Robust fuzzy control for a plant with fuzzy linear model   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
A robust complexity reduced proportional-integral-derivative (PID)-like fuzzy controllers is designed for a plant with fuzzy linear model. The plant model is described with the expert's linguistic information involved. The linguistic information for the plant model is represented as fuzzy sets. In order to design a robust fuzzy controller for a plant model with fuzzy sets, an approach is developed to implement the best crisp approximation of fuzzy sets into intervals. Then, Kharitonov's Theorem is applied to construct a robust fuzzy controller for the fuzzy uncertain plant with interval model. With the linear combination of input variables as a new input variable, the complexity of the fuzzy mechanism of PID-like fuzzy controller is significantly reduced. The parameters in the robust fuzzy controller are determined to satisfy the stability conditions. The robustness of the designed fuzzy controller is discussed. Also, with the provided definition of relative robustness, the robustness of the complexity reduced fuzzy controller is compared to the classical PID controller for a second-order plant with fuzzy linear model. The simulation results are included to show the effectiveness of the designed PID-like robust fuzzy controller with the complexity reduced fuzzy mechanism.  相似文献

In this paper, a robust fractional-order controller is designed to control the congestion in transmission control protocol (TCP) networks with time-varying parameters. Fractional controllers can increase the stability and robustness. Regardless of advantages of fractional controllers, they are still not common in congestion control in TCP networks. The network parameters are time-varying, so the robust stability is important in congestion controller design. Therefore, we focused on the robust controller design. The fractional PID controller is developed based on active queue management (AQM). D-partition technique is used. The most important property of designed controller is the robustness to the time-varying parameters of the TCP network. The vertex quasi-polynomials of the closed-loop characteristic equation are obtained, and the stability boundaries are calculated for each vertex quasi-polynomial. The intersection of all stability regions is insensitive to network parameter variations, and results in robust stability of TCP/AQM system. NS-2 simulations show that the proposed algorithm provides a stable queue length. Moreover, simulations show smaller oscillations of the queue length and less packet drop probability for FPID compared to PI and PID controllers. We can conclude from NS-2 simulations that the average packet loss probability variations are negligible when the network parameters change.  相似文献

The cart‐inverted pendulum is a non‐minimum phase system having right half s‐plane pole and zero in close vicinity to each other. Linear time invariant (LTI) classical controllers cannot achieve satisfactory loop robustness for such systems. Therefore, in the present work the fractional order PIλDμ (FOPID) controller is addressed for robust stabilization of the system, since fractional order controller design allows more degrees of freedom compared to its integer order counterparts by virtue of its two parameters λ and μ. The controller parameters are tuned by three evolutionary optimization techniques. In order to select the controller parameters optimally, a novel non‐linear fitness function using integral time square error (ITSE), settling‐time, and rise time is proposed here. The control algorithm is implemented successfully in real‐time. Moreover, stability analysis of the system compensated with a fractional order controller is presented using Riemann surface. Robustness of the physical cart‐inverted pendulum system towards multiplicative gain variations and plant parameter variations is verified. In this regard, it is shown that the fractional order controller provides satisfactory robust performance in both simulation and real‐time system.  相似文献

This paper addresses the robust H static output feedback (SOF) controller design problem for a class of uncertain fuzzy affine systems that are robust against both the plant parameter perturbations and controller gain variations. More specifically, the purpose is to synthesize a non-fragile piecewise affine SOF controller guaranteeing the stability of the resulting closed-loop fuzzy affine dynamic system with certainH performance index. Based on piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions and applying some convexification procedures, two different approaches are proposed to solve the robust and non-fragile piecewise affine SOF controller synthesis problem. It is shown that the piecewise affine controller gains can be obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, simulation examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.  相似文献

Generalized H2 (GH2) stability analysis and controller design of the uncertain discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with state delay are studied based on a switching fuzzy model and piecewise Lyapunov function. GH2 stability sufficient conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The interactions among the fuzzy subsystems are considered. Therefore, the proposed conditions are less conservative than the previous results. Since only a set of LMIs is involved, the controller design is quite simple and numerically tractable. To illustrate the validity of the proposed method, a design example is provided.  相似文献

This note first characterizes the class of all stabilizing controllers for a two-degree-of-Freedom control system which achieve a prescribed achievable transfer function. The characterization is in terms of an arbitrary proper stable transfer function. With this characterization, robust model matching is formulated as a standard H-optimization problem. This means that standard controller designs for a nominal plant, such as linear-quadratic Gaussian ones, can be enhanced to give improved robustness properties using H-design techniques.  相似文献

