This article presents a novel design of circularly polarised microstrip antenna based on a metamaterial reflection plane and a half-wave antenna. The metamaterial is composed of two pieces of substrates coated on one side with split ring resonators. Both the experimental and simulated results show that good circularly polarised radiation performances are obtained. The 10?dB return-loss impedance bandwidth and 3?dB axial ratio bandwidth of proposed antenna are 12% and 7%, respectively, and the gain of proposed antenna compared with the half-wave antenna is improved from 6?dB to 9?dB in the design frequency range. 相似文献

The feasibility of millimetre-wave (MM-wave) aperture-coupled patch antennas, printed at the back surface of substrate-lenses is demonstrated and the corresponding radiation characteristics are investigated. A specific realisation of such an air-lens-patch-slot-strip (ALPSS) antenna on a low-permittivity ϵ r=4.0 extended hemispherical lens substrate is theoretically and experimentally characterised at 70 GHz. It is demonstrated that the ALPSS antenna exhibits clean, axially symmetric patterns of low cross-polarisation (26 dB), a directivity of 30.4 dB and the 3 dB pattern full-beamwidth remains within 6°-5° between 60-80 GHz. In addition, a very-high front-to-back (F/B) ratio, of the order of 50 dB is measured at 70 GHz, despite the absence of a backing ground-plane. 设计了一种基于腔结构的双模偶极子天线,其频率在2.44GHz和4.38GHz,利用MEMS开关实现双波段的操作.根据偶极子天线原理,设计了单模微带偶极子天线,使用开关结构将两个单模偶极子天线连接在一起,实现了双模天线的功能.利用三维电磁场软件HFSS分析了设计结构,包括开关、天线,在0~10 GHz得出开关性能插入损耗在-1dB以下,天线回波损耗在-26dB以下.频率为2.44GHz时、回波损耗为-13.2dB、2dB的辐射效率为89%,频率为4.38GHz时,回波损耗为-21.9dB、3dB辐射效率为96%,带宽都在0.5GHz左右. 相似文献

Antennas and waveguides for the wavelength range 0.1-3 mm are considered. Emphasis is placed on those designs which lend themselves to integration with each other and with other components such as diodes. The general properties of FIR antennas are reviewed. A novel silicon waveguide antenna is discussed, and its design, simulation, fabrication, and performance at 119 μm are described. This antenna has a highly symmetrical, single-lobed beam with 3 dB beamwidths of 35 and 38° in theE - andH -planes, respectively. The gain (measured in microwave simulation) is 12.8 dB. This antenna is well suited for integration with Schottky diodes. The related subject of FIR waveguides is discussed. Experiments with metal transmission lines at 119 μm are described and dielectric guides related to the waveguide antenna are also considered. Using components such as these it may soon be possible to construct receiver front ends for this wavelength range in integrated-circuit form. 相似文献

A new wideband planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) is introduced. The proposed antenna is based on a simple PIFA, where the shorting strip is modified into a meandering shape such that the antenna can have wideband characteristics. The antenna finds an impedance bandwidth of 45.2% for S11 < -10 dB from 1.565 to 2.48 GHz which can cover the GPS, DCS, IMT-2000, 2.4 GHz WLAN applications. A VHF Microstrip Antenna With Wide-Bandwidth and Dual-Polarization for Sea Ice Thickness Measurement

A VHF microstrip patch antenna was developed to achieve a bandwidth of 45 MHz (30%) from 127 to 172 MHz with dual-linear-polarization capability. This microstrip antenna, having a size of 117 cm times 117 cm times 27 cm, used low-dielectric-constant foam substrates and dual-stacked patches with capacitive probe feeds to achieve the required wide bandwidth. Four such capacitive feeds were used to achieve dual polarizations with less than -20 dB of cross-polarization level. Twenty-four shorting pins were uniquely used here on the lower patch to achieve 40 dB of isolation between the two polarization ports. This antenna has a measured gain of 8.5 dB at 137 MHz and 10.3 dB at 162 MHz. One advantage observed here at the low frequencies of VHF is that more electrical structures can be easily integrated into the microstrip antenna to improve its performance. 相似文献

A novel numerical method is developed for theoretically estimating the free-space antenna factor of an electromagnetic interference (EMI) antenna, especially for the very high frequency (VHF) range where traditional methods are difficult to apply. It requires conventional EMI antenna calibration such as the standard antenna method to obtain the antenna factor of an antenna under calibration as a function of the antenna height. Then, a nonlinear least-squares method is applied to the calibration results to estimate the free-space antenna factor. It is found that the proposed method can yield more accurate estimates of the free-space antenna factor than the averaging method. Attainable accuracy of this method is better than 0.2 dB for tuned dipole antennas and 0.1 dB for biconical antennas and biconi-log antennas. The paper outlines the theoretical background and the validity of this method, with the attainable accuracy demonstrated using method of moments simulations. 相似文献

