Rural areas play a crucial role in addressing challenges related to climate change, food provision, biomass, and energy. At the same time, digital solutions have proven essential in improving safety, quality of life, and resilience in daily life. However, the lower population density and the lack of digital infrastructure in such rural areas make it difficult to develop technology-driven private businesses and public services. This can negatively impact socio-economic indicators and hinder the development of new services to cover peoples’ needs. For this reason, in this document, we seek to provide a stronger focus on rural regions in digitalization efforts and create new opportunities for rural communities. For that, we analyze the barriers and needs of the rural environment and present AURORAL, a digital service platform designed to meet the needs and contexts of rural areas. This ecosystem, comprising sustainable and multi-interoperable apps and services, can help communities succeed in innovation and smart transformation, providing the necessary infrastructure to facilitate long-lasting social, environmental, and economic benefits by prioritizing openness, interoperability, and decentralization. On the principle that the full potential of these technologies can only be realized when they are integrated into societal and economic activity and organization, AURORAL aims to promote economic growth and digitalization in the rural domain and contribute to bridging the digital divide between rural and urban areas. 相似文献

Legal empowerment is a central pillar of the law and development agenda and as such is the focus of many interventions. However, there are many challenges in relation to measurement for impact assessment and project appraisal. In particular the comparison of activities aimed at improving legal empowerment is difficult due to a lack of a measure that is applicable to different activities. This paper presents a model of subjective legal empowerment (SLE). SLE allows measurement of legal empowerment that is comparable across different groups, interventions and experience levels. A literature review and theoretical exploration look at the challenges to measurement of legal empowerment followed by an examination of the strengths and weaknesses of the SLE model. SLE is found to be a measure that can overcome many of the difficulties inherent in comparison to different legal empowerment interventions, with different groups, in different contexts. 相似文献

The aim of this paper is to identify the socioeconomic and demographic factors that stimulate Internet adoption and use among Mexico's rural population. Using an econometric model to deal with potential selection bias problems, and information from Mexico's National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies in Households (ENDUTIH), our results suggest that the probability of using the Internet is higher for people who have digital skills and for women. Internet usage patterns differ by age, educational level, employment type, and geographic location. Young people are more likely to take part in online activities for entertainment purposes, while people of working age go online for information, communication, and e-commerce-related activities. These findings provide evidence on the existing digital divide in terms of Internet penetration and usage in Mexico's rural sector, which is in the early stages of Internet diffusion. 相似文献

目的 在文旅融合的背景下,以川西南民族文化艺术资源向文化旅游资源转化为主要目的,对川西南地区以纸本保存的图像文化遗存进行研究和数字化修复,探索其活化的路径和方法。方法 从四川冕宁、石棉、九龙、木里、大小凉山等地区采集超过400张纸本经图资料,对这些图像文献的宗教背景和文化内涵进行研究,再以数字化的方式对其进行修复与再现,并根据数字化后的文化符号在当地景区进行了设计实践。结论 川西南大量的纸本经图是具有深刻文化内涵和重要艺术价值的民族文化符号。通过数字化的方法对这些经图进行重现,并且赋予其现代审美和设计的意味,最终形成以旅游为平台的文化传播产品,是民族文化与旅游行为有机结合的一次探索和尝试。 相似文献

In the wake of digitalization it is increasingly debated whether developing countries can achieve economic prosperity through industrialization in the same manner as developed countries did. At the same time, developing countries have high hopes for digital technologies to drive the transformation of the economy towards prosperity. Literature on structural change views technology as one driver of employment shifts between economic sectors, but underlying mechanisms are often overlooked. Similarly, evidence on digitalization highlights its impacts on employment, but the causes and effects require further investigation. As a consequence, both strands of literature benefit from an integrated perspective on structural change and digitalization, which has largely been lacking. Hence, we pose the following research question: What are potential linkages between structural change and digitalization? Based on a review of the existing literature we identify the drivers of structural change as well as the economic impacts of digitalization on these drivers. We then elaborate on linkages between both strands of literature, showing that digitalization impacts the drivers of structural change in various ways. Evidence suggests that digitalization is likely to affect relative sectoral productivity, but it is questionable whether destinations of subsequent labor movements (e.g. towards traditional services) will equally benefit from technological progress. Moreover, the skill bias of digital technologies may be a risk not only for equitable income gains, but also for inter-firm linkages. Our review further implies that digitalization fosters the servicification of manufacturing and presents opportunities for developing countries to diversify in traded goods and services. However, it is contested if digitalization facilitates better positioning of developing countries in global markets, or if it narrows the scope for their participation and upgrading opportunities in global value chains due to relatively larger benefits for developed countries. We thus highlight various differences between developed and developing countries in the ability to benefit from digitalization. Future studies can empirically test the proposed linkages to reveal technology-, country- and industry-specific interactions between processes of structural change and digitalization. 相似文献

