PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to measure ocular hysteresis and corneal resistance factor (CRF), novel methods of analysing ocular rigidity/elasticity and to determine the relationship between central corneal thickness (CCT), hysteresis and CRF in normal subjects. DESIGN: Prospective, cross-sectional, clinical trial. PARTICIPANTS: The study included 207 normal eyes. METHODS: Hysteresis and CRF were measured by the ocular response analyser. The CCT was measured using a hand held ultrasonic pachymeter. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Ocular hysteresis and CRF in normal patients and their relationship with CCT. RESULTS: The mean hysteresis was 10.7+/-2.0 mmHg standard deviation (S.D.) (range 6.1-17.6 mmHg); the mean CRF was 10.3+/-2.0 (range 5.7-17.1 mmHg). The mean CCT was 545.0+/-36.4 microm (471-650 microm). The relationship between hysteresis and CCT; CRF and CCT; CRF and hysteresis were significant (p<0.0001). CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that corneal hysteresis increased with increasing CCT, however, the correlation was moderate. It would appear that CCT, hysteresis and CRF may measure different biomechanical aspects of ocular rigidity and are likely to be useful additional measurement to CCT in the assessment of ocular rigidity when measuring intraocular pressure (IOP). This may be of particular importance when trying to correct IOP measurements for increased or decreased ocular rigidity.  相似文献

Purpose

To assess the accuracy of intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements using rebound tonometry over disposable hydrogel (etafilcon A) and silicone hydrogel (senofilcon A) contact lenses (CLs) of different powers.

Methods

The experimental group comprised 36 subjects (19 male, 17 female). IOP measurements were undertaken on the subject's right eyes in random order using a rebound tonometer (ICare). The CLs had powers of +2.00D, −2.00D and −6.00D. Six measurements were taken over each contact lens and also before and after the CLs had been worn.

Results

A good correlation was found between IOP measurements with and without CLs (all r ≥ 0.80; p < 0.05). Bland Altman plots did not show any significant trend in the difference in IOP readings with and without CLs as a function of IOP value. A two-way ANOVA revealed a significant effect of material and power (p < 0.01) but no interaction. All the comparisons between the measurements without CLs and with hydrogel CLs were significant (p < 0.01). The comparisons with silicone hydrogel CLs were not significant.

Conclusions

Rebound tonometry can be reliably performed over silicone hydrogel CLs. With hydrogel CLs, the measurements were lower than those without CLs. However, despite the fact that these differences were statistically significant, their clinical significance was minimal.  相似文献

Summary. The colour of ninety-seven pig longissimus dorsi muscles was measured using a spectrophotometer, a simple colour reflectometer, and an untrained panel of ten graders. the results obtained from the colour meters and the graders were compared with Munsell V value of the samples, calculated from the reflection spectra.
Visual colour grading produced a near linear correlation with the Munsell V value. Dark samples tended to be underestimated, whereas pale samples were overestimated by the panel. There was considerable variation between observers'scores, between methods of visual grading, and between visual and instrumental grading. Results obtained from the colour meter were reproducible. the error in comparison with the spectrophotometer was small. the colour meter provides a convenient portable and inexpensive method of measuring the colour lightness of pork muscle.
The experiment showed the practicability of objective measurement of meat colour lightness. the determination of colour quality, however, requires both subjective and objective measurements.  相似文献

将偶氮、蒽醌、杂环 3 种结构的分散染料进行微胶囊化,结合分散染料的IOB(无机/有机)值,研究分散染料结构对微胶囊粒径、包覆率、释放性能及释放动力学的影响,旨在探索分散染料微胶囊清洁染色释放性能的理论依据.结果表明:分散染料自身物理性能和分子结构对其微胶囊释放性能有较大影响;IOB值较低,水溶性差的分散染料微胶囊平均粒径较大,包覆率较高;分散染料微胶囊的释放分三个阶段:第一阶段为快速释放阶段,主要受分散染料微胶囊中染料含量的影响,通常IOB值较低,含量较高的样品释放较快;第二阶段的释放符合一级释放动力学方程,受染料溶解性影响,通常与释放介质IOB值相近,溶解性好的样品释放速率常数较高;第三阶段为释放恒定阶段.  相似文献