Robotic manipulators are a multi-input multi-output, dynamically coupled, highly time-varying, complex and highly nonlinear systems wherein the external disturbances, parameter variations, and random noise adversely affects the performance of the robotic system. Therefore, in order to deal with such complexities, however, an intriguing task for control researchers, these systems require an efficient and robust controller. In this paper, a novel application of genetic algorithms (GA) optimization approach to optimize the scaling factors of interval type-2 fuzzy proportional derivative plus integral (IT2FPD+I) controllers is proposed for 5-DOF redundant robot manipulator for trajectory tracking task. All five controllers' parameters are optimized simultaneously. Further, a procedure for selecting appropriate initial search space is also demonstrated. In order to make a fair comparison between different controllers, the tuning of each of the controllers' parameters is done with GA. This optimization technique uses the time domain optimal tuning while minimizing the fitness function as the sum of integral of multiplication of time with square error (ITSE) for each joint. To ascertain the effectiveness of IT2FPID controller, it is compared against type-1 fuzzy PID (T1FPID) and conventional PID controllers. Furthermore, robustness testing of developed IT2FPID controller for external disturbances, parameter variations, and random noise rejection is also investigated. Finally, the experimental study leads us to claim that our proposed controller can not only assure best trajectory tracking in joint and Cartesian space, but also improves the robustness of the systems for external disturbances, parameter variations, and random noise.  相似文献

Robust output-feedback control of linear discrete-time systems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The problem of designing H dynamic output-feedback controllers for linear discrete-time systems with polytopic type parameter uncertainties is considered. Given a transfer function matrix of a system with uncertain real parameters that reside in some known ranges, an appropriate, not necessarily minimal, state-space model of the system is described which permits reconstruction of all its states via the delayed inputs and outputs of the plant. The resulting model incorporates the uncertain parameters of the transfer function matrix in the state-space matrices. A recently developed linear parameter-dependent LMI approach to state-feedback H control of uncertain polytopic systems is then used to design a robust output-feedback controllers that are of order comparable to the one of the plant. These controllers ensure the stability and guarantee a prescribed performance level within the uncertainty polytope.  相似文献

This paper suggests a new fuzzy adaptive controller, which is able to solve the problems of classical adaptive controllers and conventional fuzzy adaptive controllers. It explains the architecture of a fuzzy adaptive controller using the robust property of a fuzzy controller. The basic idea of new adaptive control scheme is that an adaptive controller can be constructed with parallel combination of robust controllers. This new adaptive controller uses a multirule-base architecture which has several independent fuzzy controllers in parallel, each with different robust stability area. Out of several independent fuzzy controllers, the most suited one is selected by a system identifier which observes variations in the controlled system parameter. Here, we propose a design procedure which can be carried out mathematically and systematically from the model of a controlled system; related mathematical theorems and their proofs are also given. The performance of the proposed adaptive control algorithm is analyzed through a design example and a DC motor control simulation  相似文献

In this paper, an approach is proposed to design robust controllers for uncertain systems with the linguistic uncertainties represented by fuzzy sets. With a provided technique, the fuzzy sets are best approximated by intervals (crisp sets). Then the Kharitonovs theorem is applied to construct a robust PID controller for the uncertain plant with time-invariant uncertainties represented by interval models. Also, for the uncertain system with linguistic values of the time-varying uncertainties best approximated by intervals (which are bounded), a robust sliding mode controller is developed to stabilize the uncertain system if the sliding coefficient conditions are satisfied. Moreover, the best approximation intervals are shown to be more related to the possibility distribution of the elements in the universes of discourse of fuzzy sets than the type of membership functions used for fuzzy sets. Examples and simulation results are included to indicate the design approach and the effectiveness of the proposed robust controller. This work is partly supported by the the R.O.C. This paper discusses the problem of robust H control for linear discrete time two-dimensional (2-D) singular Roesser models (2-D SRM) with time-invariant norm-bounded parameter uncertainties. The purpose is the design of static output feedback controllers such that the resulting closed-loop system is acceptable, jump modes free, stable and satisfies a prescribed H performance level for all admissible uncertainties. A version of bounded realness of 2-D SRM is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Based on this, a sufficient condition for the solvability of the robust H control problem is solved, and a desired output feedback controller can be constructed by solving a set of matrix inequalities. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.  相似文献

This paper analyzes the stability and robustness of uncertain nonlinear systems and shows that the analysis results provide an efficient technique for the design of fuzzy controllers. Based on a fuzzy plant model describing an uncertain nonlinear plant, this design involves the derivation of a stability criterion and a robust area in the uncertain parameter space in terms of some measures of the closed-loop control system matrices. An application example on balancing an inverted pendulum is given to illustrate the simple design methodology, the stability and the robustness of the feedback system incorporated with the proposed fuzzy controller.  相似文献