Digital workplace transformation goes beyond the adoption or non-adoption of technologies – it has far deeper effects in the context of re-designing a workplace. Future digital work implies not only a change of tools used in work activities, but it also often changes the very nature of the working activities and processes. Psychological needs of employees are important in this context: the need for autonomy, competence, and relatedness which affect the employees' motivation to accept the future workplace. More specifically, if employees have expectations that digital environment will enable them to accomplish better performance, bigger satisfaction and personal well-being more easily, they will be more motivated to support digital transformation. Thus, in our study we aim to investigate whether employee involvement, well-being and support to digital work foster digital transformation of the workplace. In doing so, we close the existing gap in literature and confirm that interpersonal relatedness in digital work environment has a significant influence on employees' performance and well-being. This, in turn, increases employees’ intentions to support digital workplace transformation. We believe this study will help pre-digital organizations to rethink their strategies according to employee involvement to respond to the challenges of digital transformation. The study also encourages scholars to investigate whether and how those factors are shaped differently due to COVID-19 pandemic context. 相似文献

The paper assesses the ways in which digital transformation in Montenegro influences the use of digital marketing in business, determining the impact of this concept on promotion and brand positioning, i.e. electronic business development through electronic services. This facilitates the integrated analysis of the context of electronic business, thus providing innovative and value-creating insights for Montenegro – a transition country. This research was conducted using a survey on a stratified random sample and the data was subsequently analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM), Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test, and eta-coefficient. Multivariate analysis was applied to data obtained from 172 companies. The results showed that a number of factors determine the ways in which companies apply digital marketing and use differing levels of influence, amongst which the period of implementation, the abilities of people in charge for its usage, perception of digital marketing cost-effectiveness, measurability of its effects and sufficiency of traditional marketing have a key role. The period in which digital marketing is used was especially significant and notably affects the choice of digital marketing instruments, the way its performances are measured and the managers’ perception of its cost-effectiveness. Social networks were the most commonly used form of digital marketing in the market under analysis, and Google analytics was the most common way to measure the effects of digital marketing. Furthermore, the results showed that the more a company relies on the use of digital marketing in its business, the more significant its impact on promotion and brand positioning. 相似文献

During the last years, the impacts caused by digital transformation on companies have been disruptive. Contrarily to prior technological revolutions, the current scenario is characterized by the rapid growth of innovation that has impacted organizations differently. In particular, an increasing number of organizations revised their management control systems to adequate their business models to the external pressures made by competitors and regulators. The research aims consist of a bibliometric analysis about the impacts caused by digital transformation on managerial auditing. The research reveals the existence of four independent research area: continuous auditing (Green Cluster), fraud detection (Blue Cluster), data analytics (Yellow Cluster) and technological innovation (Red Cluster). Adaptability is currently one of the most challenging research topics. The Department of Factory Planning and Factory Management of Chemnitz University of Technology developed the Experimental and Digital Factory in which building blocks for adaptable factory systems are integrated. Hence, a powerful model factory is available for research on adaptability. The focus among others is on the continuous interaction between factory planning and factory operation. This includes an extensive interchange and processing of information between the virtual and the real factory. The rapid implementation and verification of planning results in the real environment is enabled by holistic application and integration of different methods and tools of the Digital Factory. The paper explains a concept for adaptable factory systems and the interplay of planning and operation. Globally, digital payments and their applications have prospered. However, few researchers have sought to look at users’ adoption behaviour of digital payments, especially among rural residents. Additionally, a majority of the researchers employed a single theoretical framework nation to investigate this behaviour. Considering these two issues as a research gap, this study uses the UTAUT-2 framework to analyze the key factors that contribute to a behavioural intention to use digital payment systems among the rural residents, extended with perceived security and epistemic value as other influencing factors. This study employed a cross-sectional design with survey research as its research approach. The proposed conceptual model was tested using partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis on 402 samples with no issues of non-response bias (NRB) and common method bias (CMB). The results indicated that the UTAUT-2 constructs and its extended constructs were positively significantly influencing the behavioural intention with 79.7% of variance explained, where social influence, effort expectancy and epistemic value are the top three constructs that influence the behavioural intention. The outcomes would also be advantageous to the relevant stakeholders in developing and designing strategies to effectively encourage more individuals to adopt digital payment systems, especially among the rural residents. 相似文献

