In this article, a distributed fault detection and isolation (FDI) method is developed for a class of interconnected nonlinear uncertain systems. In the distributed FDI architecture, a FDI component is designed for each subsystem in the interconnected system. For each subsystem, its corresponding local FDI component is designed by utilising local measurements and certain communicated information from neighbouring FDI components associated with subsystems that are directly interconnected to the particular subsystem under consideration. Under certain assumptions, adaptive thresholds for distributed FDI in each subsystem are derived, ensuring robustness with respect to interactions among subsystems and system modelling uncertainty. Moreover, the fault detectability and isolability conditions are rigorously investigated, characterising the class of faults in each subsystem that are detectable and isolable by the proposed distributed FDI method. Additionally, the stability and learning capability of the local adaptive fault isolation estimators designed for each subsystem is established. A simulation example of interconnected inverted pendulums mounted on carts is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

This paper investigates the decentralized fault detection and isolation (FDI) problem for Markovian jump interconnected systems with unknown interconnections. Different from the existing decentralized FDI approaches, the requirement for access to operation modes of all subsystems, which is unreasonable and hard to meet in realistic applications, is removed. By utilizing local measurements and neighboring mode information, a decentralized FDI filter is constructed to generate a residual for each subsystem of Markovian jump interconnected system. Then, a new design method is developed such that the resulting augmented system is stochastically stable and the generated residual is sensitive to local fault. In addition, the proposed method can achieve fault detection and isolation simultaneously. Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and merits of the new results. This paper presents a distributed fault diagnosis scheme able to deal with process and sensor faults in an integrated way for a class of interconnected input–output nonlinear uncertain discrete-time systems. A robust distributed fault detection scheme is designed, where each interconnected subsystem is monitored by its respective fault detection agent, and according to the decisions of these agents, further information regarding the type of the fault can be deduced. As it is shown, a process fault occurring in one subsystem can only be detected by its corresponding detection agent whereas a sensor fault in a subsystem can be detected by either its corresponding detection agent or the detection agent of another subsystem that is affected by the subsystem where the sensor fault occurred. This discriminating factor is exploited for the derivation of a high-level isolation scheme. Moreover, process and sensor fault detectability conditions characterising quantitatively the class of detectable faults are derived. Finally, a simulation example is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed distributed fault detection scheme.  相似文献

This technical note deals with the problem of designing a distributed fault detection methodology for distributed (and possibly large-scale) nonlinear dynamical systems that are modelled as the interconnection of several subsystems. The subsystems are allowed to overlap, thus sharing some state components. For each subsystem, a local fault detector is designed, based on the measured local state of the subsystem as well as the transmitted variables of neighboring states that define the subsystem interconnections. The local detection decision is made on the basis of the knowledge of the local subsystem dynamic model and of an adaptive approximation of the interconnection with neighboring subsystems. The use of a specially-designed consensus-based estimator is proposed in order to improve the detectability of faults affecting variables shared among different subsystems. Simulation results provide an evidence of the effectiveness of the proposed distributed fault detection scheme.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel decentralized fault tolerant controller (DFTC) is proposed for interconnected nonlinear continuous-time systems by using local subsystem state vector alone in contrast with traditional distributed fault tolerant controllers or fault accommodation schemes where the measured or the estimated state vector of the overall system is needed. The proposed decentralized controller uses local state and input vectors and minimizes the fault effects on all the subsystems. The DFTC in each subsystem includes a traditional controller term and a neural network based online approximator term which is used to deal with the unknown parts of the system dynamics, such as fault and interconnection terms. The stability of the overall system with the proposed DFTC is investigated by using Lyapunov approach and the boundedness of all signals is guaranteed in the presence of a fault. Therefore, the proposed controller enables the system to continue its normal operation after the occurrence of a fault, as long as it does not cause failure or break down of a component. Although the decentralized fault tolerant controller is designed mainly for large-scale systems where continuous transmissions between subsystems is not possible, it can also be applied to small-scale systems where sensor measurements are available for use in all subsystems. Finally the proposed methods are verified and compared in simulation environment.  相似文献

This article is concerned with the problem of fault detection and isolation (FDI) for discrete-time switched linear systems based on the average dwell-time method. The proposed FDI framework consists of a bank of FDI filters, which are divided into N groups for N subsystems. The FDI filters belonging to one group correspond to the faults for a subsystem, and generate a residual signal to guarantee the fault sensitivity performance for the subsystem, the fault attenuation performance for other subsystems and the disturbance attenuation performance for all subsystems. Different form employing the weighting matrices to restrict the frequency ranges of faults for each subsystem, the finite-frequency H ? performance for switched systems is first defined. Sufficient conditions are established by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and the filter gains are characterised in terms of the solution of a convex optimisation problem. Two examples are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method.  相似文献

A robust decentralized model reference adaptive controller is proposed for a class of large-scale systems composed of several interconnected subsystems and described by state space equations. We have formulated a local adaptive controller for each subsystem using only local information such that the state of this subsystem tracks the corresponding state of a reference model. The content of the paper is limited to interconnected subsystems which are described by linear, deterministic, single-input single-output and discrete-time models with unknown and/or slowly time-varying parameters. Sufficient conditions, formulated by utilizing Lyapunov theory, are given for the overall system to be stabilizable by decentralized state feedback adaptive control laws. The results are illustrated by a numerical example.  相似文献

