本文从教学与推广ＥＤＩ的角度提出了一个有关国际ＥＤＩ模拟系统设计方案，实现了在ＥＤＩ化的贸易环境中模拟进行国际贸易的全过程，即体邮ＥＤＩ又突出了国际贸易的特点。     

Factors affecting the implementation of electronic data interchange in Korea

Although there have been a number of studies of the determinant factors of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) implementation, most studies were carried out in the United States or Europe. The purpose of this study is to identify the determinant factors which affect implementation of EDI systems by Korean companies. Decentralization, EDI standards, technical compatibility, technical support by EDI vendors, education and training and participation of trading partners positively affect the extent of EDI usage. Formalization, technical compatibility, user involvement and participation of trading partners affect EDI integration with internal applications. Top management support and the participation of trading partners promote the extent of EDI operations. This study provides evidence of the effect of important determinant factors such as participation of trading partners and technical compatibility replicating previous EDI studies conducted in that US and Europe. For policy makers ad EDI developers, this study provides insights as to appropriate measures and incentives system designed to encourage EDI and B2B implementation.

Causal knowledge-based design of EDI controls: an explorative study

This paper proposes a causal knowledge-based expert system (CAKES) for modeling and designing electronic data interchange (EDI) controls. The case base of CAKES incorporates environmental, EDI control and EDI implementation factors. The primary reason for designing EDI controls is to promote consideration of the complex causal relationships that exist among various environments and EDI controls. A better understanding of industry, organization, and system characteristics is a necessary prerequisite to design, since it is difficult even for EDI experts to cognitively predict the causal effect of one control on the others. A fuzzy cognitive map is used for building a causal knowledge-base for the design. Initially, structural equation models (SEMs) are used to identify the relevant relationships among the components and to indicate their direction and strength. A casual inference in control design is possible, among environments, EDI controls and EDI implementation, through the CAKES-EDI.

EDI是用户的计算机系统之间的对结构化的、标准化的信息进行自动传输和自动处理的过程。EDI作为一种具有全球性巨大商业贸易价值的电子化平台,具有高速精确,广域巨量的系统优势,EDI的广泛使用正在引领一场全新商业经营模式的革命。计算机应用、通信网络和数据标准化是构成EDI的主要方面。EDI是以通信网络为载体,在计算机终端之间进行的标准化信息传榆过程,信息的最终对象是对方的计算机应用系统,在无需人工干预的情况下,自动处理各种对象之间传榆的信息。在普遍使用EDI的国家和地区,都已获得了可观的经济利益和良好的社会效益。在我国,EDI的实施是关系到提高大中型企业的综合竞争力,推动整个国民经济迅速平稳发展的重点项目。     

A ReScUE XML/EDI model

Since electronic data interchange (EDI) is one of the most important components in electronic commerce and since Extensible Markup Language (XML) provides Internet developers with a powerful vehicle for exchanging messages, XML/EDI has received much attention from almost all well‐known international enterprises and is believed to be the next generation EDI. However, since XML allows developers to design their own elements and attributes, it is almost certain businesses will receive XML documents with unknown elements. Generally, human intervention is required to solve the problem. Therefore, it is indispensable to design an efficient scheme to resolve the unknown elements. In this paper, we propose a ReScUE XML/EDI model such that transformation templates will be generated automatically for documents with unknown elements, and the documents will be converted into expected format. This model increases the flexibility of XML/EDI systems and reduces human intervention. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
