This paper describes the design of a multiuser development facility for special purpose signal processing applications. The facility is currently based up the TMS 32010 signal processing chip but has designed in such a way that other processors may be easily accommodated. The system is supported by the Unix operating system and includes a crossassembler based on the Unix parser generator “Yacc”. The independent component analysis (ICA) method proposed in this study uses FastICA algorithm to improve the quality of the original recordings, which can be used as valuable pre-processing technique in signal processing methods. Initially, the ill-conditioned original audio recordings are separated using ICA methods and later, they are reconstructed using modified un-mixing matrix. The simulation results showed huge improvement of the original signal after reconstruction. The new method is found to be good because the accuracy is more compared to others in terms of the variance of the Gain matrix. -License plate recognition (LPR) is an image processing technology that is used to identify vehicles by their license plates. This paper presents a license plate recognition algorithm for Saudi car plates based on the support vector machine (SVM) algorithm. The new algorithm is efficient in recognizing the vehicles from the Arabic part of the plate. The performance of the system has been investigated and analyzed.
