In this paper, we have reported a simple and rapid approach for the large-scale synthesis of β-Co(OH)2 nanoplatelets via the microwave hydrothermal process using potassium hydroxide as mineralizer at 140 °C for 3 h. Calcining the β-Co(OH)2 nanoplatelets at 350 °C for 2 h, porous Co3O4 nanoplatelets with a 3D quasi-single-crystal framework were obtained. The process of converting the β-Co(OH)2 nanoplatelets into the Co3O4 nanoplatelets is a self-supported topotactic transformation, which is easily controlled by varying the calcining temperature. The textural characteristics of Co3O4 products have strong positive effects on their electrochemical properties as electrode materials in lithium-ion batteries. The obtained porous Co3O4 nanoplatelets exhibit a low initial irreversible loss (18.1%), ultrahigh capacity, and excellent cyclability. For example, a reversible capacity of 900 mAh g−1 can be maintained after 100 cycles.  相似文献

A carbonate co-precipitation method was employed to prepare spherical Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 cathode material. The precursor, [Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]CO3, was prepared using ammonia as chelating agent under CO2 atmosphere. The spherical Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 was prepared by mixing the precalcined [Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]CO3 with LiOH followed by high temperature calcination. The preparation conditions such as ammonia concentration, co-precipitation temperature, calcination temperature and Li/[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3] ratio were varied to optimize the physical and electrochemical properties of the prepared Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2. The structural, morphological, and electrochemical properties of the prepared LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 were characterized by XRD, SEM, and galvanostatic charge-discharge cycling. The optimized material has a spherical particle shape and a well ordered layered structure, and it also has an initial discharge capacity of 162.7 mAh g− 1 in a voltage range of 2.8-4.3 V and a capacity retention of 94.8% after a hundred cycles. The optimized ammonia concentration, co-precipitation temperature, calcination temperature, and Li/[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3] ratio are 0.3 mol L− 1, 60 °C, 850 °C, and 1.10, respectively.  相似文献

A simple approach to synthesize Co3O4 in mass production by using hexamethylenetetramine (HMT, C6H12N4) as a precipitator via hydrothermal treatment has been developed. The samples were calcinated at different temperatures ranging from 300 to 600 °C and characterized by XRD and SEM. The structure became agglomerative and collapsed with an increase in calcination temperature. Evaluation of the electrochemical performance in combination with SEM and BET analysis suggests that there is an optimum calcination temperature for Co3O4. It is found that the retention capacity of well crystallized Co3O4 hollow microspheres has a higher specific surface area at 300 °C and is almost above 94% after the 5th cycle at different current densities of 40 and 60 mA g−1, which shows good long-life stability and favorable electrochemical behaviors. Using EIS analysis, we demonstrated that lithium-ion conduction inside the SEI layers and charge transfer at the electrode/electrolyte interface became hindered with an increased calcination temperature, which was in good agreement with the electrochemical behaviors of three Co3O4 electrodes. It is proposed that drastic capacity fading and the variation of resistive components (SEI layers and charge transfer) can be influenced by morphologies due to the calcination temperature.  相似文献

Synthesis, electrochemical, and structural properties of LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 cathodes prepared by TiO2 nanoparticles coating on a Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05(OH)2 precursor have been investigated by the variation of coating concentration and annealing temperature. TiO2-coated cathodes showed that Ti elements were distributed throughout the particles. Among the coated cathodes, the 0.6 wt% TiO2-coated cathode prepared by annealing at 750 °C for 20 h exhibited the highest reversible capacity of 176 mAh g−1 and capacity retention of 92% after 40 cycles at a rate of 1C (=190 mA g−1). On the other hand, an uncoated cathode showed a reversible first discharge capacity of 186 mAh g−1 and the same capacity retention value to the TiO2-coated sample at a 1C rate. However, under a 1C rate cycling at 60 °C for 30 cycles, the uncoated sample showed a reversible capacity of 40 mAh g−1, while a TiO2-coated one showed 71 mAh g−1. This significant improvement of the coated sample was due to the formation of a possible solid solution between TiO2 and LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2. This effect was more evident upon annealing the charged sample while increasing the annealing temperature, and at 400 °C, the coated one showed a more suppressed formation of the NiO phase from the spinel LiNi2O4 phase than the uncoated sample.  相似文献