PurposeTo examine the influence of short-term fenestrated scleral lens wear on intraocular pressure (IOP) in healthy eyes.MethodsIOP was measured before, during, and after a brief period (1–2 min) of fenestrated, scleral lens wear, using a rebound tonometer, in fifty, young healthy adults (mean age 23 ± 4 years) with normal corneas.ResultsImmediately following lens insertion, 48 of the 50 (96 %) of participants displayed an increase in IOP (mean ± SD increase in these participants of 3.8 ± 2.0 mmHg). Immediately following lens removal, 50 % of participants displayed a reduction in IOP, equal to or lower than, the pre-insertion IOP (-1.0 ± 0.8 mmHg lower than baseline). The remaining 50 % of participants displayed an IOP slightly greater than the pre-insertion IOP (1.6 ± 1.0 mmHg greater) after lens removal.ConclusionsShort-term fenestrated scleral lens wear resulted in a small, but statistically significant, increase in IOP in 96 % of young healthy participants (< 4 mmHg on average), which decreased to a level similar to pre-lens insertion IOP levels immediately following lens removal. Further research is required to determine if this measured change in IOP during scleral lens wear is artefactual, or an elevation in the true IOP.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to establish the relationship between OST, tear film stability as assessed by NIBUT and subjective evaluation of the lipid layer thickness in a young, asymptomatic, sample group (N = 29). Non-invasive tear break-up time (NIBUT) and tear lipid layer structure were evaluated through a slit-lamp mounted Tearscope Plus. A self-calibrating infrared thermography camera was used to record two OST values (one immediately post-blink and one immediately pre the subsequent blink). The most common lipid layer pattern observed was the amorphous pattern (48.3%). Differences between post- and pre-blink OST values were observed (paired t-test; p < 0.001). Significant differences of pre-blink OST values were observed between the closed marmoreal group with that from the amorphous and flow groups (Tukey post hoc test, p < 0.05). There were no differences of NIBUT values between each lipid layer thickness (Kruskal–Wallis test; p = 0.152). A no significant tendency for higher OST in eyes with increased NIBUT was observed. This study suggests that higher OST values could be associated with thicker tear lipid layer in normal subjects. The lack of significant results in relation with tear film stability may be due to only normal subjects were included.  相似文献

This study provides us information about relationship between curling and knitted structure and density of two-guide bar warp-knitted fabrics. Five standard warp-knitted fabrics are produced with three densities (Tricot, Locknit, three-needle Satin, Reveres Locknit and three-needle Sharkskin). Certain cut lengths of sample fabrics in both wale and course direction are analyzed through image processing to define curling value. A mechanical model, a function of fabric structure and yarn parameters, is also suggested to predict the curling force. The results of experimental and theoretical results show a greater curling value for course-wise cut in comparison to that of wale-wise in all warp-knitted structures and densities. The lowest curling value is found for three-needle Sharkskin structure in both directions and all densities.  相似文献

以非晶态蜡质玉米淀粉与辛烯基琥珀酸酐反应制备了系列不同取代度(DS)的辛烯基琥珀酸淀粉酯,用红外、核磁进行了表征。研究了淀粉酯制备效率及其内部结构、取代度及分子量与乳化、包埋性能的关系。结果表明:与原淀粉相比较,非晶态淀粉和辛烯基琥珀酸酐的反应效率得到明显提高,DS也增大;非晶态淀粉酯的乳化和包埋性能明显高于具有相近DS的晶态淀粉酯,当DS=0.0203时,其乳化能力、乳化稳定性以及包埋率分别达到68%、67.3%及55.2%。乳化能力和乳化稳定性随着DS和分子量的增加没有明显对应关系,而包埋率则随着DS和分子量的增加逐渐升高,呈明显正相关。  相似文献

目的观察超声乳化白内障吸除植入后房型人工晶状体治疗恶性青光眼的临床疗效。方法对18例、18眼青光眼滤过手术后发生的恶性青光眼,超声乳化白内障吸除,植入后房型人工晶状体、小梁切除。结果术后前房不同程度的加深,眼压控制正常,术前眼压(41.01±11.51)mmHg[(5.47±1.53)kPa],术后眼压(17.33±2.43)mmHg[(2.31±0.32)kPa];视力均有不同程度的提高,<0.051眼(5.5%),0.1 ̄0.311眼(61.1%),>0.47眼(38.9%)。并发症:瞳孔区渗出膜5眼(27.8%),虹膜后粘连6眼(33.3%),前粘连2眼(11.1%),角膜内皮水肿6眼(33.3%)。结论超声乳化白内障吸除植入后房型人工晶状体是治疗恶性青光眼的有效方法之一。  相似文献
