A series of white-light-emitting phosphors of single-phase Ba2Mg(BO3)2:Ce3+, Na+, Tb3+, Eu2+ were synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction. The crystal structure of the host was characterized by X-ray diffraction and investigated by Rietveld refinement. Photoluminescence properties were studied in detail. The energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+ in Ba2Mg(BO3)2 host was investigated and demonstrated to be a resonant type via a quadrupole–quadrupole mechanism. White light with wavelength tunable was realized by coupling the emission bands peaking at 417, 543 and 626 nm attributed to Ce3+, Tb3+ and Eu2+, respectively. By properly tuning the relative composition of Ce3+(Na+)/Tb3+/Eu2+, optimized Commission Internationale de l׳Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates (0.363, 0.295), high color rendering index (CRI) 90 and low correlated color temperature (CCT) 3793 K were obtained from the phosphor of Ba1.90Ce0.04Na0.04Eu0.02Mg0.94Tb0.06(BO3)2 upon the excitation of 296 nm UV radiation. These results indicate that Ba2Mg(BO3)2:Ce3+, Na+, Tb3+, Eu2+ phosphor has a potential application as an UV radiation down-converting phosphor in white-light-emitting diodes.  相似文献

This paper reports the preparation of Eu3+ doped Gadolinium oxyorthosilicate (Gd2SiO5:Eu3+) phosphor with different concentration of Eu3+(0.1–2.5 mol%) using the modified solid state reaction method. The synthesis procedure of the Gd2SiO5:Eu3+phosphor using inorganic materials such as Gd2O3, silicon dioxide (SiO2), europium oxide (Eu2O3) and boric acid (H3BO3) as flux is discussed in detail. The prepared phosphor samples were characterized by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Field Emission Gun Scanning Electron Microscopy (FEGSEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Photoluminescence (PL) and Thermoluminescence (TL). The Commission Internationale de l′Eclairage(CIE) coordinates were also calculated. The PL emission was observed in the 350–630 nm range for the Gd2SiO5:Eu3+ phosphor. PL excitation peaks were observed at 266, 275, 312 and 395 nm while the emission peaks were observed at 380, 416, 437, 545, 579, 589, 607, 615 and 628 nm. The emission peak at 615 nm was the most intense peak for all the different Eu3+ concentration samples. From the XRD data, using the Scherrer's formula, the average crystallite size of the Gd2SiO5:Eu3+ phosphor was calculated to be 33 nm. TL was carried out for the phosphor after both UV and gamma irradiation. The TL response of the Gd2SiO5:Eu3+ phosphor for the two different radiations was compared and studied in detail. It was found that the present phosphor can acts as a single host for red emission (1.5 mol%) for display devices and light emitting diode (LED) and white light emission for Eu3+(0.1 mol%) and it might be used as a TL dosimetric material for gamma dose detection.  相似文献

To meet the challenges and additional requirements towards the development of white LED׳s with utmost efficacy, a sol–gel approach is adopted wherein a water soluble silicon compound is used as a silica source. The phosphor material obtained is subjected to detailed structural, morphological and luminescent studies. The results obtained show that the XRD patterns of Eu2+ doped CaSrSiO4 phosphors are in good agreement with the CaSrSiO4 (ICSD no. 49660) whose structure is orthorhombic. The output of the luminescence studies clearly portrays a broad yellow emission between 450 and 750 nm with a peak at ~600 nm under the broad excitation range. This confirms its efficient emission towards the development of a warm white light using blue LEDs. A red shift in the peak emission wavelength was observed for the prepared samples. This longer shift in wavelength can be credited to the sol–gel method adopted and is not offered by the conventional solid state reaction method. A warm white emitting LED was fabricated by combining near ultraviolet LED (400 nm) chip with our sol–gel synthesized CaSrSiO4:Eu2+ phosphor. The CIE chromaticity coordinates (0.44 and 0.41), color correlated temperature (CCT) <4000 K, color rendering index (CRI) >80 provide their emission potentiality in the warm white light region.  相似文献

