-learning). Based on the previously mentioned trends, this paper presents the development, implementation, and evaluation of a mobile spreadsheet-based Proportional, Integral, Derivative (PID) control simulation system that aims to enhance the learning of the student in the field of control engineering. The system has been used in an industrial control system course at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. The mobile spreadsheet system developed is able to work with most handheld mobile devices, including the cellular phone. The methods and difficulties (e.g., limited storage space and small screen display of a cellular phone) involved in the development of the system will be duly discussed. Feedback from students that is used to assess the usefulness of the system will be released to share the benefits of such an M-learning system.  相似文献

为了增强船舶轮机学员实际操作的能力,本文结合海运学校的实际要求开发了这套船舶电站仿真系统,主要包括2个主配电板、1个应急配电板和1个负载配电板等.运用VC 集成开发环境模拟了船舶电站配电、同步并车、保护、岸电等涉及到的全部功能并利用RS485总线实现与下位机通信.上位机软件部分除和实际配电板具有相同的板面配置外,另外还有相应的动作流程图和原理图与之对应,并具有与硬件的操作相同步的动画显示功能.整个系统既能对现场硬件实物直接操作,也可通过触摸屏操作软件来控制硬件部分运行工作.  相似文献

针对目前已有的培训仿真系统人工教学指导和手动评价的缺陷,通过总结电力系统运行操作规程,提供了方便的语法规则来描述设备规则和任务规则,利用合理的知识表达方式描述规则之间的逻辑关系,将任务规则灵活地组成各种不同的操作任务,形成不断扩充的规则库,再利用数据库搜索技术将其任务实例化,形成学员操作任务的标准依据。开发了具有实时教学指导和智能评价功能的培训仿真智能评价指导系统,为电力系统运行人员提供了更智能更宽松的仿真操作运行培训环境,具有重要的工程实用价值。  相似文献

大规模风电接入交流输电网使得风电系统表现出越来越多异于常规电网的故障特征,传统继电保护应用于风电接入系统时存在适应性问题。距离保护广泛应用于电力系统输电线路保护,研究其对风电系统适应性意义重大。针对距离保护的适应性问题,首先通过各距离保护的基本原理得出其最佳应用条件,然后基于该条件结合风电系统的一般故障特征从理论上对其适应性进行分析,得到距离保护适应性的一般结论。研究结果表明,风电系统的弱馈性和系统阻抗不稳定性使得基于工频变化量的距离保护不适用于风电接入系统,风电系统的高谐波和频偏特性使得工频量距离保护存在相量提取问题,时域距离保护动作性能良好。仿真结果验证了理论分析的正确性。  相似文献