The layered Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 powder with good crystalline and spherical shape was prepared by hydroxide co-precipitation method. The effects of pH value, NH4OH amount, calcination temperature and extra Li amount on the morphology, structure and electrochemical properties of the cathode material were investigated in detail. SEM results indicate that pH value affected both the morphology and the property of the cathode material, and the highest discharge capacity in the first cycle of 163 mAh g−1 (2.8-4.3 V) was obtained at pH value was 12. On the contrary, the NH4OH amount, which was used as a chelating agent, only affected the particle size distribution of the material. The calcination temperatures caused great difference in the structure and property of layered Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2, and the best electrochemical properties were obtained at the calcination temperature of 800 °C. Extra Li amount not only caused difference in the material structure, but also affected their electrochemical properties. With increasing Li amount, the lattice parameters (a and c) increased monotonously, and the highest first cycle coulombic efficiency (the ratio of discharge capacity to charge capacity in the first cycle) was obtained with the Li/M of 1.10. Therefore, the optimum synthetic conditions for the hydroxide co-precipitation reaction were: pH value was 12, NH4OH amount was 0.36 mol L−1, calcination temperature was 800 °C and the Li/M molar ratio was 1.10.  相似文献

In attempts to prepare layered Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2, hydrothermal method was employed. The hydrothermal precursor, [Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3](OH)2, was synthesized via a coprecipitation route. The sphere-shaped powder precursor was hydrothermally reacted with LiOH aqueous solution at 170 °C for 4 days in autoclave. From X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopic studies, it was found that the as-hydrothermally prepared powders were crystallized to layered α-NaFeO2 structure and the particles had spherical shape. The as-prepared Li[Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3]O2 delivered an initial discharge of about 110 mA h g−1 due to lower crystallinity. Heat treatment of the hydrothermal product at 800 °C was significantly effective to improve the structural integrity, which consequently affected the increase in the discharge capacity to 157 (4.3 V cut-off) and 182 mA h g−1 (4.6 V cut-off) at 25 °C with good reversibility.  相似文献

Electrochemical and thermal properties of Co3(PO4)2- and AlPO4-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathode materials were compared. AlPO4-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathodes exhibited an original specific capacity of 170.8 mAh g−1 and had a capacity retention (89.1% of its initial capacity) between 4.35 and 3.0 V after 60 cycles at 150 mA g−1. Co3(PO4)2-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathodes exhibited an original specific capacity of 177.6 mAh g−1 and excellent capacity retention (91.8% of its initial capacity), which was attributed to a lithium-reactive Co3(PO4)2 coating. The Co3(PO4)2 coating material could react with LiOH and Li2CO3 impurities during annealing to form an olivine LixCoPO4 phase on the bulk surface, which minimized any side reactions with electrolytes and the dissolution of Ni4+ ions compared to the AlPO4-coated cathode. Differential scanning calorimetry results showed Co3(PO4)2-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathode material had a much improved onset temperature of the oxygen evolution of about 218 °C, and a much lower amount of exothermic-heat release compared to the AlPO4-coated sample.  相似文献

A polymer-pyrolysis method was used to synthesize LiNi0.8Co0.2O2, which has potential application in lithium ion batteries. The effect of calcination temperature and time on the structure and electrochemical performance of the material was investigated. XRD analysis showed that the powders obtained by calcination at 750 °C for 3 h had the best-ordered hexagonal layer structure. SEM image showed these powders were fine, narrowly distributed with platelet morphology. The charge-discharge tests demonstrated these powders had the best electrochemical properties, with an initial discharge capacity of 189 mAh/g and capacity retention of 95.2% after 50 cycles when cycled at 50 mA/g between 3.0 and 4.3 V. Besides, these powders also had exhibited excellent rate capability.  相似文献