X-band active beam-scanning leaky-wave antenna arrays, including 1 × 1,1 × 2 and 1 × 4 prototypes, have been demonstrated. These antennas integrated one or several microstrip leaky-wave antenna elements with a single varactor-tuned HEMT VCO as an active source. Measured results on experimental antennas indicate that the beam scanning angle of the 1 × 1 antenna close to 40° can be achieved and the scanning range of 1 × 2 and 1 × 4 antenna arrays are both close to 32°. Furthermore, reflected wave due to the open end of each leaky-wave antenna element has been suppressed by the symmetric configuration of this antenna array and the antenna efficiency increases. When comparing with the measured radiation pattern of the single element antenna, we found that the 1 × 2 and 1 × 4 antenna arrays can effectively suppress the reflected power by more than 5.5 dB and 10.5 dB, respectively, at 10.2GHz. The power gain are more than 2 dB and 3.16 dB higher than the single element antenna with a measured EIRP of 18.67 dBm. 相似文献

Designs of broadband dual-polarized patch antennas fed by promising feed structures of a capacitively coupled feed and a slot-coupled feed (antenna A), two capacitively coupled feeds of a 180° phase shift and a slot-coupled feed (antenna B), and two capacitively coupled feeds of a 180° phase shift and two slot-coupled feeds (antenna C) are proposed and experimentally studied. The first two feed designs are for the excitation of a single-element broadband patch antenna, while the last design is for a two-element broadband patch antenna. These proposed patch antennas have a thick air substrate, and the 10 dB return-loss impedance bandwidths obtained for the two polarizations are all greater than 13%. High isolation (<-30 dB for antenna A, <-32 dB for antenna B, <-35 dB for antenna C) between the two feeding ports for the entire impedance bandwidth of the proposed antennas can be obtained. Single- and dual-polarized dielectric lens-supported slot-ring antennas have been developed for operation at millimeter-wave frequencies. The antennas are fed with a coplanar waveguide (CPW) to be compatible with uniplanar mixers and low-noise amplifiers, and the feedline is shown to have a minimal effect on the antenna performance. The measured antenna patterns agree well with theoretical results and have symmetric main beams, low sidelobe levels (<-15 dB), low cross polarization (<-20 dB), and 27 dB directivity. A 2×2 array of single-polarized slot-ring antennas for monopulse applications demonstrates excellent patterns at 94 GHz with -3 dB crossover power levels in both elevation and azimuth scans. The dual-polarized slot ring antenna patterns are nearly identical to those of the single-polarized antenna, and two-port isolation is as low as -25 dB. The dielectric lens-supported slot-ring antenna is an excellent candidate for compact, low-cost millimeter-wave systems with fixed or variable polarization capabilities 相似文献

A novel broadband planar antenna based on the classic Yagi-Uda dipole array is presented. This "quasi-Yagi" antenna achieves a measured 48% bandwidth for VSWR <2, better than 12 dB front-to-back ratio, smaller than -15 dB cross polarization, 3-5 dB absolute gain and a nominal efficiency of 93% across the operating bandwidth. Finite-difference time-domain simulation is used for optimization of the antenna and the results agree very well with measurements. Additionally, a gain-enhanced design is presented, where higher gain has been achieved at the cost of reduced bandwidth. These quasi-Yagi antennas are realized on a high dielectric constant substrate and are completely compatible with microstrip circuitry and solid-state devices. The excellent radiation properties of this antenna make it ideal as either a stand-alone antenna with a broad pattern or as an array element. The antenna should find wide applications in wireless communication systems, power combining, phased arrays and active arrays, as well as millimeter-wave imaging arrays. 相似文献

针对宽波束天线在车载雷达中的应用,突破角雷达方位面3 dB波束宽度的限制,实现微带阵列天线在水平面的宽波束覆盖,设计了一款1×10串馈微带双层结构天线。线阵单元采用道尔夫-切比雪夫(Dolf-Chebyshev)综合法电流分布来达到降低天线俯仰面副瓣的效果,在串馈阵列上方加载寄生贴片和介质基板拓展天线方位面的3 dB波束宽度。分析了双层天线展宽波束的原理,加工并实测了双层宽波束天线,其方位面的3 dB波束宽度为134.6°,增益达到10.6 dB,副瓣电平为-19.8 dB,可以满足车载角雷达天线需求。 相似文献