Tunable full color emissive LiSr3.99?xDy0.01(BO3)3:xEu3+ (0≤x≤0.09) phosphors peaked at 481 nm (blue), 574 nm (yellow), 592 nm (orange), and 617 nm (red) were synthesized in air by high temperature solid-state reaction route. The as-synthesized phosphors were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence excitation (PLE) and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The PLE spectra in the range from 200 to 500 nm include an Eu–O charge transfer band (CTB) and several 4f–4f transition peaks of Dy3+ and Eu3+, indicating its potential application in white light emitting diodes (LEDs). The effect of Eu3+ concentration on the emission intensity of LiSr3.99?xDy0.01(BO3)3:xEu3+ phosphors was investigated in detail and the optical concentration is found to be x=0.005. The CIE chromaticity coordinates for LiSr3.99?xDy0.01(BO3)3:xEu3+ phosphors are simulated. With an increase in Eu3+ ion concentration, the chromaticity color coordinates can be tuned efficiently from the border of greenish white region to its equal-energy white light point, and eventually to red region. All the results imply that the studied LiSr3.99?xDy0.01(BO3)3:xEu3+ phosphors could be potentially used as white LEDs.  相似文献

The structural and luminescent properties of Eu3+ doped TiO2 nanophosphors synthesized by low cost combustion method were investigated. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that crystallite size decreases with doping concentration. Lattice volume expansion occurred due to the substitution of Ti4+ ions by larger ionic radii ions Eu3+. FESEM images showed prepared phosphors to be nano size spherical shaped particles. Energy band gap of 3 mol% Eu3+ doped samples decreased to 3.15 eV due to doping effect. The Eu3+ doped TiO2 nanophosphors exhibited main red emission peak centered at 616 nm under 395 nm UV light excitation. Concentration quenching was observed at 3 mol% doping, that has been ascribed to dipole-dipole interaction. The covalent nature of Eu-O bond and environment around Eu3+ ions were discussed using Judd-Ofelt (J-O) intensity parameters. Internal quantum efficiency was calculated using excited state lifetime 5D0 state of Eu3+ ion and J-O theory. The CIE colour coordinates and colour purity were calculated using the spectral energy distribution function. Low excited state life time indicated that Eu3+ doped TiO2 can be used as red emitting phosphor for white light emitting diode applications.  相似文献

A series of emission-tunable Ca3SiO4Cl2:Bi3+, Li+, Eun+(n =2, 3) (CSC:Bi3+, Li+, Eun+) phosphors have been synthesized via sol-gel method. The X-ray diffraction results indicate that the as-synthesized phosphors crystallize in a low temperature phase with the space group of P21/c. Energy transfer from Bi3+ to Eu3+/Eu2+ exists in CSC:Bi3+, Li+, Eun+ phosphors. Under the excitation of 327 or 365 nm, the Ca2.98−ySiO4Cl2:0.01Bi3+, 0.01Li+, yEun+(y=0.0001–0.002) phosphors show an intense green emission band around 505 nm, while under the excitation of 264 nm, three emission bands centered around 396 nm (Bi3+), 505 nm (Eu2+) and 614 nm (Eu3+) are observed and tunable colors from blue-violet to green or white are achieved in these phosphors by varying the content of Eu. White-light emission with the color coordinate (0.312, 0.328) is obtained in Ca2.978SiO4Cl2:0.01Bi3+, 0.01Li+, 0.002Eun+(n =2, 3). Based on these results, the as-prepared CSC:Bi3+, Li+, Eu2+, Eu3+ phosphors can act as color-tunable and single-phase white emission phosphors for potential applications in UV-excited white LEDs.  相似文献

We successfully prepared β-SiAlON:Eu2+ phosphors with composition of EuxSi6?zAlzOyN8?y (y = z ? 2x, x = 0.018, z = 0.23) by gas-pressured synthesis for application to LED. The crystal phase, microstructure, PL emission and thermal quenching properties were investigated in detail. The β-SiAlON:Eu2+ phosphors absorbed broad UV–vis spectral region, and showed a single intense broadband emission near 538 nm. The Stokes shift and zero-phonon line were calculated mathematically, and also estimated from the spectral data. The β-SiAlON:Eu2+ green phosphor showed superior thermal quenching properties compared to commercial silicate (SrBaSiO4:Eu2+) green phosphor. The white light-emitting diode (LED) using the prepared β-SiAlON:Eu2+ green phosphor exhibited high color gamut, and good optical stability in high working temperature.  相似文献