A crystalline LiNi0.65Co0.25Mn0.10O2 electrode material was synthesized by the combustion method at 900 °C for 1 h. Rietveld refinement shows less than 3% of Li/Ni disorder in the structure. Lithium extraction involves only the Ni2+/Ni4+ redox couple while Co3+ and Mn4+ remain electrochemically inactive. No structural transition was detected during cycling in the whole composition range 0 < x < 1.0. Furthermore, the hexagonal cell volume changes by only 3% when all lithium was removed indicating a good mechanical stability of the studied compound. LiNi0.65Co0.25Mn0.10O2 has a discharge capacity of 150 mAh/g in the voltage range 2.5-4.5 V, but the best electrochemical performance was obtained with an upper cut-off potential of 4.3 V. Magnetic measurements reveal competing antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic interactions - varying in strength as a function of lithium content - yielding a low temperature magnetically frustrated state. The evolution of the magnetic properties with lithium content confirms the preferential oxidation of Ni ions compared to Co3+ and Mn4+ during the delithiation process.  相似文献

Mixtures of RhOx+Co3O4 have been electrochemically studied by cyclic voltammetry in acid solution as a function of composition. The electrodes were prepared by thermal decomposition at 400 °C of mixtures of nitrate precursors. Their electrochemical behavior shows substantial dependence on the electrode’s composition. The Co site controls the electrochemical behavior of the system in the 5-10 mol.% Rh composition range. A significant increase in the electrodes’ active area is observed for compositions corresponding to more than 10 mol.% RhOx in admixture with Co3O4. Above 10 mol.% Rh, the voltammetric curves become more similar to that for RhOx and then RhOx becomes able to stabilize the Co3O4 in the mixture. Electrodes of this kind have been found to perform as good materials in electrochemical capacitor applications, exhibiting specific capacitances of 500-800 F g−1 over to 20-60 mol.% RhOx composition range. The large specific capacitance exhibited by this system arises from a combination of the double-layer capacitance and the pseudocapacitance associated with Rh surface redox-type reactions.  相似文献

The feasibility of the Pechini method for the preparation of LiNi1/3Mn1/3Co1/3O2 with characteristics appropriate for Li-ion battery positive electrodes was investigated. The method involves formation of one single chemically homogenous precursor material and thus permits reduced calcination times and minimal lithium evaporation. The physical and electrochemical properties of the materials were investigated with variation in final calcination temperature. Chemical analysis showed that the materials could be prepared with high crystallinity and yet little or no loss of lithium. The material calcined at 1000 °C showed the highest specific capacity—180 mAh g−1 when cycled between 4.5 and 3 V, and it maintained its capacity over 50 cycles. The advantage of this material over those prepared at 800 and 900 °C can probably be attributed to the fact that the degree of crystallinity, crystallite size and size of the primary particles increase with calcination temperature, and that the powder attains a more suitable morphology which promotes electronic connectivity to all of the oxide material. A temperature above 1000 °C should however not be used as indicated by an abrupt change in lattice parameters and decrease in electronic conductivity when going from 1000 to 1050 °C. The Pechini method presents an attractive option for the preparation of LiNi1/3Mn1/3Co1/3O2 positive electrode material.  相似文献

Cobalt oxide (Co3O4) nanotubes have been successfully synthesized by chemically depositing cobalt hydroxide in anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates and thermally annealing at 500 °C. The synthesized nanotubes have been characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The electrochemical capacitance behavior of the Co3O4 nanotubes electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge studies and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in 6 mol L−1 KOH solution. The electrochemical data demonstrate that the Co3O4 nanotubes display good capacitive behavior with a specific capacitance of 574 F g−1 at a current density of 0.1 A g−1 and a good specific capacitance retention of ca. 95% after 1000 continuous charge-discharge cycles, indicating that the Co3O4 nanotubes can be promising electroactive materials for supercapacitor.  相似文献