This paper presents a distributed integrated fault diagnosis and accommodation scheme for leader‐following formation control of a class of nonlinear uncertain second‐order multi‐agent systems. The fault model under consideration includes both process and actuator faults, which may evolve abruptly or incipiently. The time‐varying leader communicates with a small subset of follower agents, and each follower agent communicates to its directly connected neighbors through a bidirectional network with possibly asymmetric weights. A local fault diagnosis and accommodation component are designed for each agent in the distributed system, which consists of a fault detection and isolation module and a reconfigurable controller module comprised of a baseline controller and two adaptive fault‐tolerant controllers, activated after fault detection and after fault isolation, respectively. By using appropriately the designed Lyapunov functions, the closed‐loop stability and asymptotic convergence properties of the leader‐follower formation are rigorously established under different modes of the fault‐tolerant control system.  相似文献

This paper presents a robust fault detection and isolation (FDI) scheme for a general class of nonlinear systems using a neural-network-based observer strategy. Both actuator and sensor faults are considered. The nonlinear system considered is subject to both state and sensor uncertainties and disturbances. Two recurrent neural networks are employed to identify general unknown actuator and sensor faults, respectively. The neural network weights are updated according to a modified backpropagation scheme. Unlike many previous methods developed in the literature, our proposed FDI scheme does not rely on availability of full state measurements. The stability of the overall FDI scheme in presence of unknown sensor and actuator faults as well as plant and sensor noise and uncertainties is shown by using the Lyapunov's direct method. The stability analysis developed requires no restrictive assumptions on the system and/or the FDI algorithm. Magnetorquer-type actuators and magnetometer-type sensors that are commonly employed in the attitude control subsystem (ACS) of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites for attitude determination and control are considered in our case studies. The effectiveness and capabilities of our proposed fault diagnosis strategy are demonstrated and validated through extensive simulation studies.  相似文献

An approximation based adaptive neural decentralized output tracking control scheme for a class of large-scale unknown nonlinear systems with strict-feedback interconnected subsystems with unknown nonlinear interconnections is developed in this paper. Within this scheme, radial basis function RBF neural networks are used to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions of the subsystems. An adaptive neural controller is designed based on the recursive backstepping procedure and the minimal learning parameter technique. The proposed decentralized control scheme has the following features. First, the controller singularity problem in some of the existing adaptive control schemes with feedback linearization is avoided. Second, the numbers of adaptive parameters required for each subsystem are not more than the order of this subsystem. Lyapunov stability method is used to prove that the proposed adaptive neural control scheme guarantees that all signals in the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded, while tracking errors converge to a small neighborhood of the origin. The simulation example of a two-spring interconnected inverted pendulum is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.  相似文献

This paper presents a new scheme for fault detection and isolation in a satellite system. The purpose of this paper is to develop detection, isolation and identification algorithms based on a cascade filter for both total and partial faults in a satellite attitude control system (ACS). The cascade filter consists of a decentralized Kalman filter (DKF) and a bank of interacting multiple model (IMM) filters. The cascade filter is utilized for detection and diagnosis of anticipated sensor and actuator faults in a satellite ACS. Other fault detection and isolation (FDI) schemes are compared with the proposed FDI scheme. The FDI procedure using a cascade filter was developed in three stages. In the first stage, two local filters and a master filter detect sensor faults. In the second stage, the FDI scheme checks sensor residuals to isolate sensor faults, and 11 Extended Kalman filters with actuator fault models detect wherever actuator faults occur. In the third stage of the FDI scheme, four filters identify the fault type, which is either a total or partial fault. An important feature of the proposed FDI scheme is that it can decrease fault isolation time and accomplish not only fault detection and isolation but also fault type identification using a scalar penalty in the conditional density function.  相似文献

In this work, we propose a distributed adaptive high‐gain extended Kalman filtering approach for nonlinear systems. Specifically, we consider a class of nonlinear systems that are composed of several subsystems interacting with each other via their states. In the proposed approach, an adaptive high‐gain extended Kalman filter is designed for each subsystem. The distributed Kalman filters communicate with each other to exchange estimated subsystem state information. First, assuming continuous communication among the distributed filters within deterministic form of subsystems, an implementation strategy that specifies how the distributed filters should communicate is designed and the detailed design of the subsystem filter is described. Second, we consider the case of stochastic subsystems for which the designed subsystem filters communicate to exchange information at discrete‐time instants. A state predictor in each subsystem filter is used to provide predictions of states of other subsystems. The stability properties of the proposed distributed estimation schemes with both continuous and discrete communications are analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed schemes are illustrated via the application to a chemical process example. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper presents a new fault tolerant controller design method for a class of interconnected non‐Gaussian stochastic distribution system with boundary conditions. In order to obtain the fault estimation value, an observer based fault detection and fault diagnosis algorithms are presented at first, then a collaborative fault tolerant controller is designed based on the adaptive control strategy. Different from most of the existing fault tolerant controllers, when fault occurs the controller need to be reconstructed is for the healthy subsystem in this paper. That is to say, the fault is compensated not by the faulty subsystem itself but by the healthy one. The proposed method is used to a simulation example for demonstration, and the effectiveness is verified.  相似文献

In many applications, the system dynamics allows the decomposition into lower dimensional subsystems with interconnections among them. This decomposition is motivated by the ease and flexibility of the controller design for each subsystem. In this paper,a decentralized model reference adaptive iterative learning control scheme is developed for interconnected systems with model uncertainties. The interconnections in the dynamic equations of each subsystem are considered with unknown boundaries. The proposed controller of each subsystem depends only on local state variables without any information exchange with other subsystems. The adaptive parameters are updated along iteration axis to compensate the interconnections among subsystems. It is shown that by using the proposed decentralized controller, the states of the subsystems can track the desired reference model states iteratively.Simulation results demonstrate that, utilizing the proposed adaptive controller, the tracking error for each subsystem converges along the iteration axis.  相似文献