The red emission with suitable peak wavelength and narrow band is acutely required for high color rendering index (CRI) white LEDs without at the cost of the luminous efficacy. Herein, the Li2Ca2Mg2Si2N6:Eu2+ red phosphor was prepared with facile solid-state method using Ca3N2, Mg3N2, Si3N4, Li3N, and Eu2O3 as the safety raw materials under atmospheric pressure for the first time, which shows red emission peaking at 638 nm with full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 62 nm under blue light irradiation and becomes the desired red phosphor to realize the balance between luminous efficacy and high CRI in white LEDs. The morphology, structure, luminescence properties, thermal quenching behavior, and chromaticity stability of the Li2Ca2Mg2Si2N6:Eu2+ phosphor are investigated in detail. Concentration quenching occurs when the Eu2+ content exceeds 1.0 mol%, whereas high-temperature photoluminescent measurements show a 32% drop from the room-temperature efficiency at 423 K. In view of the excellent luminescence performances of Li2Ca2Mg2Si2N6:Eu2+ phosphor, a white LEDs with CRI of 91 as a proof-of-concept experiment was fabricated by coating the title phosphor with Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ on a blue LED chip. In addition, the potential application of the title phosphor in plant growth LED device was also demonstrated. All the results indicate that Li2Ca2Mg2Si2N6:Eu2+ is a promising red-emitting phosphor for blue LED-based high CRI white LEDs and plant growth lighting sources.  相似文献

Eu2+-activated LiSr3SiO4Cl3 phosphors were successfully designed, and prepared at low calcination temperature (650 °C). The crystal structure, morphology, and photoluminescence properties have been investigated in detail. The LiSr3SiO4Cl3 crystallizes in orthorhombic LiEu3SiO4Cl3-type structure. Under 316 nm excitation, the phosphor exhibits an asymmetric emission band peaking at 495 nm, which is probably attributed to the 4f–5d transitions of Eu2+ in various crystallographic sites. Their luminescence properties are investigated as a function of activator concentration (Eu2+). The quenching concentration of Eu2+ in LiEu3SiO4Cl3 is about 0.01 due to dipole–dipole interaction. The investigation indicates that Eu2+-activated LiEu3SiO4Cl3 phosphor can be used as a green emitting phosphor for white LEDs.  相似文献

We have synthesized a partially nitridated Ca13.7Eu0.3Mg2Si8O32 (CMSN:Eu2+) using Si3N4 with a conventional solid‐state reaction and successfully determined the structural parameters by a combined Rietveld refinement method. The partial nitridation of Ca13.7Eu0.3Mg2Si8O32 (CMS:Eu2+) led to a large enhancement in the luminescence intensity, as much as 148%. From the Rietveld refinement results, the anisotropic changes of the lattice parameters were observed for the partially nitridated samples. By incorporating this phosphor + red phosphor with an encapsulant on an InGaN light‐emitting diode (LED) (λmax = 395 nm), white light with a color rendering index of 92 and a color temperature of 5320 K under 20 mA was obtained.  相似文献

A novel red-emitting phosphor Ca8MgLu(PO4)7:Eu3+ was synthesized by a high-temperature solid-state reaction method. Its crystal structure, photoluminescence emission and excitation spectra, and decay time were investigated in detail. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicate that Ca8MgLu(PO4)7 crystallizes in single-phase component with a whitlockite-like structure and the space group R3c of β-Ca3(PO4)2. The emission spectrum shows a dominant peak at 612 nm due to the dipole 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+, and the luminescence intensity keeps increasing with increasing the content of Eu3+ to 100%. The excitation spectrum is coupled well with the emission of near ultraviolet (NUV) LED (380–410 nm). The CIE coordinates of Ca8MgLu(PO4)7:Eu3+ phosphor is (0.654, 0.346), being close to the standard value of National Television Standard Committee (NTSC) for red phosphor, (0.670, 0.330). The internal quantum efficiency of the phosphor is 69% under the excitation of 394 nm. The results show that Ca8MgLu(PO4)7:Eu3+ is a very appropriate red-emitting phosphor with a high ratio of red and orange for NUV-based white LEDs.  相似文献

A novel green phosphor composed of Ca4LaO(BO3)3:Tb3+ (CLBO:Tb) has been synthesized by a combustion method with urea. Its crystal structure, temperature-dependent luminescence, and quantum yield (QY) have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) spectra with heating device and integrate sphere. No concentration quenching has been observed when all of La3+ ions are substituted with Tb3+ ions. Green phosphor Ca4TbO(BO3)3 (CTBO) has 200% luminescence intensity of commercially available phosphor LaPO4:Ce, Tb (LPO:Ce, Tb) under 378 nm excitation. The QY of CTBO is as high as 98%. Through a Dexter energy transfer mechanism, Eu3+ ions are efficiently sensitized by Tb3+, resulting in an emission with color tunable from green to red under ultraviolet excitation. A possible mechanism of energy transfer from Tb3+ to Eu3+ has been investigated by PL spectra and decay measurements. The energy transfer efficiency from Tb3+ to Eu3+ increases linearly with concentration of Eu3+ increasing.  相似文献