This article considers the distributed robust control problems of uncertain linear multi-agent systems with undirected communication topologies. It is assumed that the agents have identical nominal dynamics while subject to different norm-bounded parameter uncertainties, leading to weakly heterogeneous multi-agent systems. Distributed controllers are designed for both continuous- and discrete-time multi-agent systems, based on the relative states of neighbouring agents and a subset of absolute states of the agents. It is shown for both the continuous- and discrete-time cases that the distributed robust control problems under such controllers in the sense of quadratic stability are equivalent to the H control problems of a set of decoupled linear systems having the same dimensions as a single agent. A two-step algorithm is presented to construct the distributed controller for the continuous-time case, which does not involve any conservatism and meanwhile decouples the feedback gain design from the communication topology. Furthermore, a sufficient existence condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities is derived for the distributed discrete-time controller. Finally, the distributed robust H control problems of uncertain linear multi-agent systems subject to external disturbances are discussed.  相似文献

This paper proposes a methodology for the quantitative robustness evaluation of PID controllers employed in a DC motor. The robustness analysis is performed employing a 23 factorial experimental design for a fractional order proportional integral and derivative controller (FOPID), integer order proportional integral and derivative controller (IOPID) and the Skogestad internal model control controller (SIMC). The factors assumed in experiment are the presence of random noise, external disturbances in the system input and variable load. As output variables, the experimental design employs the system step response and the controller action. Practical implementation of FOPID and IOPID controllers uses the MATLAB stateflow toolbox and a NI data acquisition system. Results of the robustness analysis show that the FOPID controller has a better performance and robust stability against the experiment factors.   相似文献

This article investigates the problem of designing H dynamic output feedback controllers for nonlinear systems, which are described by affine fuzzy models. The system outputs have been chosen as premise variables, which can guarantee that the plant and the controller always switch to the same region. By using a piecewise Lyapunov function and adding slack matrix variables, a piecewise-affine dynamic output feedback controller design method is obtained in the formulation of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be efficiently solved numerically. In contrast to the existing work, the proposed approach needs less LMI constraints and leads to less conservatism. Finally, numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the new result.  相似文献

Two important practical criteria for most real control systems are that the controller has an integrator and that the closed-loop system has robust stability. In this paper we identify and characterize a grouping or classification of linear scalar discrete-time plants comprising three classes according to the best possible stability robustness margins against coprime factor uncertainty that can be obtained with integral controllers.  相似文献

This paper shows that the set of rational, strictly proper, robustly stabilizing controllers for single‐input single‐output linear‐time invariant plants will form a bounded (can even be empty) set in the controller parameter space if and only if the order of the stabilizing controller cannot be reduced any further; if the set of proper stabilizing controllers of order r is not empty and the set of strictly proper controllers of order r is bounded, then r is the minimal order of stabilization. The paper also extends this result to characterize the set of controllers that guarantee some pre‐specified performance specifications. In particular, it is shown here that the minimal order of a controller that guarantees specified performance is l iff (1) there is a controller of order l guaranteeing the specified performance and (2) the set of strictly proper, robustly stabilizing controllers of order l and guaranteeing the performance is bounded. Moreover, if the order of the controller is increased, the set of higher‐order controllers which satisfies the specified performance will necessarily be unbounded. This characterization is provided for performance specifications, such as gain margin and robust stability, which require a one‐parameter family of real polynomials to be Hurwitz, where the parameter is in a closed interval. Other performance specifications, such as phase margin and ℋ︁ norm, can be reduced to the problem of determining a set of stabilizing controllers that renders a family of complex polynomials Hurwitz. The characterization of the set of controllers for the stabilization of complex polynomials is provided and is used to show the boundedness properties for the set of controllers that guarantee a given phase margin or an upper bound on the ℋ︁ norm. A feedback control-system design problem involving input nonlinearities and structured plant parameter uncertainities is considered. Multivariable absolute stability theory is merged with the guaranteed cost control approach to robust stability and performance to obtain a theory of full- and reduced-order robust control design that accounts for input time-varying sector bounded nonlinearities. The principal result is a sufficient condition for characterizing dynamic controllers of a fixed dimension which are guaranteed to provide robust stability for plant parametric variations and absolute stabilization for input nonlinearities. The proposed framework provides a systematic design trade-off between classical robustness guarantees (i.e., gain and phase margins) versus parametric robustness. Furthermore, the framework is directly applicable to uncertain systems with saturating controls and provides fixed-order dynamic output feedback controllers with guaranteed domains of attraction. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