Co3O4/RuO2·xH2O composites with various Ru content (molar content of Ru = 5%, 10%, 20%, 50%) were synthesized by one-step co-precipitation method. The precursors were prepared via adjusting pH of the mixed aqueous solutions of Co(NO3)2·6H2O and RuCl3·0.5H2O by using Pluronic123 as a soft template. For the composite with molar ratio of Co:Ru = 1:1 annealed at 200 °C, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) results indicated that the composite showed mesoporous structure, and the specific surface area of the composite was as high as 107 m2 g−1. The electrochemical performances of these composites were measured in 1 M KOH electrolyte. Compared with the composite prepared without template, the composite with P123 exhibited a higher specific capacitance. When the molar content of Ru was rising, the specific capacitance of the composites increased significantly. It was also observed that the crystalline structures as well as the electrochemical activities were strongly dependent on the annealing temperature. A capacitance of 642 F/g was obtained for the composite (Co:Ru = 1:1) annealed at 150 °C. Meanwhile, the composites also exhibited good cycle stability. Besides, the morphologies and textural characteristic of the samples were also investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM).  相似文献

Layered LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 materials were synthesized at different sintering temperatures using spray-drying precursor with molar ratio of Li/Me = 1.04 (Me = transition metals). The influences of sintering temperature on crystal structure, morphology and electrochemical performance of LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 materials have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and charge-discharge test. As a result, material synthesized at 850 °C has excellent electrochemical performance, delivering an initial discharge capacity of 173.1 mAh g− 1 between 2.8 and 4.3 V at a current density of 16 mA g− 1 and exhibiting good cycling performance.  相似文献

Uniform hexagonal-shaped cobalt oxide (Co3O4) nanodisks were prepared in large scale via facile aqueous solution based hydrothermal process at 110 °C. The detailed structural characterizations confirmed that the synthesized products are hexagonal cobalt oxide nanodisks, possessing very well-crystalline cubic spinel structure. A coin cell of type −2032 was assembled using the synthesized Co3O4 nanodisks and its charge–discharge profile was analyzed between the voltages 0.01 and to 2.5 V vs. Li/Li+ reference electrode. The electrochemical cell composed of Li/Co3O4 delivered an initial lithium insertion capacity of 2039 mAh/g. Although the cell exhibited high irreversible capacity during the first four cycles, the columbic efficiency has been improved upon cycling.  相似文献

High-voltage LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 spinels were synthesized by a low temperature solution combustion method at 400 °C, 600 °C and 800 °C for 3 h. The phase composition, structural disordering, micro-morphologies and electrochemical properties of the products were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and constant current charge–discharge test. XRD analysis indicated that single phase LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 powders with disordered Fd-3m structures were obtained by the method at 400 °C, 600 °C and 800 °C. The crystallinity increased with increasing preparation temperatures. XRD and FTIR data indicated that the degree of structural disordering in the product prepared at 800 °C was the largest and in the product prepared at 600 °C was the least. SEM investigation demonstrated that the particle size and the crystal perfection of the products were increased with increasing temperatures. The particles of the product prepared at 600 °C with ~200 nm in size are well developed and homogeneously distributed. Charge/discharge curves and cycling performance tests at different current density indicated that the product prepared at 600 °C had the largest specific capacity and the best cycling performance, due to its high purity, high crystallinity, small particle size as well as moderate amount of Mn3+ ions.  相似文献