To obtain warm white-light emission, a series of Ca9MgNa(PO4)7:Sr2+, Mn2+, Ln (Ln=Eu2+, Yb3+, Er3+, Ho3+, and Tm3+) phosphors were designed and their photoluminescence properties under near-ultraviolet and near-infrared excitation were studied. For near-ultraviolet excitation, blue-white emission is produced initially in the Eu2+ single-doped Ca9MgNa(PO4)7, whose excitation band can well match with the near ultraviolet LED chip. By introducing Sr2+ ions into Ca9MgNa(PO4)7:Eu2+, the Eu2+ emission band beyond 500 nm is enhanced obviously. Correspondingly, the emitting light color is tuned to nearly white. To generate warm white light further, Mn2+ is doped into the Ca8.055MgNa(PO4)7:0.045Eu2+, 0.9Sr2+ and the correlated color temperature is decreased largely. For near-infrared excitation, the green, red, and blue emissions have been obtained in the Yb3+-Er3+, Yb3+-Er3+, and Yb3+-Er3+ co-doped Ca9MgNa(PO4)7 phosphors, respectively. And warm white light is also produced in the Ca9MgNa(PO4)7:Yb3+, Er3+, Ho3+, Tm3+ under 980 nm excitation.  相似文献

SrxCa1−xAlSiN3: Eu2+ phosphors were prepared by using the high temperature solid state reaction in a 1.1 Mpa N2 atmosphere. The phase structures, photoluminescence (PL) properties, and chromaticity properties of the phosphors affected by Sr/Ca Substitution have been investigated in detail. With increasing Sr content (x value), the crystal grain became bigger and the average grain size increased from 5 µm to 10 µm. PL emission bands of SrxCa1−xAlSiN3: Eu2+ showed a blue-shift from 660 (x=0) to 617 nm (x=0.8), the shoulder of the excitation spectra around 550 nm showed a slightly blue-shift and decay lifetime shortened from 776.96 (x=0.2) to 642.35 ns (x=0.8). Both the emission and excitation intensity of peak position increased with Sr content increased. The ideal white light with high CRI (Ra>88) can be obtained by mixing the SrxCa1−xAlSiN3: Eu2+ phosphors and commercial green phosphors with appropriate proportion of the components.  相似文献

A new method for improving color rendering index (CRI) and low correlated color temperature (CCT) in high‐power white‐light‐emitting diodes (WLEDs) is proposed. We used a configuration of phosphor‐in‐glass (PIG) and studied light output changes with the increment in concentration of yellow‐emitting Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ (YAG:Ce3+) phosphor. The PIG was coupled on the top of blue‐light‐emitting diodes (LED) chip (465 nm). To compensate the lack of red emission in the phosphor, Eu3+‐doped tellurium glass with different europium content was employed as a red emitter. The suitable contents of YAG:Ce3+ and Eu3+ were 7.5 weight percent (wt%) and 3 mol percent (mol%), respectively. The CRI value went from 72 to 82, whereas the CCT was reduced from 24 933 to 6434 K. The proposed structure can improve CCT as well as CRI of WLEDs just by placing a glass on top.  相似文献

A series of single-phase white-light-emitting phosphors, Eu2+-activated Ba3GdNa(PO4)3F phosphors were synthesized by solid-state reactions. The crystal structure of Ba3GdNa(PO4)3F was been identified by Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction pattern. The Eu2+-activated Ba3GdNa(PO4)3F phosphors exhibit broad excitation spectra from 250 to 420 nm, which matched well with the n-UV LED chips. Under the excitation of 365 nm, the emission spectrum almost covered the entire visible region including two emission bands peaked at 472 nm and 640 nm. Three different Eu2+ emission centers in Ba3GdNa(PO4)3F:Eu2+ phosphor were confirmed by their fluorescence decay lifetimes. The optimal concentration of Eu2+ in Ba3GdNa(PO4)3F:xEu2+ was 3 mol% and the corresponding concentration quenching mechanism was verified to be exchange coupling interaction. Furthermore, the white light-emitting diode fabricated with Ba3GdNa(PO4)3F:0.05Eu2+ phosphor and a 370 nm UV chip has a CIE of (0.3267, 0.2976) with a color-rendering index of 78.4 at the CCT of 5287 K.  相似文献