The integration of digital technologies and processes presents a multifaceted and complex challenge for family firms, as they must navigate new technologies while maintaining their unique familial attribute. Moreover, the issue of intergenerational inheritance adds an additional layer of complexity, as succession must be effectively executed to ensure the continued success and survival of the family firm in the digital age. Together, these challenges pose a significant threat to the sustainability and competitiveness of family firms. To gain a deeper understanding of how these challenges can be effectively addressed, the study utilizes data from the 2016 Chinese Private Enterprises Survey to identify the factors influencing family firms' digital transformation and the role of entrepreneurs' characteristics in this process. From the perspective of intergenerational inheritance, the study finds that both the willingness of entrepreneurs to hand over power and the willingness of their children to take over firm power have a moderating effect on the relationships between entrepreneurs' characteristics and firms’ digital transformations. This study also verifies the heterogeneous effects from the type of business digitalization, location of the firm, and educational level of the children. 相似文献

Afghanistan has been a commercial bridge between Asia and Europe since the earliest times in history. Due to its geopolitical position, many civilizations have fought to seize this geography. Today, this fate of history has not changed so much. War and terror have always existed in Afghanistan since the early 1980s. Sustainable Development Goals and the infrastructure improvements needed to achieve these goals can be a future and hope for Afghanistan. In this context, an industrial sustainable development strategy for Afghanistan needs to be implemented urgently. This should be started in Herat Province, where has the high potential of economic and commercial provinces of Afghanistan. This study aims to explore and analyze the feasible industrial sustainable development strategies relevant to socio-technical theory, which can also be the main contributor to rural development, for the Herat province of Afghanistan. In the study, we employ a quantitative research method. The necessary data was collected from a questionnaire, which was formulated as a result of a comprehensive literature review. A survey study on the field was conducted on a sample of 250 artisans of Herat Province. Exporting of domestic goods and products to the neighborhood and other countries through the creation of land and air transportation routes; creating job opportunities through encouraging and supporting of domestic and foreign investors in industrial field; training of professional and specialized cadres and raising the capacity of entrepreneurs by creating educational, vocational and technical centers; reduction of products costs such as electricity and fuel for investors through the creation of internal energy sources and construction of dams without harming natural and environmental resources have been recommended to implement in the Herat Province, respectively. 相似文献

This study develops a theoretical model that highlights the determinants of actual social media (SM) usage for travel planning by combining theoretical frameworks from the marketing, psychology and information systems literature. The data was collected through field as well as online survey in India. An online survey questionnaire link was shared on different social media platforms and social networking sites. Besides, field visits were carried out to collect data in-person through face-to-face interviews. The final sample consists of 539 observations. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was applied to validate the hypothesized relationships among constructs. The results suggest that technological convenience and perceived enjoyment influence the perceived ease of using SM for travel planning. In turn, perceived ease of use impacts perceived usefulness, along with media richness. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, along with trust positively influence intentions to use SM for travel planning, while perceived risk inhibits those intentions. However, trust increases perceived usefulness and mitigates perceived risk. Importantly, intentions exert a strong impact on actual use. This study contributes to the literature by presenting and validating a theory-driven framework that unveils the factors influencing actual usage of SM for travel planning. The proposed theoretical framework emphasizes the key relationships among factors and provides a research basis for development in other contexts. 相似文献

The top management team (TMT) plays a key role in the process of the firm digital transformation. However, few studies have focused on the impact of TMT characteristics on the digital orientation of firms. In this paper, we simultaneously explore the impact of the dispersion, aggregation, and background characteristics of TMT on the digital orientation of firms. Based on the upper echelons theory and strategic orientation theory, we propose that the diversity and average education level of TMT positively impact firms' digital orientation. The average age and tenure of TMT have a negative impact on the digital orientation of firms. The overseas and financial backgrounds of TMT members have a positive impact on the digital orientation of firms. Our hypothesis was tested using large-scale longitudinal data and computer-aided text analysis methods from Chinese listed companies. This paper provides useful supplements to early research on digital driving factors and digital orientation in emerging economies, and also provides more universal suggestions for digital practices in firms. 相似文献