In order to get homogeneous layered oxide Li[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]O2 as a lithium insertion positive electrode material, we applied the metal acetates decomposition method. The oxide compounds were calcined at various temperatures, which results in greater difference in morphological (shape, particle size and specific surface area) and the electrochemical (first charge profile, reversible capacity and rate capability) differences. The Li[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]O2 powders were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), charge/discharge cycling, cyclic voltammetry and SEM. XRD experiment revealed that the layered Li[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]O2 material can be best synthesized at temperature of 800 °C. In that synthesized temperature, the sample showed high discharge capacity of 190 mAh g−1 as well as stable cycling performance at a current density of 0.2 mA cm−2 in the voltage range 2.3-4.6 V. The reversible capacity after 100 cycles is more than 190 mAh g−1 at room temperature.  相似文献

Co3O4 nanoparticle samples were prepared as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries by the hydrothermal synthesis method without magnetic field (Co3O4-0T), under pulsed magnetic field (Co3O4-4T), and by using an aging technique (Co3O4-Aging), respectively. The morphology and structural properties of the Co3O4 nanoparticles were investigated by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). FE-SEM measurements demonstrated that the Co3O4 sample formed under a 4 T magnetic field consisted of large agglomerated spheres composed of numerous quasi-spherical nanoparticles with a typical diameter of ∼25 nm and had more compact and smoother surfaces compared to a reference sample prepared without magnetic field. After the aging process, large Co3O4 hollow spheres composed of numerous spherical nanoparticles with a typical diameter of ∼20 nm were formed. Electrochemical measurements showed that Co3O4 materials prepared by the aging technique (Co3O4-Aging) yielded the best electrochemical performance compared with the other samples. Capacities were maintained at 274, 348, and 407 mAh g−1 up to 100 cycles for the Co3O4-0T, Co3O4-4T, and Co3O4-Aging materials, which are about 26, 27, and 30% of initial discharge capacities, respectively. The capacity loss is in the order of Co3O4-Aging < Co3O4-4T < Co3O4-0T. Thus, the morphology affects not only the discharge capacity, but also the cycling stability of Li-ion batteries.  相似文献

Non-spherical Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 powders have been synthesized using a two-step drying method with 5% excess LiOH at 800 °C for 20 h. The tap-density of the powder obtained is 2.95 g cm−3. This value is remarkably higher than that of the Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 powders obtained by other methods, which range from 1.50 g cm−3 to 2.40 g cm−3. The precursor and Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 are characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). XPS studies show that the predominant oxidation states of Ni, Co and Mn in the precursor are 2+, 3+ and 4+, respectively. XRD results show that the Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 material obtained by the two-step drying method has a well-layered structure with a small amount of cation mixing. SEM confirms that the Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 particles obtained by this method are uniform. The initial discharge capacity of 167 mAh g−1 is obtained between 3 V and 4.3 V at a current of 0.2 C rate. The capacity of 159 mAh g−1 is retained at the end of 30 charge-discharge cycle with a capacity retention of 95%.  相似文献

Three dimensionally ordered macroporous (3DOM) Li4Ti5O12 membrane (80 μm thick) was prepared by a colloidal crystal templating process. Colloidal crystal consisting of monodisperse polystyrene particles (1 μm diameter) was used as the template for the preparation of macroporous Li4Ti5O12. A precursor sol consisting of titanium isopropoxide and lithium acetate was impregnated into the void space of template, and it was calcined at various temperatures. A macroporous membrane of Li4Ti5O12 with inverse-opal structure was successfully prepared at 800 °C. The interconnected pores with uniform size (0.8 μm) were clearly observed on the entire part of membrane. The electrochemical properties of the three dimensionally ordered Li4Ti5O12 were characterized with cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge and discharge in an organic electrolyte containing a lithium salt. The 3DOM Li4Ti5O12 exhibited a discharge capacity of 160 mA h g−1 at the electrode potential of 1.55 V versus Li/Li+ due to the solid state redox of Ti3+/4+ accompanying with Li+ ion insertion and extraction. The discharge capacity was close to the theoretical capacity (167 mA h g−1), which suggested that the Li+ ion insertion and extraction took place at the entire part of 3DOM Li4Ti5O12 membrane. The 3DOM Li4Ti5O12 electrode showed good cycle stability.  相似文献