To synthesize various complex oxide materials and their solid solutions, we applied a novel “melt-synthesis technique” rather than conventional solid-state reaction techniques. Rapid synthesis methods to develop those double oxides have been strongly anticipated. During melt synthesis, the mixture of oxides or their precursors is melted rapidly (1–60 s) in an arc-imaging furnace using strong light radiation. A spherical molten sample with multiple homogeneously mixed cations was solidified directly on a copper hearth with rapid cooling of ca. 102 °C/s.We studied the synthesis of A2BO4 type double oxides (AA′)2BO4 (A = Sr2+, Ca2+, A′ = La3+, Gd3+, Y3+, Eu3+, B = Al) using this method. Homogeneous samples with Eu3+ dopants were synthesized using liquid phase mixing in a few seconds, which is much faster than diffusions of ions in solid phase. Red fluorescence under the irradiation of ultraviolet light (254 and 365 nm) was observed. The excitation band shifted.  相似文献

Eu2+, Mn2+ doped Sr1.7Mg0.3SiO4 phosphors were prepared by high temperature solid-state reaction method. Their luminescence properties were studied. The emission spectra of Eu2+ singly doped Sr1.7Mg0.3SiO4 consist of a blue band (455 nm) and a green band (550 nm). The relative intensities of two emissions varied with Eu2+ concentration. Eu2+ and Mn2+ co-doped Sr1.7Mg0.3SiO4 phosphors emit three color lights and present whitish color. The blue (455 nm) and green (550 nm) emissions are attributed to the transitions of Eu2+, while the red (670 nm) emission is originated from the transition of Mn2+ ion. The results indicate the energy transfer from Eu2+ to Mn2+. The mechanism of the energy transfer is resonance-type energy transfer due to the spectral overlap between the emission of Eu2+and the absorption of Mn2+.  相似文献

In this work, we have succeeded in obtaining high quality warm w‐light‐emitting‐diodes (LEDs) by adopting hybrid two‐dimensional (2D) structure of SiNx photonic crystal layer (PCL) assisted cyan‐emitting ceramic‐plate thiosilicate SrLa2Si2S8:Ce3+ with red‐emitting film SrLiAl3N4:Eu2+ phosphor on a 430 nm blue LED chip at 350 mA. 2D SiNx PCL was capped with thiosilicate is because it can enhance the luminous efficacy and maintain the low correlated color temperature (CCT) and high color‐rendering index (CRI). High luminous efficacy (82.3 lm/W), high special CRI (R9=75) as well as the low CCT (5431 K) of the optimal w‐LED was obtained due to the assistances of 2D SiNx PCL and narrow‐band red‐emitting phosphor with the doping percentage at 10 wt%. The synthesis processes, structural analysis, optical properties and LED device performances were detailed investigated to find out the relationship between the optimum composition and good optical properties. Based on intriguing luminescence properties by the 2D SiNx PCL and red‐emitting film phosphor introducing, we proclaim this method could also have high potential application in other phosphor‐converted w‐LEDs.  相似文献

A novel single-phase white-emitting phosphor La10(SiO4)6O3 (LSO): xEu has been synthesized by high-temperature solid-state reaction. Its crystal structure, luminescence properties, fluorescence decay time and oxygen vacancies have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. XRD result shows a typical oxyapatite structure with the space group of P63/m. Characteristic excitation and emission peaks of Eu2+ and Eu3+ were observed from PL studies. The optimum doping concentration of Eu was found to be 7.5 mol% (x = 0.075). In this work, the lifetimes of Eu3+ and Eu2+ were considerably longer than those from some references. Under the excitation of different near ultraviolet (n-UV) longer wavelengths (λex = 360, 370, and 380 nm), the white light emission can be realized with the CIE chromaticity coordinates (0.3907, 0.3595), (0.3472, 0.3282), and (0.3504, 0.3062) for the phosphor LSO: 0.075Eu. The chromaticity coordinates of the phosphor were all located in the white region. Therefore, it is suggested that the explored LSO: 0.075Eu phosphor can be a good candidate for white light-emitting diodes (W-LEDs) application.  相似文献
